One of the smartest guys. real hard but a good class for education.
Max Kadir is the best Prof. I ever had. I had him my first semester. I thank God every day, because if it were not for me, I doubt I would be graduating in December!! He is the ONLY Prof. I had that I would reccommend to EVERYONE!!!

Not specific with his materials. He has a strong accent that no one can make clear of what he's explaining. Dont take this Taliban. He's out to take out his fustration on American Students because of the war on Iraq. He only favors middle eastern students
Kadir is very difficult to understand. He is very nice, but when it comes to questioning your grade, you are wasting your time. He doesn't comment or advise. He is the toughest professor I've had in 3 years

Very hard teacher. Does not explain what you should study for on tests, and does not explain exactly what he wants for the term paper.
Prof. Kadir is one of the best professors at John Jay College, he is very clear on what he wants in his classes and all you have to do is listen to his instrutions.

Can relate.. Yes I got a good grade in his class, but its true you have to butter him up to get a good grade. He is into favorites. If you want a good grade you have to go to his office occassionally and talk to him. Let him no you exist. No Joke..

His exams involve a lot of writing and he is a tough grader. To get a good grade you have to recopy large chunks of the textbook back on the exam. However, there aren't many surprises and you'll know what you need to study-there'll just be a lot of it.
He is the nicest professor I've ever had. He does not give any written assignments, besides the 3 take home exams. If you are nice to him, he will reward you with a good grade.
Said one thing, and did another. First words to us were "I expect graduate level work." Keep in mind that this is an introductory level course. I wouldnt suggest this class to anyone.
very intimidating class. he is full of knowledge. in order to earn a good grade make sure you participate and bring good ideas into the classroom. tough grader on exams but very fair in his assesment of a final grade. take him if your interested in learning and not just passing a test

he ended up giving me a incomplete saying i answered the final wrong i came in to show him info proving i didn't even one of his collegues called him out on it and gave me a b+ so i wouldn't go to his boss for giving me so much trouble. he wont read your papers the best grade you'll recieve is a C

This is a very good professor. Expects a lot form students but test students on their analytical abilities not on their memorizational skills. If you want to have your brain enticed and learn to think differently and outside of the box, then i recommend this professor.

I could not believe the comments that I read about this prof. He is challenging and expects a lot from his students, and this makes him "certifiable"? If you want to do some critical thinking and to come out a better student, then take Kadir's class.
As said below, you want to ruin your GPA, take Kadir! I am on the dean's list for 3 years and this is not challanging! He simply enjoys making students' life misrable! If you go to his office or buy him coffee every morning, you might get a better grade...YUCK!

very intelligent professor. I learned a great deal about the muslim religion and its political structures. The class was invigorating. He is not a boring professor nor is he hard. Do the papers and an oral presentation, attend class regularly and you will recieve a grade of no less than a B.

All those ppls that wrote that stuff is full of it. It and to this day one of the most easy classes i have taken a jj. He is so nice and cool...you dont do no work..just make sure you conversate in class and he knows your name thats it.

A complete nightmare. On term papers and exams, he has an objection to everything you write. Typical republican; uncaring to the students. Does not find personally time to help the students when requested. He just reads off the text book as a class lecture, beyond boring. Does not want to see us succeed! I hate professors like this!

This professor was so horrible! He objected to every opinion one had. His opinion and his beliefs were all that mattered in his class and was shown when he gave papers.would heavily critique ones comments and grades low mainly because it was not his view. He would put one down publically in class.I actually like government and he made me hate it!

I dropped his class after awhile because like many of the other responders said he is very close minded. He reads out of the text like it is the word of god and only likes the few lap dogs in the class. His take home papers were horrible. I am a 3.5 GPA student and have never had such a terrible professor.He came off as pompous and a small man.
Man, this guy is too much. Sure, his class CAN be tough, however, if he sees students participating & seem to be doing just fine, he'll be like a buddy to you. My advice is to do your reading he assign, as well as the writing assignment, and he'll just give you a grade that you'll be satisfied with. He never gives HW. Kadir is the man.
Dr Kadir is the BEST TEACHER AT CUNY. Do your work and participate and this guy will do anything for you. He not only was the easiest professor I have ever had, he was also the moderator of some great class discussions. Hands down he was the man, easiest grader, best guy ever!
It was obvious that he did not really want to be teaching this online class. We hardly did anything all semester and he hardly posted on the message board and never answered my emails. He ended the class two weeks early and I can safely say this was the biggest waste of my tuition dollars at John Jay.

I got an A, and I did not deserve it. Basically, you just have to suck up to this professor, smile, raise your hand once in a while, and agree with him, and you get an A. But if you don't play the game, as some of my classmates didn't, he can be rude and occasionally nasty. NOT a good teacher, NOT an asset to John Jay, that's sure.
This guy gets all the stuff from the book, so he reads his notes, you must participate in his class so he remembers your name, he has mood swings one semester he is a tough grader one very easy. Midterm, Paper, Final exam, none of them easy, but he is very friendly and funny guy but not an easy class lot of reading and participation needed.
TOTAL ****. This guy will assign things, and then not collect them. Then he'll give tests that the entire class fails. Then he'll just make up your final grade out of the blue. He is a disgrace to a college that has a decent name. DO NOT take him under any circumstances. He is a pompus, arrogant prick who shold be fired immediately.
If he were teaching a grad course, I would understand his teaching methods. He is a nice guy, but assigns reading and expects you to learn on your own. He barely reviews the readings in class, he only reads his summaries of the chapters. He commuted this semester twice a week from Virginia, some days he comes in pissed off. Not a motivating teacher

First of all, he makes you do all sorts of assignments, then NEVER collects them. When someone has a question, he rarely actually gives you an answer. Oh and don't call him or email him because he told us right from the start that he doesn't respond to either of them!! He IS a nice guy to talk to, but not such a great teacher.
Such a joke. Will end the class at least 30 minutes earlier when he doesn't just make you show up to drop a paper then says you can go. Gives you take home exams that make no sense, tells everyone not to worry that no one will fail, never gets of his xxx, just reads off his laptop. I should have read his rating before taking it.

This guy is something else. His assignments are confusing as all hell, he grades them incredibly harsh, and finally pulls a grade out of his ass according to how he personally feels about you. Horrible text! Just dont take him all together, you might get a high grade, but still, not worth it...Not at all...( I got a B :D)

This professor is a nice guy. He just wants you to read and memorize alot. Im having alot of trouble with this class and i still got a month and a half....great person.. he expects whats supposed to be done and i feel him.. The concepts are hard and you have to want to read and learn and apply different concept and theorys together.
Dr Kadir is a great professor. he grades heavily on class participation and your knowledge of the subject area verbally. he gives three tests na and one research paper per semester. he is a great professor take him if you like thinking outside the box and want a good great for all you work and efforts.
dont do this to yourself. hes horrible. my class started out with like 50 and ended up with 20 because everyone dropped him. hes the worst professor ive ever seen in my life.
Max Kadir Ph.D is an excellent professor. he is caring, and wants all his students to excel in the classroom. He gives students extra time to complete required assignments because he wants you to do well. He grades heavily on class participation and gives three exams and one research paper. he likes you to thiink critically nad analytically.
professor Maqsood Uddin Kadir is a wonderful professor. he cares for his students and really wants them to do well. take this professor if you really want to learn and acheive.

Dr Kadir is an amazing professor. He relates well to his students and genuinly caes. He gives a sufficient amount of time to complete assignments and gives 3 exams. This Guy is hilarious. he comes on a little too strong on the first date but after awhile he loosens up. you can show up late and use phones in his classes. His final research paper is the biggest grade in his class. do that an you'll be fine. VERY LAZY DUDE!!!LOL

Please Do Not take this man's class. He is terrible, he doesn't teach at all he reads from his summaries, and asks if we read, and gives assignments out of the blue. For my class he gave a pop quiz that was worth 15% of our grade, when I gave him my excuse for not attending the day of the class he did not allow me to take it and lost 15% percent.
I would not recommend this professor. He is not only unprofessional, but he is also lazy and you will not learn anything. He teaches as if students are already at graduate or PhD level. There is no easy 'A' here. He grades according to if he likes you as a person or not. The only chance of getting an 'A' is to know it ALL!
Please do the reading for class and expect to participate if not will show and reflect in your final grade. Grading consist of take home exam about 6 pages, Research paper 5-7 pages, and final exam will have to connect 2 topic in reading in depth analysis. The reading is interesting. Great professor overall, just do the reading prior to class.

This is the worst professor in my entire college years. Out of all class he passed few students rest got an F`s or D`s I strognly recommend not to take him because not only you wont learn anything but you`d waste your time and money and would have to go trough pain as i`m going with grade apeals. prof. Kadir, is a very good professor. If there is anything you need, he is willing to meet with you and clarify. His class was very interesting and fun. He loves participation, which adds to your grade. Kadir helps summarize all the required chapters by giving a summary of his own to the students,its best if u read the book first then his summary
He shouldn't be a teacher. He'd do better as a day laborer. Terrible at being a teacher, a human being. Glad he got fired. He should stop throwing pity parties about his commute from virginia and his medical problems. If you are in that much health trouble, don't bother the people that are paying for an education and quit. or get fired like he did
This is THE worst professor I've had in my life. Not only is he a lousy teacher, but he is HORRENDOUSLY offensive and inconsiderate. That man (if even a man) did nothing for my education, if not hinder it. Be grateful he seems to be gone.
