Terrible teacher who has unreasonably hard tests. Average grade on his tests are C- to D. Moves from chapter to chapter way too soon. Expect to have many late nights studying even though studying won't help pass his tests. GET OUT OF HIS CLASS!
Maxx is great. Math is not my best subject, but Maxx makes it interesting. He spends countless hours helping students in and out of the classroom, and goes above and beyond to make sure we're ready for the exams. Although math doesn't come easily to me, I feel I've learned a lot. Thanks!!
Horrible teacher, he moves way too fast and uses ridiculously hard examples in class and expects you to understand everything. His tests are outrageously hard. Studying won't help you. Even his online homework is stupidly hard. My class started with 40+ kids, we're down to 17. Have fun with Maxx.
Maxx always has a solid knowledge and understanding of any of the classes he teaches. His classes can be considered "hard" in a sense that he writes tests and quizzes that you actually have to understand the material. (Imagine that!) He's dedicated to the success of his students and will take the time to explain anything and everything if you ask.
Maxx is awesome. He knows what he's talking about and offers a lot of office hours,(which you should go to! REALLY HELPFUL) He does his job as an instructor, sometimes moving too fast, but always there to help you catch up. You do need to do your part and put in the effort though, if you don't, he won't. Love this guy.
Maxx rocks! He is a great teacher and is extremely willing to help if you go to any of his office hours. You will need to put in effort (it is calculus!) but getting a good grade is so do-able!!
Maxx is the Man..nuff said
Best professor I'v had thus far and he some how manages to make math class kind of fun! Believe me I used to hate math! He's extremely helpful and doesn't give up on any student as long as they don't give up either!
I've taken Trig 2 times before taking it with Maxx, once in high school(C) and then again freshman year of college(failed). He is by far the best Trig professor I've had. Clear, focused, and really pays attention to the students. I received a B on my first exam :) I definitely recommend Maxx!
If you show up to class, he is very helpful. His notes are easy to understand and you can tell that he likes to teach. He made the class quite enjoyable.
He is a perofessor that I recommned, he knows how to relate to students and will help you if you come up to him.
Maxx was an excellent professor! Good at explaining the concepts to students, added humor into his lectures, and made calculus seem both useful and interesting. Definitely recommend taking Applied Calc with him.
Good professor. Enjoyed the class.
Moves fast. Plenty of opportunity for extra help.
This guy really knows what he's talking about, really cool guy too! He's hella a strict teacher though, do all the homework and you'll be fine.
Goes through things at a fast pace and does not take time to go over questions about homework. Most of the material on the exams do not seem to be anything like what you learn in class.
Worse teacher ever. I put so much EXTRA effort for this class just to get a C. If you get distracted for two seconds, you've missed the whole class. The exams are nothing that you’ve seen in class. I had three professors looking at my past exams before the final and the three of them gave up trying to figure out what we were supposed to do.
Most of the students' problems lie with Calculus, not with Maxx. He is an intelligent, helpful, and STRICT teacher. Pay attention, go to class, and get help and you will be fine. All this coming from someone who failed high school math. Seriously.
The math department makes the tests, not Maxx, that's why they seem different than his teaching. He is fast but to the point. Also, asking questions should wait until recitation time, not his lecture time. Overall, he's a cool guy and a wonderful teacher.
Maxx is by far the best math professor I have had. He is also very helpful! I had to go to his office hours, but he made everything much more clear! I would definitely recommend his course to anyone!
Overall good teacher. Moves through material quickly, but is willing to help students understand concepts if you go and get help.
Maxx was a great teacher. He is very helpful if you are struggling. Go to his office hours if you need help. He is more than willing to help you out. Maxx is my favorite math professor at NDSU.
Maxx is a great teacher!! I took Calculus in high school and barely squeaked out a B, in his class i barely studied and got a 99%. Just do the homework and ask questions in recitation and it is a cake walk!
Maxx is a a good guy, but his Math 129 class is the worst. There are so many things wrong with the way the class is ran. He uses the flipped classroom teaching method where the student is expected to learn material before he teaches it. 5 point quiz everyday on the material before he teaches the material. You get 1/2 credit for correct answers.
Maxx is a good guy but his Trig class was very difficult. I worked extremely hard, went in for help, got tutoring, went to class and still got a 52% on the first exam. The exams only get harder. He moves extremely fast through hard material. For people who struggle with math, I do NOT recommend taking Math 105 from him. You will probably fail.
I love math, and the way max teaches is pretty good, but the tests could be in a different language and I would still do just as bad. Most of the questions are not taught in class so its impossible to study. I showed up to every single class and took over 100 pages of notes and still barely passed.
If you skip and think you're fine, guess again. This class is difficult. Math comes easy to me and this class was a challenge. Make sure you are reviewing the content to understand the material and ask questions or go to office hours if something doesn't make sense. Everything ties in together, so if you don't know one part it's hard to figure out.
Maxx was one of my favorite professors at NDSU. I had taken Math 144 before hand and had to drop halfway through because I couldn't get it. Maxx helped me get through it and excel. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for him.
Maxx gives great lectures and is extremely helpful in his office hours. The class itself is challenging, but he keeps it interesting and easy to understand. He has high expectations for his students but it is easy to maintain those expectations if you make sure to do your homework and go to class. I wish he was offering more classes!
Maxx is a good professor and tries to teach the material. Calc can be tough so be prepared to study and work hard. Overall good professor.
Great instructor. Hard classes if you don't keep up. He'll help you if you need it though, just ask.
He gave great examples in lecture and was very willing to help out whenever you needed it. Great professor!
Don't miss class. And do your homework - even if it's not mandatory. Repetition helps you learn, especially in calculus!
Very difficult class. However, Maxx is very willing to help and has a lot of office hours. The tests are difficult even though they are versions of examples he went through in class, just harder. Hard to grasp concepts if you don't go to class. Lots of notes. Online homework due almost every day.
I am terrible at math, and I ended up getting a B thanks to Maxx. He grades fairly, gives good examples in his notes, and really cares that his students are learning math. If you give it your best effort and do the online homework, you will most definitly get the required C.
Maxx was a great professor, but he is tough. Expect to put a lot of time towards this class.
He was by far one of the best professors I have ever had. This was my second time having to take this class do to a personal situation, I was taking it with a different professor and I like Maxx much better. He's very easy to learn from and went out of his way to help me understand the info & meet with my during my busy schedule. Maxx is GREAT!!!
Very difficult class, overall he is a good guy but the material is difficult. The homework will take quite awhile to finish. If you begin to fall behind get help with the tutoring center or him immediately. He gives decent material to review before the exam but know the concepts because the graders are tough. Take this class with caution
I suck at math especially when it comes to Calc. but Maxx was really able to teach in a way that i could finally understand. I would recommend that anyone who needs a class that is taught by maxx to take it with him!
If you are like me and hate math definitely take Maxx. One of the best math teachers I have ever had, he even made me enjoy the class which was a huge surprise. He gives a lot of homework but that's to be expected with a math class. Overall just a really great guy and professor.
Maxx is a fantastic instructor. He is an easy going guy, but doesn't take crap from students that try cut corners. Material is difficult, but he makes it understandable and is always willing to help.
Maxx really cares about his students. He makes sure that everyone, as long as they are willing, passes the class. He curves every test and quiz and even homework. Always go to class. He likes to hand out points to those that show up. There is a lot of homework but it is all worth it. He gives out a lot of extra credit at the end of the semester.
His teaching skills are okay, but he has his notes written down, copies them during class and still ends up having to email corrections after each class. He assigns exam corrections you can do thinking he is being a nice teacher l, but if you screw up on them it only affects your grade more. And he uses a TA once a week who doesn't teach well.
Great
Math 144 was the hardest thing I ever did. I have never been exposed to calculus before this class and it was extremely hard. My exam average was a 68, and I needed A C to pass. Maxx however did make the material understandable and you can really tell her cares about his job and the students. If you work hard and put the time in you will pass.
He's a very good professor. Knows what he's teaching and how to teach it. The material is difficult so going to lecture is important. Maxx is very willing to offer help and overall sincerely cares about his students.
Maxx is an overall great professor. He has a great sense of humor and knows how to teach the course effectively. The course itself is still very difficult, but you couldn't ask for a better professor.
I'm a straight "A" student and found this class very difficult. Lecture is four times a week and dreadfully boring. He uses pop quizzes, a lot, and not "haha free points for attendance" pop quizzes but "I hope you've attended every lecture, taken ample notes, and have kept on top of the homework or god help you" pop quizzes.
Maxx will help you get the grade you deserve in this course. He wants students to succeed. Attend class regularly, do the homework as soon as it is assigned and be proactive in the course. Pop Quizzes once a week, study guides/exam preps are also provided. This class was a struggle all semester, but very fulfilling and worthwhile.
This class itself is hard but max made everything a million times easier. He cares about every student and wants you to succeed. Do the online homework if you want to understand anything! And go to class, if you have to miss make sure you get the notes from someone! 10/10 would recommend for this class
maxx needs a number higher than a 5
Don't skip class, this course moves fast! Maxx takes A LOT of curriculum and teaches it at a brisk pace. Be sure to do the ALEKS prep at the beginning of the semesters class, it helps a lot! Also, pop quizes can happen anytime, so do your homework and know your stuff!
Best teacher I have had yet here at NDSU. Usually has a pop quiz on fridays. Tests are pretty hard, but you can get 100% on all your homework.
Great instructor. The material was tough, but he made it about as clear as possible. He will fight for your grade, but only if you're willing to put the time in. Exams are tough, but go through exam reviews and word problems for review. Also, make sure to do your exam corrections, as they may be the most helpful for understanding material.
I hated this class but it's required for a lot of majors so just prepare to suffer. The material is quite difficult, there's a lot of homework (though less than MATH 103), and this guy loves pop quizzes. I attended quite regularly but, God, if I had a dollar for every pop quiz I missed...
Super nice, very helpful, hilarious, understanding of student life. He gives a fair amount of homework, but if you do the homework it helps immensely on the test and the extra credit bumps up your grade a lot. Super fun class, and it isn't a burden to go every day. I would highly recommend this class.
Maxx is a very funny teacher! But he doesn't allow it to get in the way of his teaching. He is very helpful and gives a lot of credit on tests for showing your work. At the beginning of the year you cover the basics that you will use in the course as your homework. That was very helpful. The homeworks are harder than the tests, so they really help.
If you've taken any calculus before, it will really help you. Maxx makes this class as easy as he possibly can. He gives random attendance "quizzes" for EC. Go to class, take notes. Get help if things are confusing because the material really builds on itself. Do test corrections for even more EC. Online homework can be picky but follow examples.
Math has always been my most dreaded subject but Maxx was able to change that for a semester. He is a very good teacher and makes sure you understand what youre learning while also not making it too boring. Would recommend going to every class to get full understanding.
Maxx is a good professor and he knows well what he is teaching. I just did not like some rules he made. He gives a lot of extra credit if you want to go an extra hour to complete and resubmit online tests.
The class itself is very difficult if you don't have any previous exposure to calc. Maxx does give lots of opportunity for extra credit just by showing up. Also, there's lots of online homework that is awful and time consuming. Many students have to retake the class, but also many pass with A's. You have to work very hard if you want to succeed.
Maxx is a phenomenal prof, but the class itself is very difficult. The homework is all online, and there is a lot of it. He also gives a review packet before exams & some of the questions on the exams are very similar to the review. He also gives out random attendance quizzes, so don't skip. Overall, its tons of work, but Maxx is a good professor.
Flexible.
Maxx is the best professor I've had here at NDSU. I found the course difficult however with his teaching I pulled a good grade out of it. There is lots of busy work but he gives plenty of time to do it. Funny guy that cares a lot about how his students do. Put the effort in and you'll be just fine.
He is very accessible and does a great job of teaching one on one. You need to show up to class to do well, but his lectures are usually funny and about as interesting as a math lecture can get. You will learn a lot from the class.
Pick a good group for this class!! But otherwise Maxx is the best professor I have ever had. The material he teachers is very hard but he does an excellent way of teaching it. He does not care for slackers so if you don't attend class good luck. Going to his help hours is how I got all my work done because his LA's were worthless.
Make sure you pick a great group because you have 2 huge projects and mini group assignments almost every other week. Maxx is a great teacher, he does everything he can to ensure that you pass his class! Do connectmath/aleks because that will help you in the end.
Maxx is a legend! The content of the class itself is very difficult, and if you miss one lecture you will be really far behind. PICK A GOOD GROUP! Almost half of your grade is based off group work , and if you don't choose well in the beginning you're stuck for the rest of the semester. The class is hard, Maxx is amazing!
Maxx is probably the best professor Ive had at NDSU. The guy loves math and makes the material interesting even if you hate math like myself. Class overall is pretty difficult but if you show up everyday and do what is asked, you wont have a problem.
Maxx, is the best professor NDSU has! Make sure you find group members that are actually willing to help. Although, my group members barely helped on the projects or group assignments; we still managed to get 100% & 105% on our projects. There's lots of homework, but so many ways to get help if you're confused. Take advantage of office hours.
Great guy and teacher, only a final and midterm. Homework is online but is not too big of a workload, making it manageable. Group projects take the place of tests. Midterm, project, and homework grades determine how well one must do on the final exam.
Maxx is a great guy. He wants everyone to pass, so he gives out so much extra credit. Group projects are the hardest part of the class, but otherwise homework and test are pretty easy. He is always willing to help you if you dont understand anything.
Professor Maxx was a great teacher for this course. He tried to make the material as easy for us to understand as possible. It is important to attend class if you want to receive a good grade. Group projects and tests can be hard, but you can still receive a high grade if you choose to do the bonus. This class can be time-consuming.
Maxx's lectures were always great to go to. He always went through multiple examples during class and posted more examples online. His method of teaching was very clear and concise and is surprisingly funny! As long as you read and study the notes and do the notes exercises, you should have no problem getting a passing grade in this class.
There is a ton of online homework in this class so stay on top of it. You have to go to class every day since there are clicker points and you miss a lot if information if you arnt there. The notes exercises can be difficult but your lowest 2 are dropped. Only 2 exams and 2 projects. So many bonus points and dropped scores that its easy to do well.
Maxx works hard, cares a lot and inspires. In calculus, he teaches self-discipline & dedicates hours to helping students. He challenges us to solve real world problems and keeps us engaged by being hilarious. He deserves the shiniest of apples! Also, I'm a biology major and would be thrilled if he taught Mathematics of Biological Processes at NDSU.
Great teacher. Makes sure you understand the material if you ask the questions.
Maxx is a decent teacher, hard class if you miss anything though.
Feels like family, but has limited mercy. Treats you like an adult.
The only reason people give a bad grade is cause they're lazy and need someone to blame. Maxx has been my best teacher so far in college. He is good at teaching and makes you feel like you understand the material. Be prepared to work hard and learn much as well. He's a cool dude too. The ones that find this class difficult, don't focus.
Maxx was an excellent teacher, he really cared that most of his class succeeded and that most people knew what was going on. He does have a lot of homework and the class seems tough at first but as long as you do all your work you should be good. Start the assignments early even if it is just looking at them because3 he gives extra credit.
My experience in Maxx's class was really good. Maxx himself is an amazing teacher and really funny guy. The class however was difficult for me since I struggle with math. Pray you get a good group and show up to every class. He also dedicates a day at the end of the semester to dropping stuff to boost your grade and what you need on the final exam.
This class made me want to stick my arm in a blender. I routinely spend 4 hours a night on homework, a minimum of 2.5 hours on light days. Maxx is exceedingly difficult to communicate with and does not care about his students. You can talk to him, meet with his TAs, and email him all you want, but he still won't do a thing to help. RUN AWAY NOW
Maxx is a great professor. He genuinely cares for his students success. No mercy for those who are disrespectful and couldn't care less though. The first month had quite a bit of HW, but mostly due to an entire review of algebra, which was helpful. He explains the material in a way that anyone can understand. Commit, show up and actually do the HW.
We went online due to COVID-19 and he has given sooo much homework I cant keep up with. I had 2 assignments, notes exercises, and a group assignment all dur the day before an exam. What kind of teacher does that.
Math 146 is a hard class but Maxx gives you the tools you need to succeed. There is a lot of homework and a lot of work that must be done outside of class, but the reasoning is to help you understand the material fully, and I don't think a lot of people realize that. Very caring, helpful, nice guy who I can't thank enough for all he has done
Maxx was easily the best teacher I ever had, always responded to my e-mails and taught me in a way that I personally would understand. Take any math classes you can with him, you won't find a better teacher.
Maxx requires a lot a work such as homework and exams but gives many opportunities to ask questions and extra credit for every exam. He is an amazing professor if you are willing to put in the work.
He is very relatable and uses many ways of teaching in order to help you learn and retain the information. Yes there is a lot of homework, but honestly, the only way to learn math is through repetitive doing. He gives a lot of chances for bonus, and created a schedule that lays out your weeks so you always know what to do and what is due.
This professor was one of the better ones I have had. He gives many opportunities for extra credit as long as your paying attention. He will give majority of points for showing understanding on how to set up problems. It is not unusual to for him to give work days and is very understanding. It is a harder class, but the teacher is great.
Maxx is a great professor that really wants his students to succeed/pass. He puts so much time into his classes as I have taken all my math classes with him. He stays up late grading assignments so you get them back quick! And not many professors will respond to your emails very late at night. I thank him for the grade I received in the class.
Only have to attend class for less than 2 of the 4 days
Awesome professor! Applied calc is pretty hard but Maxx's course is laid out well which made it easy to learn. There is quite a bit of homework but its not too bad, you should definitely do it! Maxx gives you the resources to get an A in the class if you are willing to work for it!
Maxx is a great teacher. The class was set up where you would watch a video lecture before class and take a quiz (super easy) on the lecture info. Then when in class, he would do examples and open class time for questions. He had TA's in separate breakout rooms to get more hands on help on specific lectures or questions. Tests were fairly simple.
By far one of the best professors I have ever had. Professor Kureczko truly cares about each and every person in his class and only wants to see us all succeed. I highly recommend taking calculus with him!
Perhaps the best instructor I've ever had. Maxx cares about his students, and offers countless opportunities to succeed. If you are willing to dig into the material, you can pass this course. If you're willing to participate, you can thrive.
Maxx is the best college professor I've ever had. He is very thorough with his lectures and he will explain anything you are not understanding. He gives extra credit. If you pay attention in his class you will succeed. Applied Calculus is a tough class but Maxx made it very doable!
If you have to take a calculus class, or any math class in general, I highly recommend Maxx. He really cares about his students. As long as you put in the effort, and show that you care, you will go far in this class
I definitely recommend Maxx, especially for this course. I took trig over the summer as an 8 week course. The recorded lectures are high quality and provide excellent explanations of all key concepts. If you can carve out 2.5 hours, 5 days a week to do this course you will leave with a rock solid understand of trig and a good refresher on algebra.
maxx is an amazing professor to have, not only is he knowledge in his field, but he also is kind towards his students. he has high expectations for you to meet, but as long as you do so, hes happy. the subject itself is really difficult to learn/grasp, but its doable and he provides resources you need to succeed in his class.
Maxx is a great teacher, cares about his students and is passionate about the class. His lectures are easy to understand if you pay attention and do the homework. He uses a flipped-classroom so you have to watch his lectures. Class is organized, Maxx answers emails and questions very well. There are clicker questions so make sure you attend class.
It was absolutely amazing having Max as a teacher. He really cares for his students and even though its suppose to be a relatively difficult class he makes it very manageable. Quizzes are not bad if you practice exams that he gives extra credit on. Clicker points are huge but he takes 15 off at the end of the semester so its not bad. Just show up
Great Professor
The content can be confusing or hard at times but Maxx wants you to succeed. He gives so many opportunities for students to do well in his classes. Watch the lectures, take notes, get easy points for lecture quizzes, go to class, utilize the LA's help, go to online help hours, and take the practice exams! You will do just fine in this class.
Maxx is an amazing professor. He is truly caring and coming to his class can make my day. Yes, there is a decent amount of work to do outside, but it truly helps you learn. Do your extra credit and keep up through the semester and you wont even need to take your final.
Maxx is one of the best out there! The workload makes sense since he does want you to apply yourself in order to do good on the midterms! Show up to his class since he has clicker questions although work days are optional. He is very patient wi his students and is ready to help out if you're struggling! Just make sure to let him know! A great guy!!
Maxx has made me enjoy math. He has a flipped classroom style, but he does it right. You watch 30ish minute lectures outside of class 2x a week and come to class to do examples. He gives practice exams that are literally the exams, gives tons of bonus points, and encourages note sheets on exams. Tons of help hours for when you're stuck on HW too.
He clearly lays out every assignment and due date and what is expected of you. He makes the lectures about as interesting as a math lecture can be. He is pretty funny and is definitely one of the best teachers I've ever had.
Maxx is an amazing teacher. He has a flipped classroom model, which is different but he uses it effectively. He also gives out a bunch of extra credit opportunities. He also has practice exams, which are the same types of questions as the actual exam. Take advantage of those opportunities and take the practice exams to easily pass the class.
Maxx really cares about his students! He may get a bad rep but that is just because calc isn't always the easiest! There are usually always LA's or him to help with problems on the worksheets! He gives practice exams and extra credit! Do them! He is very genuine and one of my favorite professors! Extremely helpful:)
I loved having Maxx, it wasn't an easy class, but he gives a lot of extra credit so it's not hard to pass as long as you do your work. 10/10 recommend him. Also, you get a sheet of notes on all exams.
Chill teacher, I would fail just to have him again. Has a flipped classroom model so you watch lecture videos on your own time outside of class and do examples and have work time in class to ask questions. Most importantly, DO THE PRACTICE EXAMS! Do the extra credit and all the HW. I could have failed the final (60%) and still gotten a high A.
Amazing teacher helps out a lot! Flipped class which is super helpful.
He's very good but you need to study.
Maxx is one of the best profs I've had so far. His content is difficult but he gives all the tools you will need to excel in his class. Do all the work and practice tests and ask him questions if you need help. Lectures are watched outside of class and examples are done during class time. This class was structured really nicely. Would take again.
Professor Kureczko is a very "to the point" instructor. He makes it very clear at the start of the semester what he expects from you. He seems too hardcore at first, but he really isn't. He provides you with all of the resources you will ever need and tries to know you by name. He is very personable and easy to approach for help if need be.
Uncle Maxx is a great guy. He is always 100% willing to individually help you. He has a hilarious sense of humor. The class isn't easy, but if you continue to work and do everything that Maxx asks of you, you'll pass.
Really good professor
Hes a good teacher and the class is pretty manageable. Make sure to go to every class you can and do all the practice exams in order to do the best you can in the class.
Maxx is the best professor I have had at NDSU. He really cares about each of his students. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you do have in class participation points so I would suggest going every time. DO THE PRACTICE EXAMS!! He offers extra credit for them, and they are exactly like the actual exams. If you put in the work you'll get a good grade
Uncle Maxx is an amazing professor. He cares a lot about his students and his class is very manageable. Make sure you attend class and work with your group, and you'll see the improvement!! Highly recommend
He uses a flipped classroom. You do homework and examples in class and lectures outside of class. It has worked wonders for me and my grade. Not only does he give you practice exams that you can earn bonus points from but he also makes the tests very very comparable to the practice exams which is extremely helpful. I LOVE LOVE LOVE MAXX!!!
i love him
Maxx was an awesome teacher. Graded on homework, quizzes, and tests. Tests are in person, they aren't difficult if you put the work in. Homework you get unlimited attempts before the due date. Maxx truly cares about people passing his class and has a great teaching style.
watch the online lectures before class and youll be fine
Maxx is the best math professor I've had and he truly cares about his students succeeding. As long as you follow the daily schedule and do your work you'll be fine. You have unlimited attempts on homework and practice exams, which is really nice.
Class can definitely be difficult at times, especially when new content is added, and you are expected to complete assignments on a near-daily basis at times. You are expected to show up and work all 50 minutes, but as long as you show up, complete your assignments, and do the practice exams, you should be able to succeed in this class.
One of my favorite professors at NDSU. The course is fairly difficult, but with the resources and help he provides, it seems easy. He has high expectations for his students, but is willing to do anything to help you out.
I guarantee your susses %100 in his class. He is always ready to help you. His lectures are easy to understand, and his homework is beneficial to be ready for exams.
Lots of class days, but super useful. He cares about his student's well-being and wants you to ask questions. If you study and do the work, the class itself is a breeze.
The goat of ndsu
Favorite teacher fr fr. He genuinely cares for students and wants us to do well. There are so many opportunities to do well with his clearly outlined daily schedule and extra credit. In the end, your final grade will reflect your own effort and willingness to take advantage of Maxx's kindness and provided help.
Uncle Maxx was one of the best math teachers I've had, He's fast and quick to the point and goes over test and homework questions in class. Do the practice exams since they are the test. Thursdays are catch-up days so skip at your own discretion. The class will be super easy if you just do your homework and practice exams.
Maxx is AMAZING!!! He has office hours all the time and exams are just like practice exams. I hated math before taking his class and he just makes math more understandable and kinda fun! This man deserves a raise
Probably the best prof I will have throughout my college experience. Maxx cares about your learning and his layout is great for the content. He uses a flipped classroom so be sure to do your work outside of class!!
Math 144 is difficult, however (Uncle) Maxx makes the class as easy and simple as he can for his students. He uses a reverse classroom, meaning the lectures are online outside of class, and you review the lectures and work on homework in class. The class has a heavy work load, however this proves very beneficial in the future.
I took Math144 because it is required for my degree and Maxx is an amazing teacher. Math has always been my strong suite but he will always take extra time to make sure all students understand ana factually comprehend the material. Amazing teacher! Love you Uncle Maxx.
Maxx is one of the best professors I have ever had. He cares about what grade you get and has 3 LAs running around to assist people when he is helping other students. Maxx keeps himself VERY open outside of class with office hours and is very responsive email-wise. If you need help... ASK he will work through problems with you!!
Maxx is amazing!! By far my favorite professor here at NDSU. Gives TONS of opportunities for extra credit, gives you a daily schedule to follow from day 1, and gives out practice exams that perfectly mirror tests, and if you do the practice exams he will give you a 10% curve.
Uncle Max is one of the best professors I've ever had. he's a super nice guy that understands that this class is hard and gives a lot of ways to improve. with extra credit during tests and zoom meetings almost every day he's one of the best at teaching. If you give any sort of effort, you will pass this class.
Unle Maxx was the best professor I ever had.
maxx is an absolute king. don't expect to pass his class without effort, but he'll "match your freak" and help you if you're actually trying to learn. before tests he would say "i hope you get the grade you deserve", and i think that about sums it up. saw him a year after taking his class and he greeted me by name.
Actually one of my favorite professors I've ever had. I hate math but somehow I liked this class? Lots of opportunity for extra credit. As long as you try you will do great. He really cares about his students and wants them to do well. 10/10
Maxx isn't like any other professor I have had. He actually wants you to succeed and tries his best to do that. He relates his class to the real world so what you learn can actually help you in the future. His lectures are online so you can come to class with the knowledge and ask for help if you need it. gives a lot of extra credit. Great teacher.
he's just him
Maxx is the GOAT of NDSU! His clear teaching style and extra help make this class a breeze. Definitely use Unstuckstudy along with the practice exams to crush it.
Very nice Professor. Lots of homework. Mostly on your own for understanding homework. attendance is graded. Lots of extra credit. Would prefer if he explained how to do the problems in person instead of a video for a new unit. Has help hours but are overcrowded with students so it's hard to ask questions. LA's don't answer your questions properly.
Math 144 is a big workload, tough class. Maxx has created the best possible way of teaching the class. He is very smart and you can tell he is passionate about our learning. The workload can be overwhelming, but he is very helpful with assigning good TA's, lots of office hours, and lots of extra-credit opportunity. Best professor at NDSU.
This class is very well organized. All lectures are online and can be accessed at any time. Some lectures are a little long but Maxx gives plenty of time to watch. Attendance is mandatory but he also has a very forgiving policy. Follow the daily schedule for random bonus points!
I had a great semester in this class with Maxx as my professor. He did a great job at explaining the material, and providing extra help if the you didn't understand what was going on. Maxx also gave us lots of opportunities for extra credit. 100% would recommend again.
Maxx was awesome. Hands out bonus points for practice exams! He is amazing.
The best professor ever! He made it incredibly easy for students to learn the material AND get the grade they want. If you did poorly, then you didn't go to class or watch the videos.
Uncle Maxx is the best professor I have ever had; you have to try hard to fail his class. Makes learning fun and really cares about you.
Actually the best professor I have ever had. He actually cares about his students and wants you to pass just gotta put in some effort.
He gives extra credit points on every exam and you can even stockpile them. He sometimes gives extra credit points for showing up on a Friday. Attendance is graded (for a good reason) and some fridays are even 5 points- for just being there. He is a great professor and will help in anyway he can. Do everything he assigns and you won't fail.
Maxx is by far one of the best instructors at NDSU and he truly cares about our success in the class. The workload can be a lot at times, but Maxx is always willing to help out and answer questions. Following the daily schedule and doing the practice exams will help you do well in the class. The extra credit on practice exams can help a lot too.
..........
Maxx is a great teacher. He cares about his students and their success. He gives so much extra credit! You get it by having your homework completed before class, which you should already be doing. The whole class is done with a random group, if you get bad group members class will be less enjoyable. LAs are in 3/4 classes per week. Fairly helpful.
Maxx is an amazing professor! If I could have him again and again, I would. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed. His flipped classroom is really helpful and he gives out a lot of extra credit for the exams, as well as homework assignments.
Maxx is an awesome guy who truly cares about your success in his course, 100% would take him again if possible. He makes the course very easy to understand and organizes it very well.
Maxx is hands down the best professor at NDSU. He will go out of his way to make sure you are taken care of if you ask for it. He gives out a staggering amount of extra credit throughout the semester. As long as you show up everyday and stay ahead of your homework there is no reason you shouldn't pass the course. I'm terrible at math and get a B.
Very personable and is a character. He is good at actually teaching and he has his system down to a way that works for almost everyone. If you just put in the time to actually do the homework and practice tests you are almost guaranteed an A in the class. It takes some time but it's not hard work so it is worth it. The course is not very test heavy
Hands down one of the best math professors i've had at ndsu, as someone who struggles in math this class was hard at times but also hard to fail if you put it the effort.
I took the online version and it was horrible, extremely fast paced and doesnt give you time to learn anything before the next thing. If you can carve out 3 hours a day 5 days a week you will probably pass, but good luck if you have other classes.
Maxx is not only a great instructor, but he's just a cool guy. This class was very hard at times, but if you put in the effort and apply yourself, Maxx will make sure you find success. Definitely would recommend going to his office hours if you're struggling. Very hard class, but very good instructor.
Haven't been a math person but Maxx makes math class more enjoyable and covers interesting topics. He cares about feedback from students and makes adjustments according to feedback.
lot of extra credit great personality
Very nice. VERY homework heavy. Fast paced. Need to be self-motivated. 10% extra credit curve available on each exam (5% on final). Accessible by email. Follow the guide schedule! Exams strictly proctored by yuja. You can tell he cares, but this is a very difficult class.
Very good at teaching complex topics. He has a flipped lecture style so you watch the lectures outside of class and use the in-class time to go over the problems and ask questions. There is a lot of work but everything has multiple or unlimited attempts. Many opportunities for extra credit. Challenging material but it's easy to get a good grade.
Dude was a great calc professor and def wants everybody to succeed his course. He does not mince words.
