I wish I could take her class over and over. She's extremely helpful and easy to understand, allows the students to take open-notes exams and offers bonus point opportunities. Her jokes are never funny though.
I love this class! the way she teaches is very helpful, she explains things over and over so you get it. the tests can be a little hard but the notes sure help. if you do your homework you will pass the class. love the jokes!
I've takin this course (not with her) 2X prior to this and have never been able to understand it as much as I do now. Her way of teaching is great. Looking forward to taking the next course with her.
Megan made Math40 as enjoyable as it could be. Although, the material was more difficult than I expected it to be. Megan has a great personality and I would definitly take another class with this Instructor.

I passed this class thanks to her unique way of teaching. She is incredibly helpful and laid back, which takes all the anxiety out of taking a math exam. She's da bomb! I love math now!!!
She looks more like a voleyball coach than a math teacher. She's young so she's very understanding and helpful. She really breaks it down. The best math teacher you'll ever find.
Teacher is pretty cool. Lets you have a 1 page written cheat sheet for every test. I am not sure about for the final though. She responds quickly via e mail. I took evening class we got out early every time. I would take her for any math class.
BEST Teacher I had...Influence me to become a math teacher...:)
This teacher is easy and makes math fun. She has been the best math teacher i have ever had.
Although the class was to easy as it was. This yeacher was ver helpful and tried her best to get everyone to understand everything. Very easy going, doesnt expect to much from you and has ALOT of patience. HIGLY RECOMMMNED! Best math teacher I certainly EVER had!
she's just a good teacher period. real easy to understand. makes the notes for you all you have to do is print them out. doesn't use a lot of big math words to confuse you jus says it as it is.
she was to quick in teaching and had a major attitude problem
horrible! dont take her
very good teacher
excellent teacher!!
Excellent teacher. If you don't get it in this class you never will. Pay attention, show up to class (what a concept!) and you will learn.
This teacher is really great when comes to teaching. She provides you with notes for homework and also takes the time to ask her if you have any question.I would really reccomend her because shes great..Very FuNNy!
Easy course! Show up, pay attention to her lectures,do your homework (which is simple) ask questions, study, you'll do fine. I AM SO not a math person but thru-out the course I was able to maintain one of the highest scores in the class.I previously got a D in this class, took it over and received a B (89%).was a upset she didn't give the the 1point
SHE IS A VERY FUN TEACHER TO HAVE. HER TEACHING IS THOUROUGH. SHE PROVIDES THE NOTES AND ALL YOU DO IS FILL IN, WHICH IS SO MUCH EASIER TO PAY ATTENTION AND COMPREHEND WHAT YOU ARE WRITING AND WHAT MEGAN IS EXPLAINIG. SHE ROCKS!! THE + IS, SHE'S A LAKERS FAN!!!
SHE ROCKS!!!
Clear and hard to not understand..but BEWARE!!! Lots and Lots and Lots of Homework (Even for a Math Class). Lectures you on how to and how not to approah the class. Trys to come off as cool but can be a little prude at times.
Effective insructor that breaks down an intermediate course in a way that is easy to understand. Expectations are very clear upon entering the course. You REALLY have to do the homework though, or you will be lost. May be standoffish initially, but this melts away after the first session or two. Oh yes, and she is hot as well ;)
Best Math teachers I have had. All of her lectures are from her notes and not read right right out of the Book. Copies of all of her lectures are given to you at first day of class. She also has interesting stories and a great sense of humor. I wish she was teaching all my math classes.
RECOMMEND this class. It was very helpful and I was able to understand the math. Takes her time to supply you with her notes and takes time to go over homework. Makes the class fun! Did I mention You can actually understand the math the way she explains the problems throughly. She ROCKS!
Great professor, one of the best math professor's I ever had. Yes.... there is alot of homework but hey this is math, you need to have alot of homework to practice it. No.....she is not prude, the person who wrote that is a hater. Yes.....she is hot.
She's awesome! Clear teaching style, clear instructions on hw/quizzes/tests. I wish she were teaching the next math class I need to take!
Awesome teacher!! Totally recommend her! Clear, patient, funny. Tries her best to answer all student questions. Really great teaching style.!!
Great instructor, very up front with all course criteria, makes math enjoyable for those not interested in all other then basic mathematics. A+++
I absolutely love this class. She's very patient, her teaching strategies are great because she provides the notes for you, all you have to do is follow along during the lecture. Shes funny and shes honest about how she feels about the subject that she is teaching.
TAKE HER.she gives a lot of points and opportunities to give you an awesome grade. she explains with out all those confusing math terms that lose you. has you print out a lot of papers for the lecture which makes you sad about losing ink but in the end, you'll be happy she had you print those notes. she allows you to have cheat sheets for exams.
She's one of the coolest professors at el camino. Take her class you wont regret it. Class is fun and never boring.
She is so helpful and one of the coolest professors in El Camino. Class is always filled with fun and excitement. I would take her class again.
One superb professor. She is funny, patient, helpful, calm, and really clear! I didn't feel like I was taking math because she made it so simple. She already has the notes for you all you have to do is print them out. She gives you a point on exams if you turn in a funny joke, how cool is that? She gives all the solutions to her tests/homework/quiz
She is the best math teacher I have ever had! If you work hard you will easily succeed. She gives you the notes for the whole semester which keep clarity, and she sticks to the schedule! She is very understanding but does not take excuses, so don't be a baby! Go to every class, they move quickly and you do not want to fall behind!Highly recommend!
she is very good professor.
She is a very good professor. She always wants to help. She explains the math problems very well.
Loved the lectures notes she made for the whole class.
Just show up to class write some noes and do the HW assignment and you should get a B in her class, just love her. best math teacher I have ever had.
This class is pretty easy, just make sure you show up to class and do the homework! She is a chill teacher and is very helpful.
Great teacher. Gives homework weekly but you are able to pass with atleast doing 50% of it.
After High School I thought my math nightmare was over, but upon taking this class not only did I start liking math but I learned more than.what I had learned in HS. The notes she gives are very helpful as well as the lectures being very clear to understand. Do the HW , follow her methods and everything will go smoothly. I highly recommend!
Really good at explaining and making concepts clear. She doesn't teach from the book if there is a better and easier way to understand the material. She's a very practical teacher .
She is so fine, shoot, I just go into that classroom to check out that fine lady all day. Shes so nice and helpful too, she made trigonometry a class I can understand. 2:15 represent all day!!!
she's a chill teacher she makes you want to class she's funny and she gives you chances to get evtra poins on your test TAKE HER CLASS
Loved this professor, she is extremely clear and passionate about math, she will explain things in a way even a 2 year old could understand...I'm in Math 67 and I miss the teaching skills Megan has
Professor Grinach is a very smart woman she knows exactly what she is teachinng. She always comes prepared and ready to teach. She provides student with notes she'll be going over makes examples VERY CLEAR. You need a book as well to complete the homework. She gives reviews for exam, quizzes & final & drops to low scores. TAKE HER!!!!!
TAKE HER! best math teacher!!She is so nice and chill! she lets you use cheat sheets on the tests and the homework you would do it right out of the book which is cool. Be there early because she gives pop quizzes at the beginning of the class.
She is very clear on the lesson. Keeps her students interested on the subject all the time. Tests and quizzes are always reviewed, so it's easy to pass the class as long as you pay attention and attend the class.
Amazing professor! Best math teacher I've ever had in my life! Clear & helpful. Go to class, do the hw. Cheat sheets allowed for tests
A very good math teacher, in fact the best math teacher I've ever had. She engages with the students and makes the learning a lot less cumbersome. Go to class, do the homework, and you'll do fine, kid.
Super funny man. I love her. I wish we taught Math 40. Just follow her rules. I kept an A the whole semester.
Awesome teacher. Pre-made study guides and allows cheat sheets for the tests/final! what more could you ask for? Highly recommended
Megan is a wonderful teacher! All her class notes make each chapter seem easy(:.
Megan is TRULLY a SPECTACULAR teacher at El Camino. If you go to class, do your homework and try... Then you are good to go. She makes the class interesting and is eager to help you understand what you don't. Has made me like math.TAKE HER! you have to be an dumb to fail or not have an A in this class. TAKE HER! Take her!!
Megan is AMAZING! The best math teacher I ever had. Math is my least favorite subject. But Megan made this such a fear free place. Her pre written chapter notes are great. They let you focus on what you are learning. DEFINITELY sign up for her class. You won't regret it!
Megan is AMAZING! The best math teacher I ever had. Math is my least favorite subject. But Megan made this such a fear free place. Her pre-written chapter notes are great. They let you focus on what you are learning. DEFINITELY sign up for her class. You won't regret it!
Megan is AMAZING! Math is my least favorite subject. But Megan made this such a fear free place. Her pre-written chapter notes are great. They let you focus on what you are learning. If you have the opportunity, sign up for her class.
Had to retake math23 because of a previous professor, but taking Math with Megan was amazing! Made it very clear and easy. Group work and homework were required but overall very helpful.
Love Love Love her teaching style. On the exams you get use other materials to help you remember formulas and certain steps. If your late more than 20 mins she doesn't accept your H.W. but that's a good thing it just makes you want to get to class on time. Overall awesome teacher and I recommend you taking her.
Great class!! great energy!!! i loved the class and everything was so understanding.
Megan is great! She is consistent, organized, and helpful. She gives you all of the notes and then lectures. I personally think it's a great teaching style. Do expect a lot of homework, but considering you can check your answers from the text and you have notes for reference, the homework is pretty easy. My recommendation: Don't miss class!
Ms. Granich is really cool, she is very engergized and there is rarely a dull moment in her calss. Text books are needed! She has a great personailty and makes you want to show up to class. Allows cheat sheets for every test and even the final. Since i know shes going to read this, congrats on your chili megan ;)
Megan is an awesome teacher! I found the group work to be very very helpful since I'm not as good as I'd like to be in Math. The lectures are clear and she provides many opportunities to earn a decent grade in her class. Oh and she's definitely fine : ) I can't say that about many professors at ECC.
Megan is such a cool person In general. She knows what she is teaching and is very clear on what she wants. In this class a graphic calculated is very handy. She actually makes math fun.
Best math professor ever. She actually knows the material so well that she is able to break down math into understandable language. All you need is a little bit of dedication and you will ace this class.
Megan is seriously amazing! Absolutely hate math but she made the class great. She is very clear about her expectations as well as the material being covered which is really helpful. Do the homework and practice the problems she gives you and you'll be fine!
I have always struggled with math but Megan has found a way to help me understand it. I wish I could take her for all other math courses, she's that good. Exams and final make up about 80 percent of grade so make sure to study
Her teaching style is straight forward but you better be prepared to do some work, you will get a fail if you slack. I would take her again. Oh, and if you do take her twice for a higher math level make sure you study all your previous courses first because she is fast but most importantly she is detailed.
I won't say this class is easy, but if you try you'll be fine. Do the homework and take advantage of the cheat sheets she lets you use during tests. You have to attend class otherwise you may get lost. Megan tries her best to explain in an easy way difficult topics. You have to do group work in class so make sure to sit next to hard working people.
Meghan is an excellent teacher and gives the student lots of opportunities to succeed. She outlines pretty much the whole book and is always willing to help her students. I've attempted this class with other teachers and haven't been able to grasp what was being said. With the homework and the group work it made it a lot easier to learn.
So much to say in 350 words. She expects much from you, but if you show up to class everyday, take notes along with her, treat your notebook like your baby, fill out those cheat sheets, and put in THE WORK you will PASS! WORK HARD and you're given a sense of accomplishment worthy to show off to friends, family or your cat, if you have no one else.
Teaches out of a packet she made herself. Lots of homework but if you do it, no surprises on the test. Gives good review before tests and quizzes. Group work almost everyday, easy points really. Her lecture are clear and helpful. She's very nice so definitely ask her a lot of questions.
She thinks everyone took math 40 before placing to 73. She goes really fast, skips steps&will only set up the equation and give the answer expecting you to solve on your own. She gives alot of groupwork and if you miss class it would definitely hurt your grade. Homework is not mandatory but necessary to pass the class.
Great professor. Loved her. She was a great teacher and she's hilarious. She has all her notes, answer keys and practice tests available on Team sites. Can't wait to take her for Math 73.
She has really great sense of humor. I hate Math but I liked her class. I hated the group work though, ugh! But you have to participate in it or the points will add up and lower your grade. She's really good looking too. I think I have a crush on her, lol.
She is mean if you ask a question
Bad attitude
Professor Granich is an awesome professor. She is an easy grader especially when it comes to homework. Plus she lets you use a full paper as a cheat sheet during tests which help a ton! I wish I can have her for my other math classes. Highly Recommend!
Love Megan's humor as well as her straight to the point lectures.
So Megan is SERIOUSLY the best Math professor out there. from what she expect from you and any other question you might have is planned out 100% and on the syllabus! Always on time and never late. One tip though: You HAVE to do the homework. It's not graded but the exam and quiz # are straight from there. Seriously, do the work, and you'll pass.
Never a boring moment in any of her lectures. All the chapters were explained in the most easiest way. If you want to pass the class DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!! so you will need the book. Since she mostly uses similar problems from the homework for her Quizzes and Exams. In all it was a great class and I actually learned something. Group work was great.
great professor! if math isn't your forte, take her! she explains everything in an unbelievably easy way! the only reason why anyone would fail this class is if they miss class as she moves on very quickly. go to class, participate on the group work, review quizzes and homework before exams and you will pass with flying colors! she's HILARIOUS!!!!
This class wasn't easy but what math is tho. But ms. Granich is an amazing teacher. . She actually teachers you and HELPS YOU PASS, she also tell Lil jokes here and their to make class fun.. math ain't easy for me but I passed just study, study, and then study again lol. If u do that nd come to every class session you will pass. No doubt.
You won't regret taking Megan, she has a great way of teaching math. She might seem intimidating at first but she is supper chill and really friendly. Her lectures are great, she teaches step by step, not like other professors that expect you to teach yourself. Majority of the class passed, 2630 We need more professors like Megan at every college.
I took Megan G. for Spring 2015 after checking out the reviews on this very site. Which were quiet helpful, so I decided to post one myself after having recently finished taking her Math120 course. She covers everything in class that is required throughout the semester. Pay attention & do what is expected and you should get an A in class. ^_^
Excellent no BS professor. Provided all notes which made life much simpler while attending class. Followed step by step in the notes during the class. Cannot fail if you show up. If you do not show up for class you will fail. Very simple. Make up opportunities are not available. If you miss class you will miss group work which are vital.
Great teacher! She gives you all the notes online, all you do is print them out and bring to class. Very easy going and no BS. She has a great sense of humor and is very clear on what she expects from her students. If you have the chance, please take her! You won't regret it! ^_^
She's great! I took her math 120 class for the spring and if you listen print out the online notes provided by her and follow with the hw problems then you'll do great! Her lectures are great she explains everything and shows you the short cut to long problems and has great sense of humor which makes lectures interesting :)
Granich is a wonderful professor. She is very clear about her grading from day 1 She also does has these hand written packets that we print out&use all semester as our notes&4for math. Trust me, that turns out to2b the best idea ever! She writes all the important things to focus on&write down her examples! Wish I took her4 every math class!! A+!!
Megan's lectures and lessons are very clear and precise. She does NOT throw any curve-balls whatsoever. Make sure you study for the test and DO THE HOMEWORK even though she doesn't collect or check them (trust me, you'll thank yourself in the long run).
Do yourself a favor and TAKE HER! She provides you with so many learning resources and is there to help you out! I can tell she loves what she does and would do everything possible to help you stay on track.
Do the HW! I didn't and got a C, so don't try to get around it. Lots of group-work so find the smart people quick. Easy print out notes just follow along and you'll do good. Study for the tests, do the Extra Credit, show up for class, and just do what she says! She's super funny and will always help don't be afraid to ask her though.
Granich is really funny and makes the class more enjoyable. If you need help or unclear about something, she'll be happy to help you. If you like teachers who are more of a "non-serious and having fun" type, then this is the teacher for you. But if you like more of a mature, and serious type, this won't be your kind of teacher.
SHE IS AMAZING i like math but have trouble leaning it but she makes leaning it very easy! Her class isnt easy because she is a bad teacher its easy because she makes the learning easy!!!!
Megan ROCKED! Very straight forward, highly recommend her Nature of Mathematics course, it's very useful and I previously did NOT like math. She is hilarious and very easy to pay attention to- have a sense of humor guys! At first I was terrified of the group work, but then I found it to be a great way of keeping on top of it. Thanks Megan!
Usually hate math, and I dreaded taking this class, but she breaks stuff down and really makes it applicable to the real world, not just find X bc someone needs to know when two trains are going to hit each other. Surprisingly, I actually looked forward to coming to class. Can't recommend enough, you need to take this professor for math.
Professor Granich is an mazing teacher who I would definitely want to take again. She is so hilarious, and her lectures are very clear and easy to understand. All you need to do to pass this class is doing your homework and not missing classes. Great professor!
Math isn't exactly my greatest strength but I think Prof. Granich is as good as it's gonna get for Calc. She's VERY helpful and funny. Tests are pretty hard so you have to make sure to study and do all your hw (quizzes are based on HW.) Groupwork is important so don't skip a bunch of days like I did, lol. Would definitely take her again
5 unit class, and it was No Joke! Im not strong in math, so it was a struggle for me the whole time-felt like a part time job. BUT I was lucky to get Megan as an instructor. She's organized, uses class time productively, makes grading clear, and expects u to work. Shes funny, straight fwd, entertaining, and generally some1 u want to b around. Rare Gem
Business Calc is a tough class but Megan makes it way easier. Get ready to work hard! Do ALL of your homework and understand ALL of it. Tests are easy if you study .She makes calc 20x's less scary. Show up to class and get ready to focus. Shes very open to questions. Time flies in her class.
She is a very good professor. She makes you print out all her lecture notes and just bring those to class and you will do good. Every class you have to do group work. Later in the semester when it comes to test she will give you a paper with conversion guides with formulas on it so you will not have to memorize them. And always bring a calculator!
Math isn't exactly my greatest strength Prof. Granich is as good as it gets. She's VERY clear and very humorous. Make sure you do the homework and actually participate in group work. I'm retaking the same course with her again because she's that great. "Cultivate your garden to how you want it to grow," want an A, work for it. - a Mormon
I took professor's Granich trig class a while back, she was crystal-clear on her explanations and very helpful. She really helped me understand trig which prepared me well for the higher level math classes as I am now taking math 270 . She makes class interesting and fun!!
she is really funny and she is a great teacher, although she collects the homework randomly, it is mandatory for you to do it or else you will not pass the class. her tests can be a bit challenging so you must study beforehand and she allows cheat sheets for all of the tests, including the final
Best math professor I've had so far at el co. She's on the students side and wants you to do well, she's hilarious and explains things in a way that everyone can understand. Allows cheat sheets for every test including final. Randomly collects hw but her assignments aren't bad and are very helpful for the hw quizes. Would 100% recommend.
Professor Granich is one of the best math teachers that I have ever had so far at el co! She has made teaching math really fun and simple plus you don't even have to take notes in that class since you need to have it printed out. She is not a tough teacher what-so-ever and would never put you on the spot if you had a question. Best math class ever.
Professor Granich is the best math teacher I've had. She gives you all the notes at the beginning of semester you just have to print them. There is a lot of group work so attendance is important and if there's something you don't get your classmates can help you. She's straight forward and makes math understandable. I enjoyed being in her class!:)
Professor Granich is an awesome math teacher she lets you use a cheat sheet for every exam, she gives you all the notes all you have to do is print them out, at the end of semester she drops the lowest grade you got in a quiz, exam, homework, and groupwork. She explains everything really well, but if you still need help just ask and she will help
She's a great professor! You MUST be willing to work hard for your grade. Do ALL of the homework and you'll have NO problem with Quizzes or Exams. No class participation expected, minimal group work, lots of HW.
Professor Granich is very straight-forward. She explains the chapters very well, her notes are very clear, for exams she lets us have a cheat sheet which is helpful. Overall great teacher i would recommend her and i would take another math class with her
Megan is an amazing professor. I honestly hate math so much but she makes math SO EASY! Now I'm not afraid of math like I used to be. She's very funny and makes class enjoyable! Don't slack off and you will get an easy A. That person who rated her poorly doesn't know what they're talking about she's AWESOME.
Clear explanations and has her own notes. There is mandatory group work. she drops lowest quiz, group work, and test Test questions come from hw/notes/lecture She tries her best to make it fair for everyone.
I took Granich because I heard she was the best professor, and she is. That doesn't mean she is easy. Expect to do all of the homework daily even if she doesn't collect it. Go to class every day or you will miss important info/points. She gives you one cheatsheet per exam and drops lowest grade. She is the most involved and helpful teacher!
she's so amazing, but if you don't like group work don't take her. For test you can get an extra point if you bring in a joke . Also you get to use a cheat sheet. Homework isn't graded, but the quizzes are based off of homework. So do the HW it'll make your life easier. but she drops the lowest group work, hw quiz, and test so be thankful!!
She is very very nice, amazing, and the class is straightforward. You wont regret to take this class!!
Granich is so good, I had to take her 3 times. Wish she could teach all of m classes. Expect to do hw even though they are not due. Practice makes perfect! Be ready to work, and laugh your behind off. Granich is out of this world. TAKE HER!
This was one of the toughest classes I ever took. Trying to wrap my head around the concepts was the most difficult part. I just feel there should be some way to opt out if taking all these chapters. The professor is very straight forward, and even if you work your butt off there still you still might fail. I hope I passed finals:-(
She's a great teacher and the class is great too, not boring :) the lectures should be easy to understand and always do your homework cause you'll never know when she'll randomly collect it to give you credit! Also there'll be group work and extra credit by giving her a goke before some kind of test/quiz :) good luck!
Worst math teacher ever. She doesn't help at all always wants your group members to help rather than herself.
The homework was easy and good in lectures but the quiz and exam was the toughest :c
Well I took her in the fall of 2015 well she is a good professor, but heres the thing the class is hard because I was never able to get the subject material down it wasn't that she was a bad prof the class is hard
She is an awesome professor who makes this class easy to understand. In the beginning of the semester, she says what you need to do to pass. Homework is optional, but do it anyways because it really helps and the quizzes are homework problems. If you have any questions about anything, she's always willing to help you work out problems.
I really enjoy this math teacher she explain all the work she want the class to know about. I learn how to do different type of math in Ms. Granich class for example like word problem , I learn it how she does it and now I can do word problem better. Not only word but other different math problem. Ms. Granich Thank for being my math teacher.
Her lecture is clear and focus on the main points of each chapter. The quizzes and exams are easy and nothing is outside of lecture. If you exercise, you will get A.
Prof Granich was up front from the first class on what is expected and what you need to do to pass her class. She expects you have your class notes for the entire semester (that she has prepared for you) so you can follow along (or work ahead/catch up depending on your particular situation). Her grading criteria is More than fair, Def take her!
Professor Granich is very organized, clear on her lectures, and writes all the notes needed for class. She is very clear on what will be on exams. Make sure to do all hw. Every point in this class counts . Group work is a major. I definitely recommend her to anyone taking math 23. Take her class!
Megan is awesome! Go to class, pay attention, and do what she says and you'll get an A! She drops the lowest exam, homework quiz, and groupwork. Every lecture is entertaining and she definitely knows her stuff!:) Nobody likes math but she makes it fun.
I highly recommend Megan Granich. Although Math 165 was a complex class, especially if Algebra skills are not great, Megan had a way of breaking down and explaining concepts so students can better understand. Make sure you attend all lectures, do homework, and study.
She was a great professor. The hw was not mandatory for calculus but i highly recommend you do it tho. The exams are a good percentage of hard and easy for even the worst student can get at least a C in my opinion. She also gave group work but not really anything to worry about. I recommend it 100% to future calc. students
She's a great teacher, if you're going to take her make sure you do at least some of the hw the night before so you can ask questions in the next lecture. She's pretty cool, but firm at the same time and has a way of xpaining the material that is understandable. LOVE the notes that she writes for the class as well.
Megan is a terrific professor and I would recommend her to anyone who takes this calculus class!! She's hilarious and has her own way of teaching the topics, which in my opinion is way easier than understanding the textbook. Do all the homework she assigns because it helps you to do well in her quizzes and exams. You have to work for it, Good Luck!
As with all math classes, doing your homework is key to passing the course. She uses a lot of homework problems in her quizzes (which are basically to check if you did the homework). Even though the homework isn't mandatory you SHOULD do them or your grades will be affected She practically writes your notes for you and gives all hw/gw/exam answers
Nothing good she does not teach the class just gives assignments.
I absolutely hate this teacher, she makes everything seam harder than it really is, wastes a LOT of time, not in a good way, she'll go on and one about some subject and explaining it in bits along the way. You have to do things HER way on the test or no credit, collects homework whenever she feels like, and is honestly not good at teaching at all!
She's awesome and she made me enjoy calc!! But you cannot slack off, you have to do the homework she assigns, those are key in passing the class and are really helpful during quizzes and exams!
Prof. Granich is not an easy prof but also not a hard. She does her own notes based on the chapters and you print them out which is amazing. All you have to do is fill in the examples and notes. She is straight forward on what she wants from you. Be respectful and don't miss class. Do the hw, quizzes are based on that. Also, she makes the class fun
She's a great teacher and very funny. Knows how to teach math in a way you'll understand. Just make sure to do good in the quizzes and exams. I recommended
Math has always been a tough subject for me but professor Granich was very helpful and through. She also gives us many extras that you won't get from other teachers.
Prof. Granich is a great professor. Math is my least favorite subject but she made it less scary for me. Her notes are a huge help as well. Lots of homework but if you do it you'll definitely do well on the tests and quizes and pass the class.
Megan was a great Professor. She would be able to make math fun to learn and give out quick witty jokes and stories. Her notes were a huge help in studying and telling you exactly what's to come for a test. She does assign a ton of how work, but if you do it you will pass the test and quizzes she assigns. But always ask her for a story of her medal
Megan is great, she'll do her best to get you to pass. She'll drop your lowest and make your grade sky rocket. The best !!
Professor Megan has to be one of the best Math teachers. If you have trouble with math please take her class. She is straight forward with her lectures. She shows you easy steps to learn the concept. Her exams are hard but studying and doing homework will help you a lot. Take her class. It is easy and it goes by fast. She lets you use cheat sheets and extra points if you bring joke the day of the exam. You will not regret taking her class.
Could have a midterm but overall she was a good professor
Professor Granich is great teacher. Her lectures were clear and easy to understand. Math is not my best subject but her lectures and notes that she provided were very helpful. Her grading scale is fair and she gives extra credit opportunities, group participation is mandatory . Homework is not mandatory but is essential to learning the material.
Covers material too fast. Isn't very helpful. When asked to review a problem she will only do it if it was covered in the previous class. Anything that was covered before that she refuses to reteach. Umm, that's your job lady!!! If a student asks you to for help, it's your job to help.
Professor Granich was great at making math easier. The way she explained topics made it clear, she teaches step by step so that all you have to do is follow the steps. Do the homework!! You can easily get an A if you do the homework. I didn't do the homework and was kicking myself by the end of the class.
She is a horrible teacher, goes super fast through the class, isn't willing to help, mad all the time, and overall makes math a lot harder than it should! Will collect homework literally whenever she feels like it.
I took her 8 week course, the class was fast paced but since she was a great teacher I learned A LOT. She gives you lots of homework problems to help prepare you for the tests, not to mention the quizzes are just the homework problems. You're allowed one cheat sheet on the exams and gives extra credit opportunities. She's awesome, TAKE HER!
Funny and entertaining in her lectures, keeps everything simple.
Professor Megan allows to use cheat sheet on the exams.
Prof. Granich is very sarcastic and crude, which is fine, but she can be kinda mean if you don't understand the material. There's very little extra credit and group work is mandatory, and she's a really tough grader. She did show us some clever ways to simplify problems and lets you use a cheat sheet for exams.
She doeskin give a whole lot of extra credits, but you know what she drops Ur lowest test, quiz. hw, gw, and that raised your grade by a lot. some people got pumped up by 10% or more, that's a lot !!!plus cheat sheet, and review before every test. you have to put some work into this class. i will take her class again , but she doesn't teach 150.
Her class isn't very difficult. She allows you to bring in a joke for extra credit during exams and she drops your lowest grades on homework, quizzes, etc. Group work is required and, as long as you do the homework, you'll be fine.
Took Granich over the summer for business calc and it was the most enjoyable math class I have ever taken. She explained things so simply and clearly and the material was supplemented by group work (so pick a good group). Definitely do the homework and don't rely on the cheat sheets for the test. Extra credit for bringing in jokes on test days!
I honestly really liked this teacher. If you put in the work you can pass. Make sure you do your HW everyday to better understand the material and for those next day quizzes. She gives great notes on lecture which helped out a lot. I had not taken math for over 10 years and was able to pass in the winter.
She's really funny and but rude as well. Her class was okay, but not the best.
If you struggle with math like me, I don't recommend taking her class. She has a rude and either you get or you don't attitude with no help or extra credit options. She does however allow you to use a cheat sheet for test.. she goes very fast almost like review instead of actual teaching. Again you get it or you don't, either way she moves on.
Megan is a hilarious and kind professor who is there whenever you need help. The only thing is that her class is challenging and not something you can easy-A unless you're gifted with godly math abilities.
She's an awesome professor! There's a lot of homework, but you don't have to turn it in always, only when she asks for it. However, I recommend you to do it because the quizzes and exams are based on the homework. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities.
I have a very difficult time with math. She is a typical professor with everyday doing a few sections, typical lecture type if you ask me. The material was hard for me to understand and I could not make her office hours so I emailed her A LOT. She is strict and straightforward (which I like because if you try you learn). I thought she was awesome.
Switching from classroom to online was a huge challenge for this professor. She was all over the place in class. The adjustment was too difficult. You could almost count the number of students on one hand when I dropped it. That should be your sign.
All through the classes switching online due to the pandemic. Professor Megan has been very organized. I can't say enough about how great he YouTube lectures are. She went out of her way to purchase equipment so it could make learning easier for us. Thumbs up to the professor. I wish I had her in High school.
She has been tough teacher since the class shifted to online.
This professor is rude & condescending. She loves to use the word duh which is not only childish, its also insensitive to someone who is actually struggling. She talks about herself a lot, referring to her strenuous training schedule as if We should bow down to her. I regret spending my hard earned money on this course. I do not recommend her.
Highly recommend toavoid this Class. This was taken online due to Covid, maybe that was part of the issue? maybe shes more open and funny in higher level classes? She was needlessly rude at times. Im used to having a lot of Math homework, but she makes Math more tedious than difficult. The test questions are hard as much as theyre annoying.
Professor Granich gives you literally everything you need to be successful. That class is hard, because its math, but she is a great teacher. If you attend every class, do ALL the homework and ask questions if theres something you need clarification on there no reason you cant get an A
PROFESSOR GRANICH IS THE BEST. CLASS ONLINE IS CHALLENGING NOT STOP YOU KEEPING WORKING.
I understand that the homework is a lot for the math which is great. But the exam way harder than the homework. I would prefer harder homework; so, I can prepare. Not an easy homework and hard exam.
I took Professor Granich for Math80 in the summer. This is a tough course , but Professor Granich has clear lectures, responds to emails quickly and makes it very clear on what she expects. Her lectures are also hilarious! I highly recommend her if you're looking for a professor who actually cares about what they teach.
she is very rude ! attempts to make jokes but comes across as very rude , if you suck at math and are thinking of taking her class , think twice . Does not have patience and is condescending
Her syllabus is 30 PAGES LONG. And she expects you to read all of the pages and take a test on them. She's not nice In her into vid she constantly encourages people to drop the class if the work didn't look familliar. She doesn't want to teach. If you get sick and miss a test she made it clear that she didn't care and not to email her for a make up
She is definitely a tough woman. I took her online and she made the class sound like we were taking Trig, she KEPT saying that this class is going to be extremely time-consuming in a negative way. what I really disliked, and why I dropped, was her tests and exams! she does not give enough time to complete them!
At the very beginning she repeatedly told the class that we would probably fail. She seem to take great pleasure in letting us know that. She is sarcastic and unprofessional. I dropped her course just because life it hard enough without your professor kicking you daily.
She is a tough professor, as in a tough love kind of way. She wants you to pass and her way of explaining things is extremely helpful, her lecture notes are easy to follow along. She will explain things, but remember it is up to you to practice and do the homework if you really want to understand and pass.
L Professor. She is difficult for no reason plus the math isn't even hard. She is just craving a power dynamic. I am no A student but this seems like a meme at this moment. Two weeks in and you hear this chant from her "you will fail if you dont do x,y,z". idk just take an easier professor honestly.
This was the best math class I have taken in years, if not ever. She is very caring and truly wants you to succeed. The lectures are thoughtful with daily 1 or 2 question quizzes (Easy Points!), as well as groupwork at the end of class to better help you understand the material. This class is very easy as long as you put in the work to succeed.
Professor Granich has a fun sense of humor that keeps the class engaged with the lectures. There are enough assignments and homework to keep you busy, but keep up with the schedule and it will help you on the tests. She always opens the class with time to ask questions, and will help you succeed if you put effort in. Fan of this math class!
I would definitely take Professor Granich again. Even though I didn't get the best grades in her class I feel like I understood the content much better than in my previous math classes. She will answer any questions you have and is extremely personable. Be prepared to work hard. There is group work too and she is upfront about her expectations.
There is a lot of hands-on participation in this class (like short daily quizzes and group work), but you'll be fine as long as you follow along with her notes and the lectures. Professor Granich gives you everything you need to do well and you just have to put in the work to succeed. She doesn't sugarcoat anything and the class is straightforward.
I know you see the good reviews and think that she might not be that bad but I very strongly recommend taking a different professor. Seriously.
Exams are 50% of your grade and the final is 40%. You did small group works at the end of most classes, but they do absolutely nothing for your grade. She doesn't grade homework, but be sure to do it, because it's essential to pass. Her lectures are super fast and don't cover everything, so you have to teach yourself with the textbook. Overall bad.
very difficult class. It's extremely difficult as you only have discussion boards and exams (of which are impossible) to make up for your grade. I feel like I didn't learn anything. Lectures don't really make sense. I don't recommend this class if you aren't great at math
Veeeery stressful class, and I mean moreso than the class needed to be. Exams are 80% of the grade and she says "know everything" so the practice exams aren't enough to prepare for the actual exams. You'd better hope you have photographic memory to remember everything ever covered. No curves or extra credit unless you're taking the class in-person.
Awesome class and professor! This was probably one of the best math classes I've taken. Lectures were informative. Besides the lectures, the homework helped me ace the class which was not collected. The homework is very helpful when it comes to preparing for exams, so DO IT and PRACTICE! She also allows a index card cheat sheet for exams too!
Excellent notes system. Doing the homework is very important. If you are taking this class practice the fundamentals as much as the new stuff.
Make sure you do all the homework and go to the tutoring center FROM THE START of the class. Group works are like quizzes so pick a good group! Follow lectures closely and understand the homework and you will do fine. This class is a 5 unit class and I truly feels like it but Megan does make it achievable.
This class was straight business. Show up to all the lectures and do all the homework and you will be fine. Its very cumulative so understanding the content in the beginning is important.
Mrs. Granich is an amazing teacher, but her class is very difficult because it is a calc class. It is a test heavy class and homework is optional, but if you don't do the homework the tests will be hard.
lectures are hard to follow, group work at the end of every class a basically a graded quiz on something you learned how to do less than 10 minuets ago, and practice exams are nothing like the text book so you might as well review the entire textbook. The teaching style is below mid and everything I knew was from the tutors in the study center
Full class on the first day compared to about 9 students on the last. It seems like she does not care about her students and would rather be training for her next marathon than explain how to solve the problems in depth. This class is already hard but she makes it harder, had me crying trying to study for her tests and math is my best subject.
I'm not insinuating anything, but on top of everything else, I would like to note this professor kindly informs you on how very few people leave good reviews and that it is more likely for someone to leave a bad review then urges you to leave a (maybe good) review on this page. Allegedly.
She was nice professor and was pretty straight forward on what we had to do. However exams are worth a lot of our grade. I would suggest studying and doing the practice problems like crazy.
Professor Granich is not approachable AT ALL. Homework wasn't graded, but she assigned way too much. She doesn't curve or drop your lowest exam. The exams were not based on the homework assignments, she creates her own problems. She doesn't offer extra credit!!! I highly don't recommend taking this class!!!
She treats the class like a graduate program and makes the class more difficult than it truly should be, but she seems to take pride in that. She's good at teaching the concepts themselves but her attitude towards students and her style of grading and testing is absolutely ridiculous.
Professor Granich makes math understandable. She explains concepts clearly & in an accessible way. She builds on previous knowledge so the next chapter/unit makes sense. I ranked her class medium-difficult is because the math itself was difficult for me. Like any math class, you HAVE to put in effort. DO THE HOMEWORK - it helps with understanding
[Spring 2022] The professor's class is tough and she doesn't care to help out her students when they are confused about what is being taught in her lectures. She just assumes that you weren't paying any actual attention in her class and isn't aware she teaches fast. She doesn't care about Service Members when they want to be excused for drills.
[SPRING 2024] your entire grade consists of 4 units exams and a final exam. Normally does not give extra credit, but did offer it this semester for attending touring meetings due to everyone struggling. Her practice exams are NOTHING like her actual exams so study pretty much all the homework and discussion boards. Find an easier professor
I am not sure why Professor Granich is rated so high, she is not understanding of her students and comes off as abrasive, which is fine I usually would not mind. However, Professor Granich is hyper-specific when it comes to tests. She marked off points on an exam because my work was not shown vertically (it was) even though it was 100% legible.
If you don't have a external camera that can shows your WHOLE table then you will fail this class 100%. She is a really selfish prof. only wanting what she wants rather than the students. You will constantly hear "if this isn't right. you will get a zero". If you aren't technologically prepared to take this class then find a different prof.
If you aren't able to show your whole desk while taking test you will get a zero. Even though she shows her inspirational videos to get you mentally prepared for her class. You will hear "YoU wILL gEt a ZeRo iF ThIs IsNt RiGhT" to get you right back down. Good luck if your taking her class, just make sure to get the drop button ready!
Doing well in course is achievable, as long as you take time to do and understand the homework you should do well. It is a challenging class but, if you put time into it you can succeed. The homework is not graded but it helps to do it, it is the best way to study for exams. Overall professor is great at teaching math.
waste of time. most students drop or fail. do not take!
Lectures were easy to follow & lets her personality come through during lectures (in a good way). That being said, the semester started nearly full, but only a handful were there to take the final. You'll learn basic bus calc if you pay attention, but the class is relatively difficult regardless. Do the HW-review everything-get extra help if needed
I am not exaggerating when I say this has got to be the hardest class of all time. 4.0 student and this class might actually be my first failed class EVER. She's does not gaf about her students, and she cares more about showing her plastic medals. This teacher needs to learn how to be a teacher. She got 0 TEACH.
TERRIBLE professor. She's a good teacher, don't get me wrong but she makes her tests NOTHING like the actual tests even though she says that the practice tests are for "her mission to prepare students better". The tests are probably 5x harder and tests are the vast majority of your grade. Also webcams are required and she's very specific about it.
Says get ready to make math your life. She means it. Grade is 90% based on tests. Insanely difficult grader. Practice questions, homework, test prep is easier than tests. GL aiming for a good grade… just aim to pass.
Please do not be daunted by these reviews. Professor Granich is a great teacher with sick lectures. I would recommend brushing up on college algebra on Kahn Academy before starting the class. If you are willing to put the effort in, you will succeed. I wish I could say more her but I truly do recommend her, I just had an awesome semester.
One of the worst and hardest professors I've had. Please don't trust her high rating as it is inaccurate. She is extremely strict, threatens to fail you over small things, and makes you buy a whole side-view camera of amazon to monitor for online tests. Take this class at Harbor or Compton College to actually pass online. Hope I can help y'all.
External webcam required to take the class. She is very specific about how to submit work for exams and how to do work. Very strict, discussions and exams makeup your whole grade for the class so it's almost impossible to make up anything. Her lectures are ok but you might as well take another professor. 33 ppl started and half left so good luck
Horrible professor. This was the first class I ever had to withdraw from. She's very specific about how to pose your webcam and submit your work, and your grade is based only on discussions and exams that don't match the practice tests or homework whatsoever. She also doesn't offer extra credit.
