Nader is very patient and takes his time to explain the course.
Nader wasn't terrible but definitely not my favourite prof. I think taking this class in-person would have given me a much different experience. The term tests were much harder than the class activities he'd give us beforehand. If you're taking 1101 online be prepared to teach yourself lots of the content & definitely make a friend or two for help.
I don't understand how a professor expects quality work from a student when they put little effort into teaching. Course documents and tests were littered with spelling errors and even had wrong answers. I realize that online education can be tough for the professors but the unprofessionalism in this course was very disappointing.
He seems very enthusiastic about what he is teaching. Very kind and willing to answer questions. You definitely have to know the material in order to do well but his tests really aren't that hard if you actually study. I saw that someone said he makes spelling errors. This is true but I'm sure he would clarify if you asked.
He has no idea what he's doing half the time. He seems lost quite often and confuses himself and his students. He loves using apples and chickens for examples in class. Overall, if you pay attention to his slides/use the textbook you will be fine to learn the class on your own. He is a nice guy though, just not the best at teaching.
One of the worst profs I've ever had. I asked for his help on multiple occasions and never got a response. Numerous spelling errors in tests and assignments. Often confuses himself and others. Takes a month (literally) to mark assignments and gives minimal feedback.
He was the absolute worst prof I have ever had. When I would walk to his classes I wouldn't look both ways as I wanted to be hit. He gives zero feedback, zero outlines, and zero assistance outside of class. He rushes through class and shows you the slides for three seconds before continuing, he doesn't "teach" you anything. Do not take this course.
Very confusing and frustrating to be taught by him. Does not care about students learning.
He explains concepts very thoroughly and is available anytime you'd like to ask a question. What's also super important is that his lessons are super organized, as I was never confused on what type of content I should have to know. Would 110% take another course with him again!
DO NOT TAKER THIS PROF FOR YOUR PHYSICS LAB!! I was stuck as I had no other better options. He seemed best out of the worst when it comes to choosing lab instructors. Docks marks for things that make no sense. Even if you make the best effort to do everything correctly, he will go all out to grade you badly. Too bad there is NO good option for lab.
I genuinely dont get why the reviews are so low. He's one of the best profs for gned 1101. He makes sure every student understands concepts before moving on, has homework so you can practice for the exams (which are not a surprise he's very fair). overall great guy. just go to class and you'll know what to do
Had this prof for a summer course at UofC. Engaging prof, absolutely cruel tests. All my friends who took it during the regular winter term said he made the content 1000% harder and the class's grade reflected it. Every time he uploaded assignments he would have to edit it at least twice due to mistakes and sometimes wouldn't tell us he edited it.
His slides are full of grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. Also, he likes to complicate straightforward concepts to the nth degree. If you take his course, using Youtube as a supplement is a must.
Nader wasn't bad but also was not good, a couple grammar mistakes, lenient marker but does not provide good feedback, his term tests are online no need to worry about tests being in person-unless otherwise. gets a little confusing on how he explains concepts but you also have the textbook to help you. no midterm, only final & in class activities.
Worst professor ever! He never responds to his emails and takes forever to grade things. This is NOT the class to take if your looking for a gpa booster! No midterm only assignments and online tests. The online test are completely different from what we learn in class. Not a very nice teacher.
His accent made class really difficult and I couldn't understand him majority of the time.
He is funny in class but the course work and weekly quizzes do not prepare you for the final and do not adequately show you what is important in the class to learn. Unclear grading criteria with unclear feedback as well. Textbooks are not necessary for the class. Does not answer questions very well.
Great class! Thank you!
Nader has been an excellent professor! He was always willing to help in any way he could inside and outside class. Any questions that I had about the assignments were answered fairly quickly and in great details, Thank You! He has very organized lectures which helps him actually explains the concept well. Great prof! Recommended.
Nader is a great Physics instructor. He is knowledgeable provides lots examples that are explained in great detail. He uses class time wisely and at the same time, he makes class entertaining. Nader gives break time midway through the class so the students can relax. Nader is wonderful professor, strongly definitely recommend for Physics courses.
Very nice guy, also funny. But his content is so confusing and random it will make you cry your eyes out :(
The topics are random and confusing. The quizzes and assignments are difficult and have lots of questions that were never taught in class. Would not recommend taking this class unless you are strong in math and science.
Nader is amazing Professor. His content was slightly random, but he taught everything so well and always made sure everyone understood everything.
Nader is nice and funny person but the amount of homework especially for a GNED class is above average. Emailing him about homework is a pain,he either replies very late that it's so close to the deadline or he does not reply at all.The notes are all over the place and very hard to understand. On quizzes and homework, the topics were not in the note
I am honestly very pleased with Nader, his teaching style is engaging and structured with built-in-easyness to understand. Because of him and his teaching I attended class every single day! As an individual retaking this course, I can say with much ease that he is a far better instructor than my previous instructor. I would love to have him again.
The worst prof I have ever had. Was so subjective when marking. Never cared about his students and when he didnt want to show up he would email the class last minute (an hour before class) saying that he is 'sick'. Woul never ever take this prof again.
Nader is an amazing professor. His lectures were always helpful. His teaching style is the best. As long as you are attending the lectures, you can easily get an A. He always respects his students and is very supportive. I would really recommend to take him for GNED 1101. He is amazing and you can never be bored in his lectures.
One word, a real Amazing prof! Nothing but respectful, approachable caring and friendly. You can see he is there for the students, tries to accommodate everyone's learning habits.
Easy class. Showed up to less than 25% of classes and still got an A. Term tests are online but study cuz they can be hard. Prof marks things late, other than that he is good. One assignment in the course which was easy. GPA booster class.
Nader provides a lot of examples of the topics he covers in class. He excels in fostering a friendly environment for students to ask questions and communicate. He is very organized and lectures are well structured and scheduled. he comes to class with a positive mood. Overall, he is a great professor, very nice and fun!
Nader is very interactive with his students. 70% of grade was technically open-book as it was all take-home quizzes and assignments. He marks em late but ends up giving A+. go to the lectures if u wanna do good
He does heavy lecturing with lots of homework! The bonus is that he comes prepared for lectures, covers concepts with many examples and asks if students are grasping the material or not! D2L is very organized!
He was a nice person but not the best professor, his weekly D2L quizes has so many typos and confusing grammar which lead to incorrect answers. The quizes are weighted very highly in the final grade while the assignments that actually made sense and took two weeks to finish were only worth 2%...
Mehdi is one of the best and most talented instructor I have seen at MRU so far. A course like astronomy has such a dry content, but with him is a joy! He is hero in bringing things to class to keep lectures interesting which truly something I wish I saw more. He comes to class with a positive attitude and is an extremely patient person!
Nader is a really good professor. His lectures are never boring and they are always fun to attend. His teaching style is really good. I really like how he writes on the board instead of just reading off the slides. He makes sure that we understand. He is a great professor and I would definitely recommend him to anyone taking GNED1101 course.
good job
Nader is a great lab instructor. He is comfortable with the lab materials and the concepts being taught. He uses lab time wisely to address the shortfalls of the lectures. I genuinely learned much from his lab rather than the class!
Overall he is a great instructor, provides a friendly environment for students to ask questions and engage. He is organized and lectures are well scheduled. He comes to class with a positive mood and explains astronomy like you are reading a story, connected and concise!
He is a great prof, super charismatic and makes class fun. I did find it frustrating when he takes his sweet time posting quizzes or assignments, giving me less time to do them when I have other homework to worry about. I also find it kinda crazy how the entire class is open book and come the final and we get no formula sheet. (final is also 30%)..
Nader is an awesome prof! His in-class demos and examples are very helpful and really contributed to my understanding of the dry astronomy content. I was worried about the course at the beginning, but it ended up being such an enjoyable class i loved it! I guess his other classes are fun to attend as well.
As a non-science major student, I would say Nader tried hard to make Math as simple as possible. He has tendency to include everyone in his lessons, which I liked. He helped me tremendously in this difficult course!
Professor Nader is an exceptional educator who truly cares about what you learn in his class. His teaching style is engaging, informative and inclusive, creating a supportive learning environment that fosters growth and understanding. His final exam was exactly reflection of what he covered in class, so participation matters! He is not easy marker!
He is a true academic mentor who celebrates his students achieve! He provides individual support if you ask and also lenient when it come to rounding up your final mark! His D2L was easy to navigate through, unlike most of other profs at MRU!
He was always explaining and was neither too fast nor too slow which made me understand better and clearer. He was also very good at answering questions.
The GNED1101 with him was a wonderful class, very fun, interactive and engaging. His teaching style was my favorite on board most of the time, classic, efficient and very informative!
Funny, engaging lectures, but often talks too much about things that matter very little. Practice assignments have (so far) covered little of what matters on the tests, which are HEAVILY weighted (about 48% of your final grade for 6 unit tests, and 30% for the final). No practice work is posted on the textbook website at all. Doesn't prepare you.
Nadar is always available if you ever need extra assistance outside the class. I was able to go to him three times so far! In class, he makes sure to go over concepts in details and in organized manner. If he notices that the class has trouble with concepts or questions, he goes over them in–depth with patience. So far, one of the best classes!
Deghany is a good prof so far, I found his lectures engaging and helpful as he uses stories to explain topics, making it easier to understand. The course is based on class activities and term tests, but they're relatively easy. He's accessible outside of class; email him beforehand, and he will break down the concepts in a way you can understand
does a pretty good job in his lectures and he is funny (keeps you up and awake in early morning classes)! Participation matters as he uses class discussions in his online exams!
He is a good lab professor. He explains the concepts from lecture very well and incorporates them into the lab components. Everything that you study on the lab manual and everything that you do in class with him is essential to your foundations. Everything you are tested on is also everything he has already provided.
Made the GNED1101 content easy and straight forward. If you anirmalky are stumbinling in math and science, he is the one turning you around. Hilarious and easy marker!
He doesn't explain concepts well and when you don't understand he will pick on you and call you out in-front of the whole lecture hall. I tired emailing him for assistance 7 times over the course of the semester to which he didn't reply to any of them, and guess what, you have to email him to book office hours but no reply means no office hours.
Ready-to-help type of guy! easy to talk to and get extension on assignments, no pop up quiz, amazing but long lectures, he does not even miss a minute of class in his lectures! math and science is his expertise as he teaches physics labs as well (I had it with him this fall). never bored in lectures and is fun to be his student!
His slides are awful, doesn't teach the material or tell you what is on the final leaving you unprepared. I went to every lecture and actively put effort into this class, due to his teaching I put more work into this class than my actual classes related to my degree (Im in nursing so this is saying a lot). DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF.
I got a A+ on an assignment and he wrote in the feedback, "COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER" in all capitals, what does that even mean in regards to getting an A? feedback was not helpful, and was not clear in assignments or teaching. awful prof
I'm not really a morning person, but his 8:30 AM classes kept me awake. His lectures are always interesting and never boring. The grading was based on a few online quizzes, a midterm, and a final exam. The course is pretty lecture-heavy, but if you pay attention in class and go through his slides, you'll definitely learn a lot.
Nader is an amazing person. Contrary to what some people claim, his lectures go over EXACTLY what's going to be on the final exam, and he even tells you some specifics to focus on. The final exam practice he provided had much of what was on the actual final. He teaches really well and efficiently and he's funny as well. He's a lenient marker also.
He is very knowledgeable about physics and his passion is teaching it. He teaches concepts on board at the begin and then comes frequently to tables to make sure students understand the procedure. When he noticed we had mistakes, he took time to explain it which was awesome, better than lecture prof! He is one of the organized profs at MRU!
He is such a gentleman and caring gned instructor. The way of his teaching was entertaining and engaging. He gave clear instructions for class activities and feedback to students. He used affective examples in lectures to explain the concepts in a way that made them easy to memorize! He is perhaps a very good math and physics instructor.
Very lecture heavy so attendance IS mandatory. We didn't get a formula sheet for the GNED 1101 final which really isn't his fault and tbh his lectures and notes were so good I dint even need to buy the text book to pass the class but he uses 2 and one of them is online anyway. pretty much helps u with the entire stats assignment, overall chill guy.
the course itself is bad and this guy makes it worse. He takes it too serious and takes forever to respond to emails.
he makes lectures a little more fun, and teaches very clearly. It is easy to get an A in this class as long as you do the homework and tests, and focus.
talking loud and clear keeps you sharp and attentive in his lectures! he was an awesome professor and great guy, respecting students and answering questions in -person and by emails. He is very good at teaching difficult concepts in easy way.
hi baba its me datis, your cool
Dr. Nader is an excellent hands-on teacher who adjusts to individual learning styles. Nader is very engaging and funny! you feel added value when leaving his lectures. He expects from students in return to stay on the course work and study. online tests are really similar to topics he covered in class, no surprise!
Mehdi has made this class very interactive and upbeat. He shows a great deal of enthusiasm and really does his best at making this Gen-Ed class a more interesting topic. He tried to engage everyone in the class in a friendly way. He's good at being approachable and available outside the class. his d2l was very easy to go through.
NO! Took 1101 for a 3hr lecture 1x week, and had 6 assignments, 6 tests/quizzes, 1 project and then the final. A friend in HIS same class, same semester x2 a week had 1 assignment and 2 midterms... He can be nice but talks SO LOUD all class and was passive aggressive when answering any questions... Do not recommend...
Nader is an awesome professor. He knows how to explain every topic of the course although topics are ranging from logic to finance and geology!. He made me like lectures and really enjoyed this course. He provides lots of help for assignments. Thank you Nader. :)
I have had two courses with him. His enthusiasm for the topics and humor was a joy to learn from in both courses. I wouldn't have been able to do so well if it was not because of his willingness to help me. His office hours are just extension of his lecture. His math/science knowledge and the way he teaches are exemplary!
Nader's style of teaching lab is very stimulating and he is very passionate about teaching physical concepts. He is very organized with nice writing habit on board as well. He checks on you to make sure that understanding is correct and complete. Take lab with him, he will make you love science!
Dr. Nader is clearly an experienced and organized instructor. His lecture are well organized with clear learning goals. He welcomes you to class which makes a significant positive impact at the start of lectures! I never took science course before, now I have second thought!
Amazing! I recommend taking his class; attendance isn't mandatory as long as you finish the activities (all online) and read the slides. You can tell he cares about his students and makes class fun with jokes as well as even adding in relatable scenarios to help with understanding concepts better.
Dr. Nader was good but, class is lecture heavy with just slides, but does draw on the board for visuals and does engagement activities. Gives opportunities for extra marks. Test heavy, but clear with the layout, no surprises! Attendance and participation was mandatory, he does mention some information in class that are not on his slides, so beware!
I really liked this prof. The class has hard moments, but he made it significantly easier with his in depth lectures, and many resources. He was accessible outside class, and was always willing to answer my questions.Should do most of the readings for best understanding, and show up consistently to avoid falling behind,as that will happen fast.Recommend.
Nader was awesome! Normally I'm a serial class-skipper but his lectures were always very engaging and interesting so I always ended up going. I'm usually pretty terrible at math too, but he made the material easy to follow. I 100% recommend to take him for physics!!
His way of teaching is really making top hard contents easy to understand. Him taking time after lecturs to answer questions was really good and showed he cares. Will take any course with him!
Taking this course for the second time and being a third year biology student, I should say that Nader is the best professor I have had so far at MRU! He doesn't only give the best theoretical explanations in lectures, he also gives real world examples on every equation in the course, giving many chances to learn and does not just deduct marks.
Real gem of the mru physic department, give lots of homeworks and drags you in the course for good. Attending his lectures is important as exams have questions simiar to examples and discussions in class. Take with him if you want gpa booster in physics.
I usually don't like marh or science as it is hard for me to focus on, but nader turned it for me around with his superior approach. His classes stimulate an average student like me. Recommend him if you buzz off classes a lot, he will make real change in you to succeed.
Class consisted of a midterm, a final, lab portion, and 6 assignments due every friday (tutorials helped you solve them). Nader is a very generous marker. If your confused on a concept, make sure you ask him about it. He breaks down tough concepts so they are easier to understand. Put in the effort and you'll get a satisfactory outcome.
Nader was really good in stuff he was teaching, cares alot and shows you how to be human calculator. Class activities and term tests are easy. Final exam has no formula sheet but it is across all gened courses. He makes you to like studying!
He sound tuff on the first day, but really nice thru semester, consistent topics, hand on math and really caring and passionate. Take with him for an easy class.
He is a human calculator! Loves science and makes you lovin it too. Passionate and approachable. assignments are easy to get good marks for, termtests are a bit hard but still manageable. Hope for an A range mark!
Very content heavy, stay on top of it, he answers some questions in class. Final exam was pretty intense (cumulative). However, he is a good prof and explains in a way that is easy to comprehend and remember, even if you dislike math/science. He interacts with the class quite frequently which makes lectures more engaging. Hard to reach w email!
chill guy with sense of humor, cares for students success, assignments are easy term tests are tough to get good marks.
Very passionate. Sometime unclear and makes mistakes on his own work which makes it hard to understand (it happens).
Very wonderful prof. He kept the class engaged and is friendly and fun. 48% of the course is online tests once a week, 15% is assignments which are easy, and 10% is an easy excel assignment. No complaints, very easy course if you pay attention. Never really had to practice or read textbook
Nader is a great prof for science based course. He explains hard concepts in no time. He allows mistakes in assignments and if you find and correct it, he will give you mark. Best prof so far this first semester.
He's a cool guy and always ready to help! His lectures are heavy, class activities are easy, term tests are moderate and final exam was hard! Be ready to study outside the class time though and get help from him during his office hours! strongly recommended!
