Meg is a great teacher. She always takes time in class to answer any questions. She gives plenty of extra credit problems, if you choose to do them. And she tells you everything that's going to be on her tests. My class even got lil cheat sheets. =)

Kiessling is probably one of the best math professors at UTC! She does a great job of explaining the math "in english". If you do the homework, you will do fine on every test. She is very nice and approachable if you ever need help. There is nothing bad to say about her!! Highly recommeded! A+

She taught the class in a very straightforward manner. She makes sure everyone understands the material before moving on to new stuff. She offers extra credit as well as many opportunities for grades, so that students can do well. She genuinly wants students to do well in her class.

She is the best math teacher I've had this far. She tries to help as much as possible, always explained when asked. She DOES give homework and expects it to be done, she takes it up but gives warning about taking it up. Go to class, keep up with the work and you'll do fine. (Also the study guide posted usually is the majority of the test.)

A lot of the material is not anything you would need to know but that's common with math. She does a great job of explaining and working with you. Homework is only due every now and then, so do it, and she gives extra credit randomly for things like showing up for class. Just go and try, it should be pretty easy.

Kiessling is awesome!!! The class is relatively easy. Go to class b/c there is an attendance sheet everyday and sometimes she gives extra credit for going on days when not many people are there...Do all the homework and try hard for the regular tests, b/c if you have an 80 or higher at the end, you get exempt from the comprehensive final. Got an A

I got an "A." I never get A's in math. She explains everything well. Very Helpful. Also, she dosn't push you to know too much just to meet a deadline which is typical of many math teachers. I would say it was the best math class i have had yet. *don't know textbook "ISBN" it is wrong, i made it up.

This is the BEST teacher at UTC!! Work your schedule around this teacher's classes if you have to have a math class at UTC. She will help you with all that she can.

Best math teacher I have ever had. Probably the best at UTC. Do whatever it takes to take her for 131 or 136...it is worth scheduling difficulties I promise you. Gives a good bit of homework but really knows her stuff and can teach it well. Always willing to help. Can be exempt from final with 80 or above my semester!!! Must take!!!

Like the person below said, She is a excellent teacher, but I felt like we had to cover so much in so little time. There is weekly work, 4 tests, 3 projects, and a final. The tests feel really difficult, but partial credit really helps you do well on them. The projects are VERY HARD though. Either way, best teacher you could take for 136. Take her!

She actually made me understand math, I was dreading this class because I had 215 in the fall and barely passed. She was very helpful and her worksheets helped a great deal. She drops the lowest homework grade. She also gives the solutions to all the tests, quizzes and worksheets.

She explains everything extremely well! She will really help you understand math and is by far the best professor at UTC!! Attendance isnt mandatory which is always a plus and the test are very similar to study guide. Take Kiessling!!

As you can read on previous post- SHE'S GOOD. Early Childhood Ed. majors have to take too many tough math classes. The best teacher for math 215-16 is Dr. K., she doesn't teach it every semester, but when she does-put that class on your schedule! Dr. Darken doesn’t even use a BOOK! Mr. Edwards is ok. Does math dept. care about us (E.C.Educ.)?-I think not. But what can you do? Good luck everyone~~

I've never had a better math "teacher" in the way she explained things. Cons mostly had to do with work. A lot of homework/required assignments are given, and if you want to pass, you have to do the work. She assigns 2 "projects", that stumped some math teachers I asked for assistance. She drops lowest test grade, and final is doable.

One of the most caring, helpful people I have ever met. I went to her office on a weekly basis (w/o scheduling an appt.) and she always made time for me. Extremely helpful and gives a lot of partial credit on tests. Lectures are pretty much crystal clear. TAKE HER FOR 136!

she is the nicest lady!! i hate math so much, but she really knows what she is talkin about and is always available to help u. i havent received my final grade yet, be she always updates your grades online, lets u have retakes.. etc. she is very laid back, yet u still learn a lot and she keeps u involved. she is prob the best math teacher at utc!

She's the best calculus teacher I ever had. I struggled in this class from the beginning because I never had calculus in my life. I thought I was going to fail this class because I didn't understood the material at all. This lady is friendly and she will help you with anything you have trouble with.

She is a great teacher! You need to study and do the homework to get an A, but that's true with any class. The quiz and test questions come from the homework. She is so nice and very helpful. I would recomend her to anyone!

Professor Kiessling is a great teacher. She will do anything she can to help you do well. You have to go and turn in worksheets but she will help you on them if you need it. She is a great math teacher.

Best Math 136 teacher. I failed Math 136 under Walters.. but I retook it with Meg and pulled out with a B. Only uses the book for homework. Does everything she can to help you understand the material. Great Teacher!

Ms. Kiessling is the greatest math teacher I have ever had. As an adult student who hadn't had any math for over 5 years, she made it SO easy to understand and was extremely patient with even the slowest students. Don't be afraid to ask questions and ALWAYS DO YOUR HOMEWORK!! (she grades homework) TAKE HER, TAKE HER, TAKE HER!

She is a pretty good teacher. She allows a lot of time for asking questions about homework, quiz, and test problems. I am not doing well in this class..I may come out with a B but idk. I'm not that good at math and I don't practice with the homework. Take good notes, actually do the homework (even tho it isnt taken up) and you should do well.

Prof. Kiessling is a fair and generous teacher. She goes the extra mile for students. I personally didn't think the Calculus part was hard, so don't freak out because it's Calculus if you have a good grasp of Algebra. My only complaint was that tests were consistently too involved for the 50 min. allotted to take it. Other than that, she was great.

She is a great teacher. Do your homework because a lot of test questions come directly from that, your worksheets and the chapter reviews. I will be taking her for my next math as well.

She is a wonderful professor. Material is somewhat difficult but she teaches it like a PRO. SO HELPFUL!!!! She will go above and beyond to help you make a good grade. She stayed with me an hour after the exam to help. TAKE HER!

This class isn't easy but this prof Kiessling is soooo helpful! Take her if you can. Homework isn't graded she but goes over it in class if you have questions. She is always available to help. If anyone fails her class it's because they didn't try at all. Wish there were more prof. like her around.

If you fail this class, you didn't try at all. Even if you try a little bit, she will go way out of her way to make sure you pass. She is down to earth, very friendly, extremely helpful and understanding that you have another life besides school. Do yourself a favor and take MEG! Overall, a lot to learn, but she holds your hand through it.

Prof. Kiessling is one of the nicest, and most helpful teachers I've had in awhile. If you need any clarifications, don't hesitate to ask. The homework is optional, she goes over it in class (not graded). There's only 4 mandatory hw worksheets that you HAVE to do and they help your grade enormously. Basically, TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU CAN, it's easy:)

Prof. Kiessling is the coolest prof. ever. She understands that this is a gen ed class and that no one really cares about it. I know thats sad but she tries to help you out in any way that she can. She gives homework over each section but she gives study guides to her practice tests that are nearly identical to the real tests. She is fantastic!

Kiessling is a great teacher. She knows her stuff and will do her best to make sure you know yours. Tests are intimidating. If you keep up with your studying you will do fine. We had to go to the math lab once a week for our attendance grade. I just walked in, signed in & out, and left. Never stayed more than 5 minutes in that math lab. Got an A+

This teacher is AMAZING. My best professor at UTC so far. I absolutely recommend her. She is very clear, and really know what she is talking about. I recommend you do all the homework on time, but just in case you get busy she will open back up all the my math labs at the end of the year.

Meg is a great teacher! Most of the homework is online on MyMathLab, and some is on worksheets. Homework is 30% of the grade which really helps your grade up if you just DO IT. The tests are not hard and she gives you forumla sheets for them as well as practice tests a few days before the test. Even if you're not good at math, you'll do good!

Meg is seriously the best teacher I have ever had. She will take the time at the beginning of every class to go over any homework questions (or questions in general) that you may have. She is welcoming and genuinely happy to help anyone who comes in during her office hours if you're struggling. If at all possible, do yourself a favor and take her!!

I had Professor Kiessling for PreCal. She's a great teacher/person and wants her students to succeed. It's math so if you don't pay attention you will fail. The book was only used for homework. She's happy to answer any questions is very available. Would definetly recommend.

She was such a great teacher to have for Statistics. You could tell she really wanted you to understand and would stop and help students if they were unsure. There is a lot of homework, but it helped me understand the topics even more. I would definitely recommend her if you are taking Stats.

she is a good professor but the subject is hard and she has a lot to cover so it feels very fast especially if there is something you don't understand. Most homework is online and if you do it in advanced and ask her questions about what you didn't understand it will be much easier. You have to work hard to do well but definitely not impossible.

She is one of my favorite math teachers ever. She is one of those teachers who write out everything when solving problems. There is homework after every lecture and it's typically online, but there have been some textbook assignments. She posts her notes after each lecture and she posts a practice test for each test. She is super nice and awesome!!

I love this professor! 5 exams, one dropped. Extremely accessible outside of class, office hours 4 days a week. Explains everything clearly and will answer any question. Does assign a lot of homework but its to prepare you for quizzes and exams, and will answer any questions on these before they're due - very beneficial! TAKE HER IF POSSIBLE.

She truly wants students to understand the material, not just pass. As an engineer she's really good at apply the math and explaining it well. She's forgiving on tests if she sees a lot of people struggled. This was the first time I earned such a high grade in a math class and ACTUALLY learned and remembered the material. She's awesome

She is such a great professor. I have took her twice for precal 2 and calc 1 and I can say I have enjoyed her both times. She is willing to help you at all times and is extremely understanding. Calculus was more difficult but if you show up and pay attention it's very easy to get a good grade in the class!

She was as helpful as a professor could be I would highly recommend taking her if you are able to. she answers any question anyone had and at her office hours she was very helpful.

This class was incredibly challenging but Ms. Kiessling helped in every way possible. She answered my questions on due dates very quickly with in depth explanations. Lots of homework, and attendance is a necessity, but it's worth it for a professor who will help you understand as difficult a subject as calculus.

Even though I had her online, it was very clear how considerate and caring she was even over email. She is very understanding if you happen to make a little mistake and is willing to work with you. Her online lectures are very clear and easy to understand. If you have the chance to take her, I highly recommend it!

She was a great lecturer in class. Covid hit and her online lectures were less intriguing. Calc 2 is difficult, so take notes. Gives partial credit on tests so show your work. Do the practice tests - very similar to tests. WebAssign homework with unlimited tries.

I didn't enjoy the class, but I don't think it was her fault. She does notes in class with you, so she tries to make sure it's all understandable to you. She was very accessible through email with anything, and she was super nice. You also receive your tests/quizzes back so you can see what to improve. She has areas to grow in, but she's not bad.

She is always down to help when you need it. She moves deadlines for those who cant complete work on time. Her tests are no joke but when you do the hw it makes it so much easier. If I had to take this class over and over again I would choose Prof. Kiessling. Also she is as nice as you are going to get when it comes to professors

Professor Krissling is very good at what she does. She has very clear lectures that mostly portray the homework. Calculus is hard no matter the teacher and some of the more advanced derivative material is very tough, but she has many sessions to help and will grant extensions for good reasons (sickness etc). You have to study or you will bomb.

She is amazing. I had her this year and she is so understanding. She gets people forget things and knows how to actually teach the concept of math. She is so kind and friendly in class and makes it enjoyable. She lets you make up assignments and her tests and quizzes require you to study, but she's a kind grader.

Kiessling is the best calculus professor at UTC, period. If you have the availability to take her, DO IT. She is very helpful with homework and worksheets. If you go to her office hours regularly, she will drop hints about content on upcoming exams if you ask.

Professor Kiessling is an amazing professor. She cares about her students and will work with you. She allowed us to do in class corrections to exam 1 and a take home exam for exam 2, both were open note. Even when she could not be in class because of family health issues she answered emails and posted online lectures.

Love her! She is very nice and even if you get the question wrong on the test, she will most likely give you some credit for it. Quite a bit of homework but the homework is unlimited tries and give you step by step solutions so it actually helps you learn. If you actually do the work and try to understand it you will be fine.

Dr. Kiessling is powered by her love of teaching math and sweaters. She will go out of her way to make sure you succeed in her class; you just need to ask questions. She is an incredibly forgiving grader and will give you opportunity after opportunity to improve your grade and succeed. Always do her review sheets ;)

Professor Kiessling is an amazing teacher. Calculus is not easy, but she makes it very easy to understand. Ask her any question over hw during class and she will work them out. Calc was kinda fun when she would teach it.

This course was absolutely a breeze for me, as Professor Kiessling made the lessons easy to understand and is very open to answering questions. She gives some extra credit opportunities and zoom meetings for tutoring. There is hw assignment after just abt every class meeting but they help you understand the lessons.

THE BEST! Literally do not take anyone else. I PROMISE! Took prof. Kiessling for calc 1 and 2 and I would take her again for every class if I could. She is the most caring and understanding prof I've ever had. Her class is hard but that's just cause calc is hard, but if you do your homeworks and study for the tests she will make sure you pass.

Prof. Kiessling was honestly one of the best professors at UTC! Calculus is hard and goes over a lot of material and rules. There was around 2-3 (1/2 hour-1 hour) lecture videos with a corresponding HW every week. Along with 4 quizzes (but are actually tests based off how much they wight) and 3 exams + final exam.

While calculus is a difficult subject, this professor is wonderful and really cares about her students. The HW she gives helps you grasp the subjects and sometimes we are given problems for extra credit. She is SO kind and patient and before each test we get a quick review day for refreshing, and she does it in a way that's beneficial.

10/10 professor.
