This teacher is so easy to understand, is funny, nice and makes history interesting. She is easy to follow and right to the point. Helpful, gives useful study guides. Go to class, read the book and you will do well. Being at Sierra for two years, she's the best teacher I've had.
Awesome teacher!! Covered everything and made history interesting. Friendly, helpful, and funny
She is wonderful! Take her class
She is an amazing teacher and really helps to understand the criteria. I learned so much in her class I just wish she taught 17B! Take her class shes fantastic
I have never liked history but she somehow made it fun and she is super friendly and approachable. Very easy to talk to and she gives plenty of extra credit opportunities. She makes her lectures clear and provides a study guide for every test. Best teach I have had yet, would definitely take her again!!! she's awesome!
She will make you love History, she makes her lectures fun and interesting. I would definetely recommended her class. Great teacher : )
professor randolph is amazing! her class has been my absolute favorite this semester. honestly, her lectures are so detailed & helpful i have barely touched my textbook. she is all the info you need. her class is engaging, interesting and fun! this is what a great professor looks like. do the work, pay attention, go to class & you will def get an A
This was an extremely easy class. All her lectures we well organized and easy to follow. There were a good number of assignment but they were all straight forward and she gave you the perfect amount of time to complete them. Her test are easy, the study guide is helpful and so is she. She is super nice and understanding.
Professor Randolph is an awesome history teacher. She makes the class enjoyable, wacky, funny, but gets the point across. her lectures are so thorough, when studying the midterm and final i only had to study my notes for an hour and aced them. she's there to help the students do well in the class.
This professor is amazing, makes all her lectures fun and interesting! Take her!! She gives a lot of extra credit opportunists. 2 tests2essays everything she assigns on the study guide will be on the test. So write down everything she has on her powerpoints! Dont be scared to talk and ask questions during class, shes very approachable and funny!!
I took her over summer. I highly recommend her. It's an easy A as long as you attend most lectures and show some effort. She wants her students to succeed and it's refreshing!
Great teacher. She just makes it fun and you can tell she loves the topic. The tests are super easy if you show up for class, and she gives a lot of extra credit. You can even watch Mulan for extra credit, as long as the write-up is good.
She is an excellent teacher, especially for an online class. Her lecture notes are clear and easy and fun to read and her tests are not hard if you study for them. She gives a study guide for the mid-term and final. One written paper is required but she gives you plenty of time to complete it. I would highly recommend this instructor!!
Professor Randolph is phenomenal. She makes history fun to learn even if it is at 8am! Tests are easy as long as you go to class and take notes on what she says. You don't really need to read the book at all. ;)
Loves to teach history and relates well to her students.
Professor Randolph is an amazing teacher! As long as you show up to class and listen to her lectures you will pass with an A! Tests are based right off the study guide. Book is not necesarily needed because they test is based off her lectures.
She lectures the whole time which can get boring. Group assignments are a piece of cake and take like 15 minutes in class. Don't really need to read the book because everything on the test is in her lectures.
Took this class over summer, it was interesting and I actually enjoyed going for the short amount of time I was in the class. You take notes for most of the class period, unless your watching movies, doing in class assignments, or playin games. She's a great professor and really helps succeed in the class. I'd be down to take 17B.
One of the best teachers I've ever had. She used a bunch of different learning styles and her lectures we're never boring or droll. Tests and quizzes we're easy if you paid attention in class, but I still feel like I learned a lot.
The best history teacher I have taken so far. She cares about her students, grades fast, and gives good feedback. Her lectures are amazing and the tests are right from the lectures. Also uses a great textbook. I would take her for every History class if I could.
She is a fantastic teacher. Very helpful, funny, and he does not give much homework at all throughout the semester. And she is a TOTAL babe., which made me never miss class.
Amazing professor. When she lectures it's like she's telling a story, I've never been a fan of learning history, or at least haven't done well in the past and she makes it super interesting. Hardly read the main textbook at all, everything is in notes. Read two separate books for her class. A quiz on one, a 3pg paper on the other. Great class.
She was one of the best professors I have ever had. For the midterm and final, create flashcards off the study guide and study the notes and understand them because the tests are off the study guide and lectures. If you ask her for help, she will help you as much as she can. Don't need the textbook.
Take her class!!! Only one paper and with her feedback I was able to get 100%. Her tests were a on the material covered with made them a breeze. Read the one chapter a week, do the Discussion board and you will do fine.
She made me love history! Class was super easy: 1 test on a book, 1 essay, midterm, and final. Miss inclassdiscussion? You can make it up! Her lectures were amazing and had great videos to incorporate with it. Plus, she offers extra credit! Do everything you're supposed to do/ take advantage of extra credit, and you'll most likely pass with a 100%.
If I have the chance I will always pick Megan Randolph as my history professor! She is truly an amazing teacher, her lectures are simple and straight to the point and her tests are super easy. It is and extremely easy and fun class! Even though it is an Easy A I learned so much more from her class than I would someone else's history class.
All I have to say is she is an amazing teacher and if you have a chance take one of her history classes!
If I'm being honest, I sort of hate history - but I really enjoyed Megan's class!!! She breaks down the important stuff in her lectures and makes it much more interesting than the book (although you still need the book for the required quotes in the discussion boards). She offers study guides for exams and clear feedback if you missed points.
I highly recommend that anyone who's looking into taking a history course should check and see if Professor Randolph is one of the professors, because she is without a doubt the best history teacher I've ever come across. Take her.
Super helpful and approachable!
I took this class online and found it easy to succeed with Ms. Randolph. She has a simple format for the class (weekly textbook & lecture reading followed by a Discussion Board post with 2 peer responses, a midterm, and a final - also extra credit opportunities). She is friendly, fun, attentive to what is going on, and responds quickly!
Class overall is not bad, pretty average workload and assignments. However I'd have a lot more respect for her as a teacher, and the grades/remarks she gives, if she used proper and accurate grammar and spelling in her online lectures. She's a fine teacher, but I think students need a better example set for them. Hello, SPELLCHECK?!!!
Awesome class! Clear and easy to read lectures. Just follow the directions for the discussion boards and you get a high grade. Exams are easy if you've done the readings. Never liked history until this class but will take any class of hers.
Textbooks not needed, but recommended. Friendly and caring about grades and students. Sticks to her office hours. Offers tutoring. Graded by a few assignments, but offers plenty of EC. Sociable, talkative and engaging. Loves what she does. Would take again!
Good choice for history, but be ware it is not an easy "A" unless you are great with history and memorizing. She gives good feedback, just check the assignment after its graded. Don't forget to use the textbook and lecture because it will break your grade if you don't. She is helpful and responds to you quickly if you have any questions.
Megan Randolph's History17B class is one of the best history classes I've ever taken. she is an amazing teacher. All of her tests follow her lectures perfectly and she allows tons of extra credit. i would recommend her to anyone and I also hope I'm able to take a class of hers again.
She is an awesome teacher for people just getting out of high school. Her class is EASY!!!! no real homework besides a paper in the middle of the term and she grades super fair!
Megan is super funny and an awesome teacher! Her class is pretty easy and you actually learn a lot while taking it. She's super helpful and sticks to her office hours. There's only one essay, a midterm, and a final. She also offers a lot of extra credit. She's a great person and I really enjoyed this class!
I love how this prof summarizes text chapters in .pdf lectures. She writes them in lamens terms so it is easier to follow. She also includes interesting information so you don't fall asleep while reading. She is VERY critical on citations, be sure to follow her instructions closely. Over all, good class. Just do your work and read instructions
Megan is an amazing lecturer! This was by far my favorite college history class I have taken. She is upbeat, funny, and breaks everything down so it's easy to understand. As for workload, there are only a few class assignments, an essay, and 2 tests (midterm and final). She is super approachable and is all around an awesome teacher.
Love her! So fun and a great teacher. She brings in lots of actual historical items to aid the unit. Her entire class is a Powerpoint based lecture. Sometimes an easy in-class assignment. One midterm. One Final. One book report. One book quiz. No other quizzes. Easy class. Don't get the textbook.
This professor is awesome. She makes her lectures fun and interesting and gives you interesting topics to discuss. I would definitely take her again! The class was not hard yet I learned a lot.
One of the best professors at Sierra. It is lecture heavy, but they're entertaining lectures.
Amazing teacher and class.! I never really liked history, but learned so much without even realizing it. She is really fun and wants you to do well. You can tell she loves the subject and knows her stuff. Midterm, final, essay and some easy in class assignments. Show up to class!
She is a truly good professor. She keeps everything organized so the lectures and everything else is easy to access. She is a very fair grader and I really enjoyed her class. I definitely recommend her. If I could I would take her for all of my history classes.
I'm not even done with the semester yet but the grade i get wont affect that she's just a great person/professor and people need to know it! Good wise cracker too! If you're going to take this course take it with her!! You wont be bored! These are the kind of teachers we need more of!
I took this class online and enjoyed it. It's lecture and reading heavy. Discussion board nearly every week. They are lengthy and take time to complete, but she gives no assignments other than the board. Midterm and final are easy MC. Does give extra credit. She participates in the boards which was nice. Quick grader. Easy to get a hold of too.
Megan was awesome! This was her first time teaching women's history, so the class was easier than most. One 4-5 page research paper, two exams, and a few in-class activities. She does lean liberal, but if you know that ahead of time, you can prepare. Highly recommend!
Super nice and chill professor. Just attend the class and listen to the lectures and you will be fine. Easy midterm and final and one essay on a short book. Offers extra credit opportunities. Definitely would recommend her.
Easy class, extra credit really boosts your grade. Attend class, she has great lectures and there are group assignments.
Truly wonderful professor. Made the class very enjoyable and easy to follow. Hoping to take her again for another history course!
She's very entertaining and she brings life to a subject that would be drab for some; Being honest: You don't need the textbook to pass. Study the study guides, read the two smaller books thoroughly, do well on your book essay and book quiz. That's all you need to do to get an A in the class.
Prof. Randolph is such an awesome professor! If you can get in the class before it's full, then do so. Her lectures are clear and directly relate to the discussion board. As long as you set a little time aside to read and do assignments, you won't have trouble passing. And don't expect an insta-A, you still have to do work, but it's all reasonable.
Professor Randolph is one of the best professors I have ever taken. Period. Her womens in American history class was AMAZING to be apart of, as a man who only gets small bits of information on women in American history, it is a HUGE eye opener. The semester isnt over yet and I wish I could take the class over again!
She is probably one of the best professors at Sierra College. She is very passionate about what she teaches. I absolutely would take her again. She cares about her students and wants them to do their best. She is honestly just a great person. Her lectures are amazing too. Even if you dont like history, you will if you take her classes. Smart lady!
She is an amazing teacher. Her lecture are great you can see she loves history and it shows. She makes it fun. II am done with my history requirements and cause of Megan I would take another history class cause it was so fun to be in class.
Amazing prof. I think this has been one of my top 2 classes (women's history)ever taken and same goes for top teachers in this school. Loves her subject and everyone loved her class. She is a rare, caring and intelligent person who is passionate about what she teaches!
I have taken an Online class with this professor and the way she expects work from the students is unreasonable and she is very picky about how she wants the work. Her grading rubric is overbuilt for a simple history course, and it is hard to maintain an A or even B grade. I personally do not recommend this history class. Pick another professor.
Megan's lectures were super interesting, easy to read, and everything she tells you in her lectures are on the exams! She also offers a study guide, extra credit, and videos to better understand the material. She has a word count for the DB's, but you actually learn the material better in my opinion - plus she makes it count for the writing req.
took 6 week summer class. manageable but tedious. great professor and actually learned so much! professor responds quickly. about 10 DB's with min word count of 500 +footnotes, was not hard to meet word min. would recommend! midterm+ final and a quiz(all multiple choice+true/false) and one short essay on the final (2 paragraphs on last question)
She grades things harshly for no reason, it feels like she looks for any opportunity not to give full credit. That being said, it's pretty easy to get partial credit on everything and get a decent grade, but it feels awful to take this class as a perfectionist. Just be sure not to miss any assignments.
I cannot say enough good things about this Professor. Much love and respect for her. Great lectures. Really awesome person. Fair tests. Not overload with homework. Offers a lot of help if you need it. Turns history haters into history lovers!! BEST!! Do yourself a favor and take her class. Youll be happy you did!
I walked into this class at the beginning of the semester having no idea what the ways women have involved our history going back for 100's of years but Megan truly knows how to teach a class and give you a deep respect for the subject. I didn't know at the end how much I truly enjoyed taking this class because of a professor like Megan.
Simultaneously took her U.S. and World History classes. In-class: wonderful and loves discussing the lecture topics; extremely easy. Online classes: VERY lecture heavy but as long as you take notes you will pass with A or B. Discussion Boards weekly online. Both types of classes only had 2 exams: midterm & final. Fantastic and lovable person.
My favorite Professor!! She is awesome! I took her womans history class! Her lectures are amazing not just reading from a PowerPoint I normal hate lectures but I truly enjoy going to class! She makes quizzes easy as long as you pay attention! Pay attention, actually try and care about the class you can easy get an A!
I love Megan! Her lectures are incredible and easy to follow. She has plenty of opportunities for extra credit and is always available to help if you need to reach her. You can tell she really cares about her students and wants everyone to succeed. There is one simple 3 page essay and a couple quizzes and a midterm and final. Very nicely structured
Women in American History class. Great professor. Kind and caring. Offers some extra credit. Her youtube lectures are long but entertaining, so they're worth watching. You will have to read, watch, and write a lot. 20 page chapters, 500 word discussion boards, and 40 minute youtube lectures. As long as you are committed to this class, you're good.
Take her class! She makes the material truly interesting, is hilarious, and will take the time to get to know you. The tests can be a little tough (memorization), but as long as you put in some study time its an easy A class. There is a quiz every couple weeks (open note), one midterm, one final, and one book report. It is very manageable.
Prof. Randolph is amazing. Took her 8 week online course. DBs have a word minimum but easy to meet. Midterm+final, all answers can be found in her lectures! CA Gov/Politics quiz, pulls all questions from a study guide she gives you. Easy if you put in effort! Also she's really nice and clear with grading rubric.
Professor Randolph is very good at responding to emails, promptly. She connects the dots in her lectures and ties them back to previous readings. Her tests are fair and lecture heavy. Don't be frightened by the discussion boards, at college level, they are easy. Pay attention to her syllabus and you will do great.
Megan is honest to goodness one of the best professors I have EVER had the opportunity to learn from! She manages to incorporate brevity into her lectures, providing moments of comic relief, while still treating the darker parts of human history with the solemnity they deserve. I wish she taught more classes that I could take for credits. Truly.
Professor Randolph truly cares about her students passing. I have taken her for two history classes now and she makes the material fun and easy to learn and understand. She doesn't overwhelm you with work but makes you work for the grade you deserve. She is truly a wonderful professor and person.
Prof. Randolph is a great choice for history. She's very knowledgable and her lectures are very informative. For online, there are several DBs where you get to pick the topic. I really enjoyed the class and learned a lot. She can come off as a bit passive aggressive, but overall she's a great prof.
Amazing, my favorite history teacher!!
Professor Randolph is incredible! She is so kind and funny! Her lectures are amazing, the assignments are engaging and enjoyable. Stay on top of deadlines, and really immerse yourself into the discussion posts! If you're taking a women's history course, you cannot go wrong with this one! I highly recommend Megan Randolph! Get into this class!
Professor Randolph was awesome! I took her class online and she made history so interesting. She posts the lectures as a file so you just have to read them. This is a discussion board heavy class, but it is not too bad. Only two tests, midterm and final. All the answers are from the lectures. Definitely take her! I did not find this class hard.
The worst lectures I have ever seen presented as academic material. Major grammatical and factual errors makes conscientious readers cringe ( i.e. So in 1961 and so they elected a wall through the city, which remains until November 1989.) Easy class to pass, but don't expect quality instruction. Until some basic edits are done, I would not rcmnd
I really enjoyed taking her class, she made everything so clear and accessible. never had to wonder when something is due. Gives good feedback. Offers two extra credit opportunities. If you can do the study guides, you will pass the test! Lectures were online and easily able to be printed.
Randolph was such an amazing professor I highly recommend for anyone who needs to take Women's history for the requirement OR needs to take it for their major, she is such a good lecturer and you learn a lot with a light workload. You do have to watch the lectures every week or you will fall behind
Wmns History with Megan was amazing! She was very caring and changed the course expectations according to the online situation and the stress of the pandemic. Although the discussion boards take effort if you watch the lecture videos (there are no zooms or mandatory reading so the vids are the only way to get the content) they aren't bad!
Super easy class, but not challenging which is sort of what I wanted. Some info is inaccurate even if you point it out to her with evidence and she smacks her lips a lot in her lectures which is EXTREMELY distracting. Quizzes and tests are very straightforward. She is so kind and caring but I was just hoping for more of a challenge due to the topic
Megan is an amazing professor! There are a lot of lectures but they are very interesting. Make sure to pay attention to them because that is what you are tested on for the multiple quizzes and 2 exams. Discussion boards are lengthy which is majority of the classwork. Super easy A! especially for gen ed.
Such a great professor!!! Her lectures were the best, always kept me interested. There was never a lecture that I wasnt interested in. Theres discussion boards almost every week, with the occasional quiz and a few movie/article questions to answer instead of a discussion board. Overall a great professor. I would definitely take her again.
Professor Randolph is amazing! Her lectures were great and very informative. Very good with communication. Offered extra credit. Occasional quiz and discussion posts but nothing difficult. Optional book if you wanted to get it you could but not required. Loved the class! I would take her again.
I never liked history until I took this class. I got to take it in-person fall 2019 & her lectures were super interesting. Her tests included an essay section where you had to choose from dif topics & include at least 8 historical terms or people, it wasn't too hard. There was a research paper final that was challenging, don't procrastinate on it!
Definitely very interesting lectures that you have to watch in order to do discussion posts that are assigned every week. Discussion posts were very long with specific instructions to them and your discussion post grade depended if you included every requirement that was needed. Quizzes were timed but not too bad if you watched the lectures.
Loved the discussion boards but all the requirements did give me a slight headache haha.
Professor Randolph was amazing!! US Womens History was definitely my favorite class that I took this semester. Her lectures were helpful and very insightful. Offers extra credit. She is great about communication and is overall such a kind person & professor. Definitely take her class!
Enjoyable. What you would hope for in a professor in an easier course.
I went into this class thinking it was going to be boring, but it turned out to be my fav. class and fav. Prof. That Ive had so far. Theres a DB p/week w/footnotes, at least 1 quiz p/week, and a midterm and final exam. The lectures are amazing, but be warned that theres lot of material to cover considering it was a summer course. 100% reccomend!
Love love LOVE this professor. I took her womens history class and absolutely loved learning from her. Her lectures were very interesting and the discussion prompts (while also asking to reflect what you learned) gave an opportunity to express opinions in a safe environment and opened up great discussions among students. GREAT professor.
I cannot say enough how amazing Professor Randolph is!!! She expresses no biases whatsoever which is so cool because many history teachers unfortunately do. So caring and understanding and even made adjustments to due dates based off of a class vote. Literally the best history teacher I have ever had. Dont hesitate to take her class :)
Professor Randolph was a great teacher. You can tell she is very passionate about what she's teaching and it makes everything more interesting. Great lectures, very informative. Easy A if you participate. I took the online women's US history course and loved it.
She is AMAZING! I wish I could take more classes with her, but my schedule doesn't allow me. Her lectures are very easy to follow and interesting. Weeks are alternating, one week discussion board (pretty lengthy- min. 400 words) but not that bad, the other week a quiz, easy if you watch the lectures. No essays! Very passionate and great instructor!
I mean WOW! I never knew video lectures could be so great. You will learn so much from them. This class was a bit writing heavy. Prof Randolph provided great feedback on each writing assignment to let you know areas of improvement. Also, she goes out of her way to make the course accommodating.
I love this professor, and I love her class. Though the course is, like I said, very lecture heavy, often entails a few hours of video content a week, she's very concise and the content is usually really interesting. She gives great feedback too, I felt very much like she cared about me and what I had to say.
During the worship quiz and exam time that I had, she graded my work so hard and showed no mercy. In her examinations, you don't have the right to back and change your option, and also, you can not see the correct answers after you did the exam to see where you made a mistake and what it was.
It was one of the best classes that I had.
She is very knowledgeable. It is writing heavy, every other week a 400word discussion or a writing assignment, the other week usually a quiz, but he gives lots of information to use. Her quizzes are very easy,I usually finish them in a 3rd of the time, that is if you watch her lectures because all the information is there.I love the way she teaches
I love this professor! I took her class online for the first few weeks of the semester before we were able to be in person. Her lectures are actually interesting and she is super nice and understanding. You do read one book in the semester and write an essay on it for a big part of the grade.
Took the 8 week course for women's history; lectures were long and her voice can be annoying so it's hard to sit for 30-45 minutes at a time but they're informative and interesting. DB's are 400+ words, quizzes, mid term and final exam both with study guides. DB's & exams cannot be edited once submitted and you don't see what answers you got wrong.
Absolutely loved Prof Randolph. I have never enjoyed learning about history, however her lectures are extremely intriguing; I genuinely learned so much from her. She is so knowledgable, and passionate about what she teaches and I appreciate that about a professor. I would take her again in an instant, and recommend her to anyone and everyone!
Professor Randolf was an amazing teacher and I felt like I got a lot out of the course despite it being online and a shorter summer course. She is passionate about what she teaches and gives good lectures that make sense and arent deliberately wordy or excessive. I loved taking this course with her. She is one of the best professors Ive had.
Professor white has a well organized class. Only had to do a DB and quiz. I learned a lot in the class.
I didnt know what to expect with this class, now that Im at the end I think shes one of the best history teachers Ive ever had. Would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a fun and interactive history class.
She is super relatable and is great and making the class fun. As long as you pay attention during lectures it's not hard to keep up with the course material. Very simple and easy class as long as you stay engaged. Very few assignments so make sure to do those that are given. Would recommend to everyone!
She is a great Professor. I took 2 history classes with her. She gives you good feedback. She responds to all emails soon. Just take her class, you will not regret it. You can get an easy A. There are 2 extra credit assignments.
Amazing professor with super engaging lectures! I actually looked forward to her posting the weekly lectures. Each week there was either a discussion board, quiz, or primary source analysis. As long as you watch the lectures the assignments will be easy. It's also a good idea to take good notes. She answers emails quickly and gives great feedback!!
I really enjoyed this class! Very interesting, work wasn't very hard. There is a lot of work, but it's not too bad. At the end of the week, there will usually be either a short quiz or a discussion board. Would definitely recommend!
Simply a lovely teacher. Very interesting women's history class that I recommend every man or woman to take.
I normally don't enjoy history classes, but every single one of her lecture videos is so fascinating and engaging! I learn without even trying, just because she is so good at laying it all out. Due dates are Tuesdays instead of Fridays or Sundays, which actually helps w/juggling other classes. The layout is awesome and there are no trick questions.
I agree with the other ratings that her lectures are extremely interesting. The reason I don't recommend this class is because there are hours of lectures per week, 400+ word discussion boards each week that you have to include footnotes in, weekly quizzes, assignments on things like sources/films, and tests. It's a lot of work. Easy to sink in.
Professor White was a good guide through this online course. She clearly loves her profession, which is inspiring to see. Sure, the lectures are long, but if one buckles-in and works hard, one can get a lot out of this course! I wish that I had chosen the full term (not the 8-week) so that I could have learned even more from Professor White.
Professor White is engaging and funny, her lectures are amazing and filled with so much information. I definitely recommend taking her in-person. Her quizzes are online and there are only 2 exams: the midterm and final. There are some in-class assignments that are done in groups but other assignments are done online. One of my favorite classes :)
2nd time taking her, this time was in-person. Hilarious, super easygoing, friendly, approachable, & amazing lectures. No history textbook for this class just one book that you write an essay on and a small government book that you take a quiz on. Total for both books was around $10-15. She is personally my favorite college professor I have ever had
Her presentations resemble those meant for a 5th grade class. Moreover, her comments on discussion board posts are far from helpful. It's interesting how she can provide such subpar responses while expecting a high standard from her students. I suppose you get what you pay for.
I love history, but this class was so frustrating. It was a summer class, so of course everything was packed. That said, there were so many overly long lectures and random videos to watch. Many test questions are designed to check whether you watched her 5 year old videos, not check for knowledge. Grading criteria on papers was unclear.
I had professor White for a Women in American History Class. The first week was full of gender studies assignments with videos about gender identification topics. This was supposed to be a history class and not have anything to do with gender ideology. She posted tons of overly long and boring lectures that were a pain to go through as well. 0/10.
The professor posts a lot of long lectures, and in the end you do not learn much. The lectures and assignments are focused on gender studies and tests are based off that instead of history even though this is a history class. There is a discussion board every week and quizzes, you will spend a lot of time on lectures that are hard to get through.
She would knock down my points for tiny little things and was biased in her lectures when talking about history. Extremely lecture heavy and would base her quizzes based off of the million videos and reading she would include into the modules. Honestly wasn't too bad but I wouldn't recommend.
Professor White is clearly passionate about her subject matter and it makes her weekly lectures fun to watch. Someone else mentioned she's biased when talking about history but... she's literally just sharing the feminine perspective + female contributions. It's a Women's History course.
Professor White is a highly informed, passionate, and powerful instructor. In addition to these things, she is also hilarious. Be prepared to engage. Her grading criteria are not only clear, but I found them to be often forgiving. I took this class with honors too. Incredible opportunity to reach deeper into course content. Highly recommend.
The subject matter was interesting and distressing. A bit more work compared to some other introductory classes, but if you find the topic interesting then it may be worthwhile. No textbook is a bonus, most course content is through video. There is a decent amount of writing. Online is pretty straightforward.
I would take her class again! Discussion boards are heavy but very doable ( must cite sources). I took the OL class so make sure you keep track and you'll be fine. STAY ORGANIZED. Her pre recorded lectures are super helpful for quizzes/exams but USE THE BOOK for reference. Email her for questions on graded quizzes. TAKE HER CLASS!!
Megan White was a great professor! The attendance is mandatory as a lot of absences can get u dropped. Note taking is important. Her slides consist of a lot of short sentences or words and then she goes over in depth in the lecture. She has the slides posted but if u didn't attend the lecture its harder to understand them. Taking her again!
THE BEST PROFESSOR!! I absolutely loved her class and teaching style! As long as you take notes and participate you will get a good grade! She is very helpful and welcoming and made learning women's history so much fun! There are so many extra credit opportunities if you need it. Take her class if you can!!
Professor White is an amazing teacher. I took her eight weeks online class for women's history and her workload was quite light. One discussion and a quiz per week. The discussion does need some cited quotes from her lecture and reading though. She does grade upon a specific citation style with footnote so be aware of that. Take her!!
I thought she was pretty good. Long tests and extra credit was fun. Lots of discussion boards. She grades heavy, she wants her writing assignments done a certain way, thought she was an English teacher. Very good with communication.
Professor white is amazing and very engaging and really tries to connect with her students definitely recommend her class 100000/10
Professor White is an amazing teacher. Her class was super fun and she is incredibly funny. There isn't much work you have to do and she offers extra credit. Take her!
Professor White was absolutely amazing! She made class fun and I really enjoyed her lectures. There was very little homework, and you have extra credit opportunities. I would definitely take her again!
Easy class, reasonable amount of homework, teacher is responsive, and grading is very clear. Canvas page is laid out well and it is clear what you have to do for the week. Lectures are very well organized too. Really enjoyed this class.
This class had very few assignments. Like, one or two per week. The lectures are very interesting. TAKE THIS CLASS PLZ! Professor White is an amazing professor and so kind! She responds to emails quickly. There are two EASY extra credit that brought my grade up a whole grade letter.
Professor White is an engaging lecturer with a clear grading system. While the workload can be heavy, the material is fascinating. Using Unstuck study along with the course resources helped me excel. Definitely take this class if you're interested in women's history.
Ms. White is an amazing professor. She taught Women in American History very well, and clearly was very passionate in the subject. She doesn't assign too much homework, but is lecture heavy (luckily in a good way).
I highly recommend Megan! Her lectures are super interesting, and she is passionate about what she teaches. There are very few assignments, with some quizzes every couple of weeks and reading one book and writing a couple-page essay on it. Overall, it was an easy and super interesting class.
One of the best professors I've had at Sierra! Lecture based class, but she keeps lectures engaging, is upbeat, and very sweet. Only 1 short essay, and 2 unit assessments. No cumulative final which was super nice, and all the material on tests is all covered during class! Genuinely enjoyed this class!
Delightful and interesting class. The first history class I can confidently say I looked forward to every day. Her lectures are always engaging and interesting, though sometimes she is loose with her personal bias, even if she usually disclaims it as such. Very kind and funny. A stellar professor
Ms. White was the best history professor I could have asked for! She is super lively and supportive and wants you to succeed. Just pay attention to the lectures and take notes and you will pass the class easily. She is super approachable and makes class enjoyable! She cares about her students and I would love to have her again
Took an accelerated course, so was basically doing two weeks in one & it wasn't bad. Honestly very easy, but didn't feel "useless" like some easy classes do. I still felt like I was learning and actually retaining information. Kind, approachable, and available. If you do all the work and are willing to reach out if you need it, you'll be fine.
Megan is a passionate professor. Her lecture slides were easy to understand and well-organized. She's an understanding human being who will totally work with you. She provides a study guide from the get-go for the midterm and final that you work with throughout the semester (can't use it on the exams, but not difficult in the slightest).
extremely liberal
Good professor
Professor Megan is absolutely phenomenal! She gives great lectures and clear homework instructions. She will answer any question and is often open to debates in class. She does have a strict "no mansplaining" rule though but that's not difficult to follow. Just make sure to do the homework and use the resources she gives (study guides, movies, etc)
I did an eight week course and I absolutely loved it! Professor White has a review quiz each week, as well as notes on lectures that you have to turn in. The notes can be taken either online or on paper. Since it was an eight week course, the lectures were pretty long, but the material is very interesting and she makes her slides easy to digest.
She is so amazing and will absolutely help you if you need it. She is also very up to date on campus events and encourages everyone to participate. Her lectures are very straight forward and informative
Take her!!! You won't regret it. This is the first time I have taken a history class and understood the timeline of things and the significance of each event because her lectures make sense. Quizzes and the midterm/final are straight from the lectures. You also write a paper based on a book you read, and the book is very interesting as well.
Fantastic teacher, super interesting lectures and wonderful teaching style. She can be a little tough on the grading but nothing to dramatic, she's amazing. If you have to take history 10/10 take it with her.
Megan is a great professor. Lots of reading and resources, some papers, and clear instructions.
One of the easiest classes I've taken, and she's super kind. Make sure to take lecture notes, and her class will be a breeze.
Megan is awesome! Lectures are super interesting and she offers extra credit. Definitely attend the exam review sessions they really help.
She is awesome! Her lectures are well organized and engaging. I learned about so many inspirational women in history that I had never heard of before. One of the best professors I have ever had! Expect discussion boards and quizzes each week, but as long as you pay attention to lectures and take notes the work is not difficult.
Megan was so amazing, she's very funny and cares a lot about her subject. There was barely any homework and three in-class assignents. The exams take a while but aren't too hard. She grades assignments really fast and is very understanding about when life happens and things are late.
She gave me 0/50 on 2 discussion boards and accused me of using AI. I had a meeting with her after the first time and told her it's bc I use grammerly but then she did it again. She did fix my grade it was just super annoying.
Professor White is an amazing professor. She made learning about women in history exciting and interesting. Her lectures are engaging, and I was able to retain the information presented. Attendance is mandatory. She did not give out a lot of homework. Overall, as a person, she is very caring and excited about teaching. Awesome professor!
Very great professor! And 10/10 recommend. She was so kind and helpful and the material was all created by her and a lot of thought went into it. Not super tough grader but you still feel like you learned something valuable. And she was funny.
Megan is a FABULOUS history professor. She does very inspiring, informative, and interactive lectures that really help you take in what you're learning. Her exams and essay are as fair as it gets, although the writing portion of the exams may confuse some people. Highly recommend this lady. I love her.
I saw many spelling, grammar, and factual errors in the lectures and feedback. I told Megan about a spelling error in multiple places, and she said it was correct without an explanation. She expects high standards for students and doesn't apply them to herself. You can't view tests and quizzes after submission. She makes information easy to absorb.
