Good teacher, cares about the students. Gives a programming assignment every class, tough, but he will help you. His teaching assistant grades the homework and shes tough.Overall a good teacher if you are looking to get into programming.

Fantastic teacher that wants you to learn. He made the class a lot of fun and was very fair when it came to tests, which he curves. Final grade in class is determined mainly by one's determination to do weekly program assignments. If you make a solid effort to do the programs, you will at least get partial credit. Nice guy, great professor, but what I learned can't help me get a job. Java is the new norm for programming languages and we only learned the very very basics of C++. Thanks for being nice, but that won't pay the my student loans.

One of the Best Professors at FAU and extremely smart no doubt. I would take it again. This class is not easy at all but if you study you can get an A. If you want to pass this class: Read the book (chapter by chapter, seriously! his exams are directly from the book), take notes and attend class. Don't forget, read the book or you wont pass!!

He was one of the best professors I had at Florida Atlantic University. He takes an interest in making sure you not only understand the information but applies it to other classes. He uses the text book, but does not assign busy work. Unfortunately, my major wasn't very heavy in IT courses otherwise I would have taken multiple classes with him.

This is one of the easier classes at FAU. Attendence isn't mandatory but helpful. This professor is laid back and very straight forward about what he expects. He genuinely has an interest for technology, which is a big plus for any class. And the textbook itself is very uncomplicated with exams/quizzes online; the material is definitely not hard.

Best professor in FAU. He makes his class super interesting and super fun. He gives out a quiz every week but you have almost an entire week to do them. He will help you out if you have problems taking any of the quizes or test. He's very straight forward and wants all his students to pass. You don't need any textbook.

really liked prof B and his style of teaching, You learn a lot from his lectures. I didn't like all the work that was involved in this class though. You have the lecture with 8 quizzes (easy), 4 tests (semi hard) and 10 journals (waste of time) then you have the lab and it has SO much work. Take this class if you're not too busy with work and life

Mr. B is the man plain and simple. You could tell how passionate he is towards technology. There is a lot of busy work involved, but if you are able to keep up with online assignments, you'll do great. Randomly gives out extra credit! Highly recommend him.

Mr. B was a super awesome and an incredibly understanding professor. Make sure you do his online work and you'll do fine. You also have opportunities for extra credit.

There is a lecture and a lab. Lab has projects, exams and journals. Lecture requires an online quiz each week. If you don't study the power points and read the book you wont pass the weekly quizzes. There is a ton of work with the class. It is not difficult material but it is very time consuming class. Great teacher, would take again.

He was a greater teacher, he knew his stuff and was pretty entertaining in classes, you don't need to show up, but he does sometimes give out specific answers in class. There is a load of extra credit, I went over 100. The homework takes time but is nowhere near hard. Labs are extra credit, with this teacher you can not fail.

This class consists of a lecture and lab. Lec has weekly quizzes and journals, lab has online excel work. He'll tell you what you need to know for the lec quizzes. I didn't buy the book, b/c I took him during the short summer semester, but I did ok. Pretty easy class, just time-consuming. Finish the lab work early and it'll be a huge load off you!

Take this prof!!!!! Good lectures, he doesn't take attendance but gives you a password for a weekly quiz or exam at the end of each lecture. He is soooo funny and very understanding. Wants you to succeed!! you will not regret this class. The lab is taught by a TA and is a lot of homework but its easy, just excel stuff.

He is very funny. Knows the material very well. Explains in a way students can understand. Gives a lot of cool facts in lectures. You need to go to the lectures to get the password for the online quizzes and tests. But also it helps a lot to go to the lectures. Quizzes and tests are hard even tho it is online. You need to study!!! But he is great.

ATTEND the lectures that is how you get the password for the quizzes/exam if you don't go he won't give you the password until you have only an hour left before the quiz/exam closes. he gives you a lot of extensions so if you don't pass its on you not him. his exams/quizzes are open book but I suggest studying because the time runs quick.

The professor is super knowledgeable, smart and funny. The exams are ridiculous. They do not test actual knowledge or effort at all but aim to quiz vague out of context quotes from the textbook. The work load is too much. Topic is interesting but this has been my east enjoyable class at FAU.

"Dr. B" keeps the class very interesting with not only good information and his knowledge but I found him quite funny and entertaining. Go to class not only for the informative information but he gives codes to take the quiz's at home and some things he talks about in class are on the quiz. I would definitely recommend him.

He is a great professor and very passionate about technology. He was very clear about what would be on the quizzes and tests. All quizzes are locked with a password and he gives them out during the lecture so going is advised.

PMBA student. Great professor! Makes a boring subject very interesting. Lectures are tied to current business problems and technology. Must read the book for the quizzes and test. This professor is an asset to the MBA program. You will leave with more knowledge about IT even if you are not tech savvy like myself.

I am an MIS major and I absolutely adored this class. Professor B kept it interesting, never a dull moment. Very kind and knowledgeable, have a question? ask it! He might give you a sarcastic answer but you'll never forget his answer! I would recommend this class and professor to everyone!

Coolest professor. He keeps the lectures interesting with real-life examples and tells funny jokes. Make sure you take every exam/quiz ( you'll need a password for each one, so attend the lectures), and do all of the lab homework!

Professor B is amazing!! I mean, why do you think he is extremely near a 5.0 rating?! Textbook is NOT necessary - just buy the access code. Answers to quizzes and exams are literally on the PowerPoint slides AND his lectures. If you miss a lecture, you miss the quiz password. You can ask him for the password, but he'll give it to you last minute.

Professor Basiratmand is the only one of his kind at Florida Atlantic. He cares for his students (hires a handful every semester, I'm one of them), always opens up quizzes/exams if you missed, and his hysterical to make the lectures more bearable. If every professor was like him, students would actually be excited for school, like they are for him.

hes a really nice guy, really good professor. class is basically online, all the notes and PowerPoints are on canvas so you don't really need to show up to class, you only really need to go for the password for the lecture quizzes he gives each week. its a really easy class, and you do need it if youre a business major so get it done quick.

This class was particularly easy, all test and quizzes (only thing your graded on) are online. He makes a lot of jokes, and will literally talk to the class not just lecture the whole time. At the end of every class he releases the quiz/exam password. and if you miss the due date for a quiz or exam and you let him know he will open it for you.

The ISM class is by far one of the easiest classes. There is some work in the lab you have to do. Gives a lot of extensions, grace and extra credit

He makes it a very easy class. Take notes during his lectures in class because he tells you what parts of the lecture are a quiz question making it easier to study. Professor B is the best for ISM! You should show up to class because he gives the quiz password at the end. There is one quiz per week and there are 3 exams in total. There is an extra credit opportunity if you pass the Excel black belt test at the end of the semester and he helps boost your grade if you are borderline. Definitely take him!

Watch the lectures in their entirety, quizzes are based on the lectures, SIMNET assignments are very spread out so you have enough time to complete. Mehran Basiratmand is one of the best teachers at FAU. He respects and truly cares about his students. The class is very easy and it is harder to get a "B" than an "A". Textbook not needed, but you have to get it for the McGraw Hill Simnet assignements. its long work, but super easy. Quizes are 10-20 question, lockdown, no camera. and the quiz are around 50questions, lockdown with camera. easy class though !

Dr. B. is wonderful. I had several family emergencies and he was so understanding, supportive and worked with me on deadlines. Great lectures and provides extensions on the assignments if you ask him. Very few like him at FAU. One of the best. He is very knowledgeable, and knows his stuff. Highly recommend him.

Genuinely a really caring professor and always pushes back quizzes or gives more time for people to finish them (especially with the hurricanes). Responds to his emails and lets you sit in on his lectures if there's room even when taking it online. You definitely need Simnet for the class. Not a hard class at all if you do the work.

Very caring and understandable towards students, he extended the deadlines for multiple quizzes and assignments whenever (technical, weather) problems would come occur. The SIMnet assignments are tedious, so make sure to start them ahead of time.

Professor Basiratmand had good lectures and was very accommodating. The homework was open for long periods so there was leniency for people with busy schedules.

The course seems to have a lot of students, and he must use Teacher Assistants for Excel. Do your homework and exams and you should get a solid grade. Dr. B. is truly knowledgeable and has exceptional experience in the field of Information Technology. I highly recommend attending his lectures and engaging him with various contemporary topics. He has extensive references and in my opinion, he is one of the top-rated faculty with the full understanding of AI and anything related to technology.

He is willing to help you pass. But you have to put effort into doing the work. If you don't put effort, he is not gonna help you. If he sees that you at least try, he will do his best to be there for you. Just be organized with the simnets and you'll do great.
