Professor Carroll was upfront at our first class. Your grade is based on her test and quizzes. She lectures from power points so I suggest you print them out and follow along and study. There was a quiz or exam every week. We did not really use our books, just the power points. I would definitely take her again.

She's a good teacher and wonderful person. She is very confusing of her expectations on test and quizzes. It's pretty much memorize every detail of the slides, and even some parts that weren't covered in slides. she isn't bad but not easy. I liked her lectures. I just wish she was more precise.

Ms. Carroll is a great professor! I ended up having to withdraw because I started studying too late. Her tests aren't hard just study all the power points and whats on the study guide. A tip for her quizzes(they're matching)- go through the slides and write down every word that has a definition. study that and you should do fine on them.

She was a great teacher. I took her over summer. The material is very hard and you won't pass if you're not willing to study every night for a few hours. We had a quiz everyday including one on test day. I would take her again. I like having a teacher that is really passionate for what they teach.

She is an AMAZING teacher. Print and study the powerpoints. Didnt even use book Gives quizzes that may help. Tests can be tricky, but taken right off the powerpoint. Very interesting lectures but you have to attend class to pass, you can record the class with a recorder. Be prepared to work for an ''A''. She is very easy on the eyes; H-O-T-lol!!!

Professor Carroll is a caring woman. She's also knowledgeable. I took her over the summer. But she is NOT teaching an easy subject. You need to study, read every night, and complete any AND every extra credit opportunity she gives you. I've never been more proud of a B in my life. I would take her again if I needed another Micro class. For sure.

I took Professor Carroll (BIO1) during the summer 2 semester and almost switched to an Engineering major because of her monotonous, boring power-point lectures. The only time you should even bother coming to class is during a test/quiz. Her explanations do not pass the depth of the power-point, and she didn't show any excitement towards Biology.

She is really caring. Almost too caring. She works a little too hard catering to students who want to show no effort. It makes her irritable, and that can be annoying. Other than that she is a great teacher. Her online quizzes have multiple attempts. Study the power points and do the simple extra credit for the tests, and you will do fine.

Professor Carroll is super likable and extremely nice! Biology Lecture can be a tough class, but if you go to class and study, but are still having trouble, she'll definitely help you as much as she can. She's a great professor, just make sure you don't miss lecture.

Make sure you follow along with the Power Points!! Mainly all the Test and Quiz questions are based from the Power Point material,they are posted on BlackBoard for you to print and bring to class. She originally had Pop quizzes but there now posted to Blackboard with 3 attempts. She's a great professor, and easy on the eyes .

I loved Professor Carroll as a professor! She was very helpful, loved to be there for her students, and encouraged you to see her in her office for help on anything. Her tests were clear and you did have to study the study guides, but as long as you study you'll do fine. Her quizzes also helped your grade, which I liked.

Mrs. Carroll is a great professor! She's clear in what she's teaching, and is the most helpful/personable professor I've ever had. She requests that every one of her students stop by her office often and visit, ask questions, let her know how you're doing. She cares. Thankful for her!

Mrs. Carrol is amazing--I wish she taught Anatomy as well. She loves when you ask questions, she will not move on until she knows you understand the material. She gives daily quizzes that help you study daily so the test is easy. Definitely study and pay attention. She is well organized and super friendly!

Professor Carroll is the best teacher at IRSC ! I had her for Bio 1, and learned so much from her! She loves when you ask questions and will help you with anything you bring to the table. She gives study guides for each of the tests that helped so much!! I wish she taught all my classes !!!

Professor Carroll is great. She is sweet and tries to make lectures more interesting, and will work with you on any concerns you may have. Gives some extra credit which can be completed easily. Quizzes for every chapter, but are done at home and 3 attempts allowed. Tests aren't bad at all if you study her study guide. More than possible to get an A

I had Carrol this spring for both Lab&lecture microbiology and I got A+ in both classes. You do not need the book, everything is on the power points and notes on blackboard. She even has a study guide for her lecture class for all the chapters you will learn throughout the semester. It makes studying easy cause its all simplified! you can do it!

I learned most of this class by studying independently, rather than listening to her lecture. Nothing wrong with her, I just could not learn while there was interruption from other students. However, as long as you study the study guide, you will get an A. She is really helpful and is open to help if you need it.

Really nice lady!! Loves to teach and will go out of her way to make you understand a topic. I enjoyed her lectures and learned a lot in her class. She gives quizzes almost after every class and gives you plenty of time and chances to take it and get a 100. Her class is very easy. Gives full study guide and notes on blackboard. would take again

Megan Carroll is a wonderful teacher. She is passionate and kind. The exams are difficult but if you study (like you are supposed to do in college) you will pass. This is coming from an average student who got an A. Let's you copy your old exams for the final. Microbiology is not an easy subject to teach enthusiastically. I would take her again.

One of the best professors I've taken! She makes microbiology interesting and easy to understand. If you do her study guide, you will pass all of your exams because they are straight forward. She drops the lowest exam grade and accumulates all quizzes to account for a test. Easy to pass if you put in the effort and study. Don't need the textbook!

I really liked her . She does run through the PowerPoint rather quickly so either have it up on your computer or write or print it out before hand so you can focus on what else she says. She does expand from the PowerPoint info. All tests are curved and the lowest grade is dropped. Lots of opportunities for extra credit. Do not need text book.

Overall she is a great professor she knows her stuff, yeah her exams are tough and the first lab study guide in micro might not have been that helpful but it has gotten better and she does care about all her students. I have learned so much this semester. Professor Caroll is Very approchable and always willing to help her students.

Bio 1 was not what I expected. it was a lot more challenging. there is a lot of micro-molecules to remember. Thankfully she was very knowledgeable about the subject, and friendly during her office hours. I finished with an A. She gave extra credit based on what the DNA staircase at Pruitt campus coded to say. (took her class a few semesters ago)

I took professor carroll for MCB lecture and Lab. Get the book for lecture, she says you dont need it but if something is unclear you can refer to it. She grades fairly, lectures and labs are FUN if you participate. Easy to get in touch with. Helps in any way she can. Very caring and wants to see her students succeed. Wish she taught other courses

Kind and considerate. Willing to answer any questions. Tries to make lectures as interesting as she can. Notes were allowed on some tests. The only issue I have is that some of the test question are not on the PowerPoint and according to students who bought the textbook they are not in the book either. Overall, good experience, she's fun.

I have taken Professor Carroll twice for general bio and micro. I can truly honestly say she's the BEST. She's so helpful, knowledgeable, and caring. You can tell she loves what she does. HIGLY RECOMMENDED!

Very detail oriented. Purchase the book if you take her for lecture, exam questions are generally more detailed than the notes she provides. Study more than just her study guide, even in lab. If you take her for lab pay close attention to experiments, take notes and study regularly. Wonderful professor but not for everybody. echo360 is helpful.

I took Professor Carroll for BSC2010, MCB2010 and MCB2010L. I received an A in all three courses. Let me start by saying her classes are not easy, but she does care tremendously about her students and will do her best to help you out. If you study and have a good understanding of the topics she discusses, then you will be fine. Take detailed notes.

Her tests are the most difficult part about her class. They are very detailed, much more detailed than the notes and the power point. To get a good grade on a test it requires a lot of effort into understanding the full concept, studying, and reading in the book. She lectures really well, if you study hard and show up to class you will pass.

She cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She gives every opportunity to pass the class and will take time to make sure you understand. Responds quickly to emails. Great professor all around!

Prof Carroll is great. Compromised with us after the hurricane shut down the college for nearly two weeks. Made the class do-able. Only reason you would do poorly is if you didn't put the effort in. Makes micro lab and lecture really fun. She likes to get to know her students and shes always available. Always responds to emails. She must work out.

GREAT prof! Really wants you to pass and does SO MUCH to ensure so. Good teaching & answers all questions kindly. Lets you review old tests & final is made up of old exams. Had her for spring w/ 4 other classes & wasnt too hard. Just study for tests & print notes before class as she's quick; but take note of whats said in class & board drawings.

Class was mainly going over power points, but she would give examples on the board (which is important to copy down for test purposes). As long as you came to class, go over power points and the chapter questions she assigns, you will do fairly well on her tests. Her tests are HARD she wants you to use what you have learned and think critically

Megan Carroll was a great teacher for biology who was easy to connect to as a student and engaging as a teacher. her tests were fair and was always willing to go over them with you during her office hours.

After failing this class once, Megan Carroll was exactly what I needed to help me understand the material. She invites you to office hours to go over anything misunderstood on tests. Tests are fair, providing you study. Lectures are recorded and posted online which is helpful if you miss class. She is very helpful and genuinely cares about students

Pretty great teacher! Really enjoys teaching! Does her best to help you through the class. Lectures are very fun and interesting and she applies it to real life outside the classroom.

I don't know why other reviews are saying poor things about this professor. I loved her lecture, she made bio easy to understand and fun to learn about. She answered any questions you could have & made sure that everyone understood each lecture. Exams were based off of the worksheets done for HW and online quizzes. I am retaking her for MCB2010!!!

I can't BELIEVE she made me love micro! She made the subject so digestible! You just have to put in the work. Pay attention in class & understand WHAT she's saying. Watch the lectures on echo and type in extra notes (of what she says) on the ppts. Read parts of the book for clarity. You have to review a couple of times but her tests are so fair.

Just want to give some tips to future students. The reviews scared me at first but I think she is very fair. I enjoyed her class, just make sure you understand her lectures IN class and then review ppts. The final was made up of questions similar to old exams so visit her office & look them over to ensure your success. #Microorganisms are cool!

Professor Carroll was very caring and wants you to pass her class. She takes the time to explain everything from the powerpoints so you understand the material. She will answer any questions you have to make sure you understand. Very helpful. Gives homework and quizzes on each chapter and then tests you on material. Class was very manageable.

Professor Carroll is a very caring, helpful, and dedicated professor. I was nervous about taking Microbiology, but she was very information & made the course intriguing. Her powerpoints are what is on the test. Know everything. I took her for lab as well and she is the same way as lecture. Very helpful professor.

Really good professor! I dont regret taking her at all. I did have difficulty this semester, and Prof. Carroll was really there to help. She went out of the way to make phone call to catch up and work through the problems. She is a lovely person. Divinity makes lecture manageable to pass, but lab requires a more more work, but defiantly doable.

Professor Carroll is absolutely delightful. There is no doubt that Microbiology is a challenging class, but with hard work, there is no doubt that she will do everything in her power to help you. She even has sessions before and after a test to ensure that the material is well understood. Her feedback on homework was always helpful and fair.

LOVED taking her class !! She has deadlines but you take 3 quizzes, 1 discussion, 1 test due every 3 weeks, but quizzes are short. Easy to find questions and very understanding grader! Would recommend taking her class

I took her class online. LOVED taking her class! I am not very good at anything school related haha. You typically do one lab on labster and take a 10 question quiz once a week, which if you work is very manageable. Only two 3-5 minute video discussions. She does want you to turn everything in on time no excuse. She is quick to respond to emails.

Best class I've taken here at IRSC. I am so grateful for Prof Carroll as an instructor, she's the nicest and most helpful. Tips: Make sure you do your study guides for lab, attend each lecture, and ask her any questions you have about the material! Lab will be funnest, but be prepared to stay the entire time. You will learn a lot in this class!

Professor Carroll was awesome! Lecture has 4 exams and a cumulative final, as well as Unit quizzes that are super easy. Lecture is by far easier than lab, pay attention to the lab study guides!!!! Super sweet professor, very caring and always wants to help. One of the best classes Ive had at IRSC.

This is a difficult class, but she cares about students and wants them to succeed. I had some trouble with the nursing program and she immediately stepped in and contacted everyone she could for me. She explains things well, but there's so much new hard information. Study guides are LONG but completing them is +5 on tests, and helpful.
