acc 3200 is just hard, period. ozbilgin is supposedly the best professor for 3200 and i agree. he's a funny guy. gives a curve at the end of the semester. 2 midterms, 1 final. my 2 exam grades were in the 70s and i did horrible on the final. i got a B-
I concur with the previous comment. Cost accounting is just difficult when they're basically cramming two semester of work into one semester. Ozbiligin is a great professor and if you're taking cost, look no further.
He is funny, nice, caring, helpful, and his notes are better than the notes of other Cost Accounting professors who just provide students with slides. He goes slowly and you should really study the quizzes. Very nice and helpful.
he is jerk dont take him

He is the best cost accounting professor in Baruch and he is very understanding. He is blessed with the gift of teaching and I can honestly say that if it wasn't for him I would have to change my major.
his notes are very helpful, even did not read a book. plus he is funny.
He is the best for Cost. The class isn't hard but the exams are tricky. He gives great slides, great notes, and really makes you understand the material. He's cute as well:)
One of the best profs in the accounting department.. very helpful in getting you to understand the difficult concepts.. tries to keep class fun with jokes.. tests are hard so you have to study.. But highly recommended!!
He is just great. Clarifies concepts nicely and cares about students. I'd highly recommend.
One of the best profs in Baruch, and hands down, THE best in the acc dept. I'm still amazed that I never read the book or did any hw yet I learned more than in any other acc class I've ever taken. I wish he taught financial, too. The dept desperately needs more teachers like him.
ok prof
deff one of the best professors for cost. this class is pretty tough, but he explains everything clearly. the tests are departemental so its not his fault. He emphasizes in class what to concentrate on. Read his notes. deff recommend him
Oh just shut up. He is the best. Explains very well and he is funny. Year, maybe there was one day when he kept 5 minutes more (which I don't remember). By the way last thursday he let us go 15 min earlier. If you are complaining about this professor then maybe you just need to quit college...
His class is so BORING!! He tries to be funny but he's not. Overload of info.
Info. overload! Boring Class!
Cost Accounting by is a challenging course but at least this professor explains everything. I highly recommend him.
Excellent professor, caring and helpful. I do not understand why you guys give him 1-s for clarity or helpfulness. He has nothing to do with "hard" exams, they are departamental. You should be thankful to have a professor like him.
he expalins everything but the class is difficult itself. Study his handouts and you should be fine.
Best prof ever. Even though the subject is pretty easy to me, this guy really know how to teach. he's funny, teaches well and gives nice handouts. 25% of exams are right out of the practice quizes. If you know how to do the quizes, you shuold get an A in his class. Plus, his classes do better than o
He is a nice guy, and helpfull after class. The subject itself is very difficult. So you have to study. Teaches from the slides. The test have nothing to do wih him. Doesnot give any extra points. But if you take him & this course be prepared to study
Cost is a lot of work, but if you take this prof you wont regret it. HE IS THE BEST PROF for cost. Dont listen to any of these lazy people. Once you study, you will certainly get A. Very good prof.
This class is crazy!! Too much workload.. also, he can't teach at all! He tries to help but he really can't! So take other prof who can explain the material!!
He's great! Cost is hard so you'll have to study on your own regardless of which professor you take but if don't let the workload scare you, you'll get this guy!!! You will really and positively get him; he's great!!
He is nice and good at teaching, make things clear! A good prof. for cost. However, u have to do ALL the online quiz!! very important!
The course itself is hard, but his teaching makes the material bearable. Says jokes in the class sometimes. However, you still need to study hard in order to ace the course. Final exam is very tough even though all exams and in-class quizzes are departmental.
All the exams in this class are both, departmental and unbearable. He puts a lot of effort to help you understand the material. Class is difficult but it's not his fault. He actually tries to make it interesting. I wish he was teaching other classes, I'd definitely take him.
This is the most difficult acc class i have takenn so far.
He is very good and clear with his lectures. have to do a lot of work outside class. he made me love cost accounting

Some students who dropped cost acc one or two times ans scared me to death that it is a very hard class. It's not true at all. I love cost and mainly due to this professor. He is very clear and helpful. However, you have to put your as.. down and study a little bit. Stop complaining about professor, he does his job.
Very difficult. don't curve or give extra credit. Exams departmental.
Unlike others, he lives up to the title of "professor". Extremely helpful, passionate about the subject, determined to see you succeed on the test and on the job. Very serious about the course, very intensive class sessions. Does his job to the fullest extent, and manages to entertain you as well. You are going to get your money's worth.
Very hard Professor. Doesn't curve. Have to study very hard and read not only his slides but a book as well. Professor Fried is the best for this class.
He is wonderful. Very clear and passionate about his subject. However, he doesn't make the decision about the grades or the tests. Study as much as you can, that's the only way you can pass this class.
everyone said that he was the best professor, I took him for all the rates below. However, I figure out that there isn't any easy professor in cost. you have to study on your own, do all the hws and online quiz or whatever, it doesn't mean that you can get a A in this class. if you have chance, take cost in the summer, coz the exam in summer is a l
For the students who wnats a good gpa after taking cost...please stay away. First of all an A is impossible. Yes he is a good professor and tries to help with course material but not with your grade. He never has no idea what will bw on the exams and futher he don't give partial credits like other professors. If your answer is wrong, that's it.
The course work is very hard and he goes over it too fast! Be prepared to take notes for the entire time you're there.
He is awesome. No doubt cost accounting is a demanding course,it's hard to get a easy professor. But u have a choice to find a helpful one, and here he is. He understand things so well and keep clarifying the mistakes that students make. He is very helpful and kinda funny as well. Otther than Sarath, anther good Cost Accounting Professor here!
Took his class once and Dropped it. My own fault, didn't study enough...it's a hard class. Took Him "Again" this semester, bc he's the Best dam Cost acc Prof Baruch has. Bar none. He'll teach you everything you need to pass. Relates to Students, and does his job at the same time. He knows every student by their first name. Study, you'll pass
Yes he is a great teacher, but how will that help you with your grades. He doesn't curve, no extra credit, and there are no cheatsheets. You are better off taking Mason, our class average is 78 while Mason's is in the 90's. I am in the B range, if you take him make sure you study really hard.
Excellent Prof.. explains soo well. but no extra credits, not even partial credits.. It's departmental exams,,whatever department says , he does..take him, u will enjoy..
Excellent educator, play by the rules, warm human being; but tough at the same time. No cheatsheet, no curve, no extra credit. Easy lectures, very hard departmental exams. He is very helpful, but you definitely have to work extra hard to keep up with the material. The hardest class, but the BEST PROFESSOR!!! Take him if you plan to study hard!
Awesome professor. Breaks things down so clearly that the book is not needed for his class. His notes are excellent and easy to follow, just do the online quizzes to prepare for the exams as well as his practice exams and you will do fine. Cost accounting is a class that requires logical thinking and it isnt always easy but he makes it clear.
he seems like a nice person, but it doesnt help. Grading is very bad. No matter if you worked all the way trough the problem but got wrong answer, he doesnt give ANY partial credits. The last number is wrong, no points. Horrible. No extra credit that could help. 1/3 of the class just dissapeared after 1st test
HE IS A GOOD PROFESSOR BUT HE GRADES UNFAIRLY. A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT I KNOW INCLUDING MYSELF GOT GRADES THAT WE DIDN'T DESERVE BECAUSE WE DID BAD ON THE FINAL. I DON'T TAKE THAT'S FAIR SINCE THE FINAL WAS NOTHING LIKE WHAT WE DID IN CLASS! I SPENT DAYS STUDYING FOR THE FINAL BUT IT STILL DID NOT HELP EVEN THOUGH I WAS AN A STUDENT. TAKE ANOTHER PROF
He is the man, U don't need the book. Just go to class and copy all his notes. If u don't understand something, GO SEE HIM! This is a departmental class, so he doesn't make the exams. Exams aren't difficult if u DO THE ONLINE QUIZES! The final was a killer, only because I stopped doing the quizes. The hardest exam questions were from the quiz.
terrible & horrible. He should retire.
Very clear explanation. No need to read textbook. Online quiz is very crucial in getting good rate for the final. Practice the online quiz at many times as you can bc it's very helpful for the exams including the final. But attendance is very important to understand the concepts. Very good lectures. Best cost professor. U'll learn a lot from him.
Very hard grader! I spent a lot of time studying for the final but it was not much help because the test was so difficult. I would take another professor because he was not much help!!!
Hard grader, dept exams were challenging, but good teacher. Did not need to read the book, just be there for every class and understand his lectures. DO the online quizzes over many times. COST is easy, but the dept. makes it tricky. If you are lost, ask for clarification. I went into the final exam with an "F" and still pulled off a "C" somehow.
I had read on here that he was the easiest and best, but I thought that he went he went into more detail than you needed. You just have to concentrate on the formulas.
You need to show up and pay attention to every single lecture. Don't fall behind. Imperative that you do the online quizes and that you "understand" them. You really do get the impression that he wants his students to do well. Note: no partial credit on his exams .. not sure if it's the same for other prof's teaching this course. If so: not fair!
Great professor but really tough class. No matter who you take, its still going to be tough. Teaches well and is very thorough. Attendance is mandatory. Do all quizzes. Really stay on top of your work. This class is no joke. Good luck!!!
Professor Ozbilgin is the best acct prof and a great professor overall. You will learn a lot with him. The course is tough but not impossible. Do the examples given in the lectures + hw and online quizzes; all are very important + try to understand them...Don’t let the negative reviews here scare you. If you are a good student you’ll be ok.
Study the lecture notes, online quizzes and sample exams. Then you should be fine. Don't bother to read the textbook because he explains everything clearly in the class. The exams are not easy but A is not impossible.
Really good teacher. If you read the lecture notes and do the online quizzes you should do fine. Also do the end of chapter questions and read the textbook once.
He is a very good Professor, best for this class. I was not happy with my grade - but that was my fault, I underestimated final exam's weight. Definitely take him if you want to learn something, but study hard. Class is just not the easy one.
This Professor is one of those good ones. He is good at explaining things, and keeps us awake by randomly getting louder, and also telling jokes. The class isnt easy, but not many ACC classes are. Take him if you actually want to learn something. Highly recommend him!
this professor has extremely clear teaching style, tests are hard, but if you practice book and online problems - very doable, overall it was an enjoable and useful class!
IN ONE WORD HE IS AWYSOME. I TOOK HIS CLASS AND FOLLOWED WHATEVER HE TOLD US TO DO AND I ENDED UP WITH A. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
The class is hard whoever you take and very time-consuming. He will prepare you BEST for the tests with his clear explanations and comprehensive notes. Just come to class, listen carefully, enjoy his jokes and do all the assigned problems on-line and the book. If I got an A, you can too.
VERY HARD class. he tries his best to explain the topics and you understand everything except when it comes to the exams. They are really hard and long. Not impossible to get and A but you must focus all your time to the class. He is very good at teaching the subject and explaining but overall the material is hard.
The problem I had with with this class is the exams are departmental and test you on material or concepts not covered in class, and require use of you "intuition". Prepare to devote more time to this class than any other class in your college career. Very easy to fall behind, and very hard to catch up. He is monotonous, raising his voice now & then
MY BEST TEACHER
This professor teaches very well and knows how to explain the material very well but the case is not the professor its the class itself, its very time-consuming. If u wait and study at the last minute u won't end up with a good grade just like what i did and i ended up dropping the class. So its better to study the material after each class and do
The best accounting professor at Baruch. I didn't even take the final yet and will probably fail the class but I just want to say he is amazing, funny, caring and tries very hard to make people understand the topics. Exams are extremely hard. Need 100% of your time. They're dept. exams. If he was teaching it in the summer I would take him!!!!!!
Well this professor is not that bad. He explains the materials very well and very interesting and funny too.Well exams are departmental and you need to study each material after each class because if u wait till the last minute you wont get a good grade just like i did and i had to withdraw from the class. Its a hard course so....... Study
The best professor you can get for cost! He explains everything so well but you also have to do your part and study as much as you can! The best advice I can give in doing well is practice, practice, practice! Do all of the quiz problems as well as textbook problems and you should be fine!
Don't cry for failure, cost accounting is very very hard, and his exams like other prof in cost, are just the same. He is a good prof, he knows his stuff, and available for questions, but cost is just something that many people needed to take at lease two times.
we are really crazy about him. and he is really magnificent ever seen. he is so easy and he has very clear teaching style.so you must take your course from him.when i go to the his class im trying to be fashionable due to his hot stylish!!!
Very decent, helpful professor. Come to class, follow his explanations and practice, practice, practice!!! That?s the key for this course. He curves in accordance to overall class performance. So try to stay on top :)
the best acc prof in baruch...his examples helps so much to understand the subject matter...cost acc is a hard course..but with prof Ozbilgin its very fun
Still waitting the final grade. Does anyone got the final score already ? Or did u get any email from him? Thank you.
Extremely helpful. Very clear. Great teacher! Despite a huge auditorium, he seems to be all over the place, trying to clarify material as much as he can. Creates very positive atmosphere in class. Take him, and you will not regret!
This prof does teach the materials needed it for the course. His lectures are detailed. ONe thing I don't like about him is that he would call out and give you a WARNING for eating in class. Its distracting but sometimes people don't have the time. Also they don't want to miss his class so they plan eating during the lecture. He is a little WEIRD !
The class was so big (more than 200 ppl i think) that i was having problems hearing and understanding what the professor was saying. He might be a good teacher but my experience wasn't that great. I could not fully learn the material in the class and had to study a lot on my own to really get it!
Insane. Went into the final with an A. Ended up with a C. Inexplicably hard. Other professors are easier. Disappointed.
For non-ACC majors who just want to get this mind bogglingly useless class out of the way w/ a good grade, TAKE HIM. He is the man. No need to open the book, just study slides before exams, do the 10 online HW's and you'll be fine. Sample MT and final EXACTLY like the actual exams. MT super easy (median grade A-), cummltv final was very fair too.
He has good teaching skills and explains material very well. However, he had very bad attitude to me. He was not helpful and when I asked questions, he answers were rude and make me not to talk to him anymore. He's kind of arrogant. :(
He is a good teacher. His methods are very straight forward. You need to practice a lot to get a good grade. Final was very hard. He is a very helpful person overall
Class is easy overall - you just need to do practice tests problems & you will get an A. Midterm & Final (all calculations), 10 HWs and mandatory attendance.
Straightforward lectures, 2 exams (midterm was not difficult, final was hard), online HW's and mandatory attendance. He also gives practice exams and if you study hard you will get a good grade.
Great professor. He breaks down the information to make it as easy for you as possible. Very helpful. You will get an A if you understand practice problems.
It's clear that Professor Ozbilgin enjoys teaching and is somewhat good at it. His class is inherently hard though. His midterm was somewhat challenging and tries to make some questions tricky. The final was much harder. My advice: do the homework, recitation questions, read the book, and go to class and hopefully you'll do well.
All this professor does is read off of the slides. You will not learn from going to lectures. Make sure and teach yourself the material, as going to him for help will be the same as reading from the textbook.
Hardddd. Sitting in a 400 person lecture watching him read accounting material off of powerpoints is NOT beneficial. Midterm was a KILLER, average grade failing and he didn't curve. Final hard too. Spent hours trying to learn the material myself with no payoff. GPA Killer-my worst grade in college. Watch out.
I'm not sure whether it was him or the fact that there was 400+ people in this class but I did not learn anything. It was practically impossible to ask him questions, esp. during class. Midterm was hard, most people failed but he did not curve. Final was a KILLER though. I still think he's one of the better professors in the department though.
Will set you up to fail. Straight up! The midterm features advanced problems not prepared for in class. The problems he uses in lectures and reviews are easy. Brush up on financial accounting if you want a high grade in this class. You will be ambushed.
Boring class, boring subject.
Took class online, did great on homework and online assignments because you are able to reference the book. Midterm and Final in class, mult choice, show work or no credit. Hard to get in contact with via blackboard better off emailing and you will rec. a response in 2 days, the structure is not well for this class and needs to be revamped ! AVOID
I understand this was a difficult class, but i felt that the class was fair. First, 45% was online(homework, learnsmart etc) and the rest were in class(midterm 25% and final 30%). All you have to do is score the 45% online which can easily be done, and at least get 15% from the midterm+final to pas(60D)s. 15/55 % is easily attainable if you study!
There are a lot of tough classes but the problem with this one is that Practice tests for midterm and final are Much Easier than the actual tests! 7/12 considered to be a really good grade, so it's Very Unlikely to get an A. If you have to take him, I would recommend to get all 45% of Online HW and maybe this way if you Study you'll end up with C
I am not a number person , but I am aware of that and try hard. The practice test for midterm and final were actually easier than the exams. I just tried to pass the class so I do not have to take it again. Be ready to spend extra time to study beside the recitation and the actual class
Material is tough, you need to devote a lot of time to it. One midterm, one final. He gives practice versions but the real thing is harder. Try to think of alternative questions for the practice material. Bonus homework at the end really helps/counts towards grade. The online portion counts for a lot, don't miss it.
This was an online class. 45% was the online hw and the other 25% was midterm and 30% final. Midterm and final were in-class and very hard! I recommend doing ALL the online hw to get that 45% so you have some cushion room when studying for the exams. There was also an EC hw offered at the end which helped a lot. Do it even if u have all 45% of hw
Stay away
Horrible TEACHER, he doesn't know what he is talking about in his lectures and extra hard exams, DO NOT TAKE HIM OR YOU WILL REGRET!!!!!!!
10/12 of the midterm questions were the same as the practice questions documents he uploads ( numbers changed ) and about 10/16 on the final were from the final review. Not sure why everyone says the real exams are much different and more difficult. The class is all online and he is helpful on the discussion board on black board to help with hw.
Unrealistically hard exams. Can't go to specific points in the lecture videos, can only watch from beginning to end every time. As non Acc majors the fact that we are forced to pay for this useless class secondary accounting class is dumb enough. Fully online makes this class harder than it should be. AVOID like the plague
Although this was an ONLINE section, Prof. Ozbilgin does a great job on the narrated slides he posts on blackboard. If you do your HW on connect, study those slides and do the practice test before the midterm and final, you should be fine! The exam questions are very similar to the HW and Connect questions. His explanations on the slides are clear!
this class was very doable. all the online hw's totaled 40% of your grade, and it was pretty easy to get all those points. The midterm had about 10 or 11 of the same questions (just different numbers) as the practice he gave us. The final had about 10/16 that was the same. SO honestly, you will be okay as long as you read the tb. ALSO,extra credit!
Completely online class, with in class midterm and final. He took questions from the sample exam and connect homework, but some questions were more difficult than that. Didn't touch my textbook at all, only did practice questions to study.
This is an online class and almost everything is done on connect. The connects for the most part are easy. However the midterm and final are in person and completely ridiculous. Our midterm this semester was 12 multiple choice questions and our final was 16 multiple choice questions. No room for partial credit. Class is ridiculous.
Class was not difficult per se, however it was a lot of pressure. 60% of your grade is based on 28 multiple choice questions. So if you get only a few wrong you are out of the A range. 90% of the test questions were the same as the practice tests just with different numbers. Questions were all numerical based.
Don't miss any homework because you CANNOT submit them late and it counts for 40% of your grade. The other 60% is based on the midterm/final. The midterm/final were all calculations. Majority of the questions were from the practice exams. But be sure to study the homework questions as well because some of these questions can show up on the exam
RUN!! Super hard exams for non-accounting students. Only covers 1-2 exercises in the review similar to the 12-15 in the tests. the fact that is fully on-line makes it so much more difficult. Do all the homework and you'll barely pass the class with some minimal luck in the tests.
Fully Online Pros: You go at your own pace & don't need to attend recitation. Cons: You go at your own pace (you need to have good time management & be strict with yourself). Advice: Don't freak out, just get things done ASAP. Do all your HW & go to tutoring center at least 1x per chapter. Get tutored 2x before each test. Don't need to read hw.
The whole class consists of textbook reading and Connect assignments. The professor doesn't even do anything; no video lectures, no supplementary help. He gets paid to write a syllabus and that's it. I honestly don't understand how this is an actual class Baruch offers because I paid for a whole class only to learn from Connect. Thanks Baruch.
Doesn't really do anything except grade the mid term and exam. You're basically teaching yourself with the textbook and Connect assignments. No lectures or supplementary notes by the professor. You can't even email him, as he directs all the work to the recitation professor.
Lots of ppl said that this class would be so difficult, but honestly, if you do all the HWs and practice exams which he posts on BB, A is possible for this class. The midterm is 12 questions and the final is 16 questions, both exams cover the practice exams most likely, but some of the HWs as well. He gives us the bonus HWs before the final
Connect Learnsmart and HW assignments, 1 midterm, and 1 final. The tests were all MC, but there aren't that many (12-16 Q) and you get 2 hours. The questions are more calculations and less conceptual. The practice exams are very similar to the actual exams. Go to the Discussion Board if you need help. If you put in the work, you will pass.
Since this was an online course, hard to say what Prof. Ozbilgin would be like as a prof in a classroom. Regardless, his voiceovers showed the depth of his knowledge and his replies to emails and assistance showed his dedication to the class. He makes the online course easier to handle than many of my inclass courses. I'd definitely take him again.
Professor Ozbilgin has been helping students to successed during this course. He was always responding promptly on our questions about homework, sending us informative emails and so on. I loved the course overall and, especially that's available online.
Was an online class so not sure how the professor himself really is, but the two times I saw him in the exam rooms, he seemed to be a really caring person based on his words. He posted all the assignments in the beginning of the semester and provided helpful review sheets that without them, I probably would have suffered in the exams.
Do well on all the homework and excel projects. Do his review sheets. His exams are somewhat difficult but if you understand the hw youll be fine. Hes quite responsive to emails as well. Decent class for acc
GPA killer . During this whole pandemic he didnt care at all. Homework Heavy and doesnt know how to teach. Constantly tells us if we where to read the textbook we wouldnt be doing this poorly. If your trying to get an easy A because of this pandemic run away. He doesnt curve and changed up everyone's exam so no Cheating.
You wont learn anything and score low on the exams because of it. Hes so rude and not responsive via email fast. The whole transition to online was horrible and he didn't really care of any personal issue due to the pandemic. Do your self a favor and take another professor. No curve btw.
This is way too much for for this class. All he did was move a due date for the pandemic, that's it. No sympathy for what students were going through mentally. I went into the final with an A, and got a B overall. The review sheet and mock exams were pointless. Extra credit was given, but had to work hard for that as well. I would not recommend.
He doesn't care for students! Didn't do any accommodations during pandemic "because it's online class, we continue as planned". Poor lectures, just reads slides and puts up recording. You have to teach everything yourself, tests are 5x harder than review, and no curve. Homework is mostly theory and statements, while exam is only problems. GPA Kill
Based on the emails and Blackboard posts, he struck me as one of those professors who took pride in failing students. The exams are nothing like the homework and review sheets; the prerecorded lectures don't prepare you for either exam or assignment. It felt effortless on his part and based on most reviews here, this has been a pattern for a while.
Took this class this summer. 2 exams, one project, HWs, and bonus HW question. 50% on the exam and other 50% on HW, project and learn smart. To be honest, you have easy 50% on your hand and the Bonus HW question. HWs are easy but exams are not that easy. if you learn and understand the concept. This class is an easy A. Do bonus HW question!
ACC2203 is HARD. Very HARD. Number one tip? GET THE FREAKING BOOK AND READ IT. THEN READ IT AGAIN. This class builds on ACC2101 which was already a hard class and takes it to the next level. Expect and online class with online homework and exams. Prof. Ozbilgin is ok, very responsive and provides help through slides etc. Final exam is hard!
Connect and learn smart hw is easy. Tests are extremely difficult, around 12 or 16 questions. Not clear on grading for exams. Cant believe we pay money for an accounting class, and we arent even accounting majors. Hardest class Ive ever taken.
You have the typical weekly homework from Connect. You have to watch the recorded lectures that he posts with the slides to learn. Midterm and Final are difficult, comprised of 12-14 questions. It's a typical accounting class from Baruch and you guys are well aware of what that's like. Self-taught.
Similar to the 2101 setup with 2 exams, weekly connect hw, and SAM. Exams are 12 questions (final was 14 questions bc 2 were bonuses) he gave bonus questions, curved the midterm, and an extra credit hw bc of tech issues during the midterm. Keep in mind this wasn't tp be nice, it was compensation for tech issues. Exams are ode hard. I got lucky tbh
Midterm and final worth 25% each which is generous compared to some other accounting sections. Beware because both tests are extremely difficult. Failed the final and still got an A- which was fairly lucky. Make sure you watch his review videos and do the problems with him. Good luck, you will be teaching yourself.
He is fine just watch the recorded lectures and do all your homework--it is similar to the 2101 Acc class at baruch they have check my work on the homework dw--but the midterm/final are really hard. But I am going to be honest its not that bad, like if youre an okay student you'll be fine.
Exams are hard.
We only got extra credit after the midterm bc there were tech issues so the dept compensated us. The midterm and final are really hard (and only 12 questions so the individual questions are worth a lot). The hw setup is similar to acc2101 with weekly connect assignments and SAM. The way I studied for the final was by doing the practice questions
Long lectures and practice questions that are nothing like the exams.
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! IF YOU DO MAY GOD HELP ME, YOU WILL BE CRYING DURING THE EXAMS
It was an Asynchronous course with weekly assignments that would be on Connect. Long hws that were time consuming. Midterm and Finals were pretty hard but if you go through the review sessions the questions end up being pretty similar. Not someone who personally likes Accounting but the class was not that bad.
This was an asynchronous class. Got an A by just reading the textbook and doing its practice problems. That is how you get a perfect score on the Midterm and Final, whose questions are of harder difficulty than the HW. Exams are 50% of your grade. The exams are only 12 questions each, hence the importance of doing many practice problems from book.
This Class was Asynchronous online which make it hard to grasp the information. If this was an inperson class it would have been easier to grasp the information but the way how it is online you have to watch the lecture recordings a few times to understand
This is an asynchronous class so you will have to teach yourself. He's very nice and lenient. He offered an extra credit homework assignment and curved our midterm and final. He tried his best to make sure students don't fail. If you want a decent grade, try your best to get 100% on Connect and Smartbook, and study the practice midterm/final.
This class is hard, but professor Mehmet is a solid choice. He gives a lot of resources for study and extra credit, which helps a lot. 50% of the grade comes from homework, smartbook, Sam project, and tableau project, which is a big help. The other 50% is midterm and final. He has the grade distribution for students to pass.
Actg can sometimes feel overwhelming, however, his planning ad organization made it easier to handle. The course challenged me to improve my critical thinking, analysis, and understanding of actg in a managerial sense. I enjoyed his method of teaching and enthusiasm with the course. I learned the content and had fun in the competitive kahoots.
This class is about being diligent, attending class and staying on top of the homework-if you do those things it will pay dividends and as the semester advances Professor Ozbilgin helps complete the homework in class so attendance kills two birds with one stone. Truly a lesson in "80% is showing up."
Professor is very strict with the dateline however that's what you need to keep on you top of the material . Managerial accounting is not an easy subject but Professor M.O is the right professor to succeed. All you have to do is show up in class keep consistent with your connect homework and assignment, make sure you get 100% on all your work
Managerial accounting is not an easy subject but Professor M.O is the right professor to succeed this subject. All you have to do is show up in class keep consistent with your connect homework and assignment, make sure you get 100% on all your homeworks ,you can still pass his course based on his syllabus is design. He is a great professor
Professor M.O has his own teaching method, he makes complex calculations easy to understand. He is the right professor to succeed this subject. No matter which subject you study, the final grade you get is related to whether you complete your homework on time and pay attention to the class. Do more questions, you will easily get a high score.
This class was online, but I didn't attend class really. Just did my exams and assignments. I remember when I did attend his class, it would be really boring. Maybe because I have no interest in accounting. He's not who I'd recommend but you'll get by fine if you take him, not too too bad.
I took his online class this summer. He records all of his lectures. Class attendance isn't mandatory, but you should go for the extra credit kahoots. Half of your grade is based on the HW and Smartbooks completion which both have unlimited attempts. It's an easy pass if you just put in the effort. He responds quickly to emails as well.
I don't know what he sounds or looks like. It's just connect nonsense where you do simple math with a few rules. The test is just connect homework with different numbers and stories, so just actually do your homework or just paste it into a different doc.
He's alright, class is boring and you have to teach yourself for the most part which sucks since its such a hard course but everything was online so thats a bonus.
It is really hard to keep up with lectures because a lot if it is overlapping so usually you end up teaching yourself. Other than that his tests are fairly straightforward and he does curve them and provide extra credit.
defo take him instead of the fall sem acc prof. Mehmet is fairly nice and likes his students, and is helpful when you reach out. weekly SB and connect hw with check my work. if you do all your hw on time, you can get a good grade because mid and final is 17.5 each so theres not major pressure like before. This class is hard so study consisently
I never attend his lectures since they are recorded, got an A just by doing all HWs and get decent grade on midterm and final. He seems like a pretty average professor, but his grading criteria are so friendly, HWs are 60% of the grade, exams only weighted 17.5% each, plus he provides curve and easy extra credit that equals to 15 points on exam.
I only attended a few lectures and never watched any of the Zoom recordings. Just do the homework, make notes, and you'll easily pass. He also gives extra points on the exams. Lectures are sometimes a bit boring.
He's a great professor. He's very nice and wants you to do well in the class. He makes it easy to pass 60% of your grade is HW, There are quite a few of them but you get unlimited attempts. As long as you do well on those and decent on the exams, you should pass. I failed this class before with a different professor but got an A with this one!
Overall a great professor and a great class. For a class as difficult as accounting, the professor provides plenty of resources in and outside of class. Additionally, the grading layout of the course is primarily based around the homeworks. As long as you do the homeworks on time and stay on top of the course material, you will do fine.
Honestly, he is an alright professor. His lecture is straightforward and he's helpful when explaining different topics of cost/managerial accounting. The exam is online, but you can get more out of his class if you do the connect homework/sb. He also give out extra credits which is a boost. Do the work, and you'll be ok. Trust.
Good professor... just show up, take notes, be competent, and you'll get an A
Don't take him at any cost he is the worst these ratings are useless. Most of our class failed his class. He is too much, if you wanna take him take him at your own risk if you wanna fail and retake this same class in your summer time.
Professor Mehmet makes accounting easier than expected. His lectures are straightforward, and he provides plenty of resources. The grading is homework-heavy, so stay on top of assignments. Unstuck study is a great study tool alongside the textbook and class materials.
I took your class last semester
He's pretty passive aggressive. The class is assignment heavy and he doesn't give extensions. The class being online makes it manageable but him as a professor is meh. You can definitely do better if you're looking for more of a supportive professor, if that's your preference in a class.
His exams are difficult and only asks 10 questions with no curve. Doesn't teach properly or help students the way they need it. Absolutely no curve so you're on your own to get a grade that won't even satisfy you.
Disappointed with this class. No extra credit or curves like previous semesters, which felt misleading. exams weigh more compared to prior semesters. The final was 10 questions with “None of the Above” as every option—confusing and unfair as you go through the exam. Felt like we weren't set up to succeed. do not take if you value your GPA
This class was honestly very challenging and disappointing; despite it being online don't let it fool you. This professor offered no extra credit and does not curve at all, many will say just do the work and you'll pass and though that might be partially true, his exams are only 10 questions and they are very off putting. Would not recommend.
Professor Ozbilgin when teaching provides great real life examples to understand the content. The class consists of 2 midterms online and 1 final online as well. Homework and smartbook is on connect. He curved my letter grade as I was going to get a b- and he curved to a b. Overall, He is a teacher I liked.
The class is very difficult which I get but the professor doesn't help either. The final & midterm is ridiculously hard, 10 questions each one of the options is none of them are correct. It's easy to pass the class because the hw & smartbook is worth a lot. You'll need to self study alot. He gives 0 extra credit & curves ur final grade by a letter
It's pretty easy to cruise through this class without actually learning anything. Curved final grade by one letter, which is really nice especially if you had an F… exams are worth a lot and only 10 questions. Got a 70 on the final and midterm and 100% everything else, finished with a B curved to a B+. Average class, don't have to attend or learn.
You can get by with this class without attending class at all. His lectures cover nothing new outside of the textbook because he's a, read off the slide professor. Midterms and finals are 10 questions each. Good/bad depending on how you look at it.
light work, just be better
