If you do your assignments and study for tests, you will do okay. I didn't bother doing a speech and my final grade dropped from an A to a C. Dr. Holzer is very helpful and fair though.

Show up. It is such an easy class, write and present four speeches, take the mid-term and final, save those 3 absences for the last few days before the final and breeze through this class. Holzer will help you with anything you need.

Where can I go to nominate Dr. Holzer for the teacher of the year award? Unlike many professors at VCC, she actually teaches as opposed to dictating from the textbook. Dr. Holzer puts her students at ease and goes out of her way to help them overcome speech anxiety. Don't worry, the tests are easy. I did not even buy the book and had a 104 average.

Had her for the summer term and was very afraid of speech before taking her class. But to my surprise she is very easy going, encouraging and helpful. Dr.Holzer is an amazing teacher. I took her at 8 in the morning all summer. Made me want to go to class. As long as you are there, you will get A's on quizzes and if you do all of the homework sheets you usually get all of your points. Don't have to dress up and speech day is really layed back.

I took her honors course. Pretty easy, only makes you give 3 speeches and some super easy quizzes. Also, you won't need a book- she even tells you that. Do the research for your speeches early and you should be fine. Great professor who cares about the students who care about their grades :)

Professor Holzer is an outstanding lecturer. Her classroom setting is so non-threatening that she makes speeches seem like a walk in the park. I was part of her honors group, which I expected to be super challenging, but it was not so. She gives ample practice and many opportunities for students to excel.As an added bonus she's very charming!

I was nervous about taking a term A hybrid Honors course, but I am so glad that I did. She is an amazing professor! She records the speeches and gives grading rubrics before, so there is no reason not to do well.

I took her Hybrid Honors class. Didn't need to buy a textbook, provided all reading materials on Blackboard. She's very helpful, funny and amazing. Her lectures help with your upcoming speech, so does your readings. Three speeches, just like any other speech class but she gives interesting topics. Take her and you won't regret it.

She talks about how everyone has public speaking anxiety, and it should be expected. She never embarrasses you, only encourages you. Who knows, maybe you will learn something valuable, which will benefit you the rest of your life. Unless you plan to be a day trading millionaire, you will be giving a lot more speeches. Made an A.

If you don't do well in this class, then you just aren't trying. Prof. Holzer is more than clear about what she wants and is so clear about what she wants that you'd have to be brain dead not to know what to do and how to do it. There were only three graded speeches with accompanying homework. She's very helpful and cares about your success.

I took Summer B online. We did 3 speeches, a few unit discussions & assignments. Dr. Holzer is a great online teacher. She grades the assignments and speeches very quickly & provides excellent feedback. She provides the reading information for the class. No textbook needed. If you do the work there is no reason not to do well. Highly recommend!

Had her for Interpersonal Communications. Very clear. NO SPEECHES. Only 1 project where you talked for 5mins. She seems strict but very willing to help you out. Weekly assignments are pretty easy (answers in the book). Really fun class that I would take again!

Took it online, 3 speeches. The readings are provided in Blackboard. The class is interesting and you learn a lot, but, there is quite a lot work involved. If you work hard, you will do fine.

We didn't have any tests just 4 oral presentations. homework assignments are long but easy, she grades fast. easy class and she's very kind and helpful, easy to talk to. make sure whether you need speech 1608 or interpersonal comm 1017 for your degree before you register though

I was nervous about this class when I signed up for it, but it was actually great. Assignments each week, very long but easy. No tests. Only 1 speech at the end of the semester for the final grade.

I took her class online Summer A(6weeks). She grades fairly and gives great feedback. We had to do 2 speeches one 4-6 mins and one 5-7 mins with an audience of minimum 5 adults, any less than that you will get 20% taken off grade. I enjoyed the class and would have her as a professor again if I could.

Prof. Holzer is amazing. She is so nice and her class is extremely easy too. I took it as a hybrid course and we had very easy discussion posts due almost every Monday and then had class on Wednesdays. 2 tests and 2 projects/presentations. The class before the test, she will literally tell you everything that will be on it.

If you have speech anxiety, this class is for you. She is amazing. She is so nice and caring. She will make you feel comfortable in class. She only makes us do 2 speeches and walks us through the whole thing. The class is so open and we can discuss so much. Plus, you learn a lot. She is very clear,don't talk very long. Ms. Holzer is extremely sweet. There are only 3 tests and 2 speeches. Her tests are extremely long but super easy and the speeches are graded by content not so much performance which really takes the pressure off. She will guide you through everything.

Professor Holzer is a great to take for SPC 1608. Speech is not an easy class to take in general. However, she does not make it harder than it needs to be. She sets you up to be successful. If you do the assignments and follow the rubric, there is no reason why you should not get an A in this class. She also offers many extra credit opportunities.

Really all her quizzes which are not timed have the answers in bold in her readings. Most of the time you don't even have to read the readings to answer the quizzes, just participate in the group discussions. She offers extra credit in her written assignments.

Professor Holzer was fantastic. I have anxiety, but she makes sure that you're as comfortable as possible when presenting while also challenging you enough to improve. Her lectures give you a great understanding of the material, and the online assignments tend to be pretty easy if you read the material.

Professor Holzer is very kind and her assignments are not hard. Each module is thoroughly explained and has given examples. There are quizzes as well for each reading but you have 2 tries to get the score you want. You only have 1 speech but it's at the very end.

If you want an easy A, take this professor. We had 2 speeches, one of them being a mini-speech in a discussion and then the final speech. The rest of the work was just a quiz and discussion post a week or occasionally a written assignment. The quiz had two tries and had no time limit. The course was so entertaining. She even provided extra credit.

Very nice teacher and gave good feedback after every speech. You basically record yourself doing a speech, four in total I think it was. Rough draft/speech layout were part of the grade, lots of writing and collaborating in groups, but definitely way easier than if i took this at school. She gave extra credit here and there, would recommend.

Take this professor! Her class is so easy. We get extra credit opportunities every week (you won't even need it). She has weekly quizzes but you get two attempts, unlimited time, and all the answers are in the readings. Her writing assignments are so easy I get them done in 10 minutes max. Her discussions are very easy as well.

In class she requires you to participate and talk. She is understanding that your shy but she'll still push you slightly. Attendance isn't really graded but it's still taken.
