Very energetic and interesting professor. Teaches you everything you need to know and makes sure you have a thorough understanding of your subject before you continue. You'll have to work through the class, but it won't be difficult.

She is a very energetic and nice teacher. She is very friendly and social and tries to know and talk to everyone in the class. She makes students participate in the class by asking them questions. She has a cute accent which is a mix of British and Indian.

Meena's completely nuts. Drops the F-Bomb constantly, but it's perfect for a 5 foot woman to express herself so freely. One day a week, and after the first day, I find myself wanting 3 or 4 times a week instead. - Prato

You have to be self-motivated student and have the ability to think for yourself. She makes you think and often challenge the way you think. I like her approach and very helpful, if you need it. She wants to see every student succeed--the best part of the class. No regrets with her.

She is SUCH a wonderful, nice lady! This class is an easy A and she is such a great professor. I learned more in her class in one semester than I did in all 4 years of high school!

Shes an AMAZING teacher. she is extremely helpful when u ask her for help. iF ure a bit conservative, dont take her, because she curses a lot and is very liberal. Shes awesome though.. was definitely an experience. Shes very strict on punctuality and attendance.. but her class is so interesting, YOU wouldnt wanna miss it. I recommend her TOTALLY!

i totally liked the class and she gave me great grades on my papers even though they got weirder and weirded each time i wrote one. she seemed to like it. she likes people to talk, so you will hear a lot of people's opinions on things. it can get pretty annoying if you don't give a**** what people think, but entertaining at least.

Intelligent is too inadequate to describe this bundle of energy and emotion. After 3 hours, I wanted to take her home and keep her (and then I could trash my library). The Meena’s of this world are few and far between. You’ll never forget her! BTW – the course was Mythology. Thanks to this prof – I enjoyed Homer more than Harper Lee! Loved her!!!

Mrs. Nayak is a cute little ball of energy. She is a lot of fun and very helpful. She will yell and curse and don't be late to her class or she will embarrass you in front of everyone. She is a wonderful, caring person and wants all of her students to succeed.

She was passionate.ill give her that.despite her passion, she was way to pressing on her own opinion on certian matters such as,it being ok for her personally to date other men outside of her current marriage, claiming love is only about your self fullfillment(just as 1 example)I did well,but was hurt that her opinion foged the learning environment

So to be completely honest, this is NOT a class you can fly through without trying. She's an intelligent professor and knows what she is doing, I am in her ELI class. This is in no way a super easy class, but it's really not that difficult either. She is a huge help and she answers e-mails quickly. I took this class online and she was quick to grade, and she was very interactive with the class. If you put even just a little effort into the assignments you should get an A. Directions are very clear

I took her online Eng 112 course. She is a fairly easy grader. She does not accept late assignments, even if it is only 10 minutes past the midnight deadline. If you do all the assignments, you're guaranteed to get an A in her class. Unlike other professors I've had, she responds by email very quickly. I recommend her.

You MUST go to class. The class is fun, but you have to work to get an A. She's extremely fair and will let you rewrite your paper if you get a C or lower. Though she will work with you instead of giving you anything lower than a C.

I took the online Eng 112 class. Prof. Nayak is a great person. She makes the class interesting and challenging. Make sure you submit all assignments and email her with any questions. She is very helpful and responds immediately. I received an A in the class, it was not easy and I did have to apply myself. I highly recommend her!!

She is amazing and actually cares about her students and what she is teaching! She really pulled in everyone for class discussion and taught me how to pick up really convoluted metaphors. Don't be late and turn off your cell!

Meena is the best educator I have ever had experience with. She teaches from the heart with great fervor and has an amazing talent for creating interest within her students and making them see the beauty of whatever she is teaching. I've taken several classes with her, and she is a great professor.

Menna is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Just make sure not to come late to her class. If you do all your work you should get a B. If you get an A on her final paper she will most likly give you an A in the class.

She is the awesomest teacher EVER!All you gotta to is be on time, have a newspaper with you and have a good argument prepared why you deserve an A at the end of the semester! Other than that, there's nothing to stress about and she works with you and tries her best to give everyone a good grade!

BE ON TIME. She's very charismatic. Many, many class discussions. Great professor, but she really chews you out if you're late. I loved her and am taking another one of her classes as a result. :) Doesn't accept late work, though. And attendance is absolutely mandatory or your grade suffers.

Excellent online teacher: very sweet, stayed in contact, graded fairly and explained what she didn't like, and gave a farewell. Prime example of how an online class should be run, and since I think that English is best learned at home (I find English classes to waste the most amount of time in class), I strongly recommend taking her for that.

I've taken Mrs. Nayak for three English classes thus far and it has been a pleasure just to be in the same room with this woman. Her classes are fun, the work is challenging, and her feedback is constructive and helpful. She's an absolute doll unless you piss her off. I've taken three of her classes already and am looking forward to the forth!

In NOVA, there are very few exceptional teachers in my experience. Professor Nayak is one of those few. I went into this class with little mythology knowledge, and left with a lot. She is very nice! If you enjoy class discussion and being called on, you will enjoy this class! She really loves to teach and grades aren't important to her so just go to the class, do the readings, and don't procrastinate on essays and you should be good!

Took her online course. Nice teacher, she always explained why she graded the way she did. The course has about 1,000 points with an extra credit opportunity.. I missed an assignment and did decent on all of my assignments and came out with a B+ without doing the extra credit assignment. I would definitely recommend her!

If I'd had the choice I would have skipped this class b/c everything she taught me, I already knew. But, she's a really good teacher and is invested in helping you pass. If you're easily offended, don't take this class, b/c she will rip your papers to shreds to improve your writing. Be in class on time and do all the assignments and you'll pass.

Professor Nayak is the only teacher I know that keeps me interested and wide awake during class. She has a wonderful energy. She is such a genuine person! I will be taking all her english classes. She is the only english professor that helped me the most! I never did good in english till now!

I was skeptical about taking an english class since I do not really like writing. But once I started reading and doing my assignments I was really hooked. If you need an extension she is very considerate and helps you when you need it. She answers em-mails in a timely matter and if she is late on grading she will let you know. I suggest taking her.

I have never given feedback on a professor, but she deserves it. She made the class fun and interesting. There will be a group project, which is major but a great experience.

She is a good professor at first I was worried because she came off as this rude person along the way I realized she was a nice professor and very understanding. She gives so much extra credit. If you choose this class be ready to read a lot because she had us reading three books . No tests just quizzes on the books and there online.

Great ENG 112 Professor. It was an easy A because no tests, only two papers, and one group project. She likes having class discussions. Was not a class you had to spend more than two hours a week on. No class preparation either. Very straightforward, just get the work done, and your fine.

Professor Nayak is incredibly organized, which is so helpful for an online course. She always sends out emails every Monday specifically saying what she needs you to do for that particular week. I didn't like the group project at the end. It's not too bad, but if you're chosen as the moderator then it's a ton of extra work. Overall, superb teacher.

Nayak was the most helpful, inspirational, and overall wonderful professor I have ever had at NOVA. She grades quickly and responds to emails within 24 hours. Her assignments are slightly difficult bc they make you think differently, however, she gives great feedback to help you on future assignments. I would take her for every course if possible.

Meena Nayak is one of the most entertaining, enthusiastic, and supportive professors I've had. Not only does she give engaging lectures, she encourages and even inspires out-of-class study. She's open to a tremendous variety of projects and displays a real sense of eagerness regarding her students' work.

I loved Prof. Nayak's Mythological Lit course. Excellent choice for anyone interested in mythology. She cares about the subject matter and wishes for her students to excel. Heavy reading material at times. Lots of writing. Exams are fair as well as grading. Be prepared to read a lot. I'd recommend her to anyone.

Get ready to write! She was a great teacher who really enjoys mythology. She wants her students to succeed and is willing to help any way she can. Make sure you have her go over your final project. That way you know if your citations are correct and your thesis is supported. Overall, she was fun and she helped make the class really enjoyable.

Every assignment was an essay - including the midterm & half the final. If you enjoy LOTS of writing, her class is for you. She's VERY strict about proper citation format. The 2nd half of the class is much more interesting than the 1st - with actual myths instead of just general analysis. She gives insightful feedback & knows her subject well.

She's a very passionate professor who tries to keep students engaged and make the class interesting. Always happy to help her students and easy to get in contact with; show her you're putting in effort and she will make sure you pass. There's big emphasis on interpretation of the readings and expect to be writing a lot.

She is very passionate about myth and will ask many questions to try to understand what you're thinking. She will randomly call you but she's very fun and the myths are great. Shes the sweetest.

Professor Nayak was a great professor. Although the class itself required a lot of reading time (The textbook is a must btw!) Professor Nayak gave great feedback, and was always there to help with anything you needed! I would recommend her to anyone, stick with the class, you may want to give up, but push through!

There were difficulties with technology and organization but they got better as the course went on. The beginning portion of the class is very restrictive in what she expects from you. Very little room for doing your own thing. Second half of the class, however, is much more relaxed. Final project allows plenty creativity to make up for the first.

If you do not like reading or analyzing, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Every week is reading with your analysis. There is a mid-term, final exam and analysis paper. However, Prof Nayak is the most HELPFUL professor I've met. Just simply reach out to her and she's willing to work with you. No late work accepted.

I took the mythology class which is less about learning mythology and more about analyzing myths. So you will be reading and thinking a lot! It's tedious but not too difficult. The midterm is effectively a big paper, but the final is a mix of paper and questions. Questions on the final are significantly harder than the practice final!

Honestly the best professor I had this semester. She is super super kind and ready to help. She is not a tough grade so don't be worried. Her classes are never boring always fun. I wish I had her for second semester.

In all honesty I was a bit skeptical of this professor at first. She does not accept any late work whatsoever, no matter the reason, and seemed very strict.
