An excellent professor to take in the math department. In my opinion you will learn a lot of math even if you don't like it. He tries his best to make as simple for the students but that doesn't mean the class is easy but you learn

a great professor, i took him in summer 2004. I learned a lot- he has you memorize formulas, but overall it serves its purpose and working out the problems earns you points altough the answer may be wrong. Great teacher overall. highly recommended!!!

Attendance is optional but you will be lost if you miss class. Each section builds from the previous section. He is helpful but if you have too many questions he suggests going by his office or going to tutoring. Book is used mainly for homework. Very good instructor. His lectures are straight forward and he asks frequently if everyone understands.

i did go to class it was optional. be ready to hear "sucker","thank goodness", and "keep truckin".. haha.. good guy..lotsss of work. and his tests are all free response close to 14 problems. eh he was okay. i never studied, but the people in class were constantly studying. warning this is probably the hardest calculus course you will ever TAKE!

He was an awesome teacher. There is a lot of homework that isn't mandatory but if you do it you'll be more likely to pass. his test are free response but he gives credit even if it's the wrong answer! Very helpful.

This COLLEGE ALGEBRA course was easy for me. He explains e-v-e-r-y-thinig very well, lets you ask questions & then does 3-4 problems the next time from homework. Then moves on. You do have to turn in a paper @ then end of the semester, but no biggie! Recommend! Especially if you need more math, you'll be prepared.

he will help you if you need it but in summer it is hectic and no matter how much you practice it is difficult to manage everything all at once .If i had a better teacher I would have probably done better.

He's a great professor! I hate math and always struggle, but he made it interesting and has such a passion for it! He does get off subject, but not enough to hinder your learning outcome. He's great. The tests are exactly what he lectures. I would definitely advice you to take him for college algebra! :)

He is a good teacher but tends to go off topic and starts to talk about something else. He explains everything well, you just need to pay attention. He talks fast and sometimes gets annoying. He says " Lord have mercy", "Stupid thing", "Stupid" and other stuff, but he is a good to teacher to have for college algebra. He is also funny!!!

I took Professor Hassanpour for College Algebra and I LOVED it! His tests are not multiple choice, but with his teaching style, that doesn't even matter! 4 Tests and Final. Drops 1 test grade. I got three 100s and one 97! He made learning so fun that I looked forward to going to class! I recommend him! Danke Professor Hassanpour! Math IS beautiful!

He's been teaching this for 30 years!! Of course he knows what he is talking about! Great teacher and loves the subject which shows his passion during teaching. Yes, he goes off topic sometimes, but keeps you interested and awake. He will offer help after class if you have questions.

hes awesome! made me LOVE math. Hes funny, never boring, he gets off the topic but you will learn from everythings he says wether it be math related or not. he explains everything very well. he gives easy exams but you have to do your part ofcourse. Took his class Summer 1 an ended up with a B. He will teach you the technique and you must go home and practice what you learned because its the only way that you will pass. If you are a person who studies at home you will pass.

He was great! I took him summer session, which turned out very well. He did an EXCELLENT job of explaining the work. He graded fairly, and didn't give out too much homework. He had the tendency to get off topic during his lectures, but he was very nice and taught well. Take him!

This professor always uses the word "estupid" but he teaches well if you understand calculus. Do your homework which i did not do and that is why i gor a C. you should be alright if you study at home otherwise you will fail.

Great Professor! If math isn't your forte this is the class for you! I wasn't very good at math entering the class and I came out a mathematician. I strongly recommend him, the work load is small but you should make an effort. Its definitely not a BLOW OFF class, practice what he says and you will PASS for sure.

This professor is understanding, his lectures are a little boring. On some days he would be entertaining and some days I couldn't wait to go home. Just do your homework.

I would pray to get this professor again. His lectures give EVERYTHING you need to know. Write the exuation, and take good notes on how to solve the problem. SIMPLE. Do the homework the day before the review and you will have a great understanding for the exam. Exams are NOT multiple choice, but not difficult if you pay attention. GREAT personality

I never rate my professors, but this one was a must! He is an amazing professor, not only does he have a passion for math but you end up having one too!! You will enjoy his class, he takes his time to answer any questions and shows you step by step the new formulas. Just do the homework, ask questions and enjoy!!

Great professor. Shows all examples on how to work out problems but one must go home n do homework for practice if u expect to do well in class. Well I definitely have to say,this is the best professor I ever took. He is also probably the most helpful professor I had as well. There are five exams including the final. They aren't multiple choice but that doesn't matter. He gives you credit if you follow the right steps.If your looking for a great college professor, your search is over.

This professor is a very friendly and funny. His class is easy only if you do your part by practicing the math and learning it. I have taken both College Algebra and Business Cal with him and have gotten an A and a B when I sort of slacked off. If you dedicate time to math(homework) and attend class regularly, u will excel in this class.

one of the best professors I've had. class is not easy obviously its algebra but he does a great job at teaching. he explains well and makes it fun. don't miss a class or else you will be lost. he does not pickup homework but in order to learn you need to do it. if you fail this class its your own fault for being irresponsible.

This guys is very smart and he teaches really good, you have to dedicate time to his class if you want to get a good grade, he is very demanding which makes the course a challenge, i dont regret taking his class. Just study hard and you'll pass.

he is amazing. The semester before I took this class (different teacher) and dropped it. But when I took this class it was very good. He is funny, smart and knows what he's doing, and if you need help outside of class he will help you in his office. from dropping that class the semester before I ended up with a B+ with him. procrastinators beware

This professor was amazing! I had to drop Pre cal with another professor. And I took this course in the summer, so its at a faster pace, and I was able to keep up. He explains everything in simple terms. He's also enthusiastic about math, which makes you feel better about learning it.

Dr. Hassanpour was an amazing instructor. If you are lazy don't take his class. I don't regret taking him, he really did help me learn math. He shows you the stuff in a very clear way. He always says the word ''stupid'' which is really funny!

By far my favorite professor! Took the class in the summer during the World Cup, and soccer was mainly what he would talk about during class. Nice, funny, understanding, and a very helpful professor. Do your assigned homeworks and you shouldn't have a problem earning a B or an A!

I was nervous about this class, honestly after the first class with Dr. Hassanpuor I loved math and now it is my passion. The only thing is i wish I coukld take every class with him, but not possible. but I am thankful for the class i had with him. if you are willing to learn this is the right professor to take.

If you are gifted at math then take this class, but if it is your worst subject, like mine, I HIGHLY recommend taking an easier professor. HW and attendance are not mandatory unless you want to pass. One essay and he gives 5 exams total and drops the lowest, but these are the ONLY grades you get so if you fail the first two, you're screwed.

He's an amazing teacher. He actually teaches the material and makes sure you understand it. He has an accent, but you get used to it after the first day. I wish I could've taken him for Cal 2. You don't need the book to pass, but if you want to do the HW and get a better understanding, you need the book.

He is a great teacher! Helps you without a problem understand what you don't and he's so funny. He gives life lessons a lot and tells you about his own experiences. You only need the book for homework which you don't even need to do, but it helps a lot. Study guides are just like the tests. He doesn't ask for anything except no phones and try!

Great professor! As long as you study, do the homework that's assigned (won't take it as a grade but it's SO HELPFUL) and really try to understand the concept you'll get an A. There's not many tests but there's a lot of material to cover so be sure you don't skip anything when reviewing for the exam!

This professor was super fun! He would get distracted and talk about his amazing life stories. He is very energetic and loves to laugh. Took this class in the summer. 3 and a half hours of lecture a day, 5 days a week for a month with hours of HW every single night. Besides that, he is a great lecturer, very clear and makes concepts easy to understand. Tests are straightforward, like the homeworks, but can be tough at times. TLDR: tough class, great professor.

First time I have understood Algebra, EVER. Professor is very passionate and inspiring. I left the class with a new found love for Math. Go to class, do the homework, you will do great. 4 tests, lowest one is dropped. One final, one short paper. The homework is from the textbook. He does like to talk sometimes but if you listen, its INTERESTING!!!

I took Hassanpour for summer one this being the second time having to take Algebra and he made everything so easy. we did go threw everything really fast since it was a summer class. homework was assigned everyday but it wasn't for a grade just practice. passed this class with an easy A ! highly recommend taking him.

He issues out homework, but it's not mandatory. It's so that you can practice. He has 5 tests and one essay. He teaches great, but you have to pay attention. In the beginning, the class was 32, and at the end of the semester, it was 11. He doesn't offer retakes or reschedules. I failed the first 2 tests and that straightened me out to try harder.

For one, he talks a lot. He also talks really fast and goes off topic quickly so be ready to listen because the minute you snooze off you'll get so confused. He's an awesome professor most people don't enjoy him as a professor because they either don't show when you have to or don't pay attention in class. Once you understand how the problem is solved you'll be able to ace exams like nothing. I only got a B because I kinda slacked but that's besides the point. If you don't understand always ask.

Every time you attend class it is a different lecture & continues from previous. HW is assigned & discussed next class but never graded. He is engaging, amazing and allows time throughout lecture for questions. Very passionate about math and explains very detailed. Take notes, practice at home and you will PASS guaranteed!

I need to say this professor is great if you work a full time job. He is very understanding. You can learn everything on your own pace gives homework for practice. There will be 4 assignments, 1 written essay he gives you plenty of time to finish each assignment.

Mr. Hassanpour, is one of the best teachers i have ever had he awoke a passion for mathematics that i never realized i had. He is an inspiring teacher and a great one too. His class consists of him just writing problems on the board and showing you by example not just talk. I wish i could've taken him for differential equations but couldn't.

I took a summermester with this professor and although it was fast-paced, as a summermester is, I found it easy. I have been good at algebra in the past though. 4 hw, 4 quiz, midterm, final and '5' page essay (one page is cover page and one is work sited so really a 3 page essay) He wont out front tell you what you missed but if you ask he helps!!

i took professor hassanpour for pre-calculus during a minimester, and it went over super smoothly! i'd definitely recommend his class over the other pre-calculus teachers. i've taken this class twice (dropped it the first time because the other professor was terrible). he's very helpful! you just have to put in the work!

Professor Hassanpour's style is old school; text book and white board teaching. Very knowledgeable in mathematics. Put your work in and be in class to pass, (as one should). Have to remember all rules/formulas but his style makes you learn the material. Will help and explain further if one asks questions. Definitely would take again.

Excellent professor who gives plenty of examples and helps when you have questions. The other reviews are accurate. The course has 4 quizzes, 4 Turn in assignments, a midterm, and a final. If you don't practice outside class, don't take him. The quizzes are based on the "practice HW" you don't turn in. He is also a Super nice person.
