Mazen is new at Kwantlen this semester.His explanations are very clear and would like to explain once again until everyone knows that.Fair exams and afair marker.If you don't drop your mark,take it with Mazen and you'll find this course interesting.

teacher's nice class is HARD! he doesnt explain too well he will go back and explain it if u dunt understand but he doesnt explain well. the tests are ok but some of the questions are outta of like 18marks.......ur choice!

Mazen is sweet as hell! He has a way of making the hardest logic concepts seem very easy, and then you go and read the book, the same stuff covered in class, and you don't understand a word. Only a great teacher can do that ... Nice shoes!

i must say one of the easiest & nicest teacher ive ever had. he allows u 2 have cheatsheets for the test and final exam!! coolnessss!! i recomment getting him at an earlier time rather than a having a late class...trust me..ZZZzz

He is a very nice teacher. The class is extremely boring unless you are really into religion. The book is useless. he hands out all of the notes and then he allows you to make cheats sheets off them. if you make a good enough cheat sheet an A is very achievable.

A nice and helpful teacher. Easy tests. Easy marker. Not interesting lectures coz he only reads from the text... but this is what which makes his tests easy! =D

hes funny and hes a great speaker, really knowledgeable. one of the easiest classes i've taken, he lets you use cheat sheets on midterms. don't even have to read the book, everything is on the notes he hands out. if ur interested in phil then its recommended to take him.

I had to take logic for my program and it is not an easy course. I am very luck I got him. His notes made sense much more then the book. I would not have passed this course if he was not teaching it. A GREAT TEACHER.

i'm going into the final final exam of phil 1145 with an easy A.i agree that the structure was changed but that only made the course better. There is just so much to learn from this guy and you won't find a better teacher at Kwantlen.

The best course I ever took. It was the highlight of my week. Hes such a great speaker. I could listen to him talk all day :) Definitely take this prof.

Dr. Guirguis is an excellent professor. You can tell that he loves philosophy and he is always willing to stay after class and help students with any questions they have. Provides very clear notes for studying purposes and goes over them in class very thouroughly. I would definitely recommend Dr. Guirguis for philosophy!

He knows what his logic, and does a great job teaching you the fundamentals. He's extremely helpful, and sincerely wants his students to succeed. Make sure you attend class, not because it's mandatory, but because it'll be in your best interest. He's very particular when it comes to Logic, so make sure you do exactly what he says!!

Prof. Guirguis legitimately wants all his students to succeed in his class, and it comes across when he teaches. He's extremely clear, and ALWAYS willing to help. Super strict when it came to logic though, but he's clear with his expectations so no surprises.

you have to take his course to boost up your GPA. Just read his note, then you will get an A. what a easy~

Had Mazen two terms ago for phil 1150 and just loved him. this is my last course at kwantlen and i wanted to leave with good memories, thats why i took Mazen again. kwantlens best hands down!

Super course. Don't even need the book, his notes are much more clear. he allows cheat sheets on his tests & you can write as small as you want. he even gives hints about test questions to those who don't skip. Overall a great guy witha great personality. Really knows his stuff and obvivously very intelligent. take it, GPA booster for sure.

hes so cute! sometimes can be confusing but exams are extremely easy and he gives you notes. basically dont need your txt but is a good reference if you dont really know what hes talking about. there is no homework and only exams which are very easy!! really nice guy who wants to help his students succeed

He's really good, very kind and very helpful, considerate towards his students, shows that he cares. His notes are better than the book and so I hardly used the book except for exercises sometimes. Exams and easy and no homework most times. I would take him again. He is great. Highly recommend taking his classes.

Mazen is very clear in his lectures. This course (1145) overall is NOT difficult, but some of the concepts can be a little confusing, and Mazen uses good examples to help clarify some of these concepts. I took this course earlier with a different prof and ended up dropping. Mazen's lectures can be a bit dry but he is very helpful and understanding.

Disappointing. His exams are ridiculously easy if you read the text. Exams are worth 30% and only about 20 questions. Lectures are dry and repetitive, if you want to daydream go to them. He's nice but the laziest prof I've ever had, no passion at all. If you want an easy class take it but be prepared to sit in class and watch paint dry.

I would take another class with him! Just pay attention in class, take notes, do your reading and ask him if you need help. He marks fairly and is always willing to clearify something for you or take feedback. He is really, really good at explaining things, so if reasoning is a pre-req for you, take it with him.

1 of the best @ kpu. I'm not a fan of philosophy, but he made it as interesting as possible. He clearly loves teaching it. Seems mean at first, but actually very nice. Tests will be easy if you do readings and listen to his examples. I think he does mostly online classes now. Too bad bc I'd take more of his classes if not online.

Good, clear instructions for assignments and tests. It's a decent amount of reading, but the text and instructor's materials are well organized and easy to follow. DO THE STUDY QUESTIONS & PRACTICE PROBLEMS. They are the key to doing well on the tests. Cue cards are your friend for all the terms too. * Everyone should take this course! *

Easy to follow, wont take up to much of your time. Make sure to actually do the readings inorder to pass all the exams as they are very reflective of the reading and some of the videos. The final exam is all written and not difficult they are the same questions as the module questions. Hes a fair marker for the forums which are not time consuming.

Very easy course with all the notes and interesting discussions. Great instructor.

Notes, lectures, videos, discussions, all there from day 1. Interesting and easy course.

Same pro's and con's as any other asynchronous class. The class requires 2-3 hours per week with those being spent watching videos and reviewing slides. Exam questions are practical.

He is a really very good teacher, but not most interesting course. had to take it tho for program.

He replies to emails in an adequate manner. Make sure to just read the modules and you will do good on the exams.

No books, gives you everything you need, easy course.

Dr. Mazen amazing professor who doesn't believe in the typical testing method. He only grades you 4 quizzes (20% each) and 4 forums (5% each). You need to do the readings AND make notes- you won't do well in the quizzes otherwise. The forums are simple and relate to what you learned in the previous weeks/is your own ethical analysis of situations.

Such an interesting Business Ethics class. Sent him a lot of questions and he always answered right away. He's very smart. Loved our conversations. Thank you, Dr Guirguis. I hope to meet you in person one day :)
