Nice teacher, energetic...but expects too much!!
Taught intro to Drama, pants too tight, expected far too much for intro level
One of the best professors. Intersting, relates topic to other fields.
Prof. Giammarco is THE best professor I have had so far in my career at Temple! He is thorough with his teachings as well as interesting.
Amazing. A genuinely kind person; he befriends every student. Very encouraging, creates good discussion.
Very understanding and intelligent. Knows his stuff! Thanks to his class I did well on my Praxis exams to be an English teacher!
One of THE BEST professors at Temple, PERIOD. So helpful to students. grades fairly and applies the subject matter to a variety of topics and makes it relevent to other areas of study. I took 2 of his classes. Wonderful person and great teacher!
One of the best Professors at Temple. If you ever need help, you can go to him and he will go out of his way to help you.
If you're an English major, try to take the film class with someone else. He's so nice and knowledgeable, but he's extremely hard.
Waaaaaaaaaay too hard; cannot be pleased. Always wants more. Impossible papers.
A great teacher, clears up all the stuff they keep telling you that you never understood before.
One of the great professors at Temple. Those who allow themselves will be changed for the better by his knowledge and experience. Can be a tough grader, but sometimes learning is about more than grades. I have gained more from my three classes over the years with him than any other classes.
He was one of the greatest teachers I have had so far at Temple. He was easy but hard at the same time.He gives us a lot of work, but I'm actually learing something instead of reading a bunch of stuff. He is extra nice and tries to get to know all the students. Definatly should take one of his classes
BEST professor I've had so far. You do alot of readings, but they're all discussed so you don't have to analyze it to death. I was never fond of English, but after his class, I learned how people can be, I HIGHLY recommend taking any of his classes.
Awesome dude. It's a tragedy that Temple allowed him to go.....Can't really say much more. Wish him the best.
Far too hard of a grader. Seems really nice in class, then kills you on your paper and doesnt explain what you need to do. Very hard to get his office hours. Im an english major, and he grades these papers harder than all of my english profs do. Stay away from him at all costs. You will never get an A. Arrogant, cocky, and pretentious fit him.
You must buy the books because it helps if you highlight the quotes he refers to. harsh grader, I don't know what an "A" paper would be. Very helpful and he appreciates every comment you make.He will rush the 2nd 1/2 of the sem. b/c he doesnt know how to manage the syllabus. If you dont mind readin 3 books at the same time take him. annoyinng!!!
Pretty hard grader but its not impossible to get an A. He definitely did rush the second half of the semester and we did need all the books. Really appreciates participation in class. Overall, good teacher! :)
He is a great teacher. That is true that you need to learn a lot, and get a lot of hand outs. But the teacher is very interesting and knowledgeble, and has great attitude toward students. Attandence is mandatory. The papers are graded for a long time but grading is fair and just. Be prepared to work hard.
Best professor I've had at Temple. Gets really excited about teaching. Doesn't keep with the syllabus and takes a really long time to grade assignments. Takes time to answer any questions and goes over all material in class. I deffinatley recommend taking him. I looked forward to his class everyday.
The teacher is a very fair grader, extremelly helpfull outside the class. If you like reading and discussion- take him. He gives the chance to revise the paper, which is a very big+.
Giammarco is the most intellegent professor I've had while at Temple thus far. His class is simple, read the books and you'll know what's going on. If you zone off or don't read you'll make yourself look silly when he calls on you. His answers to your questions are very thourough and thoughtful. I'd recommend him to anyone takining IH.
Eh, he's a good, interesting teacher, but seems to be a pretty two-faced guy. He was amazingly kind to me during the first half of the class, but was AWFUL towards the end. The weird thing was that we pretty much never spoke, and I did all of the assignments, so it was very much out of left field.
He is extremely cool and understandable. as soon as you participate and do the work, then it will be easy for you to get a good grade. he is very clear, understand student difficulty and definity not a hard grader. he is pretty fair!
One of the worst instructors I have ever had the misfortune of taking. Journals submit on 2/19/2011; as of 5/1/2011, still neither returned nor graded. He has no time for opinions other than his own, which are shaped by the propaganda assigned. The entire department is a joke and G certainly follows suit. Avoid, unless you want to rip out your hair
This man is the threshold guardian of mosaic. An absolutely wondeful professor who turns a dull class into an interesting one. I am considerably upset I can not have him as my professor for Mosaic II, but I have to say I had an amazing academic experience while under his guidance. If you trust his teachings, you will be happy with your grade.
As I was looking at my professors for next semester, I had to come back and write about this guy. He doesnt understand life very well. He plays favorites and your never quite sure what you are being graded on cause he doesnt follow the syllabus. Mosaics will be even more of a joke with this guy
Professor Giammarco is a great professor. He was helpful if you had any problems and very easy to talk to. He really loves his job and his students - even bringing us cookies and other treats around the holidays. Yes, he does expect you to read but the weekly assignments are never too long. Highly recommend - great guy and made the couse enjoyable
Professor Giammarco is a remarkable man. He truly loves his job and students and he is very kind and a good person. He is very helpful if you have any questions and quick to make sure you understand the material. I love him, he is one of my favorite teachers I have ever had. TAKE HIM! you won't regret it, i promise! His assignments are easy as well
He is a really nice guy, but that doesn't mean the class isn't tough. YOU HAVE to do all the reading or you will fail. Midterm and final were really difficult and I studied to the extremes. Good grade in his class has to be earned, so be warned
Although he means well he is a bit annoying sometimes. however i think he is one of the better IH teachers. as long as you do the readings youll be fine in class. does a couple quizzes that can be a bit hard and the midterm is impossible. only gave us a week to write a paper that was a good portion of our final grade
The only problem of taking him for mosaics is that he is a very hard grader and his exam are impossible. quizzes are pretty hard as well. Grades participation and you have essays and journals to write which are a huge part of your grade.
He was my absolute favorite teacher! I was hoping to have him teach Mosaics 2 as well but unfortunately he does not. A very thorough a person and he is quite forgiving in the way of missing assignments and attendance. As long as you pay attention, take notes, read and participate it is really easy to pass.
Professor Giammarco is my second favorite teacher at Temple. He cares about all of his students and encourages them to receive a passing grade. Attendance is important if you want to succeed and reading the books is not mandatory but I would recommend that you partially read the texts. Contribute and have a positive attitude.
I would definitely recommend Professor Giammarco for mosaics 1/2, as I had the privilege of having him for both. Attendance and participation is stressed in his class, but other than that there is little work and no exams. Reading isn't essential to passing but I recommend skimming the books. He is a sweet guy and tries his best to be engaging.
Very detailed professor when he covers the readings that we have to do each class. The readings are not mandatory, he just goes over them every class and it is a smart idea to skim the readings for main points. Great professor, he cares about his students, very organized, and uses up every minute of the class productively. No exams.
He means well, but this guy was one of the biggest pains in the romp. He acts relatively low maintenance in the beginning; no exams, no midterm, no final. But then he starts to let on how unorganized he really is. Journals are never returned, and he piles it on at the end of the semester to make up for his lack of organization. Avoid if possible!
Wasn't the worst.... Compared to other mosaics profs, G was relatively easy. No midterm or final, 2 easy quizzes. Be prepared to participate, and keep up with a "journal" that needs to be approx. 20 pages by the end of the semester. Honestly, pretty straightforward and easy
Professor G really engages the class, makes funny comments, and will do anything he can to ensure a positive learning experience. He's so passionate, brilliant, and eager to teach his class. All reading material is summarized, expect a few quizzes, and a few short papers based on opinion. Great professor, made it fun (I hate mosaics), easy class.
I loved Professor Giammarco. Little old, conservative guy. No matter what you say during class discussion, he will always agree. That being said, PARTICIPATE. It is essential!! I thought he was pretty fair in grading. You must read the books but all are online, so just know basic things. Really no homework. No midterm or final. Would take again!
Prof G is one of the Mosaics professors that is a good 1. Usually for Mosaics, u can either get a bad 1 or a good 1, I was fortunate to get a good 1. He keeps the class pretty fast paced which keeps u focused, but makes it interesting and fun. He is very approachable and makes the classroom environment comfortable. Expect to participate a good bit.
Okay teacher, does NOT put any grades in Blackboard until final grades are released. Quizzes are kinda hard, you need to read to pass the class and participation is 30% of your grade, so speak up! No midterm or final, just some group participation, about 10 quizzes, and a final paper. Attendance is important, so don't count on skipping.
Learn to voice your own opinions before taking this class. He values you as an up-and-coming individual, which is a rare gem in the acres of diamonds at Temple. On the flip side, however, he cares to a fault and takes it personally if you do not validate his effortsideals. Show him that you can be prepared each class without a BBpage.
Giammarco is a great teacher. You are expected to do the readings and participate in class, but the workload is very light compared to other professors. There is no midterm and final, and only one final paper. You have to keep a journal throughout the semester but it is opinion based. He is a nice guy and he even brought us food a few times!
Passionate prof. He explains every single concept in depth. Gives 3 quizzes and give the answer to a few if nobody can answer. Don't use your phone in class, otherwise he will call on you and you won't know what to answer... If the whole class do good, final will be just a 3 pages paper which is allowed to write in 2 days but it was manageable.
He started out awesome but as the semester went on he got kind of rude. He yelled at me for taking notes once. The class is a gen ed, and he teaches it like one, so prepare for boredom.
This professor truly cares about his students, is willing to make extensions as he cares about the quality of the work he asks for. Not being huge into books, this professors draws your attention, makes you want to come to class and actually pay attention. Amazing, nice professor. You really will not regret!!!
Professor Giammarco was a great guy! He truly cared about the class and kept you engaged with questions. The reading is very easy and there are a few quizzes that you need to take on the books you read. Attendance is mandatory after 3 excused skips which is the only downside of this class.
Good professor overall, very interesting makes class worth it. really enjoyed having him, quizzes are kind of hard but he really does his best to make sure you understand the material. very understanding and easy to reach through email, highly recommend. only downside is he doesnt upload grades to blackboard
Terrible. Quizzes are really hard. But he makes it seem like they will be easy. Other than the quizzes and the way he grades papers, it would be easy. Work load is really light but the quizzes are obnoxiously hard.
Lectures were engaging, asks a lot of questions so be prepared to participate. Quizzes were difficult, and he makes it seem like they were easy. Definitely a tough grader, especially on essays. No midterms or finals, just two papers (so if you scew them up, then you already screw up ur overall grade) Don't posts grades on Blackboard/Canvas.
Really hard and unorganized quizzes. No clear grading criteria or grade tracking. Only "C" I have ever received in a course in my life, and it was for Mosaics I, where most of the readings were ones I'd already read in previous classes. This should speak somewhat to the randomness and disorganization as a prof. Nice man, would not ever recommend.
Giammarco was so cool. His quizzes aren't that bad. Just write down everything he says and you'll do well on them. He doesn't give a midterm or final, but he substitutes two papers for them which he grades pretty easily. You do have to read a decent amount but he only makes you read the interesting parts of books. I would take him again 100%
I do NOT recommend this professor. The only good things about this class were the readings were not bad and we only had one writing assignment. This professor does not have a Blackboard or Canvas. So you're left to guess what your grade might be at the end of the semester. Class discussion is a guessing game of saying what he thinks is right.
This professor doesn't have a blackboard of canvas so its pretty much impossible to get an idea of how you're doing until final grades come out. I emailed him before the end of the semester out of concern of my grade, and never received a reply. A good person, but I wouldn't take again.
literally had no grades for most of the semester, there was one text and one essay. also not very good at discussions, always is looking for a super specific word or phrase. also made me anxious bc he would always repeat his question 5 times and knock on his desk if nobody answered. very boring as well, all we did in class was read out loud.
An organized and relatively easy going professor. You do have to participate but he breaks the books down a lot to make it easier for you. Lectures are clear and coherent and easy to follow.
Grades based on what HE thinks is correct, to the point where even if you use a synonym of the word he marks you wrong. Never gets what he wants to get done finished by the end of class, so you'll have to do a lot on your own. Will NEVER cancel class, even if he's after 15 minutes late to his 50 minute class. Inconsiderate of mental disabilities.
There is no room for freedom of interpretation. All he wants is for you to give him the exact answer he wants. His quizzes are unreasonably hard. Whenever you ask him your grade, he doesn't give you straight answer. I might be pulling the only C I've gotten this semester and I wouldn't know because he doesn't even have a canvas page.
Giammarco was incredible and super inspiring. I think he really got me interested in things I wouldn't otherwise be interested in. I would take him again 100% and suggest him to other people.
I wish I had more words to explain why you should not take this class. I expect a decent grade, but the time in class feels like a nightmare. Giammarco does nothing but ask brain-numbingly easy questions and knocks on his desk until somebody gives the exact answer he wants. You can only speak after raising your hand, and he almost never sees anyway
I love having Professor Giammarco for IH, I would definitely have him a professor again. Class is heavily based reading (as expected for IH), but he keeps it interesting w/ engaging the students. He genuinely cares for his students and leaves an inspiring mark. As long as you participate here & there, & do the readings for the class, you'll be good
Probably the nicest Professor I've ever had. He's very lenient and wants all his students to succeed. The class was fairly easy and he really just wanted students to discuss the readings. We didn't have many assignments to hand in and only 2 papers and one exam.
Very nice guy who cares very much about his students and what he teaches. You usually have a section of reading and some questions to keep in mind for every class. You HAVE to participate/show up during class to earn credit. Not a lot of homework, but a couple papers. As long as you read and do the assignments (there's not many) you will get an A.
DIdnt enjoy the course but nice guy. Participation is necessary as well as he goes around and asks random people for answers. Be prepared and it should be okay.
Professor Giammarco is very kind and respectful towards his students. He is understanding if you are unable to make it to class, although he does urge you to try to be there on time. There is very little homework, aside from the readings required. There is a large emphasis on participation, with many open class discussions that make you think.
I really liked taking this course. I learned pretty much everything in class, not much left to read at home. Would recommend him to anyone!
Do yourself a favor and take Prof. Giammarco. He's very caring and super nice. All of the readings are available on canvas. Make sure you participate and you should be good. About 2 papers, and is an easy grader.
super super nice guy. class was a bit dull but he cares about what he teaches and wants to hear your opinion.
I took him for IH0851 and Im taking him again for IH0852. His class is really easy if you participate. Hes extremely caring and thoughtful, reminds me of a grandparent. The people saying its a dull class likely did not participate/engage in thoughtful discussion. IH is going to be boring if you dont think for yourself
This was my favorite professor this semester. There were 3 graded assignments total. This is a discussion based class so no homework just show up and talk. He does a great job in making everyone feel comfortable and encourages everyone to participate. If you participate at least a couple times a class, your A is secured.
Really nice guy and you can tell he appreciates those who participate in class discussions. We only had 3 formal grades while everything else was based on participation so this class is a very easy A. I plan to take him again !
One of the best professors at Temple- the readings are all connected to each other and professor truly guides you through the readings step by step. There are some in-class readings/assignments- the class is an easy pass if you do the reading & put in the work, so grateful to have taken his class this semester.
Professor Giammarco is such a kind and caring professor and as long as you participate you will have no problem doing well. I 100% recommend taking his class.
This dude is so nice, talks fast but always goes over the readings. Although there are few things to be graded on and i don't think he would ever give an 100%. The only reason i'm not taking him again is bc his class is at 8am.
Professor Giammarco is the best professor I've had throughout my academic career. His class isn't too difficult, and he is very lenient and understanding when it comes to work. There are only a few graded assignments, all of which are papers, but they're nothing too crazy or difficult. Participation is a big part of the class, but he makes it fun.
He's THE BEST!!! He doesn't give out crazy homework most of IH is reading the books but they're pretty good reads and lecture is the best. I had him at 8am and he still managed to keep me up with his lectures. Very understand prof as well if you communicate with him. Taking him again for IH 2!!!
Professor Giammarco is a great professor. He is super smart and extremely funny. I had his class at 8 in the morning and he made it very enjoyable for being that early. I will say be ready to read, however, that it is just because the course is about reading. I absolutely loved him and his class.
I enjoy sitting through his class discussions as he always manages to keep the entire class interested and participating from start to end. You can tell he genuinely cares about his students. His homework is mainly made up of reading and some quick 5-minute assignments, and only has a few papers throughout the semester.
One of the greatest teachers I’ve ever had in my life. He’s genuinely so passionate about what he’s teaching and is very intelligent and it radiates in the classroom. You’re basically forced to participate (but not in a bad way) in very easy conversation with him and the class and he makes sure you really understand the material. 12/10
If you're looking for an easy class to fulfill your IH requirement, I would select this class. You can get away with not reading the books if you pay attention in class and take notes. He does expect all students to participate but if you just pay attention and listen to what your other classmates say, you should be fine.
Giammarco is definitely a very interesting guy but this makes the class enjoyable. He reviews content every class so even if you don't read the books, its hard to not know whats going on. He never gives out 100%, but still gives mostly A's and B's so he is not tough in that regard. Super nice guy and clearly cares about his students and teaching.
the sweetest and kindest IH professor at Temple. if you have the opportunity to take him for IH you should
I absolutely adore him. This is my second course with him and I am genuinely sad it is my last. He genuinely cares for his students and makes me look forward to coming to class. You must participate but he makes it fun. Only 4 writing assignments total: 2, 3-4 page papers and 2, 1-1 1/2 page papers.
one of my favorite professors ive had so far. suuuper understanding and caring and overall just a super good guy! you can easily get away with not doing the readings as long as you pay attention in class, and we only had a few writing assignments the entire semester! definitely recommend!!
Maurizio is hands down the best professor I have ever taken in my entire college career. If there is one thing you can do at Temple to make your experience better it is to take intellectual heritage 1 and 2 with him. Do not take any other professor but. He is an amazing person, professor, and role model.
Be sure to be prepared for each class to participate. Super easy to follow along in the lecture and will help you answer questions. Emails back fairly quickly. Respects everyone. Not an intimidating prof at all. If you miss class, email him to receive a detailed list of what you missed. 12/10 prof.
Professor Giammarco is the sweetest guy and nicest professor. Participation matters a ton so go to class. Barely makes you read and all books are provided. Grading for papers can be slow but only 4 and very very easy. Nice grader and makes class enjoyable. Quizzes in class aren't graded and no tests. Nothing bad to say just a great IH teacher.
Prof. Giammarco is probably one of the best professors I've taken at Temple. He's very kind and understanding and wants his students to succeed. The class is very discussion-heavy, and everyone's expected to participate. He recaps a lot of material at the beginning of every class, so everyone is on the same page. Taking a course with him is a must!
Very organized! His lectures take up class and participation is expected, but he reviews material frequently and includes students in discussion without intimidation. Teaches IH how it should be taught--- always mentioning past and present media and pointing out consistent themes. also just a nice guy and clearly cares about the material/students
I took Professor Giammarco for 0851 and 0852, and he was the best professor I have had at Temple. He cares about his students, provides great feedback on the (few) papers he assigns, and genuinely wants everyone to succeed. Class is heavy on participation but as long as you take notes on the material it's fairly easy to respond.
He is a great professor. The only issue I had with him was that he waited until the end of the semester to grade everything so I did not know how I was doing throughout the course itself. He encourages you to think and participate (does not force participation unless it's a mandatory activity). He even brought treats to class for us a few times.
Prof. Giammarco is literally the sweetest guy on the face of this earth. He is super understanding with everything and the class is not hard at all. He reviews everything that we need to know in the beginning of almost every single class.
Professor Giammacro is one of the best professors. Yes, attendance and participation matters, but he makes it so easy to join the conversation. I just read lit charts, listened in class, and completely understood everything going on. very little hw assignments, few short papers and one midterm. hes really caring and kind. helps you understand
Great professor! Does not require any books, he gives you pdf versions of everything. Class is all discussion based, and you are graded on participation, but its easy to participate. There is maybe 3-4 homework assignments total. He does randomly call on people but if you dont know the answer he helps you out. He's is a super great guy!
Insane amount of homework, cold calls, and to top everything off he had us take a 50 question midterm on all of the passages we read during the semester with 95% of them being open ended and multi part open ended at that. If you got a single part wrong on the open ended you would receive no credit. I recommend staying away from this professor.
Giammarco is a really sweet and understanding guy, although I will say his class is pretty difficult. There is a LOT to read, but it's important for the class discussions, which is what most classes are. I will say that he grades based on only a few assignments, so if you do bad on one, you cannot recover. I still say take him though!!
I learned so much in this class about mythology and comprehension, but you will have to read A LOT! Professor is an eloquent speaker and he is very kind but you have to make efforts, in attendance and participation or he will call you out.
Very sweet professor with genuine intentions, but grades quite difficult and gives sub-par feedback. Graded most of the assignments at the end of the semester, so there was little room for improvement. Super caring and passionate, but definitely difficult.
Professor Giammarco is one of the sweetest professors on this campus! He's kind, intelligent, and dresses so well. He has brought in treats for everyone and lifted our spirits when unfortunate events happened outside of classroom. Make sure to participate and take notes - it's crucial to be proficient in each text you read over the semester.
very interactive and keeps the class engaged, fast-ish paced, mandatory participation sometimes, always stresses what he wants you to know for the paper/exam
Very easy class, but not recommended with this prof. Very subjective when grading. Lots of assignments i.e. 3 essays, 1 midterm, 1 final. Last minute grading, does not end up benefitting the student. Participation matters although participation can take on many forms but he specifically wants u to share ideas. easy class, bad prof, would avoid.
Never Take this prof. Worst prof. I have seen in my life.
I usually suck at showing up to class, but I went to every single one for this professor. He's probably one of the best IH professors at Temple. While there is a lot of reading, that's the case in any IH class and he reviews everything so even if you don't understand you can still follow along. He's caring and participation makes it so much better.
Easily one of my favorite profs so far. For best results, complete the readings faithfully and be ready to answer a lot of questions. It's a short class so just give it your all when you're there, especially because there's rarely actual homework. He's a good guy who you can talk to honestly.
DO NOT LISTEN TO THESE NICE REVIEWS. All these students saying nice things gotta zip up Maurizios pants. Dude takes ih so seriously. My worst grade I got last semester was in his class and it's a gened. You will go into it thinking it's gonna be easy but he makes it difficult and acts like he's teaching the answers to life. I despise this guy
This class has taught me nothing except for how not to run a classroom. Cold calling students, rejecting synonyms for answers, month taken to grade a paper, no clear outlining of due dates in the syllabus, critical thinking seems to be rejected in this class as you are expected to just parrot back what the prof says, no room for actual discussion
He is way too intense for a class that should be an easy A. Way to much work and hours put into a should be simple course. Do not take unless you want to spend hours a week on IH.
Does not post anything on Canvas and grades everything last minute. Assigns things last minute until the end of the semester (3 papers, 1 midterm, 1 final NO CONFIRMED DATES ON SYLLABUS). Forces students to participate and give HIS own ideas/concepts back at him. Attendance is mandatory and you WILL miss something if you're gone with NO reference.
Professor is nice and engaging but exams are incredibly hard. The exams are all open ended and the answers are all his own opinions and thoughts on the books he assigns. He grades everything super last minute and cold calls during class.Participation matters and he grades harshly.Last minute assignments and takes forever to tell students due dates
Easily one of the worst professors I've taken. He gives 3 papers and 3 tests which are on paper and his grading is extremely strict. Doesn't follow the syllabus and takes forever to grade. Also if u don't raise your hand for every question he asks, be prepared to get a low participation grade. Don't recommend.
People giving bad reviews are the same people who don't read the material. If you read the material and go to class, you should be fine. Participation is a significant portion of your final grade, but he only really asks for ideas/examples. Use the study guides for exams. Occasional papers. Great guy, you just need to put effort into his class.
Most stressful class ever been in. cold called during every single class and when you dont know the answer he makes sly remarks to make you feel bad about yourself for not being prepared. You have to participate and be prepared for every single class or you wont get above an 80 on participation. No guidelines for papers so very hard to get an A.
I had to withdraw because I was in a hit and run accident while crossing the street. Proffesor never sent any notes. or gave me extra time even when I had a broken wrist. IH 0851 is meant to be a writing/ discussion based class if u want to take 3 50 question written tests go ahead. Friends took other professors and got easy 90s. Dont recommend
Taking this course was a major regret of mine. For a course that you are required to take that has nothing to do with your major he takes it wayy to seriously. If you are 5 mins late he gets upset with you and points it out, and it effects your participation grade and didnt even give us the entire class period for the final, to talk about the paper
Didnt give us the entire period for the final so we could talk about the final paper. Attandance is very important to him if youre 5 mins late he points it out and f you continue he will take points off of your participation and he will make sure to call on you if he sees you not paying attention which in turn makes you lose more points.
I don't understand why people don't like him. All you do is go to class and the readings. You signed up to be here, why are you complaining about doing schoolwork at school? He's really nice and really enjoys teaching and engaging students. That's his job and your job is simply to go to class. Stop being lazy
The workload is manageable if you keep up with the readings and participate actively. unstuck AI proved to be a valuable study aid alongside the provided materials. Though grading can be strict, the professor is engaging and willing to clarify concepts.
Prof. Giammarco says "very much so" at least 10 times a class. His expectations for work were unclear and his attendance policy was far too strict. He canceled my final two hours before it was scheduled and gave me a very hard time about rescheduling when I could not make the rescheduled date. A very difficult professor but overall an easy class.
Giammarco is my favorite professor I have ever had. The class is actually very interesting if you actually participate, which does matter in his class. He engages with students and is very kind when you ask questions. I have his class early in the morning, and I go to it every day.
I loved Professor Giammarco! At first, I was a little hostile due to the reviews he received in this app. However, I am so glad I did not let them get the best of me. He is kind, passionate, and a professor who truly cares for your education. I have learned a lot from his class, and each book has been quite interesting! I would 100% take again.
He is very nice and cares about his students opinions. This professor is not for you if you don't like participating in class because the majority of it is him asking the class questions. This also means you need to do the readings so you have something of value to say. Not a lot of assignments so it is important to do good on them when assigned
He is so interesting if you actually listen to him and engage yourself. If you don't like participating and answering questions, you will struggle. His quizzes and short papers are really easy if you pay attention, and he makes sure you understand the material being read. Not much homework other than review. Says "very much so" a lot lol.
he is very kind and you can tell he is passionate about what he teaches. he encourages everyone to participate and will often go around the room so that everyone speaks, it makes the course more engaging. the tests arent too difficult either. i would def take a class with him again!
I took this professor for IH. He is a very kind professor and he wants to see his student succeed. This class is very reading heavy and participation heavy; you will be fine if you read the chapters. If you miss a day, he will pull you aside to talk about it, but he is very kind about it. As long as you read, you will pass.
