Megan Koch is the single worst teacher at this university. The entire class was raising money for the arthritis foundation, which is great- but taught me nothing. We never touched the book, and she was a horrible teacher. Listening to her talk about nothing for 3 hours a week was torture.

I thought she was the worst teacher I've ever had. She doesn't help you at all and the only time she will is if you come to her office hours. Even then she just complains to you about the class in general. Great concept for a class, but it was poorly taught. She was disorganized beyond belief. Take someone else if you can!

She is one of the most confusing teachers I have ever had. Group project has no direction and is worth half of your grade. She NEVER uploads grades, so you never know how you are doing. Online exams are alright but must use textbook to pass, often unclear/multiple answers. Nice person, but would not recommend her to any of my friends!

Megan did an extremely poor job teaching this course. We only met 10 times the entire semester, and for 4 of the classes we watched 30 minute videos. This class is absolutely NOT worth the money I paid! Sadly, you will be unable to avoid Megan if you are in the Com program, so good luck! Group project 50% of grade and no guidelines whatsoever!!

Tests are so vague and offtopic and filled with errors. She wanted us to use the online textbook which is garbage (the company is basically ripping us off). The powerpoints are incomplete and she never posts the homework assignments on time and often its unannounced. She never does her part but expects us to do ours. I wouldn't take her.

Waste of a class. You only meet with her once a week, and she missed class four times- in other words, over the course of the semester, she missed an entire month of class. Doesn't matter that much anyways, you don't do anything during the lecture besides watch videos. Uploaded all grades the last day of the semester. Avoid at all costs!

Worst teacher I have ever had. This class had so much potential, but she cancelled class SO MUCH.. Everything in this class is up in the air and you never know your grade until the final- and then have no idea why you got that grade. Please don't take this class- it will ruin your semester..

Probably the most disorganized professor and class I've ever taken. Expect to never see your grades until the end of the semester. Also weird that I'm supposed to be taking a class on small group processes, but I ended up having my arm twisted into raising money. Prepare to waste a significant amount of time studying for irrelevant tests.

Probably the most disorganized teacher I've ever had. She will take for ever to respond to emails (if she even responds) and isn't very clear in her answers. Doesn't discuss material in class for exams, it's usually just about the group project. Started off the class by saying she was forced to teach this class because no other teacher wanted to.

Megan was hard to get a hold of during the semester. Her directions were vague and I did not receive feedback or any updates on my grades until after most of the semester was over. She is unclear, unorganized and not somebody I would take again.

Megan is extremely disorganized and unhelpful. She gives no feedback until the end of the semester. She goes very off topic in lecture.

Going to lecture are pointless because most of the time professor read out the lecture slides. If she asked you to not to buy a text book, please buy the book, at least you can read the textbook during the class period. she did not teach much but ask super details in the exams and her class is worthless to take. she is pretty horrible communicator.

Super moody and very disorganized. Lacks basic speaking skills. Has zero knowledge of real-world work environments. Good reason to change your major. Very lazy with grading and assignments.

Megan is very immature, terrible at communicating with her students, and gives little to no guidance for the group projects. She is overall disorganized and her lectures are difficult to follow. We had an issue and she did not give us any help at all, and in fact tried to make us sound like we were being lazy. This class basically has no teacher.

I am not a fan. She likes to force her personally opinion on you about something you really don't want her opinion on. You have to take selfies for attendance so she can remember who you are, but she never does. She has 2 GA that grade and do mostly everything but the presentations on Tuesday. Good luck talking to her outside of class

She makes you do selfies for attendance that's worth half your grade. You miss one no matter what the excuse is you lose half of the points. She forces you to raise 700 bucks for the group project that's worth majority of your grade. Also she's terrible at reaching out to you. If you can find a different professor please do so and avoid her.

She does not communicate clear enough for her students to properly do the assignments & did not provide the right tools for everyone to succeed. The concept of her class is great, but she is not the right professor to teach this class. The entire semester I was stressed out. My group and I had to spend our own $ to fulfill this courses expectations

I have never felt the need to rate a professor horribly, but she was so bad the entire semester, I thought I should let anyone who is interested in taking her for a class what is up. She is unorganized, doesn't abide by the rules of her syllabus, was rude/disrespectful one-on-one, never put in grades & never replied in a timely manner to emails.

I have left for winter break and the whole class still has a dash mark for a grade. If you care about your grades and want to know what grade you have dont take this class. The class is very easy but very pointless. Shes always at least 5 minutes late. Very unorganized. Shes very laid back but I would never take her again.

While she is a sweet lady, her teaching abilities are inept at best. If you need to reach this professor outside of class you have a better chance of finding her home address somewhere and showing up at her front door step then getting an email back. She is hilariously unprepared for class every day. Only good thing is you get out of class early.

The class its self isn't very difficult, but there is a severe lack of instruction throughout the course. For being a communications teacher, Megan does not communicate at all. She never inputs any grades during the course. I had no clue what my grade was. All in all, I would not recommend taking her class.

The entire class is a group project where you need to donate $100 or 10 man hours per person in the group. If you make more than $10 an hour at work, you literally lose money if you take time off to volunteer, so you donate which means you pay for an A. Not to mention, our final assignment was a 5 page paper analysis of a Project Runway Episode.

Please do not take this professor. She does not care about her students. Her lectures are very messy and do not help you with the actual goal of the class. The whole class is graded on a semester long group project. You have to either raise money (up to 700 dollars) or volunteer (10 hours per person).

This is by far one of the worst professors I've met. This person is unprofessional and many ISU counselors are aware of how many complaints come. To the people defending her, you are paying $14,000 to have class canceled, get thrown a random letter grade, last-minute work dropped, does not even follow the syllabus if you care you would report her.

This class is in the negotiation of having its teacher replaced due to a number of complaints. If you defend this teacher you don't know how to stick up for yourself. Our class project was to start on January 27th we did not start till March. How can you say we were a little bit behind. We were way behind.

She does not grade work other than meeting reports. She gave students rando grades for "not signing in". I do not think she is there. I filed a report to the director of communication through my counselor and I have to meet him now. She even dodges the course evaluations. Found out through my counselor that she is always getting complaints.

We didn't get our groups until week 8 or something and we were supposed to have them at week 3 or so. She seemed very disorganized the whole semester and would randomly cancel class. She takes attendance through an online service so it's pretty easy to just do the online hw and get an A.

Megan is a very difficult professor. Her class has little guidance and is very complicated. For a communications professor, she is horrible at communicating. This is the worst class I have taken in my 3 years of college. While she can be nice she can also be a word I cannot say. For our major project she basically gave us a giant complicated packet

We are not even halfway into the semester and she is just TERRIBLE. She gives out weekly reading quizzes and DOESNT EVEN OPEN THEM ON TIME. She is so unprepared and believe it or not, CANNOT communicate well or clear. The group project was unorganized. Lectures are boring. Pray for the rest of the semester :)

Megan is honestly a bad professor. I dont know why, but she assigns this huge project, is not helpful in completing it, and literally doesnt grade anything until like the last 3 weeks of class. If you are taking this class for an elective, do yourself the favor and pick something else.

The class I took with her (COM 223) can be summed up in one word: confusing. She doesn't follow the syllabus and gives very little detail as to the group project which makes up most of your grade. Grading was super behind (even with two TAs). I would recommend looking for other professors, she is horrible at organizing and sticking to plans.

Her and her TA's are annoying. She barley grades anything.

Horrible at grading, waits until the very last second to grade so you have no clue what your grade is. The entire class is literally just one group project that is volunteer work. You have to volunteer and you can't volunteer during the class time instead of class.

By far the most disorganized class I have taken. the lack of organization in this course has been my main source of frustration. Assignments and meeting reports are graded super late and it caused us to lose a lot of points. Requiring 10 hours of voluntary work or a $100 payment for the final project is ridiculous.

RELENTLESS grader. Told an anecdote about how she was going to fail a group due to their raised funds being stolen (they were found) and demolished our group's grade due to photos being submitted wrong. Also, extremely difficult to reach outside of class and gives very little feedback that is overall confusing. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Horribly unaccessible, doesn't grade well, when she does get back to you its vague and she completly misses the questions you ask.

The entire class is one group project. Her lectures are terrible. Does not reply to emails. Ever. Grades terribly and locks your grade so you cannot see your letter grade till the semester is over. Please take any other class.

Professor Koch takes EONS to grade your work. She has her Canvas setting where students can't see their grades during the semester, although I think she only uses this feature because she doesn't grade anything until the very last minute. Her lectures are VERY MUNDANE, although sadly she uses a Nearpod to take attendance. She can also be emotional

Rarely knows whats being asked or what the problem is & doesn't let you see your assignments grade during semester.

Disorganized and over opinionated lectures that are condescending and borderline disrespectful to students and people who do not share her point of view. I completely understand why she has the most reviews of any prof on this site for the ISU comm department and why 50% of those reviews have her listed as AWFUL. That many people cannot be wrong.

Short and sweet: I learned nothing. I wasted my time and money. The content of this class was all common sense and she rambled about unrelated content for atleast half of every lecture.

Doesn't let you see the grade and won't let you see the grade at all. It is finals week and i still dont know when it is

She makes you post your beliefs by posting the type of organizations and causes you support and groups you that way. Was put into a group I whose causes I don't support, after asking not to. I get bullied by other students and traumatized all do to her actions.

If you can help it DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Megan was a god-awful professor who could not care less about her students success in and enjoyment of the course. Grades aren't shared until it's too late to do anything about them. Will dock your grade if you are sick. She cannot answer a question to save her life. Very unorganized. Avoid at all costs.

If you value your mental stability and GPA, do not ever take a course with Megan Koch. Your grade is not able to be seen the entire semester. I unknowingly finished with a 79.8 when there was nothing that could possibly be done about it. The way she runs this class is nonsensical. She shouldnt ve a professor.

Megan Koch is a sarcastic, immature, unorganized professor who treats running her courses like a part-time job at BEST. Me and my group begged for money from any relative, friend of a friend, old manager, ANYONE! And we woke up countless times very early morning for basically hard labor at wherever you choose to volunteer. Horrible experience. 0/5

Least favorite professor I have ever taken. She was never clear with directions, and extremely passive aggressive when it came to my project evaluation, even though most of our issues was because she didn't know how to communicate. Very unorganized and annoying, and takes FOREVER to grade.

Megan is a good person, but personally, she doesn't know how to teach. She teaches like it's a part-time job. I haven't been able to see my grade this whole semester, and every time I ask if she's going to grade anything, she says yes, but doesn't do anything. She dances around the classroom and doesn't give directions for assignments. DON'T TAKE!

Waited until very last day of the semester to put all grades in. I had a 99% until the very last day. You do these weekly assignments with your groups and she didn't grade any of them until the last day so you weren't able to ask what you were doing wrong. Its an easy class but she treats you terribly.
