He's a pretty cool guy. If your a lazy person, there's no way you'll pass. I think if you keep up with ALL of your homework you'll do just fine. If you ask he's willing to help you out.

This guy is the SHIZNIT! he loves the students and wont lecture until you fully understand what ideas. Lazy people hate him.

What a shame to see negative comments about the best professor in the LAVC Math Dept. Those who rated Prof. Marroquin poorly are those who are not ready to be serious college students nor to work hard. He is everything a professor should be - and more.

Great professor the best professor I ever had for math at Valley College. If you want to learn for the rest of your life math take him, but your are willing to study at least 3 hours after class. The best for math. The best professor for math.

He is nice guy, but his class is not easy. If you want to learn from him you need to be prepared for 3 to 5 hours of study everyday unless you already know the materials. I personally like him. He is good dude.

If you are looking for a free ride, or just to pass the class don't take him. But if you like math, he is the one. I loved his class.

Dude, he's not hard. His tests are curved. If everyone stops complaining and actually pays attention in class, its a cake-walk. Sure, he gives a lot of homework, but how else do you expect to learn? Do the homework, and pay attention, and you'll do well in his class.

the teacher is very helpful and grades on a curve. hes not hard to understand but does have a quick teaching pace.

Excellent teacher. Many students think he is hard but how easy can you make Trig anyway? He just expects you to know the basics and, if you do, his lectures will be clear and straightforward. People need to stop complaining and do the work.

He is a great professor. One of the best I ever had at Valley College. You really need to like math and like to study. He make you study at least four hours at day. Prof. Marroquin is a professor who teaches in a complete fashion . He teaches the whole aspect of the concept, not just the important part but how you can expect it to come up in the future. Study , come to class and listen you and should fine. Everyone who complains probably complains about all their other teachers as well.

Prof. Marroquin is one of the most intelligent, sophisticated mathematicians out there. The fact that he teaches on a university level which is too difficult for, and completely wasted on, the lazy idiots out there is not his fault. The only way to learn math is by doing it. Students are ill prepared (by their previous teachers!) for advanced math.

Prof. Marroquin is one of the best teachers I ever had. Is not an easy A thou as many other teachers are in Valley. He goes to the point of maths,it's all about paying attention and doing the homework. Tests are based on homework problems and there are not many questions.

Cares about his students alot, but just a little too much. Easy to understand, gives alot of homework. Speaks too much spanish which makes the non spanish speaking students feel excluded during class. Teaches very clearly.

I accept that this is not an easy class 2 take if you are not willing 2 commit 2 it!! its a lot of hard work, an paying atention.....he's a really nice teacher....and really wants to help you get better....but that doesnt mean he's going 2 spoil you!...am actually really greatful 2 him....cuz even though it WAS NOT EASY....i learned a lot!

He is a hard teacher but he is very frendly. He can joke with you.I want to say him thank you. If you pass 105 Math with him it will be easy to go 115. He buld a good fundament of math . Thank you

The best math teach I ever had (had 4 after him). He is NOT easy, but he teachs clearly and concisely. He was the only math teach that really taught "short cuts" to make life easier. He does however give too much homework. Would have taken more classes with him but I moved.

He is great. If u like to LEARN and want to actually do work and learn most of all, take him, everything he teaches us is useful. Those who don't like him is because they didn't show up 2 class @ all and didn't learn a thing, that's why they write those comments!

Great teacher, really shows he cares. Don't be fooled by his toughness.He's like that to push you to do better. I worked hard and got a good grade. Study, do homework, go to class, and it will pay off.

His tests are hard, but fortunately, he grades somewhat generously so that it's not impossible to get an A. He appears frustrated, and he should be, that students are allows to take calculus without a thorough knowledge of domains and synthetic division. I've noticed that he is friendly and intelligent.

Great teacher. He wants the students to do well and he goes out of his way to explain the material. He does give a ton of work, so I would NOT take this class if you have a lot of other things going on in your life. The only drawback is that at the end of the semester, he rushed to finish the book and rushed through material that was difficult.

He is a strict professor, but he will help you when you need help. i passed his class with a B. you need to participate in his class. he lives homework every day. he is the only professor i have had that does not like wasting time . their work every day. cant miss a class because you will miss like two section. Its a awesome class ,but hard to pass

A good teacher! He makes sure that you know what your doing,if you need help he will LOVE to help.If you want to learn,take him.Lots of Hw but its well worth it! He does everything for a reason he does want everybody to participate but he won't force u. he's test are fair only a couple of curve quest. but not that bad.A fair & understanding teacher

Best teacher you'll ever have! He's very thorough & he will try to help you understand as best as he could. He could be strict at times (especially with cellphones in class so TURN IT OFF!) He will try to show you how to solve problems the Marroquin way because it's really easy if you learn it. He could be funny too! Be ready for LOTS of HOMEWORK!

great professor. he make learning math so easy. very considerate and fair grader. I love my math 112 class!

He loves to see his students in class, taking notes. Lots of homework & assigns the odd problems of the section learned. Homework is extra credit, but strongly recommended to pass each test. No calculators allowed, but he does grade on a curve. Going to tutoring in math lab is essential. Nice man with character, integrity and a good sense of humor.

he is a great professor. will not move on until ALL questions have been answered. he does give hw almost everyday and it's a lot of work, but if you have questions he will answer them thoroughly. i really hope to be able to get into his class the upcoming semester

He made it easy for me to understand math. I can fairly say he is the best math professor I had. He loves what he does and he loves to help his students. Because of him (his teaching style/strategy) I am not intimidated with numbers anymore.

He is an awesome professor. If you are accustomed to being spoon fed, rather than taught, you may not want to take him. Lots of HW, which pays off (if u do it). We are all adults, so he treats his students like it. He's a bit aggressive, but clearly knows what he's doing. I recommend him, if you're willing to EARN a good grade!

Here's a simple mathematical equation: Don't skip class + do your homework + study + ask questions = A. Works for me every time. I happen to think he's a great teacher but I get A's whether I like profs or not.

Ha!Should have listened to the warnings about A LOT of homework. If I hadn't had some of this stuff back in the day in high school I would possibly have cried myself to sleep. But he is hilarious in his own way, treating us like he believes we can do better than we think, possibly knowing we don't get it yet. It's a recommend with homework warning!

MY comment is kinda late considering that he's retired now, but to me, this teacher was one of my favorite math teachers. Some folks say he's a little hard to understand, or gives too much hw (which he does), but for some reason I understood the material he gave out and wanted to learn more. He just believes that you can do better!
