Meg is very clear and knows her stuff very well. Makes the material so very easy when she lectures and goes over it, even though it's fairly difficult stuff. Her exams are kinda tough, until she goes over them afterwards then it's like DUH. Very helpful and willing to help anyone out.
These comments are only for her physiological psychology class. In Stats, she is alot easier to understand.
She made it very understandable. This is not an easy class, but it is very interesting. She makes sure you understand a topic fully before moving on. Excellent teacher
If you don't attend class..take her. Doesn't take attendance. Her tests are kind of hard though.
Not the most difficult material in the world, she explains it very clear and is always willing to help out a student who has questions. Her exams are TOUGH though!!
Tough teacher, but knows her stuff. She explains things so that EVERYONE understands it. Go to class and you will do great in her class. Her door is always open to help as well. I definitely recommend.
Meg is awesome. Smartest woman ever. Her classes are pretty easy and interesting IF YOU GO TO CLASS! Exams are tough, but ask if you don't understand and she'll be happy to explain anything. I've taken 3 classes with her and loved each and every one. :-)
Dr. W. is one of the most intelligent speakers of the whole university. She's very, very fair and open minded. She makes herself available for students' questions and makes herself very well understood. Her strict adherence to the syllabus kept me focused; yet, I never heard any of my classmates mention a feeling of being rushed.
The smartest professor that I've ever had. She demonstrates great enthusiasm for that class that helps make it fun to go to. Attendance isn't required, but I'd recommend it. I didn't read for it and pulled off a near perfect score, but reading may be required for those who don't come to class all the time. I learned tons in this class.
ABSOLUTELY LOVED HER! I rearranged my schedule for next semester to get another class with her. One of the smartest people I've ever met. Tests are wordy, but if you go slow, you can figure them out. You don't really have to use the book at all. Super wonderful lady!
I absolutely loved Doctor Waraczynski! She is the most intelligent and competent professor I have ever had. There was not a class that I did not enjoy and she made the most complex material understandable. Attendance is not required, but I would recommend going to class. Exam questions are primariy based off of material covered in class.
She is a very intelligent professor. I personally didn't find her helpful when I would go to her office hours. Her tests are extremely hard, attend every lecture and use the book for clarity.
Understands the topics very well and is able to clearly state concepts in a variety of ways so that you are able to understand better. Very helpful after class and office hours. I took the class "just for fun" to apply to babysitting - It is a difficult course! Make time for the application papers.
This class is very difficult and should only be taken (at least with this professor) if you are required to for your major! Professor makes herself available, but it is tough grading. Even though attendance is not required, I would recommend it for in-class examples.
Had her for psych 301. Her fail fate of this class is about a 60%, SO TAKE CAUTION. If you are not comfortable spending your whole semester studying neuroscience, DO NOT TAKE THIS. She grades tough and tests on material not gone over in class, but mentioned in the book. I hated this class- it's too big of a headache and i would not recommend her.
The course is awesome. Papers and tests are rediculous though.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! her fail rate is 60 percent. literally spent all my time on this class and still didnt get it. the material is very interesting but if you are not part of her research lab then she is very cold and rude. i cannot express enough how much i wish i was never in this class.
This class could have been amazing had it been with a different professor. She really ruined it. She's rude. Encouraged students who asked questions just to ask a question, and graded impossibly on papers and tests even with office meetings. You literally have to "dumb down" what u say, or u get accused of just regurgitating lecture material.
The class was based off of around 200 points. She believes that everyone has taken a stats course before when it is an Intro course. she is rude and unhelpful. She makes you feel stupid and does not want to help students. But she has no problem ripping your test conclusions apart and failing you. I had a 78% before the last exam and the final.
This class had ridiculously hard exams. I went to EVERY single class and understood the content but my answers were not up to her standards. This intro class was taught as a 400 class. Would not recommend this if math is not your strong suit!
She is very very difficult! If you are a biology major then take her class if not then do not! She is impossibly tough and should be teaching graduate students and not undergrads! I went in for extra help and I'm still not doing well! So take from this what you will the choice is yours... Good luck!
For the love of God, don't take this class! I am a smart student and worked by butt off and she graded unbearably harshly. She does not treat you like an undergrad and laughs if you say it's "a tough class". Hard tests, grades papers and essay proportions so hard! Expect to never receive even a B in this course. RUN!
Dr. Waraczynski is the most intelligent professor at the university, especially getting her PhD from Harvard University. Hands down the best professor. You will get the grade you deserve.
Honestly, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR unless you are majoring in psychology and have an extreme passion for it. It's not that she is a bad teacher but she's very confusing at times and will NEVER email the class as a whole. She is an unnecessarily tough grader for a class like this. Wouldn't recommend unless you have no other options.
I didn't miss a single class and I still did not pass. She is a extremely tough grader. I understood everything she said in class, but if you don't answer the way she likes, you will not pass. She says do not use her words, but if you don't, you're wrong and if you do, you don't get credit. Take anyone except her! Don't waste your time and money!
I've had her for a couple classes now. She is more than willing to help you if you need it but you need to ask! She will take the time to make you understand if you ask. Yes her class is hard but it's interesting and she has a passion for it. She is one of my favorite professors
If you want a good grade, DO NOT TAKE HER! Her lectures are so boring. Monotone voice. Tests are extremely hard. If you do end up taking her, you have to go to every class, take extremely well written notes, and read the book front to back. There's a lot to memorize and although the S.I is helpful, don't expect anything above a C.
She gets a bad wrap and as a professor she deserves it. Don't take her. She does try to make lectures interesting and that's the only positive. She knows her fail rate is around 80% and makes it next to impossible to pass with a decent grade, while at the same time says she is there to help, yet, if you go to her office she makes you feel stupid.
She's not going to accept any crap, period. She expects you to read all the chapters, attend all lectures, and start writing a good paper at least a month before it's due. However, in return she will provide you with great lectures, study guide for exams, and help in office hours. Bio students will have it easier than Psych due to the material.
Would actually learn more if she slowed the pace of the class and made it a bit less difficult.
Horrible HORRIBLE class. Expects you to have taken a statistics course before taking hers. Whenever asked a question she would make another student answer it for her saying, "I already know this stuff so it'd be pointless for me to answer it." As if that makes any sense, right? Way too fast paced, not given enough time to learn material.
She is a Harvard graduate, so she expects you to be as good as her. Lectures are very dry and a lot of stuff she talks about in class is different than the book. Also, expect to not do well if you don't study for her exams or quizzes. She also gives you 2 application papers that are confusing and she grades rather harshly. Beware.
Her lectures are fast paced, but they make sense if you pay attention. HOWEVER, i have went into each exam very confident of at least a B but yet she grades extremely hard and i have gotten all D's. She grades extremely tough. Going in for help doesn't help with material, she just tells you to study more basically. DO NOT TAKE HER
Avoid this class at all costs. I am a straight A student and I understand college classes will be tough. However; I met with Dr. W twice a week, read the book, spend hours upon hours studying, & attended every single class and I am still leaving the class with a C. If you are very dedicated to psychology you MIGHT enjoy it, but if not DO NOT TAKE.
Dr. Waraczynski is a great professor. She challenges you to do your own work instead of holding your hand through the course. Statistics isn't an easy class to begin with so I'm not going to lie and say it was easy. She's absolutely willing to help you if you ask for it! I would highly recommend taking her class! She's tough but it's well worth it
Dr. Waraczynski is really amazing. She understands that this is a difficult class and asks if anyone needs clarification before moving on. She's funny, helpful, and understanding. The tests can be tough, but she lets you use your notes. There's also a lot of hypothetical thinking, so be aware. GO TO CLASS & SI, TAKE NOTES, and READ THE BOOKS.
She is not understanding at all. Over half the class did not finish with an exam and she responded if she can take it then we should be able to, that maybe we should find a different way to study.
Everything may seem good you may even understand everything in class but on the exam some how many people fail. Her exam questions are very wordy. She is Not understanding or very helpful. She does not give extra credit at all. I do not recommend taking her!
Worst teacher I've ever had. She is not thorough in her explanations and expects you to learn concepts by yourself. If you can't explain psychology as good as she can, she will grade you awfully. Seriously, do not take her if you don't have to.
Dr. Waraczynski is a Harvard graduate, so her teaching styles and expectations are going to be at Ivy League college expectations. Be prepared to actually think outside the box and apply the material to real world situations. There's no memorization of class notes or the reading. She's not understanding, quite harsh & expects a lot. Don't take her.
Dr. Waraczynski stands out at UWW. She is intelligent, analytical, and expects that you actually learn and put hard work into the class. She gives very detailed feedback. This class will make you a better student. It's more than worth putting in the extra time.
do not take her. She is mean. We took an exam and she did not let our class stay even a minute after to finish. Doesn't believe in partial credit on exams. talks to students like they are five years old. doesn't have internet at home so there's no way of contacting her. Talks in baby voices and makes weird faces during lecture. Forces participation
She is a nice lady and is very passionate about what she teaches but you need to remember that she is a Harvard graduate and she is insanely hard while grading. The material that she puts on tests are ridiculous and you have to know all the material. ALSO the application papers are awful. I thought I aced it and got an F
Makes her expectations very clear. Cares about students learning and doing well in this course. When individuals say that this prof is "too harsh," they most likely didn't attend the majority of courses nor did they spend ample time preparing for this class. Seems to enjoy answering questions. My favorite professor in the entire university, by far.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. I REPEAT. DO NOT. I am a honors student, went to every class, read chapters out of the book and still managed to get a D in her class. So bad. This class made me question dropping out... not really... but its pretty bad.
Meg is the worst teacher I have ever had. Tried going to her office hours and she had an attitude with me. Writes rude comments on my exams, and I have never been one to fail in classes, but I will probably fail this class. I asked a question in class and she told me I "didn't ask the right question." DO NOT take stats with Meg.
I needed to ask a question about a paper a week before it was due and she said to come during office hours. I had class during all of her office hours, so I asked to set up an appointment, she said she didn't have time for an appointment. So I asked if I could email her questions and she said she didn't answer questions over email. Need I say more?
I went to every class, paid attention, and did the best I could in the class but still didn't get the grade I wanted. She writes rude, degrading comments on your papers and grades too hard on exams as well... She does well at teaching the material but in the end it doesn't seem worth taking her class.
She's a really good professor and does a great job at teaching and presenting the material. Her tests are pretty difficult (at least they were for me, 3.3 average student) and there's always a written part that is graded very specifically.
This is the hardest class I have taken! I have over a 3.0 GPA, and consider myself relatively intelligent. She grades so harshly, you will likely not get much credit on writing assignments. Her grading rationale is all or nothing. Make a mistake on a small part of an assignment, you will get credit. Avoid at all costs!
Dr. Waraczynski is an intelligent person, especially in her field of study. I would recommend the class only because of the material, and no other reason. It was very interesting but the midterm papers were not needed in my opinion. I do like how she utilizes the clickers because it helps hammer home some tough questions. Take at your own risk.
Difficult course but Dr. Waraczynski understands that. Success in this class is very possible but it comes with hard work and showing her your commitment to learning. She can be tough and it gets frustrating at times but she is willing to help. You get to use all materials on tests which is helpful but the online quizzes are somewhat challenging.
This is an upper level stats course and consists of weekly statistical analysis reports. No exams, a few open note quizzes. I really enjoyed this class with Meg. She has a sense of humor and is clear and concise; she takes the time to make sure that the class understands what she is presenting. She doesn't have internet at home so prepare ahead.
I had her for a difficult course, but she gives lots of great feedback for you to improve your work.
I wouldn't recommend taking a class with her. She is a very tough grader, and doesn't take time to explain concepts on a student level. If you don't have a base knowledge before taking the class, i wouldn't take it. She expects you to understand concepts and when you ask what something means she makes you feel dumb in front of the rest of the class
Dr. Waraczynski is very smart and kind, but tough. Her powerpoints are good, but when I'm studying, I feel like important information is missing. There are 4 exams, when all of my other classes have 3. I wish there were review days before the exams, and not just another lesson. I feel like we are expected to know too much detail in a short time.
She is a VERY hard grader. You are expected to buy her course reader as the book for the class which is in her own words and difficult to understand. She is NOT clear when teaching. Exams are VERY hard. I would recommend taking another professor. DO NOT TAKE HER! I took this class in my last semester and now will have to take a summer class.
DO NOT TAKE. She makes you feel dumb when you ask questions. Exams are very difficult. She gave people in my class a 0/50 on a paper they turned in. I have a 3.0 and am not doing well in this class at all. If you are especially a psych major I do not recommend at all.
I was really nervous to take this class. I found that she is very organized, lays everything out for you, wicked smart, and loves to help students learn. She knows the lecture material is difficult so she pauses often to let people ask questions and she does not make you feel dumb for asking. She is one of the most thorough profs I've ever met.
I don't understand why she has any good ratings. I failed her class and retook it with Shen Zhang, and I got a B+. Meg is impossible to please. She graduated from Harvard and talked to the class like we are Harvard students too. She makes it way harder than it needs to be, and statistics is already hard. Worst decision you could make!
Difficult class and hard grader. Exams only out of 25 points and takes off a lot for small errors. Even going to every class, paying attention, and taking notes I still struggle. Very organized syllabus, just hard material.
She does not teach at all. She expects you to teach yourself all this difficult material. She takes off for the smallest things on exams that it is ridiculous. She is not a good teacher and I do not recommend taking her
AVOID! She is a good lecturer and answers many questions. She has in-class quiz questions that help you practice the material. Her exams are difficult with more difficult essays. SHE IS VERY PARTICULAR ABOUT WORDING! YOU WILL LOSE POINTS. No chance at redemption on any papers you might get zero points on. Terrible conversion to online due to COVID.
I never had stats in high school and she wasn't much help. She talked down to me honestly. Her book she makes you use is a joke.
she is hands down the worst professor ive ever had. she does not help her students whatsoever. she makes you feel stupid. going online made the class even more difficult and she did NOTHING to help her students at all. she is terrible. DO NOT take her at all. you will regret it.
I can't believe some of these reviews. I've never taken stats but this was painfully unchallenging. Material is NOT HARD. She lets you use your notes & the booklet for exams. Go through & highlight important things & you'll be fine. The thing I hated was that you have to baby-splain everything on exams; they don't actually test your understanding.
Meg is a very good professor, she won't give you the answer right away because she wants you to be able to figure it out for yourself first. She wants you to get the technique of solving the problems down so you are able to solve them on your own in your future career.
Dr. Waraczynski is a very good professor. As it turns out, students tend to give teachers poor ratings because they thought the material was challenging. If you want to really learn the content, take her class. If you want an easy A, look elsewhere. Her course reader is very helpful in the course and she has clear objectives for you in the course.
Not accessible outside of class, no WiFi at her home apparently... responses to emails are absent. You will learn in her class but will have grey hair by the end. Other professors are recommended over her.
I have never had such a terrible professor in my life. She is the worst I have ever met. Her content is difficult and when you try and ask questions she is demeaning and makes you feel stupid. She is full of herself and likes to act like shes special because she went to Harvard. She needs to pay attention when students say they are struggling
Don't take this professor! She loves to belittle and make you stupid for not understanding the material. I did all the suggested steps and MORE to prepare for an exam: read, make 6 page study guides, rewatched lecture videos, and attend every optional class. Her feedback is not educational/helpful, she will make you feel like an idiot.
You can follow the guidelines to a tee and still not receive full credit for an assignment. And when you can use an example from the book/lecture and will still not get a good grade because "this is not an example of xxx" even when taken directly from the book/lecture.
If you have a chance to take a class with her, do it! She's the best professor I've ever had. She is so intelligent but makes the material easy to understand, and the setup of the class makes learning the material manageable and even fun! She notices when you don't understand something, and will take the steps to make sure that you succeed.
Very challenging class. I asked for her to look over my paper and she said it wasn't "fair" to others. Supposedly doesn't have internet at home and answers your email 3+ days later. Extremely tough grader. Impossible to get a perfect score. The average on a paper was a 56% in a 75 student class. I spent days studying and still did badly on exams.
This class is so difficult for no reason. Don't email with questions because she will respond rudely and belittle you for not understanding. Supposedly she went to Harvard so maybe that's why she expects Ph.D level work for her class. Would not recommend taking this course with Prof. Waraczynski.
Professor Waracynski was consistent, to say the least. Consistency is good especially when it comes to grading everything with the most difficulty possibly. A professor must be consistent in being vague about paper directions. Also, make sure to disrespect and belittle the students for their lack of knowledge.
Dr. Waraczynski is hands-down the best teacher I have ever had in all my years of schooling. I plan to be a teacher and I plan to heavily make use of her example because after three classes with her, she has become a role model of mine. Incredibly qualified, great lectures, no complaints at all. Do yourself a favor and take one of her classes.
For the love of god please never take this professor. This is the hardest class I have ever taken and its an intro course. Dr. Waraczynski is the most difficult grader I have ever seen. Our class average on a 15 page final paper was a 25/50 which is an F. Good luck getting above a D in this course. Save yourself the trouble and run
Not helpful at all, even in office hours.
If you are a normal student this class is hard. She talks like you are supposed to be a psychologist when we are still learning. She doesn't understand that students have other classes. Lots of exams and 2 big papers. Both my papers would've gotten me an A in my other classes and she told me she had to find ways to not fail me on them. The worst.
While the class is a bit difficult, it was very well taught. I understand the math and how to use it, but I struggled with explaining the why. But overall, the professor was easy to understand and pushed for her students to try and get better. Explaining might be a turn away for some, but I think it measures whether you actually understand it all.
I would be wary to take her if you do not like to read or constructive feedback. I think many people who wrote negative reviews have taken her words too personally. She does care about her class, but she definitely grades papers with a keen eye as opposed to other professors. She also gives good feedback though. Not very accessible outside of class
She is the worst professor ever I would NEVER take her again. I went into her office hours and she made me feel VERY dumb for not understanding the concept. You will never get full credit on anything. I spent many hours with the tutors and I failed both of my papers with the help of the tutors. Save yourself and get a different professor.
You will actually learn if you take this class with Dr. Waraczynski. Quizzes are on textbook readings which aren't too hard, just read the chapter. Go to class, because she grades on clicker participation and it bumped my grade up 4%.
DEFINITELY a hard grader, but it's not impossible to pass. My best advice is to GO TO OFFICE HOURS!!! She's understands things super well in a one-on one setting. Lectures however are incredibly boring
I struggled a lot during this class and genuinely tried my hardest as someone who sucks at math in every single aspect. The final was an awful cumulative one and she boasted that if we showed up to class and did our homework that if we were on the cusp of a grade, she'd bump up our grade. Not true at all, I was .02% away from getting up to a C-.
Professor Waraczynski is a nice professor, but the class basic statistical methods in psychology made me want to pull my hair out. Her grading on tests was extremely tough, I normally got A's and B's on math tests, but my highest test grade in her class was 70, lowest 34. If you plan on skipping class you should expect to fail.
Without question, the best professor I've ever had. I graduated a few years ago and work in biological research and data analysis.I continue to go back to my notes from her classes to this day. She will challenge you, but you will learn so much and how to apply it. Very thorough and patient and covers complex nuanced topics in a very accessible way
Professor W was okay. I would understand the concept of how to do something before the test, then take the test and the questions were structured differently than what we learned. The averages for exams were either really high or low and she didn't care about the lows, just the highs. I asked her a question and she made me feel stupid for asking!
Dr. Waraczynski is a very smart woman, however, because of this she makes you feel dumb for asking questions in class. In addition if you don't write things out a specific way on exams be prepared to fail the test. She is a very harsh grader and will rarely discuss the issues you had on an exam with you of how you can improve.
She is sort of rude, and often doesn't give clear instructions. The class average for essays was a C- when I took her. Last essay I got from her she marked me down so much I dropped a letter grade, and she gave me a sample essay to see "where I messed up". When she did review my essays she would insult my intelligence. Not worth the headache
Dr. W is a tough grader but she isn't unfair. Behavioral neuroscience is a complex topic, but the level of depth we went into was not that of a 300s level bio course. Unit 1 was intro bio concentration gradients and basic A&P. If you're a bio major, this isn't a hard class. It is a lot of work. Seems like some people don't want to put in the work
The class is quite hard, especially if you're not good at math. It's a lot of analyzing and making sense of data which is a lot different than other math classes. You get a book that the professor made to help you, exams are all open note, homework is helpful. You won't do awful if you put the work in and pay attention. Required a lot of time.
Dr. W is a smart prof but her exams and classes are so difficult. I've had to take her 3 times and regret it everytime. I went into her office hours for help and she made me feel so stupid, we just went in circles about the question I came in for. She doesn't seem to care the averages on her exams aren't normal. Most exam averages were a 75..
I'm shocked to see how many negative reviews Dr. Waraczynski has on here. She has been one of my favorite teachers so far at Whitewater. Her lectures were very engaging and I asked plenty of questions during class and never once did she make me feel stupid. If you do the work it reflects in your grade. Absolutely loved this teacher!
I will never take one of her classes again. She is clearly very smart, but she goes on tangents during class all the time. She never answers questions straight out and goes in circles around the main concept. Even if you go to her office hours, it won't help you. Her tests are long and hard, and she has no clear grading criteria.
This course was challenging, but manageable for an intro stats class. Dr. Waraczynski is a tough grader and expects detailed answers on exams. However, every exam is open book/notes, and she advises students to make cheat sheets. If you do the online homework well, make cheat sheets, and study a little, the class really isn't as bad as people say.
I've had her twice and regret it so much. I was in the hospital twice and she says participation doesn't matter but you have to do clicker questions in class and I tried to reach an understanding about that plus the quizzes but she didn't care. She's really not accomodating. The only reason she's not a one is because I like that she makes us talk
Meg was a very good prof but she is NOT easy to get into contact with outside of class, no wifi at home. also, take advantage of office hours as she does not directly answer questions and expects you to figure it out on your own and she will not guide you there. LIVE by your course guide! I learned a lot from her but she does not make it easy!
She's very knowledgable but is an extremely tough grader. I'm a junior with a 4.0 and this class took me down. She is not accommodating at all and if you miss class there is no way to make up clicker question credit from in-class. Lectures also get very long. I would not recommend if you cannot focus all your energy on this one class.
This class was awful. Nobody I sat by could understand her teaching. I met with a tutors who didn't understand how she was teaching and therefore couldn't help me. I went to her office once and it did not help. She told me I didn't try hard enough and shouldn't go to tutors yet she didn't help me neither. She told us not to email her with questions
First class I took with Dr. Waraczynski. One of the best professors at UWW; I would describe her as a favorite within the psych department. This is who you want if you take your education seriously as Waraczynski is professional, respectful and kind. Do not expect someone laid back and overly friendly. At moment, I'm taking another class with her.
The online assignments were easy to understand with the booklet that she made, but during exams there always seemed to be something "wrong" in my explanation-of-answer paragraphs. I asked for help from her and she then asked me if I was ever in "supplemental" math classes (special education) in high school (I was not). Upsetting to say the least.
Meg is very talented, however she isn't good at directly answering your question- rather she goes around the answer instead of a direct result. She always says "it's not what I want it's what's correct" even though that's the same thing? She looks for very detailed and analytic results in her teaching and is a very harsh grader. Not very friendly
I did get an F, but hear me out. Meg expects very detailed responses, that you can learn the concepts within a week, and is not very good at explaining the topics, yet is a harsh grader. She is the reason for feeling so stressed during the semester. She knows in her heart she is getting paid and it doesn't matter to her if you pass or not.
you only get graded on exams, problem sets, and realizeit assignments. while meg is very knowledgeable, she is a very harsh grader and lecture heavy. attendance is not required but you will not pass if you don't show up. she took off 4 points on my exam because i used one word incorrectly. funny bc it didn't impact my correct interpretation.
She is nice, but her class is very difficult. She doesn't have internet access so it is hard to contact her. There are lots of assignments using an online program that is very confusing, and there are 4 exams + a cumulative final. The exams are difficult and her grading is confusing. Again, she seems like a lovely person but not a great professor.
There was so much homework which would be fine if it was all beneficial for the exams, but most of it was not at all similar to the exam format. It felt like I was teaching myself, which is something I struggle with. She says she's available to help us but it doesn't seem like she is actually helping at all.
HATE STATS! If ur not good at stats, get ready for a living nightmare. Meg wants her students to succeed, but this is truly the hardest class I've taken in my life. No matter how many hours I put into this class I couldn't grasp the concepts for tests. Went to office hours, but couldn't understand stats. If you have her for psych215, goodluck.
This professor is the worst professor I have ever had. I still get mad about this class when I took it over a year ago. I had a 4.0 until I took this class. If you are required to take this class, choose anyone else.
This professor is awful. She does not help at all with questions and does not explain anything well. This class literally caused me so much anxiety. She was so focused on spss that she never taught us how to do the actual handwritten equations for the PAPER exams. Please do not take her she should not be teaching anymore.
I don't understand the distaste for Professor Waraczynski. I'm in my 3rd year of college, and I feel like I never had a firmer grasp on the content of a course than I do while taking this class with her despite me having a B. She is very open to help, and her lectures are very clear. She's challenging, but if you work hard, it pays off.
I also had Waraczynski for Psych301. Unlike what many people say, she is one of the best professors at Whitewater in the psychology department. No doubt about it that she is a tough grader, but this is because she genuinely cares about your learning. If you put in the effort, she will match your effort and you will learn plenty.
Extremely tough grader but no clear instructions on application papers. Doesn't break down things in class to a students level says just read the textbook when going to office hours
Meg is an EXTREMELY tough grader, like gave me an F on a paper I thought I did great on tough grader. This class is very confusing if you don't attend lecture so don't skip often. Be very clear to outline the grading criteria on all assignments, or she WILL find a way to dock points. I'm sure she's nice outside of class but man did this class suck.
She is too tough of a grader. Tough grading is fine if the goal is to encourage you to provide more detail to support your learning, but that isn't the case. For example, she uses clickers, and you can answer 80% of the questions and receive a D for the assignment. That, along with how she grades application papers, is unfair to students overall.
Do not take this professor if you plan on asking questions in class or might need extra help. Rarely available and makes you feel bad if you don't understand. Hostile classroom environment! Also she made negative comments about my clothing in the first week of class.
Meg is a knowledgeable professor, but her teaching style can be challenging. Lectures are dense, and she expects detailed responses. Attendance is mandatory, and the exams are difficult. However, the course materials, including the custom textbook, are helpful if you put in the work. Unstuck ai was a game-changer for my study prep.
She is actually the worst professor I have ever had. She is horrible for teaching if she does teach. Not helpful for commuters as in when it is snowing she will still try and have you come in to turn in something even if the roads are unsafe, god forbid you send a email because she will complain about her emails being full. Is rude for no reason.
She contradicts herself. She has said multiple times that she only grades homework based on completion. She said she doesn't even look at homework! Well, I got a 10/15 on a homework assignment despite completing it. I emailed her about it, and she said she didn't like my answers because I didn't show work and didn't mention terms she used in class.
She was the absolute worst. Her exams were not like the homework. She created her own textbook and website that you have to use. I have never spent so much time, effort or tears on a class until I got here. It was mandatory and I do not even have a psychology degree. I love all the other professors and she is the only one I say NEVER TO TAKE!!
She makes you feel stupid when you ask a question in class, but then doesn't directly answer it. She gave no instruction on the final paper, vague guidelines and she grades harshly based on VERY specific terminology. She graduated from Harvard decades ago and expects a Harvard level of understanding for an INTRO to behavioral neuroscience class.
