This class is a little boring but easy. Reads right off the powerpoint and puts the powerpoints on blackboard. Weekly quizzes but she only grades about half of them and you can use a cheat sheat for every quiz and test. She makes sure no one fails her class.
This class is easy. she doesn't are about attendance and you don't even need to buy the textbook. The actual content of the course can be a little difficult if math isnt your thing, so you may need to show up andbpay attention more. Overall, meg is a good choice for this class.
Easy material but the instructor doesn't encourage learning. She looks down on student when they don't understand the material.
She gives the basics which is nice and you don't have to buy the textbook which saves $ and she will answer any questions you have. However, she does speed through the slides before you can take notes. There's no homework, which is good if your taking higher demanding classes at the same time but that means quizzes and tests are your only grade.
She doesn't give you a chance to take notes from her slides, reads right from the powerpoint with no further explanation, asks if theres questions without waiting enough time for students to form questions or even think about the material long enough to understand it. Quizzes after every chapter but doesn't grade them all, some are open note.
Meg is nice, and you can tell she's smart, but she sucks at explaining everything. There's a test after every chapter and only 50% of them are graded, but the class was so lost after the last chapter that we begged her to make it a take home test and she did. On the midterm we got to bring an entire piece of paper filled out with whatever we want.
Please stay away from this professor. She seems nice but she's the worst at explaining. Econ needs practice and detailed explanation AND she does none of it. She gives open note quizzes and cheat sheet for tests but what's the whole point of that if you can't understand the concept. Just stay away.
There are about 12 quizzes through the semester and she only grades half of them and tells you which ones she grades. There are two midterms and a final. She posts all the power points on blackboard and doesn't take attendance. Quizzes and tests can be difficult, just study the power points and ask questions. Textbook not needed.
She's really nice, but she is not good at explaining the material. Everything we learn is through powerpoints. She gives quizzes which really helps your grade if you are struggling, some are graded and some aren't. They are usually take home and ALL the answers are online. Midterm and Final are hard, but you can use a double sided cheat sheet.
gives quizzes after every chapter. all are open note/book/internet, and only grades about half of them. You are allowed a cheat sheet front and back on all tests (2 + final). not the greatest teacher but the open note and cheat sheets ensure you at least do decent. final is not cumulative.
Avoid taking this professor if you have a real interest in economics. The concepts are easy to understand when you read the textbook, but she makes it so confusing in class. Takes forever to grade assignments (still haven't received my final grade). I honestly have no idea what I've learned this semester....
Extremely hard to understand and follow. Attendance isn't mandatory and you're better off not going and reading the powerpoints yourself. No one understood anything so we convinced her to let us take home the tests. She gives 12 over the semester and only grades half of them. 2 midterms (each worth 50%) and cheat sheet allowed, final worth 30%.
It's now almost the end of the semester and i have no clue what's happening in the class. She goes by too quick, like you could be getting tested you went over a month ago. I'm always lost as to where we are in the class. She's aware we dont get her so she gives extra credit to make sure we dont all fail. Shes a nice lady, but needs help teaching.
If you pay attention to what she is saying, it all makes sense. She gives multiple examples and will answer any question. She will go over it again if someone does not understand. She posts all her powerpoints on blackboard. If you pay attention and go over the material outside of class you should get an A. She also gives extra credit.
3 Tests(midterm I and II plus the final) and there are 14 quizzes half of which will be graded. You can work in groups for the quizzes. NO TEXTBOOK NEEDED. Take notes from PP during lecture and also margin notes of what Prof Hazra says b/c this is what will be on the quizzes and tests. Very smart and helpful. If you're confused, speak up!
Hazra can be difficult to understand and she's aware of it. She curved ALL quizzes and exams. I thought i was failing but she curved so hard, i got an A in the class like dam girl u my homie. She's hard but trust me she wont let you fail or get anything below an A-. Do extra credit! it'll boost ur grade on the exams. DONT BUY TEXT. never opened it.
Take Her! There are quizzes after every chapter, but all are open note and you can work with other people on them, and she only grades a few of them. Mid terms you're allowed a cheat sheet too, and there's extra credit which can really save your grade. Final is open note too. Doesn't take attendance and powerpoint are online but its still good 2 go
Easiest A! Showed up to class, she went over lecture power points. Gave a quiz every other class. Quizzes are group quizzes! She only graded about half of them. Other than that no homework or assignments. Told you what was on midterm and offers extra credit on them. 2 midterms and 1 Final. Final is open note! Overall nice lady. Easy A
She is an easy prof to have for this class. I will definitely take her for Macro. You take the quizzes in groups. The midterms, as long as you make a killer cheat sheet, you'll be fine. The final is open notes and non-cumlative. You would have to try and fail her class. It is hard to understand her sometimes and she moves quickly but she does help.
She made the material of this class so easy to understand and pick up with very straightforward lectures- but always wants to answer questions and explain things that are confusing. Lots of super easy quizzes- everything is done in groups and open notes. Don't buy the book I never opened it. 2 Midterms and final open notes with extra credit points!
Went into the Final with a 106.86 in the class and came out with an A. Greatest professor I have ever taken. Would highly recommend taking her!
Grading criteria is not specific at all. Her tests and power points are the same, but different wording - hard to follow. I got a higher grade than I expected. But I still have to take it again. The tests are all open note. PRINT THE SLIDES, the quizzes/tests come right from those.
There are maybe 10 quizzes, only 4 or 5 she grades, and all the quizzes are open note and group quizzes. You are allowed to have a cheat sheet for the exams but I still found them very difficult. Your final grade is composed of quizzes and tests and the tests are worth 60% of your grade.
Professor Hazra is a bit difficult to understand, and the slight language barrier seems to make it hard to get different explanations of concepts, but this is the case with a lot of Towson professors. Otherwise, this class isn't too difficult if you study, and look for explanations of concepts in other places.
Class is super easy. Quizzes are open note and group. Only 3 tests and you get a cheat sheet. Tons of extra credit. Don't buy the text
DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! All the quizzes are open not & group. All midterms you can have cheat sheets & final is open note. I never bought the book it is completely unnecessary. Attendance is not accounted for and the lectures are extremely boring. The professor is very laid back, caring and nice.
She's a nice woman & this class is an easy A. We almost never have homework. She said that if you attend every lecture she will add 10 extra credit points onto your final exam grade, and also said if your ever not happy with your grade just email her for extra credit. She has allowed us to use a cheat sheet for every exam including the final.
She is a great professor you will actually learn the content. You do have to study and do the work tho which isnt much . For Test you can have a cheat sheet and if you show up to class everyday you receive 10 extra points on final. Class requires you to have a top hat subscription which was $70 all lectures , hw, and notes will be on there .
Dr. Hazra is a great teacher that knows so much about the topic. Make sure you review the practice questions in class and online and you'll do great. Semester is almost over for me and I love the class. I will be taking her again for Econ 202 next semester
She is such a great professor. If you need to take econ, take it with her. She is straight to the point about what you need to know for exams. You get a cheat sheet (front and back). She literally sets up all her students for success. I thoroughly enjoyed this course, and it would not have been as great had I not taken it with Hazra!
I LOVED this professor. She uses a program called Top Hat to make lectures more engaging for students. She is willing to stop the lecture to answer a question thoroughly, and has practice for questions for review online for every exam. She made me think about changing my major to Financeshe is that good.
She doesnt explain the process to get an answer in equations. She doesnt explain anything actually and i would Never take this class again. No examples are provided and whatever you just leave you get graded on in class questions using top hat.
She gives you points on your final for attending class, cheat sheet for every test, homework once in awhile, most of the test questions are from the practice quizzes. Really wasnt that hard. One of the easier college classes and I took her for 202 which was much of the same
Professor Meg is great I had her for Econ 201 and I'm currently taking her for Econ 202. She uses Tophat which is the textbook for the class its $70 , literally everything we do in the class is on there. HW is easy the answers are given, you can use cheat sheets on the test, and she gives 15 extra points on final. Really great Professor!
Liked her as a person but not a professor. She knows what she's saying but I still had a hard time grasping info. I prob overthought the material. Tophat is cool & cheap. Cheat sheets were a must have. DONT THINK BC SHE ALLOWS CHEAT SHEET YOULL PASS W/O STUDYING. & show up, srsly 15 points on final for perfect attendance. she wants ppl to pass!
Microeconomics was a bit hard for me to understand, but she was nice and really helpful. Theres no textbook, instead theres an app you have to download on your phone and use to mark your attendance, read lectures, and answer participation based questions. If you miss a homework assignment and ask her for an extension shell likely give it to you.
she a was a good professor, she wants everyone to do well and she'll make it easy for you to pass. Her lectures were super easy to follow, and the class is three midterms and one final. For the final, if you maintain 100% attendance, she will give you 15 extra points. Some stuff was hard to follow, but for that reason she is always willing to help
Pros 1. Lectures are easy to understand and light workload. 2. If you have a 95% attendance rate, you get 15 points on your final that is out of 50 total points. Cons 1. Exams are worth 75% of your grade. 2. Missing classes leads to a lot of points loss per day. 1 day would equal about 1-2% loss in your total grade.
Lecture slides are very easy to follow and everything was online including some of the exam questions. Attendance is mandatory but 95% in attendance means an extra 15 points on the test. Its very easy to fall behind if your not great at econ but very easy to catch up. Got my grade up from a 65 to an 88 in less than a month.
She gives you four exams for the whole year. You can have a cheat sheet one paper front and back for all of them. You can have at max 1 unexcused absence but she doesn't explain the material too well but overall an average teacher.
She is very reasonable professor and actually cares for her students. If you have perfect attendance she offers extra credit to your final. The class is based off of TopHat where the grades are put in automatically which allows you to have knowledge of your standing in the class throughout the semester. If you want to pass macro take her.
This class was straightforward. She uses TopHat which makes staying organized very easy. The Tests make up most of your grade but the TopHat app has practice quizzes that most of the answers come from so it ends up making them pretty simple. She also gave my class a hefty amount of extra credit for just showing up to class and for a bonus quiz.
The class is really based on attendance, but as long as you show her a note she is really nice about it. Super understanding, and even lets you redo the very minimal homework that was given this semester. She also gave an additional 20 point extra credit "pop" quiz and the tests are easy with 2 page allowed notes. Overall, awesome teacher.
Took this class to fill my schedule because the classes i did need were taken. Big mistake lol. Do not take this class unless you absolutely need it- its harder than it needs to be and she can be hard to understand sometimes. As a criminal justice major I did horrible, but she was a good professor.
Class is super nice. Online textbook which also is where she presents the powerpoints. She also asks questions in class via the online textbook. This counts for participation points. 4 exams and you get a front and back cheat sheet on each. ATTENDANCE NECESSARY
Her class is not easy but if you go for help and talk with her she will help you. Gives 20 extra points to the final if you don't miss class. Homework counts for a lot so make sure you do it. Show up on time! Attendance counts a lot for her. Her class was easy but you gotta work hard.
Super hard class but she made is pretty easy. She allows cheat sheets on all of the exams and gave extra credit on the final for perfect attendance (with one unexcused absence) so go to class. Also if you don't go to class you miss answering in class questions which are also worth a lot of points. Still, overall great professor.
If you have no ECON experience, avoid her, cause she assumes everyone does, and brushes over critical info. Very poor at explaining concepts, she assumes you know a lot. Always begs you to ask questions, but cuts you off and gives you attitude when you do. SO MUCH HW. Class seems like it's just harder than it should be for a core requirement.
She's a nice lady! Make sure you participate in every lecture though and attend every class. The material she teaches everyday will have a few graded questions to make sure you're participating. Gives a lot of extra credit! This class is not easy though, you'll have to work for your grade still. Also gives a few pop quizzes.
I can honestly say I have not learned anything this semester in her macroeconomics class. she assumes that have econ experience/knowledge, however not all of us do, and she is not clear about concepts and how to solve problems. I seriously want my money back from the University for this course. If you're seeing this sorry, truth hurts.
Lecture type of class. Economics is hard for me so I don't understand anything in this class lol. She expects people to understand things immediately and doesn't understand why people struggle in her class. She's very nice tho and she is willing to help outside of class.
She laughs when students get answers wrong. She is not good at explaining anything and the lectures are non-interactive and boring. I would not take it again. She's a nice lady but not a good teacher.
She gives a lot of extra credit! You take a lot of notes in class. Everything on tophat can be googled. Quizzes are open note and you can work with classmates. Tests are allowed a 1 page cheat sheet. The final was completely open notebook. She gives you the resources and extra credit. Do your part and you will pass with at least a B. She's nice!
there are a few pop quizzes but we can work on them as a class, there are also A LOT of questions that must be answered on tophat during class which counts as points (must get them right to receive the point), class is pretty interactive b/c of the questions and 1-2 homework assignments a week. exams can use 1 cheat sheet, and final is open note
Im not the best at Econ but i liked this prof. Shes very nice and if you study you will do well only thing is attendance is mandatory.
Shes a very nice lady everyone in my class really liked her. The exams were a bit tought but we are college students and as long as you study for the exams there fine.
Im an Econ major and I loved this professor. Shes very knowledgeable in the field of economics and tells you what is going to be on the exams. She also gives extra credit. The final she allows you to have a cheat sheet overall wpuld definetly recommended and hopefully I can take another one of her classes in the future.
If this wasn't a required class for my major I would not take this class. It was so difficult and the professor wasn't much of a help. Thankfully she allowed us to have a note sheet on every exam and the quizzes could be done in groups. The tests were very hard.
Professor Hazra was very nice but the lectures often were fast paced and confusing. The exams were pretty hard but she offered lots of extra credit and made it easy to do bad on all the tests but still finish with a decent grade.
Professor Hazra is a very good professor, you can tell she is very knowledgeable in the field of Macroeconomics. The course however is quite hard, but she gives you 15points in the final assessment if you have good attendance, so that's a plus.
She was a nice lady. Her homework was online and it was like a guessing game. Everything is done online and even the test. In class, she would talk and we would take notes while she was presenting the slides. She went too fast a lot of the time. You take your own attendance online at the end of class. I hated the tests. Overall a decent professor.
Ok if this is your first time taking ECON i recomend taking her. At first she was a little bit rude to the students because she expected everyone to know everything first try. But as the year went on she became better and understandiong. Her extra credit saved my grade. Honestly recomend taking her . But be ready because ECON is serious.
I really like Professor Hazra. Dont get me wrong this is a very hard class but she tries to make it as easy as she possibly can. Shes a stickler for attendance but as long as you show up and actually pay attention you will do fine in the class.
I'm an econ major so I might not be the best person take this advice from but her class is super easy and she give out a lot of extra credit.
There is ALOT of points and assignments in this class which is good because if you dont do very well on the exams since there are so many points it wont destroy your grade. Econ is hard but she is always willing to go into detail explaining certain things. If I needed to I would definitely take her for another economics class.
She is a great person, but not a great professor. I would say she is an average professor. Some things she says don't really make sense and she makes it more confusing than it should be. Even though I think I will pass this class, I still didn't enjoy being in her class.
Fast lecturer but explains things very well. Class is easily structured. 1 point for attendance. In-class questions through device. Very understanding and kind. You'll notice when she gives out the pop quizzes. You can work together on quizzes. One page, front and back, open note midterm. Open notes for final.
Prof Hazras class was hard for me but she knew what she was talking about. If you payed attention you should be fine. All of her tests you get a large notecard and on the final exam you get to use your whole notebook. I would recommend.
Prof. Hazra was a great professor. Her class was a lecture so definitely make sure you attend all classes to not fall behind. There were lots of quizzes and homework but it is not hard if you participate.
Prof Hazra is so sweet and helpful she wants you to succeed and wants the best for her students. She has multiple group quizzes and 3 midterms and a final she lets you take quizzes and the final with open notes and a full cheat sheet on tests. She offers 3 extra credit opportunities including if you show up everyday you receive 15% extra credit.
She is an okay professor. She curves some exams and gives EC. Easy to get a B. However she goes very quickly through material.
She's a good teacher but she goes by material SO fast. 3 midterms and a final. Attendance does matter, she gives you extra bonus if you have perfect attendance on the final. Not a lot of HW. Quizzes after the end of every chapter. Overall I'd give her a 8/10
Professor Hazra knows what she is doing but made it very difficult for the class to understand. The tests are hard compared to what we learned in class and the rest of the assignments for the class. She asks random questions about concepts she just barely went over in class that go towards your final grade, as well as pop quizzes every few classes.
Economics is a difficult class but she tries to help out as much as possible. So many extra credit opportunities, and all exams we can have cheat sheets. I love that this course has a lot of participation points because it boosts our grades while we actually learn at the same time. Quizzes are also collaborative which is a W.
If you're not good with pop quizzes you will fail this class. She goes way too fast and assumes everyone understands the material. If you are confused or don't understand, good luck with getting an explanation that isn't bleak or is said in a condescending tone.
Come to class, do the homework, and study the review sheets. It's a harder topic but she spoon feeds the info. The class is extremely well organized which helped a lot. Her only downside is that her energy in class usually isn't the best, but I learned a lot and did well.
Professsor Hazra was just ok, I was not impressed, She does allow you to use a cheat sheet on the exams, but the class is very hard. I was often/always confused in that class. Overall she is an ok professor.
Professor Hazra is a great professor. She wants her students to pass and allows you to work with others on chapter quizzes. She also allows cheat sheets on unit exams. She is very lecture heavy put provides the slides to students and asks questions during class that allow you to earn extra points. Always email her if you are going to be absent.
Professor Hazra is really solid at her job. Her class is lecture heavy, so attendance is highly recommended and sometimes concepts can be difficult to understand, but she explains them in a clear and informative way. She is more than willing to answer your questions and allows a cheat sheet on exams. Also, you can work with other people on quizzes.
I honestly had a lot of fun in this class. Not every concept I agreed with (economics is basically money philosophy), but it definitely taught me some things I needed to know. Especially sunk cost fallacy and opportunity cost. Took in fall 2022. Mandatory digital textbook that you have to 'buy' (rent), even if you have a friend you can borrow from.
Class is hard but she gives a lot of extra credit, plus you can have a cheat sheet on the exams + final was open note. She goes through the slides very quickly and gives almost no time to process before asking graded questions, but extra credit will take you far. Plus her grading scale is nice, you need a 66 to pass with a C. Would take again tho
Econ is generally a tough subject. I am fortunately good at it. Professor goes pretty fast through lectures and often doesn't answer questions in the best way. She allows cheat sheets on all exams, however. I find that doing all homework and practice questions, I get almost all correct.
she is a pretty fair professor, allows a cheat sheet on every exam that can be printed out even the final she allows an unlimited amount, has in class questions and pop quizzes but aren't to bad. there are a lot of chances for points. the only bad thing about her is that she goes through her lectures so quick that class will end early
In our ECON class, all of our assignments are online and we help each other out during quizzes. Her lectures are pretty fast so take that what you will. You just have to write down alot of notes for the class. If you do the assessments you get extra points on exam! Ofc this is an economics class there will be math in it but not as bad as calculus
I rated this professor low initially, but if you're familiar with her style of teaching you will pass and do really well. I recommend taking her again if you are going into either micro or macro, you will know what to do.
my success in this class is heavily accredited to group tutoring sessions and thee homework given. the study guides are very similar to the exams. attendance matters, you can earn so many participation points that will help boost your grade. Econ is a difficult subject and she really wants success for her students.
Professor Hazra was very blunt and to-the-point during class, not a lot of time for asking questions or getting direct feedback though. You get to use your notes and help the people around you during quizzes and you can bring a study guide to your tests which is nice.
Had her for both micro and macro. Once you have her you know her style, however she can be very unhelpful when people try to clarify things. Tests and quizzes allow notes, always get 1 point out of 2 for trying the questions in class, overall not hard pass
Took her for both micro and macro, Good teacher but super lecture-heavy and will need to take good notes. Only focus on her lecture she doesn't test you on the textbook. She has pop quizzes but are open-note. When studying for her exams what helped me was to study previous questions on the practice test and quizzes. Also allows cheat sheets.
Professor Hazra was very confusing at times when lecturing. She would only read off the the powerpoint slides and we would take notes. Minimal participation. Attendance was graded using Top Hat, and keeping up with the work she assigned was difficult. How can someone have only 2 attempts for homework? It baffles me.
Professor Hazra's ECON202 class is challenging but doable with the right approach. Her lectures are fast-paced, so staying engaged and taking detailed notes is key. While the textbook is optional, her practice tests and quizzes are super helpful. unstuck ai was a lifesaver for preparing for exams.
Honestly, really great professor. If you're up for the challenge it's an easy A. She gives 5% extra credit per practice test, must be completed before the exam. I'm a law major so this was a required class, I definitely recommend taking her if you need it but If it's not a requirement maybe skip this class.
She is difficult to understand at times and doesn't give many accommodations. Everything is online. Every class is powerpoint lectures.
His class was kind of difficult so make sure to study outside of class, her tests were kind of hard as well but she would do her best to explain everything properly in class so honestly just pay attention and then read the textbook and homework provided. Econ in general can be kind of confusing, she was strict but you can tell that she cares.
This class was very confusing, and almost all the material I had to learn on my own. Everything is read off slides. Concepts on the tests are different from the study guides she gives, so if you want to succeed you need to forget about using it and just hope you studied the right things.
She can sometimes be confusing. She does give extra credit for every exam. Work is online and easy. Tests are hard, but she lets you have a cheat sheet which is very helpful. Attendance is graded. Make sure you write whatever she writes on the board, it will help 100%.
