IF SHE READ THESE COMMENTS, SHE WOULD PROBABLY FAIL ME BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT IN COLLEGE STYLE SHEET FORMAT. NEEDS TO STOP WATCHING THE SIMPSONS AND GET A SENSE OF COMPASSION.

Mostly helpful, very friendly and funny, but beware: not an easy marker, but will force you to learn because of this. If looking to learn, maybe this is your class. Looking for good GPA, maybe not your class.

I personally really liked Megan, she is a very smart woman. Although I liked her, I still recieved the worst mark that I have ever got on a in-class essay, so beware she will only keep you laughing until you get your first grade.

Megan is a very good prof. She extremely enjoys teaching her students. She can be a bit strict, but is very relaxed compared many English teachers. She is very helpful, but also very hard, especially on essays. If your goal is a C, take her.

An affable person. Marking is quite tough, but a fun class (provided you are not one to frett and whine over little marks). Would recommend.

Dr. Otton is a fantastic prof, very intelligent, knowleable on many things English and otherwise. Expects participation and takes it as an insult if students don't do the readings. Fair marker, high expectations, entertaining and passionate.

I didn't get a great mark but I will say that this prof is one of the better profs at Langara. Definately a tough marker & students don't realize this right away but she's got a great sense of humour and can keep you awake the entire class. Recommended!!!

Dr. Otton is an unbelievably top grade professor. She is superb, and honest and appreciates hard work.

IF u have a packed schedule with hard classes make sure u take eng with her b/c she makes life seem so much easier!! she may look intimidating, but is extremely approachable and isnt pissy about extentions!!! But she may be a hard marker, don't be fooled.

honestly, for whoever is complaining, teachers are not MEANT TO BE EASY! they are meant to teach! and she's an excellent teacher! if you want to learn take her classes! Don't be a whiner, you friggen kids.

i think shes an awesome teacher...don't get how you couldn't like her made class not boring is very helpful always there if you need advice on anything..and i mean anything..and she actually corrects your work w/o discriminating it!..highly recommended

Megan is an extermly helpful teacher. I would recommend her to anyone. She is a hard marker, but she always gives you a chance to correct your work. I will be taking many more classes with her.

pretty good! has loads of trivia to keep class interesting. i highly recommend her especially if you're having trouble with grammar... she can give u a crash course in it and it'd make a big difference on your essays.

best teacher I have ever had. she's hella funny and really helpful. It's true that she is a hard marker but she lets you correct all the stuff you do so you can have a better mark...and knows how to keep the class awake. XD totally recommended for students who're still struggling with english...

Dr. Otton is friendly and funny. Her classes are fun and you can learn a lot from her. So if you are struggling with English composition and grammar, take her in English 1110. You will notice a great improvement in your writing by the end of the semester.

I loved her class ! SHe was my first english teacher and she did a great job . lol i mean i did - but she helped me a lot. And she is fun, even though sometimes I didn't understand her jokes. And yeah, she has an English accent - so at the beginning of the semester I could hardly understand her, but then i got used to it

very nice teacher. very helpful as well. i really recommend her! she was funny, and made class bearable..though she does go off topic MOST OF THE TIME. but if you have any problems/concerns, just ask her and she'll help you out.

Classes are interesting though most of the time was not mandatory to attend since it was basically discussions going on tangents. She is hilarious though and I had a lot of fun during the lectures. Very clear on explanations. Supposedly a hard marker on essays but visit her in the Writing Centre and she'll help you out. Overall I recommend her!

going to class was pointless most of the time if you wanted to learn something. but when we weren't doing anything, we would be talking about current news or gossip(which megan absolutely loves). no final exam in this class, but majority of your mark is based on a film essay which we didn't end up completing to the fullest cause of the olympics

Class is a fun, but COMPLETE off topic. If you want to BREEZE through this class get her to teach it. The Reading&Study skills book,we BARELY use it. If you can just get another teacher to teach you the course, if you want to be challenged. She CUDDLES way to much. She makes you repeat the summary over and over, but not the essay.

Caring,VERY understanding, and AWESOME. Textbooks BARELY use. Class is fun to go to, she might have ADD lol. She can NEVER seem to stick with the topic.She goes over the homework, so don't bother doing it.

Otton is hilarious. Before taking her class I was a bit put off by the descriptions of "the devil reincarnate" and pretty scared to go, but she is actually quite understanding and tries to make things clear to her students. If you are going into her class strictly to learn you will go nuts - class is mainly banter. I recommend her based on hilarity

She is a hard marker but for a reason. She knows what we are in for and is preparing us for 1127 or other further english classes. She is very understanding about any adverse life events and will try to make your time at this school easier for you.

She's such a hilarious professor. She explains things very well with good examples. She like to get the class involved sometimes, so be ready to participate when she points at you (easy questions). Yes she does get off topic sometimes, but the things she says are quite interesting, I like to listen to them. This woman is extremely helpful.

Fantastic teacher. Fair marker but not easy. Passing mark depends on your final. Lots of summery to do which are very useful. However, nothing usuful for essays. She goes of topic a lot. Do not take her unless if you want to kill some time...

Megan classes are boring at time. She does get off topic sometime but she gets her idea and material cross to the student. The stuff she teaches has no connection to class,sometime,if you do the homework and correction she gives you, you will do really well. If you ask for help, she is really helpful with English and other subject.

Her film studies on contemporary anime really made me interested in taking an English class (for once!) Even though her assignments are tedious, she will at least extend the deadline as long as you show how much effort you put into class. If anybody here is an anime otaku, she's your unexpected ally and friend to discuss about anime!
