Awesome Professor!!!

Pretty easy class. You can pass it with no problems.

Very easy and entertaining class. Class consists of discussions on controversial topics, which is entertaining because everyone has their own different opinion. When it comes to tests she gives you a study guide. Lots of extra credit is given throughout the semester.

Great professor. Super easy class. She likes when you participate. Class discussions, videos, and chapter reviews. Gives test reviews. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Do the work and you'll pass. 1 paper, 1 presentation, a few exams, a couple "pop quizzes", and random class work (normally done in groups). You won't regret taking this professor.

So as a teacher she is pretty cool. Her class is fairly easy, and you'll pass for sure as long as you do the handful of assignments. She had a few things like in class debates that could have been amazing if they were a little bit more thought out. My only criticism of the class is it seems like a lot of it is improvised instead of planned out.

Professional. Shows that she cares. I never liked Government until I took her class.

Professor Childress is great. She really got me interested in Government. You can tell she is very smart, but she doesn't make her students feel like she is above all of us. Very easy to talk to and if she wasn't my teacher, I could see myself being friends with her.

Taught my Texas Government class. She was really good, not boring like other professors. She tries to stay away from PowerPoint, which I like. She actually lectures which is how it should be.

Very laid back professor, although don't take advantage of her kindness to excuse absenses and turn in late work. She will call you out on it.

Really cool professor! She actually took the time out of her schedule to help me with Statistics . Really cares about her students and encourages them to do well not only in her class, but all of them.

This is the second time I take Ms. Childress for GOVT. I really enjoy her lectures and how much she cares for her students.

Very encouraging and helps you improve when you do presentations. She makes sure to talk one on one with you if you are struggling in her class. There shouldn't be a reason why ANYONE should fail her class.

I REALLY RECOMMEND TAKING HER CLASS SUPER EASY.

She was an absolute doll for government . The book was used very little but was helpful. Took this class in the summer. Fast paced but easy , she shows interesting videos and makes you think about issues most people dont ever give much thought to. Shes super nice and understanding. Id take her again.

great teacher, a lot of class discussion, rarely used the book. passed the test with just the review. Easiest "A" I have ever received. Felt like i never really studied or read. and still passed.

Take her. Super nice. Great professor. Provides study guides for tests. Easy A. Not sure if con but there's a big group presentation that's worth 20% of your grade and some extra credit presentations as well.

She does alot of fun group projects to get a better understanding of what topic you are on. her grading is simple and offers extra credit. she does not read straight from the book wich makes it more understanding. her quizes are not hard if you study, she always provides a review.

LOVED her class. I was able to relate to her because she is younger and understands the younger generation a lot better.

Easiest gov. teacher you could sign up for!!! I am TERRIBLE in gov. but i got As on all her exams, which are only 15 questions, plus she gives you reviews which are basically the answers to test! You only have one main group project at the end of semester & a paper & YOUR DONE!

Offers extra credit, one of them is a PowerPoint presentation. Weekly discussion boards, basically your personal opinion. Reviews that are the exam. At the end of the semester she asks for a 3-5 essay. Make sure you do the PPP so you can take a page off of the essay. Take her, you wont regret it. Really simple class and easy.

Took her for an online class. I heard taking her class face to face is a lot better. Online class went well.

Super chill and clear about all lectures! Extremely nice and understanding.

Ms. Childress is an awesome instructor. As long as you read the chapter the class is super easy. She provides a review that is exactly the exam. You have weekly discussions that are based on your opinion. One 5 page public program analysis towards the end of the semester and you are done.

Super easy A online. Read the textbook, or not. She has PP, but I hardly needed them if reading. Easy multiple choice test. Self opinioned discussion board post for grades, easy A. These are basically your weekly/bi weekly assignments. Voice recorded PPP at end--you choose topic, easy too! She's nice, relaxed, easy going teacher. Fly by class.

I recommend anyone needing to take Government to take Ms. Childress. Super easy and works with you, especially during this difficult time.

Ms. Childress is one of the best professors I have ever had. You can tell she loves to teach and on the first day of class she pretty much educates you on why its important that you learn about government. I hated this subject until I took her class. Would take her again if I had to.

This is the professor you want to take for Government! Yes shes easy, but I just think she does a great job explaining government. It took me a while to get into her class since they fill up quite fast and she teaches only a few courses in the semester��.

Shes an amazing professor, I took both of her class 2305 & 2306 and i passed both of them with an A+. Just as long you do your work you will be fine. She is also very helpful and if you have any questions she will answer them with no problem.

Utep students! If you need to take GOVT take her! I had taken the first class at Utep and I didnt learn anything aside from the professor there being a pain when it came to working with me. Im a straight A student. I got a B there. I took Ms. Childress at EPCC and not only did I learn a lot, but I got an A.

I agree that Mrs. Childress is one of the best professors! I wish I had her for all my classes! When it comes to politics she stays pretty neutral, like she told us in class When it comes to politics, just like in life, she doesnt know where she fits in I remember she said that and every student in the class just related to her.

Shes a great professor! Only thing is her classes fill up quick. I had to wait a semester to be able to get in. I took her at the VV campus than took her online class this semester.

By far one of the best professors ever! I never rate teachers either but that's how amazing she is. She is NOT a tough grader at all & I usually as a student have trouble passing but she made it so easy! especially online, all you have to do is a few blackboard discussions and easy tests. If you are taking government I suggest you take her. She is great! I learned a lot in her class and she really has a passion for teaching. I took the first GOVT with another professor and failed due to the professor not taking the time to help me out when I needed clarification on assignments.

I like this Professor. Her class is mainly lecture and gets right to the point. We don't use the textbook in class. Its pretty much your job to read it on your own.

10/10 would take her again! Class is basically all lecture, but its entertaining. Not boring if you participate.

This is my first semester taking Government and I took Ms. Childress. She's really nice and funny. I'm taking her again next semester!

Ms. Childress was is one of the nicest people I know! Her class is mainly lecture and discussions, which are fun. The only HW you have to do each week aside from readings, are the discussions which aren't super long. You have 3 tests and a paper due at the send of the semester.

Ms. Childress was great! I recommend her for anyone needing to take GOVT! Very likable!

One of the best Professors at EPCC! Her class is just lectures. I like that if she shows videos they are short. 10-15 min max. Ive had other professors who play them the ENTIRE class! She is also very open with her students in just about anything. Very fun to talk to! Dont buy the book for her class, just take notes !

Such a great Professor! Her lectures are straight to the point. We had very interested conversations in her class. Easy to talk to and shes very open about anything really. Aside from pretty shes a smart young lady.

Very respectful and open with her students. Didnt see eye to eye on certain issues. I did raise my voice at her a couple of times in class and both times she handled it with such grace. We talked it out. Any other Professor would have kicked me out and failed me. But not her.

I took her last semester. Such a great Professor! Shes has a sense of humor about things and shes good at engaging with the students. She teaches at Rio Grande, but was worth the drive for me. I took the first part of government at VV and I didnt learn anything. A hidden Gem for sure!

Great professor! Took Professor Childress online, it was a very easy class, you just have to do discussion and exams. The discussions are pretty easy, you just have to read the articles assigned and for the exams you need the textbook. Easy A if you complete your work, you have the whole semester to do them.

Very nice and respectful professor! Her classes are conducted with mainly lecture and group/class discussions. She did incorporate some guest speakers along with YouTube videos. She does give opportunites for extra credit but it is really not needed as she extends deadlines for work that is not hard to complete

Ms. Childress is a hidden gem for sure! I wasn't excited to take government, but she made it so interesting and I actually paid attention. She is great at engaging with students and is really down to earth. Unlike with other professors, students can relate to her.

Ms. Childress is so great! I took her for both GOVT 2305 and GOVT 2306. Her classes mainly consist of lectures, but she gives us fun projects to do. I learned a lot while taking her classes, I appreciate how helpful she has been at my time at EPCC. No one else seems to care about students.

Such an example of what a person going into education should be. Very passionate about what she does. Goes out of her way to help students succeed and always very positive. I recommend her and I wish she taught other classes aside from Government.

The bad :( students present more than at speech class and it doesnt matter how much you participate in class all students will get a passing grade. Even the ones who didnt say a word. The great :D she will work with you with final presentation if youre having trouble. She is very caring! :D Fully recommended!

I would say that this might be one of the easy classes I took about government. The professor looks to be a flexible person during the online classes and the assignment were easy to follow as they were discussions based on news or political issues she posted, maybe some quizzes and writing a project at the end where you will have to make research.

Super, super easy class. You don't even have to buy the textbook, as she even said herself, she likes to save the students money. This course was by far the easiest I have taken so far, and I highly recommend taking her if you have other courses that are time consuming and need a laid-back, stress-free class. Great professor and class.

LOVE LOVE THIS professor, she is VERY lenient and caring that everybody passes her class!! i'm actually going to take my other course that i need with her, very little few assignments, 3 quizzes (make sure to study and easy A), a review analysis paper at the end of term, and like 6 in class assignments which are SUPER easy!

Ms. Childress is very approachable by email. She will answer any questions you have. The grades are mainly tests and they are not bad at all. I will be taking another class with this professor for Federal Govt.

She was my favorite class in the, as she made me feel like I could take a breather from the hustle of taking science classes. She's non-bias and doesn't bash anyones political beliefs and doesn't make you feel like you have to fake who you are to get a great grade. She's open to everyones opinion which i love! I have a learning disability and I had dropped my previous govt class because the professor was just mean and not willing to work with me ( prof. Cardiel). I was nervous about taking another govt class but I had heard good things about Ms. Childress. 1000% recommend! She is the most caring fun teacher. She was so patient with me. Terrific teacher!

Took both Govt classes with Ms. Childress. Class is manageable if you stay on top of the assignments. Three exams, 6 graded discussions, paper on a public program. Even though it was an online class, I went by her office a few times. Very funny and easy to talk to. She got to know me and she even wrote me a letter of recommendation for Utep.

Ms. C is great!I agree that she is very VERY patient with students and their questions. Which can get annoying at times because they hold back the class, But I guess that's why she's a teacher. She will explain things in Spanish to students who don't understand. Which I think is cool and nice of her.

Great online class. Very straightforward. If you don't do the work you will fail. I thought she gave fair amount of work. If you want more work you must not be a full-time student and have a job and a family. I reached out to her like 6 times and she replied right away. Her email replies had sense of humor. I appreciated it. She's funny.

Great Instructor! Attendance is not mandatory, but I would recommend not missing class. 4 quizzes and 4 Exams and a project. She explains government in a way that it's easy to understand. A lot of discussions in class which is fun.
