She is a very good teacher, very helpful and always asks if you understand the material. She does have a pretty strong Indian accent, but not so that you can;t understand her. I thought she explained the material very clearly.

Ms. Maulik was one of the best math teachers I have ever had. She is very easy going and really wants to make sure that the students understand the material. I actually enjoyed going to her class! Definitely recommend.

The only thing I didn't like about the class was the mandatory online tutoring segment, but that could be gone next quarter. She has a very deep Indian accent, but it's understandable.

She will work with you until you understand....would recomend her to anybody. She goes at a good pace and cares about each student. Gives 3 test's and a quiz one time a week she will drop the lowest scoring test and quiz at the end of the quarter. Great teacher! Accent is a little difficult to understand, nothing major.

She'll take time after class if you need it and she answers all questions very clearly. Don't skip class cuz you cover a lot of information each day and it all builds on each other.

Professor Maulik is great. At first when I had her for Math 80 I was worried that I wouldnt be able to understand her but it got better quickly. I took her again for Math 85 and she has inspired me to continue on with Math. I highly recommend her for students that are anxious about math. I overcame my fear based on her teaching style.

Masaumi is one the most understanding teachers I have ever had at BCC. She takes her time with you and helps you figure out where you went wrong on a problem instead of just giving you the answer and leaving you to figure out where you went wrong at. I really enjoyed her in 80 and in 98 I wish she was teaching 99.

Mausumi is so helpful and nice. She will explain a concept in different ways until you understand it. She can recognize why a person's not getting something and work around it. She helped me get the highest grade in my class, which is something I did not even think was possible. Mausumi rocks!

I am a 40 year old returning to school and had forgotten most of the math I had learned in HS. I was afraid of taking the class but because of Prof. Maulik, I ended up loving math. She not only made it fun but easy to understand. I would highly recommend you do everything in your power to have her as a teacher.

She is incredible. hands down. Her heavy accent is distracting, but she explains things very slow and thorough. I reccomend her at all costs, she really wants to help you learn and will do anything to help you figure the problems out correctly BY YOURSELF. Mrs. Maulik has a heavy acsent and she is not always cystal clear on what she wants, but she gives many helpfull in class assignments which are problems simmilar to the ones you will see on the tests and at the beggining of each class she explains problems from "last nights" homework so that helps alot. You cannot go wrong with Mrs. Maulik

Mausumi is a wonderful teacher. She puts her students first from the first day until the last day of class. I've had her for two diff. math classes and her explanations are always clear and helpful. Her accent was never a problem; I only heard her mis-pronounce one word all qtr. If you struggling with Algebra consider taking her 094 class.

Great teacher. She knows what she is doing and if you don't understand something she will explain without making you feel dumb. Attendance and homework is a must, but you'll be thankful for that in the end. if you're bad at math take her it will help tremendously.

If you're struggling in Algebra I totally recommend taking 094 with Mausumi Maulik. She really cares about her students and is always available to help you in any way she can. She has a mild accent but you get used to her after the first couple of days. Her explanations of algebraic concepts are very user-friendly. She is the best math teacher!

One of my favorite math professors at BC! She is extremely helpful! Gives you the most basic concept problems on the exams. HW is collected, but is graded on completion. HW are basically free points if you do it. Very good at explaining the concepts! If I didn't take MATH141 and 142 with her I wouldn't be succeeding in MATH 151 right now

I'm surprised that somebody complained about only 10% of homework. It is actually a free one since you have to practice anyway to be good at math. Ms. Maulik is a very good and easy going teacher. She explained materials much clearer than textbook. She was patient and not annoyed when I asked her questions (not like some teacher I had before).

I guess easy isn't the best way to describe her class, but she makes hard topics easy to understand and master. Really good at explaning things in plain English, not "math speak." I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't love her class, she does a lot extra to help you succeed and do your best. Definitely take her class if you can.

This is the 1st math class I actually passed with a very good grade. Professor Maulik way of teaching is easy to understand. She explains math that even a someone who is not a math genius can understand. There is a short quix every week on sections covered. Show up to class/take notes and you will pass. I highly recommend this class!

Maulik is great. Had her for three different Math levels. 138 is about applications and specific formulas for everyday. Easy if you took 99 and got an A. If you dont know basic Algebra, this is not a class for you. She presents material and makes it easy to uderstand. Some sections challanging but she is avail. for help. No E.C. but its math.

Lots of people complain about her accent, but you don't even notice it after a while. She's staight forward and clear, and very helpful if you need it. She really wants students to succeed, but doesn't sacrifice time in the long run. She's a good mix of helpful and strict.

Mrs. Maulik was an awesome math instrtor. I came into the class with a good base of Algebra, but was still worried because I was a running start student that never took a college math class. She is extremely helpful, clear, and overall a great teacher. Always answers questions. Wish she taught 099 and Pre calc. Hope to take 138 with her sometime.

She explains the material clearly, and offers group assignments regularly in class (so sit near the front next to the smart people). She is very generous with not taking off points on tests and every test has extra credit. She weights your grade with or without homework, so you can chose to do it or not. (DO IT!) I tested from 097 to 138. A.

After having terrible experience with Russian instructor Kashinskaya, Ms.Maulik seems to be the best math instructor- clear explanations of topics, optional homework and extra credits every test, full answers for questions. What else do you need?! I wish I took all math classes with this lady.

I would strongly recommend Mausumi Maulik to anyone taking Calc 151 at Bellevue. She was very clear in her presentation of the materials, and was able to simplify it so everyone could gain a thorough understanding. Prior to every test, she gives a review worksheet. Her tests are no more difficult than the material she presents.

She sometimes talks to herself. (but cute tho) she is really clear and explaining every question, and is willing to go over again if u need her. She's really helpful, shes always there for u. do go see her during office hrs, she would love to help you. Overall i do recommend talking her class. cuz if she teach cal 2 ill differently go for it.

Professor Maulik's class is not an easy one. She knows the material and she makes it absolutely clear what to study. She gives you review sheets with answers so you can study - she also does example problems in class. She doesn't take attendance, but she will give out random worksheets with credit you must be in class to receive.

Love her. I hate math but she made me want to come to class and made learning concepts easy, definitely take her Daily homework, took late work. Counts participation points even if you come late, provides worksheets that are similar to the test, she explains new concepts perfectly in a way everyone can understand. Def will take her for more classes

I really liked her teaching. She was very helpful to the students. 3 tests, all very fair. For the final, your final exam score will replace your lowest test score. Definitely try to take her if you take Calc 151.

Mausumi is singlehandedly the best math teacher I have ever had, she is incredibly nice and helpful. There is online homework almost daily but she accepts late work and it isn't significantly difficult also 3 tests+final. She explains every concept perfectly and makes sure everyone understands. I dont usually rate teachers but this is an exception!

I've never been to a college math class yet where I've laughed so much. She makes math so fun and clear. Calculus is not an easy subject, study hard and be serious like any class and you'll do great. I honestly have not opened the book much because she does so many practice problems it helps so much.

Mausumi is very good at teaching even though she speaks with an accent. We had only 3 test and a final exam, which weren't hard as long as you were doing homework. Btw homework is online. Attendance is mandatory, but it will only help you. Her explanations are very clear and she does everything to help you understand the subject.

The teacher gave many quick clear examples in class. I would advise attending all classes. A few pop up, in class assignments. lots of homework on "Webassign" which was at times hard to work with. Answers any questions in class well. Does not hesitate in her lecturing. Does not cover antiderivatives. Provides practice tests which really help.

Her lectures are very clear and easy to understand. There's homework assigned usually due on Monday nights . She also hands out test reviews, which no other professor does. The textbook isn't necessary, all homework is on webassign. She allows late assignments if you have a legitimate reason, just talk to her. Would definitely take again!

Online homework so unless you want a textbook just buy an online one (it's cheaper). She gives a lot of examples in class. Tests are usually not that hard if you study carefully each chapter. She give extra credits every test. Have in-class assignments so you should be there. She's nice.

I took algebra 2 in high school, and this class just basically elaborates on what was taught in Algebra 2. So, as long as you do the online homework and study from time to time, you will easily get an A or a B

I have a learning disability and 1st day of class I was in a panic that her thick accent would be a barrier. It was, but as the quarter went on, I was dialed into to her dialect. Mausumi is really funny and cares about your success, however, the giggling and side conversations were a distraction for me and I wish she had been firm with students.

Mausumi is a fantastic teacher. Just pay attention in class, and take good notes. Tests are worth 40 points in Math 141, but she always has 2 points of extra credit on each one. There are five tests, one can be dropped and then the final. You do not need textbook, but you do need MyMathLabs, where you'll have around 30 easy questions due each week.

Mausumi is a great math teacher. She is very knowledgable, and it was pretty easy for me to follow along in class. If anyone had a question, she would do her best to answer. If you take notes in class, do your homework, and study/work through the worksheets she hands out before each test, you won't have any difficulties in this class.

I loved taking math141 with her last quarter, although two of the tests were definitely more hard than the others, she drops your worst test at the end of the quarter! Her accent was a little hard to understand at first, but was not a problem what so ever. Would definitely recommend her.

I am having to retake calculus and I am so glad I took it with Prof Maulik! She reviews concepts you have learned in past math classes and explains how they relate to calculus every time they come up, whether its from pre-calc or algebra. I have never enjoyed or been good at math and I found this class fairly easy.

Such a great teacher! It is not an easy class, and she does have difficult tests, but the instructor does her best to help out students and prepare you. Only negative is that there are some questions on the tests that you have never seen but thats it.

Overall a very good professor, the class is really hard but she explains things very well. She drops your lowest test and quiz but the final is 25% of your grade. There's a quiz or test every Friday and homework is due every Monday.

The class was very hard but she explained everything well in her lectures. Just make sure to show up every day, it's really hard to catch up if you miss a few classes and start falling behind. She drops the lowest quiz and test, but the final is worth a lot of your grade.

Mausumi was extremely patient when going over material and she was very good at explaining everything step by step. She makes sure you get a lot of repetition in class and on homework so you actually get it down. She was also willing to stay after class or meet during office hours if anyone needed extra help. One of the best math teachers I've had.

Mausumi is has been by far the best math teacher I have taken at bellevue college, she gives multiple examples of problems in class so you can do your HW which was great as many teachers to not do so, exams were fairly not that hard you just need to do all the HW so you can memorize how to do the problems. I would Highly recommend her.

This is an excellent teacher. She organized, she responds fast and has 2 ways to communicated and make very planned fun out lectures and is an updated professor who keeps up with the technology. Please take her, she will make it very easy for you to understand. Keep in mind that you have to work hard to pass.

Summer quarter can be very difficult due to the shortened length of classes, but Mausumi does a great job to make it accessible and easier to manage. She is accessible out of class, and is willing to work with you if you have any real-life issues interfering with class. Would take her again if she taught any classes relevant to my degree!

Professor Maulik is such an amazing teacher. I took this class to refresh some basics before moving on and I couldnt be any happier choosing this teacher to help me do that. Asynchronous pre-calc was lots of work, definitely knowledgeable but the teaching style didn't work very well for me. Very fast and not a lot of time to process. Lots of self teaching and a tutor was my savior. The grading system is very organized and reasonable, but if you fall behind there's not much you can do to catch up.

You can really tell she wants her students to suceed. She provides a lot of information and is very helpful. There is a lot of homework but it really does help cement the concepts in your head. Overall, I would say she is very caring and focused on teaching.

Maulik's canvas was very well organized, she replied quickly to emails, & was accommodating. She accepted late work & honored my accommodations. You can find a PDF of the textbook online to use w the online pearson homework- it's super slow & hard to navigate. Her recorded lectures are long, use pearson's online video how-tos!

Professor Maulik knows her stuff. Yes, her class is a lot of work, but she genuinely cares about you learning the material. I really suggest studying the worksheets because those are basically the exams. While I watched all the videos and did all the hw, studying the worksheets got me an A+. Without a doubt would take another class with her again!!

Prof. Maulik runs a structured class, but is approachable if you engage with the material. The online components like Pearson and quizzes help prep for the challenging tests. Unstuck Study AI was a lifesaver for me - highly recommend using it alongside the textbook.
