Terrible experience. If you want to learn something, do not take her class.

From my experience do not take her.

I took professor Wither's creative writing class and it was horrible. She is a very nice person but an awful teacher. She literally did not teach us anything!!! Also, she gave me a grade lower then I deserved. When emailed about the lower grade, she said I didn't meet the complex rubric requirements (she never gave us a rubric)!!!

She's very strict on her grading. if you miss class without telling her, she will drop you. she's also very rude to her students, and she thinks she's always right. be ready to have at least 3 hw assignments every week. by the end of the semester we only had 7 people in the class. that says a lot.

Sucks. that's all I can say do not take this teacher she thinks she is right and is very rude to her students

Withers was probably the most stress-inducing professor I have ever had. I dreaded going to her class and would spend a lot of nights crying under stress. She always has snarky comments to say, and is more than willing to embarrass you in front of the class. If there's one piece of advice I could give anyone in college, it is not to take her class.

By far the worst professor I've ever had. Whenever I needed assistance with assignments, she would always tell me to find help at "tutorials". On many occasions, she would stop instruction for entire classes to assert the importance of her political views. Every time you step foot in Withers class, you'll feel like you're in the gulag.

Do not take this Professor you will regret it! she will not help you. Instead she will direct you to go get help from the tutorial Center. If you enjoy English she will ruin it for you. She is by far the worst Professor I have ever had!

Shes a tough grader. Shes also very politically driven. She likes to try and push her political views onto you, if you dont agree youre in for some hell. Shes rude and always has something snarky to say. Shes likes to say she always encourages questions but makes you feel stupid when you ask. I would not recommend this professor to anyone!

She rather send you to tutorial than help you. Gets mad and yells at class because she is having a bad day. Claims she cares about you and is understanding but she says she doesn't care when you tell her your family emergency situation. One of the professors that shouldn't be teaching. Extremely rude and disrespectful.

Run! Just don't take her. She's highly critical of wanting things done her way. Claims all professors are like that. Political and she constantly contradicts herself. Unclear on what she wants. Extremely rude and makes degrading remarks to students. Sends students to tutorial and Lindsay Davis, who is as unhelpful as she is.

Hardest prof I've ever have to dealt with. I was very UNFORTUNATE, register for someone else and got put in here because the other prof dropped. She is completely neurotic about her unclear instructions. Will cut off students in zoom. Doesn't answer questions, or if she does gets upset that she has to 'repeat' herself. Unhelpful

Do not waste your time with this person. You cannot and will not learn from someone who isn't willing to teach. She always yells at her students and gets upset when questions are asked. Multiple 1 page writing assignments. Then 2 large research papers. She's extremely obsessive and particular how she wants things done. Also intimidates students.

Less than 10 people left in the class and semester is not even half way done. Says a lot about the professor. It's not that she's a 'tough grader' it's that she's completely delusional and craze about how things should be done her particular way. Don't waste your time

The worst professor I have ever took. This person should not be teaching College students. Not only is she incredibly rude and disrespectful but she's also completely delusional. Yes she sets out very specific instructions on her expectations and grading but even after following exactly as she wants it's still a not good enough for her. Good luck

Political, disrespectful, rude, a negative person who claims she's there to "help" but only directs you elsewhere. Agitated very easily, yells at students who clarifies the assigns., stating that she's tired of "repeating herself." Hypercritical-after doing exactly what she wants she finds 100 more mistakes for you to fix. DO NOT TAKE HER.

She is extremely difficult with grading and so picky with her instructions. Her zoom meetings are useless and teaches nothing. She doesn't use canvas and everything is through email which could be a little frustrating. I never had a problem with any of my English classes ever until I entered her class. Avoid this professor!

She has stolen my joy for writing. She is the toughest grader I have ever had. She will nitpick the smallest errors in your writing and question your topics and subjects if she isn't pleased by them. Don't bother applying previous writing knowledge, she has her own made up guideline and criteria you MUST follow. This class won't help you improve.

Very rude and isn't flexible. Even if you have technical issues she will not help. Too lazy to use canvas and wants you to email the assignments to her. Sent an email in the beggining and was super rude in it.

She doesn't want to help, her instructions are very vague and unclear. Whenever I ask for more explanation she simply tells me to look at the instructions. She also sends me to the tutoring, in which she put restrictions on what the tutoring can help us with anyway.

Super rude, can't ask questions because she gets upset. Doesn't like to help and always redirects questions elsewhere. She's passionate about what she teaches but cannot transfer the knowledge. I would not recommend taking this course with Mrs. Withers.

First, don't assume that these negative reviews are written by "slacker" or "unmotivated" students because they are 100% correct...Withers is rude in her Zoom meetings and provides ambiguous assignment instructions. When we ask for clarification, she gives a snarky condescending answer and belittles us. Her assignments are entirely LGBT+ oriented

This teacher is by far the WORST teacher I have taken, She wants you to turn in the assignments through email which is heinous. This teacher expects you to know her rules and how she likes her class like she likes her coffee. HOT. This class is why students drop out

Don't expect to be able to check your grades because she doesn't post it on Canvas so you literally will not know where you are at in this class(The Grades tab doesnt even appear on Canvas). Lastly, get ready to ONLY write about women's oppression and/or lgbt+ topics for the WHOLE ENTIRE SEMESTER!!!!!!

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! She has no empathy for humans period! It was more like a women's studies course! She is rude and unfair. If you feel that you've been treated unfair, file a complaint with the OCR ( Office of Civil Rights). No student should have to endure this professor in order to get an education.

Professor Withers is unclear in her requirements, voices strong political opinions and expects you to agree with them, and is arbitrary with her grading.

She is so strict with her grading, and she is rude and makes it difficult to ask for help. Her class is very opinion driven.

I took her class few semesters ago but this class it was extremely stressful and difficult, she would tell me to drop her class because I was not going to pass and that there was a lower level class for me,I end up passing the class with a B but I failed 2 other classes because of the stress of her class and assignments.

There is zero structure in the class. Did you learn how to use canvas? Throw all of that out of the window because they only accept assignments through email. They also only give grades through email and the grading is inconsistent at best.

Does not utilize Canvas for grading and homework submission. Disorganized Canvas instructions. She is all over the place in Canvas, so prepare to play scavenger hunt.

Could not believe how unprofessional she was over a ZOOM meeting. Threw away my thesis after THREE words. Questioned my education and knowledge with english. She couldn't believe how i got so far in her class lol. Redirects you to tutors that basically teach her course, and heads up the whole class was based on women oppression.

Avoid Professor Withers. She is rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. She yells at students for not asking for help, but when approached, she refers us back to Canvas, claiming we haven't read it. She also undermines the tutoring center, creating a stressful learning environment. Choose another professor.

The assignments aren't overly difficult or time consuming, however, her personality is impossible to navigate. She's always looking to demean her students when we ask simple questions. Any comment or concern she receives is met with an unnecessarily rude response. If you're looking for a reasonably helpful professor, pick someone else.

This professor was very rude. She will not help you when you are confused or have questions. She does not respect others perspectives if they do not agree with hers. Although only two assignments are assigned a week. She talks a lot about politics for being a English class.

All i have to say is don't even waste your time. I dropped out not even half way the semester. So so so rude towards everyone and will talk back to you or will just drop you herself.

Do you like asking your professor for help? Do you like to have a different perspective other than the professor? Don't like being talked back to? Then DON'T enroll in ANY classes by Meg Withers. She will NOT help you/answer ANY questions regarding your assignments, she will claim its not part of her job and tells you look at canvas. You wont learn

Worst professor I have ever had why is she not retired yet is my question. I have never once been this stressed over a ENGLISH class and not only that I have never once cried over a class either. This teacher has humiliated multiple times. She gets mad at me for asking questions but also gets mad when I don't

She withholds grades. She refuses to help me and I have never cried so much over a class but since I have Anxiety and depression this lady makes it worse for your own well being choose a different teacher she likes students feeling uncomfortable says to makes her happy and grades very unfairly if you want a good experience choose a different prof.

Don't take her. I went through the whole semester, did every assignment with a B or higher, all for it to not matter by the time the final 5-6 page essay rolled around. You can't see your grade the whole semester which is a massive worry, and she will humiliate you. I've witnessed many of my peers drop out because of that alone.

Just going to say, save yourself a headache and don't take this class. She's very passive aggressive and is often egotistical. Another important thing is you can't even see your grade, so you'll never know what you have until the end of the semester. Good luck to those who end up taking her class.
