Not helpful.. Hopefully an easy a though. If i had the chance to repick who I took this gned course with I would choose Diane Fletcher!
Boring lectures, boring assignments, but easiest A I've ever received.
Talks a lot but says very little. Reapeats himself a lot. Althouhg I thought his information was very clear on assignments, many students find him confusing. He is an easy marker, but wants you to be excited about the topic. GNED is what it is...not very exciting.
Super easy marker and easiest A+ I have gotten. Lectures are boring and he asks pointless questions a lot. You are better off just reading the textbook, which is very small for the GNED class I took. Do something wrong on an assignment and he will practically fix it for you instead of mark it wrong. I recommend him only if you are looking to slack
I would recommend him if you want easy class and a high mark.! All his quizzes are so easy but the class itself is just a pain. He's picky when it comes to assignments. Don't know what he wants.
Easy quizzes (all open book), he is kind of hard to listen to with all his redundant questions. His assignments also lack clarity.
Such an easy class but not in the least interesting. He talks a lot and asks questions he doesn't even know the answer to. It was really boring but the quizzes were all open book and explicitly tells you the answer when you ask for help on the quiz. Easy marks, that's it.
very good instructor and hard on quizzes.
Useless and annoying. Pointless lectures and very limited info on useless parts of information.had absolutely no way to get class Interested or involved. Frustrating and disappointing.
Useless. Has no clue what he's talking about. Isn't clear about anything. Wasted money on this course!!! When he marks wrong he gives no explanation and his office hours didn't work for anyone in the class.
Overall useless, notes are all directly from the text book. Hard on quizzes(not always open book like previously stated). Not very clear on what's expected, same expectations with assignments(very foggy in terms of what your suppose to do)Hard to understand, and very repetitive. If at all possible to avoid dear lord please save yourself the hassle.
I got this course, had no clue what is going to be in it. Now I know what science is and who scientist is. He teaches crystal clear, but you need to be an enthusiastic student in his class. if not, sorry! He does teach very well.
He is a very good teacher. Gives away really easy marks. If you need a GPA booster then i highly recommend this class with this instructor. Though he talks alot and can be really boring, but hey! atleast your getting away with easy marks!!
Nadar is a pretty nice guy but this was a terrible class, he would let us out 30 mins early everyday and by the end of the semester we had to skip the last unit because we ran out of time. I felt like I barely learned anything all semester because the content is so pointless. He is a really easy marker and it was not difficult getting an A.
This guy is super easy to talk to and has a good sense of humor, however the way he teaches is very slow paced at times and then extremely fast. Definitely made it harder to understand things in class. He helps you quite a bit on tests, so make sure you ask questions if you aren't sure on things.
Nader is a hilarious guy, he made class interesting. I'm not one for physics but he made it fun. Examples got better towards the end of the semester, exams were based thoroughly off tutorial sheets and text book questions. Very helpful after class and during office hours.
One word, Helpfull and Going to his class is fun. Loved his demonstrations!
Nader has very good background in science. His class is fun to attend.Waking up expecting his class even 8:00 am feels good! Very well prepared and focused on the text book.
The first class made the course look interesting... but then the other classes came. Nader doesn't expalin anything, he just shoves slides in your face. His grammar is usally incorrect, and he doesn't use comprehensive senetences. The course have been better if it was taught differently, or taught at all.
Nader did very good delivery of this course. Science is his passion and he loves computers so expect him to give some computer quiz/assignment. He got me interested in Excel software which I didn't like before! Good job Nader!
Pros: nice guy, will give you answer if you ask for help, loves Physics and wants others to love it too. Super easy. No text to buy, no lab, no papers, no tests/midterms/finals. CONS: VERY slow grader. VERY! Like a month for 2 questions. Lots of rushed work at the end because we have 20 minute classes for most the semester.
This class is useless. Power Points are terrible and the textbook is even worse! He dismisses class 30+ early, every class. Although it is fairly easy to pass, it is a painful class to attend. The final accurately covers content, however, GNED1102 is likely a better choice as it doesn't have a final at all. Would not recommend.
This course has been vey well delivered by him as he tries to overall give you felling about science. He is very helpful in and out of class and topics are followed as he outlined at the beginning of the semester. Come to class and be prepared, you will get no less than A-. Disagree with those who did not like his class!
He is clearly passionate about science and psychics but is not very helpful in explaining unfamiliar terms. Poor grammarpunctuation, this makes assignments unclear. Course matter is not found useful and lectures are very boring. Do not recommend GNED 1101 very slow paced and elementary.
Really nice guy, but hard to understand. Tough marker, slow to hand things back, and over complicates simple things. Nader does have a great sense of humor though and I did enjoy going to his class
I only made it through about 10 minutes of the first class before I decided to drop the class. He can't form a complete sentence and is hard to understand. He clears his throat constantly which makes it even harder to understand. Tried to be funny but just seemed like a bit of a pompous jerk. Really seems to like him self and his PhD.
I honestly wish I could tell you what he teaches in this class. He never helps to clarify, and often confuses even further. For a non-science and math based student, this class was useless and difficult. He doesn't tell you expectations, or when things will be due. Frustrating class. Not worth the stress.
Constantly drifts off topic, and is never clear about what he talks about. He never gives complete instructions on assignments, and adds things to them as time progresses. Horrible, Horrible prof. I'd rather gouge my eyes out than take another of his classes.
This was an extremely easy class. We had to complete 3 assignments for Mehdi's class which I found extremely straight-forward and easy, and a final exam (which I studied for the day of). I was so incredibly happy to find out that he DOES NOT ASSIGN ESSAYS. And overall Mehdi is a great person and I truly did enjoy his stories and lectures.
Class can be very fast paced but also feel very long (mainly derivation of equations and problem solution); it's easy to get lost if distracted. He makes a quick summary of the previous class at the beginning and gives examples of the concepts in real life. He won't test you on things he didn't teach you how to do. Helpful for individual questions.
Nader is a smart guy who really knows his stuff... However he struggles to relay what he knows as a teacher. His assignments are straight forward but are explained poorly and are often confusing at first. If you put in 70% effort you will do well. Clarification needs to be asked for, he is there for you if you ask for help. Easy A if you try.
He seems to really care about the material but he fails to explain it in a way that makes sense to the student. He spent 2 months on biases in science, yet barely touched on any of the equations or how to do them correctly. I find his explanations long winded, with no clear solution. As well its a pain to go through any lecture (50-200 slides long)
Fantastic personality and excellent teaching method. He doesn't use slides which worked well for me. Reading book is highly suggested in this course. Wish I had all my science courses with him !
In his class, you will forget about all other courses you have. He has such an appetite for demos in class and requires your in-class engagement. Read the textbook as his exams are 50% exact copy of the examples and end of-the-chapter questions. Recommend strongly if you like to know what science is!! Loved his feedbacks!
He is not my favourite. He is genuinely nice and funny and definitely cares about the material, but he goes through examples extremely fast and is very unhelpful. His assignments are grammatically incorrect, and just plain confusing. If you can, take the class but with a DIFFERENT prof.
He has been by far the best and coolest instructor in GNED department. After few weeks , you realize his teaching style which fits quit well with those student with passion. He is NOT recommended if you just want passing grade !
He is a very strange man and is very unclear of expectations, if there are any. This class was so useless and his expectations were highly ambiguous and therefore it was difficult to get a good mark. Regularly gives pointless pop quizzes and takes off major marks on assignments for no good reason. Do not recommend him he is also hard to understand.
He asks your full attention in class. Many in-class involvements and practices, good prof for serious geeks with science appetite!
Excellent teacher!
This guy is awesome, his class is easy and fairly basic. He always asks for feed back from students and all of his assignments, which aren't many are straight forward and easily do able. Super nice guy too.
One word, fabulous!!
I have had him only for two and a half months and he has already marked the friendliest and the most reasonable professor I have had over the past two years at MRU. He seems to put himself in student's shoes and understand ups and downs in their lives. Thus flexible on deadlines and willing to give extensions. Thank you!
He is one of the best instructors I have ever had. Super knowledgeable about physics, his class was fun to attend and also serious when it came to exams. Tough but fair grader! I loved his demonstrations, worked much better than the lab sessions! Really awesome in explaining concepts and helps students minimize faults.
When it comes to Physics, I am scared so are many other students! But Nader was such a gentle and caring instructor with lectures full of real-life examples that made physics piece of cake!! He does expect you to chew the book!! well worth to do. Excellent lecturer with relatively high expectations. Strongly recommended.
Fantastic! I would take any course with him.
This man shows you how a prof should be! I took a hard physics course with him and even in very short spring semester, I could excel A. If it was not because of him, I would have failed. He is truly professional in lecturing and keeping the class a positive learning atmosphere. He dose expect working hard from student. I recommend him strongly.
He teaches Physics very well and was extremely easy to understand + made this course worthwhile to attend. He facilitates a positive environment in which students can receive an possibly the best learning experience. Recommend him definitely.
Take any course with him------- You will not regret it He is fun and entertaining in class with smile always on his face. Never got tired of seeing him even at 8:00 am in the morning! Very knowledgeable and wants you to feel how science is important!
Great prof for the class! Had him for Math and Science in the Modern World. Funny and makes content interesting. Be aware of online quizzes and when he posts them, he doesn't announce them so I missed one of mine. No textbook needed. He provides a pdf. Great lectures. Available on BB. Takes sometime to reply to emails and need to self teach at time
He knows what he should accomplish in the course. Never let the class sleep! funny, passion and energetic.
He is terrible at explaining concepts and speaks in very broken English, making his teaching difficult to follow. If you ask him to explain a concept or equation, he will somehow managed to make you even more confused. He is a nice man and passionate about the material, but fails as an effective, clear-speaking professor. Would not have him again.
Extremely good physics teacher
Nadir has been such an inspiration to entire Phys1202 class this semester. It is not only me who has enjoyed and learned in his lectures, I have heard other past students who had course with nadir spoke the same. He clearly lays out the expectations and ask you to work hard for. Loved your smiles in class. -The point charge!
Not clear on his expectations and his office hours are only once a week for an hour in the middle of the day when no one is available.
Before this class, I never understood physics. He's an incredible prof and really cares about his students and his course. The lectures were interesting and relevant and he's super sweet and funny. He prepares you well for the tests and marks generously. If you're taking physics, take it with him.
Great and enthusiastic lecturer who makes physics concepts interesting and easy to understand. In other physics courses I took the highest marks I would get were in the 70's because I found physics very difficult to learn - but in this course my grades were up in the 90's. Highly recommend this prof, he's funny and an amazing teacher.
Incredible proffessor. Nobodu comes close to him at MRU. He is an amazing lecturer this course. Take physics with him.
Excellent Physics teacher and would highly recommend for any course that the instructor teaches. Engaging in class demonstrations which provides real life application for physics to develop interest. Excellent job!
He makes the content way too difficult, and it doesn't help that he speaks in very VERY broken English so its very hard to learn and understand. Doesn't answer emails and has terrible office hours. The examples he does in class do not help whatsoever with the assignments. Would NOT recommend this prof.
His notes are excessively long and doesn't explain them very well. They make no sense and he teaches the class as if it's a physics course. Talks all class long and picks on students a lot. Gives assignments with unclear instructions and sometimes have nothing to do with the course. Would not recommend this prof!
Nader tries to be funny to keep class interesting, which he's successful at. He's a very good physics prof although he can get a little distracted when he brings demonstrations to class. He cares about students doing well but I found when I emailed him to ask a question he wouldn't understand what I was actually asking and not answer my question.
Amazing prof. He really excels in instructing the class, providing positive learning atmosphere. He simplifies the concepts the way students understand. I never thought physics could have been so easy to grasp, with him, it was . He is excellent in demonstration and I think he should be teaching our labs as well.
Not accessible outside of class and kind of screwed me over on a grade. I'm a communications student, so I wasn't keen on taking a science class to begin with. I worked really hard, got good grades, but I misunderstood an assignment and he gave me a zero on it, also wasn't very helpful in explaining why.
Really nice, approachable and knowledgeable instructor. He was excellent in explaining the concepts we needed to learn. He tries to relate what we learn in class to real life situations which helps a lot in understanding difficult concepts. He teaches you how step by step think through problems. Excellent feedback.
Best physics prof ever!! I've had terrible experiences with physics instructors, but Nader is an absolute legend! He's so passionate about teaching and his way to explain the hard concepts in physics is amazing. His writing on the blackboard teaching style made me follow everything correctly and when the midterms came I was ready to ace them!
I really enjoyed being in his class last semester and will be recommending him to others. Doing work on the board was a good idea vs power points, loved it for physics course. Nader is an awesome prof. He knows how to break down the hard questions to pieces! He made sure every student in the class understood the material does follow up checks.
Very kind, nice and approachable. For a class of calculus dummies, he teaches mathematics with pace and passion. Recommend him to others.
Although I had Physics with him few semesters ago, I remember him asking us to write on a paper how we learn best and a bit of our background in Physics. He then somehow tuned his teaching style to help all of us. I have never had a teacher do this to consider our thoughts. His lectures were amazing. Recommended strongly!
A wonderful professor who makes physics more exciting. Everything is explained clearly and related to real-life situations, making the class interesting to be in. I strongly recommend him to anyone taking physics. No complaints.
Nader is by far the best professor I have ever had. He makes physics enjoyable and fun and importantly so easy to understand. His lectures are full of exciting demonstrations which upkeep the class in positive atmosphere. He has an awesome sense of humour. He always cheerful and always willing to help! Genuinely a nice person!
If there is anybody at MRU who is expert in teaching, definitely Nader is among them. His classes are fun to attend and full of scientific laughters. He grabs attentions easily and draws a clear pathway in how to succeed in his course. Highly recommended.
Professor Medhi is nice and knowledgeable. However I found he was extremely unorganized, all-over the place and uncommunicative. He tried to use iClickers but that was kind of a fail. I constantly tried to email him and set up office hours but he's terrible at communicating. Quizzes and work aren't too hard.
Nader is a good professor, he cares about the student success. His lectures are a bit disorganised and he sometimes gets confused with his material, but he tries to make the lectures interesting and gets the students participation during lectures. Nader is available outside of class to answer questions and he really enjoys feedbacks.
My experience with Mehdi Dehghany was terrible. He's is a very poor communicator and organizer. I got zero on two of the major assignments in this course because the submission instructions were so unclear. Those marks really cost me. I would never recommend this guy as a prof. That's all.
One of the greatest physics professors I've ever had! Explains concepts very well. I originally hated physics but he completely changed that! Would highly recommend. The assignments are clear and straightforward and his questions are derived from textbook questions.
Nader is one of the most effective and talented lecturers I have had the pleasure of being taught by in Mount Royal. His use of examples and illustrations, as well as bringing in things to class to keep things interesting is truly something I wish I saw more lecturers do. He is a great instructor, provides a friendly environment for student.
very easy to do well in his class but he is not a nice guy. went to see him during office hours bc i didn't understand a concept and felt like he was making fun of me and laughing. takes 2+ weeks to get ur mark back. Learned most of the topics through the powerpoints instead of his waste of time lectures. Take his class if u need a GPA booster
I found Nader to be very condescending and not the most effective lecturer. His overall teaching style is dry and hard to follow at times. Taking a GNED is supposed to be a somewhat easy course but because of his lack of direction, I spent most of my time and energy on teaching myself the material. AVOID!
I'm sure he's a very knowledgeable man and a decent professor however he is just such a dry lecturer to the point where it is a struggle to listen to him. I cannot tell you how many times he says the word "um" in any given lecture. It is genuinely such a struggle to listen. I can't absorb a word he says.
Nader's online teaching skills this semester were sub-par. I struggled to understand the content. When students asked questions or asked for explanation, he would often just repeat the question. Not helpful at all.
very caring prof. had him for physics lab, he is very helpful and explained things that were not explained in the lecture, and explained it very clearly. cared a lot ab students learning, and was accessible outside of class as well. would love to take him again!
He has not been a super professor, but he does his job pretty well! For his class, attendance is definitely necessary otherwise you wont pass his term tests! Overall I liked it very much.
This guy is super! He truly loves what he is doing. Nader encourages and engages you in his amazing lectures very well. He sometimes answers to emails instantly like Facebook! Expect heavy assignments and lots of readings as he clearly lays out this expectation at the beginning of the semester. Strongly recommended for a Physics course!
I am having him as GNED1101 prof. He cracks me out with his hilarious but relevant examples of the course contents. He is an active teacher, barely stands static! Very engaging lectures. I like livelihood of his lectures! Useless Box! hahaha... that was funny!
Nader was very helpful throughout the course, and I genuinely learned so much from his lecture and class. Before this, I never thought I do well in GNED course. He makes the class interesting to be in. Nader is very light-heated and considerate, as well as a fair marker. I strongly recommend him for gned courses. He replies to email instantly!
Really knowledgeable, truly cares about his students. He connects the contents to real life examples very well. Strongly recommended.
Not the best. Didnt give out correct notes, alot of the examples he used were wrong. Exam was closed book, cumulative with no formula sheet. He was ok, but the course/final SUCKED
At the beginning of the semester, I wasn't sure whether or not I would enjoy this course because I do not like numbers and equations. Nader made lectures interesting and tried to engage everyone in the class in a friendly way. When I approached him with concerns about an assignment, he was very understanding of my situation and aided my learning.
He is a listener to students with special needs, came to rescue me when falling behind, very caring and also handsome! His course is very structured with modules and the expectation from each module is clear! Highly recommended for those who want real caring gentleman as prof!
He is extremely accommodating and always offering help. He does respond by email fast and even returned my email question on weekend. He's very kind and nice person and professional, made all the concepts very easy to understand and did an excellent job at teaching them! Very organized slides and shows us the plan at the start of every class.
Nice guy and knowledgeable, explains concepts way beyond the labs and lectures with real-world applications. I recommend him 100 percent!
Really nice and knowledgeable prof, easy to approach and talk! Very patient when asking question! I recommend him if you are not hating math and geology for this course!
He does a great job encouraging engagement in an online learning environment which is rare from many professors! his Astronomy course is very well-organized, easy to engage and follow his passion and simple to learn. Nader is a very nice professor. Recommended!
Nader was a great prof! He made concepts clear using online programs, videos, or other means. Even with this online course, he was accommodating but with good reason. However, some questions on tests or from practice came out of nowhere. Really enjoyed this class with him!
He has been by far the humblest, most caring and knowledgeable instructor I have seen in the last two years at MRU! His GNED lectures are heavy, but easy to follow and organized. He asked us how we want him to lecture. Never had this before in any other class! He set clear expectation at the beginning of the semester.
Nader shows a great deal of enthusiasm and really does his best in making this class a more interesting topic. Nice guy, very funny who makes the class interesting and tried to engage everyone in the class in a friendly way. When I approached him with concerns about an assignment, he was very understanding of my situation.
A wonderful professor who makes this course more exciting. The class was very well-taught and the professor was always available for help in-person and by emails. He did review for the final exam very well!
I am a returning student to MRU. I had him for a Physics1201 course back in 2018 and I remember he was an excellent instructor. He did his best to ensure his students succeed in his class and I still remember how much calculus he helped me to learn! He had amazing engaging lectures. Highly recommend him.:)
Nader is a very kind and knowledgeable lab professor. He does great job explaining concepts to students and relating concepts to real life examples. He can be a little intimidating at first, but he is very approachable and welcoming. Recommend him as lab professor!
to GNED students, TAKE IT WITH HIM! He really knows what he is delivering and tries his best to keep students aware and interested. Nadar's explanations are clear and exceptionally organized on board (much better than other instructors!), his D2L course is well designed and always willing to lend a hand to the students who are struggling.
This guy is awesome! Excellent teacher who enjoys teaching and takes interest in his students, always ready to help. His lectures have demonstrations which is a plus.
Nader is type instructor whom you like in lectures but not for exams! His exam are relatively hard and covering almost any bit of even his discussions in class. So, a good note-taking habit will go a long way in his courses! Would recommend highly if you like to learn in a fun way!
No doubt that he is knowledgeable and runs lectures organized and smooth that make you wanna attend! He is cool in lectures, but tough in exams!
SUPER FUN AND COURAGEOUS! STRUCTURED LECTURES AND NEAT SLIDES WHICH HALP A LOT! HE GAVE BONUS MARKS IN THIS COURSE.
His teaching style fits any student who is willing to take good notes in class, not mine! you will probably enjoy his state-of-art traditional teaching skills in running an early-morning class with fewer students. always prepared for his lecture with few demonstrations, slides are organized, easy to follow and read, TAKE GNED WITH HIM, wont regret.
Great instructor who understands needs of students and cares about them a lot. went to his office and he summarized a full lecture! very engaging lecturing and he grades fairly but be aware that he does not give much extension on assignments!
Mehdi made this class engaging and approachable. With clear expectations and a caring attitude, he was always available to help. While the content could be challenging, using resources like unstuck AI alongside the textbook really helped me grasp the material. Overall, a great professor and course.
He made the class so much more enjoyable, It was a pleasure being in his class. His board writing is very organized make it east to take note and stay engaged. lectures super good but heavy!
Reasonable midterm and final exams, always on time for lectures and caring about your learning in lecrures. Heard he is teachiingmath literacy, I will be taking with him.
one word, amazing prof! Really excels in instructing the dry topic to class and providing opportunities for students to learn and engage. He is very thorough and tries to relate what we learn to real life situations. His slides are very clear and he provides lots of time to comprehend the concepts. You can see he is caring for the students.
He made course content, which is very diverse by BTW, easy to understand and conceptualize. The slides included a good amount of examples to further support the ones discussed in class. The examples in slides were also easy to follow and memorable. Nader made every effort to help us understand the topics and explained everything in an easy way!
One of the best professors at Mount Royal for sure. He really cared about his students and about what they are learning, and really wants them to do good. He is pro to make an early morning class joyful to attend. His demonstrations keep everyone interested in lecture. He always makes meet with students if they are need to. Amazing prof!
I have never had a teacher so enthusiastic and organized than Nader. His diagrams and structured lectures make learning fun especially for a class like physics which i have never taken before not even in high school. He brings demonstrations to class which is rare at MRU! take physics with him, you wont regret!
hands down! he is one of the bests! Take physics with him, makes you laugh and learn! no joke!
Medhi was a good prof in this difficult course. He provided many examples in lectures and went over every equation in the formua sheet which was awsome. His tutorial sessions are very helpful, different from 1201 I had. Wasn't hoping even for a C, but got an A-.
Excellent prof! provides lots of help with assignments.
He was not only very passionate about the course materials, but also a very experienced and organized professor. Comes in on time and stays after lectures for questions! His way of teaching made course modules very easy to understand. He took survey of how we want him to teach which was very caring. never seen in other courses!
A caring instructor with passion about science. He spends abundant time on topics with lots of examples. Grades fair and gives feedback. All you want in a good instructor you can find in him.
He is pretty cool when it comes to assignment extension, hands on math and science. take it with him.
He KNOWs his stuff, explains everything very well, gives very good practice. However he does pick on students that do not pay attention in class and puts you on the spot sometimes. However he is very great, great commincator, great teacher overall.
He makes difference in your science appetite! He is knowledgeable of what he teaches, makes the contesnts less dry and more fun and positive to learn. I took with him two elective courses, enjoyed both.
He teaches smoothly in a structured way, module by module, each one with different topics. He makes you like even hard concepts with his magic and fun teaching style. He cares about his students giving lots of time to complete assignments. Term tests moderately hard. Overall, If you want gpa booster, take it with him.
Truly a passionate teacher who engages class. His solid math and science knowledge plus his remarkable teaching style and the support he provides goes beyond the class. extremely friendly and approchable, take advantage of his office hours. Great prof!
a real caring prof always making sure his students understand the concepts, very engaging class never fuss a bout attendance! term test are challenging, but overall an easy course with his method of teaching. gpa booster!
you can barely understand him, and half the stuff we learn on the final review for the final exam wasn't even on the actual exam. i'd give him a 50/50 typa rating. he's decent
