Even though she requires a lot, she makes everything very clear. She's very funny and likes to shock people. My favorite thing about her is that she makes a genuine effort to learn your name and to make you enjoy her class. Lady knows her stuff.

Maya was one of the most helpful professors I had in a long time. Yes there is a lot of homework, but that was only to help her students with their writting. In fact I still use some of those skills I learned in her class in other classes and they work well. Its like she always says "there is a methoed to her madness."

Maya Staylor, formerly Boehner-Staylor, is currently on leave. I was in her class prior to her leave, which she is using to complete her masters - if I'm not mistaken. Professor Staylor is great, I love her class in English 67. Yes you have to read a lot and type essays, but it's great how Staylor will guide you with almost every step of the way. I would definitely recommend her if you want to improve your writing. Participation matters as well.

i never understood grammar until i took her. she's very helpful and funny. You really need to pay attention and do your readings. she's not as easy but you will learn, maya makes you work for your grade which is great. she does not baby sit, she's very clear. i will defiantly take her again.

Maya has a lot of spirit. For the first three weeks though I thought she was a bit much because she is VERY hyper. She expects a lot in her outlines since she is an English teacher. But makes it easy for students with speech anxiety. She is passionate about speech and very respectable and an intelligent professor who is honest and blunt.

Make sure you meet a friend in this class if you dont have one. But the people are usually nice and they will ask if you dont have a group. She has tutor sessions which help you with the class. She will give you a quiz if you dont read the book so make sure you read it.

Came off as over-energetic, but I was eventually won over by the genuine understanding she had of the text, the conversations in class, and the informal nature of discussions. The feedback received is good, the work is well metered and not overbearing. Good if you have an interest in the material and subject.

She made going to class exciting, at least to me. She lets you pick the material you want to read from the original book. You must read! It will make the midterm and final much easier. She very loud and bubbly, her personality is contagious :) When she can she is always willing to help, especially in office hours.

She will explain anything as long as you ask. There's short reading quizzes on each chapter, but sometimes she doesn't quiz you. The homework is readings.

You will have A LOT OF POP QUIZZES. And seriously BE PREPARED TO READ YOU WILL READ A LOT AND HAVE A QUIZ ON IT. The teacher is great and she gives opportunities for extra credit and she's really funny. If you do the work the final essay and speech will be very easy.

The speeches for my class were online, but she is worth taking. It is a lot of work and you need to be able to give her all the effort and you can do well. All the assignments were very straight forward and she makes sense of everything, she is also very approachable if you don't understand.

Prof. Staylor is a very scholarly person. Which means you have to follow everything that she asks of you on assignments. Do not try to deviate from her instructions. Most of your points will come from speech outlines and the actual speeches which are recorded through Flipgrid. You'll have one demonstration, one informative, and a persuasive speech.

Dr. Staylor is great. I took her Winter 2023. She gives good feedback on your speech assignments. Your assignments will involve writing rough drafts for speeches, recording them and uploading them to YouTube, and giving feedback to your classmates rough drafts/videos. I highly recommend taking this class in the Winter or Summer.

her class was okay but her grading can be harsh especially for speeches and if ur an introverted individual like me who can seem low energy when presenting. You would have to fake being enthusiastic to get a perfect score which to me seems unfair. even if u put a lot of effort into ur speech and practiced a lot it can go unnoticed.
