He's a very nice caring person! Anyone who talks to him after the class knows that he makes himself available to answer questions in person or on the web. But he's just not a good English speaker and teaches very slow. Classes are boring and he spends most of the time reading the slides that is obvious he's not well prepared for compared to other

Truly a great professor at UBC. I took him for the summer term, and learned a lot. He honestly cares for his students and wants to see them succeed, in the course and in their degrees. I liked his teaching styles and he always had time to answer questions at the end of class. He deserves to be a permanent professor at UBC.

Very caring of his students. Genuinely wants to see us succeed. Very active on Piazza and answers questions well. This was a COVID-19 term which was fully online. He used prerecorded videos and uploaded the slides. The videos were very good (although audio was not the best quality) and its easy to follow along with what he says during the videos.

Unprepared during lectures - spends time laughing at how he can't get the projector set up (some self deprecating humor may be appropriate at times, but when it cuts into lecture time that's an issue) Class never ends on time What truly tells the story is watching the in-person attendance dwindle over the course of the term

You can tell this professor attempts to teach concepts to ensure student learning. But at times, he makes learning quite difficult. I would say he is a person of good character, sometimes strange comments, and is actually not technically versed in using projectors and handwritten projections. TA is not helpful either.

Mehrdad explains concepts well, however his lecture style was not the best imo. He used the very detailed written solutions of the in-class worksheets as teaching material, withannotations on TOP of those very detailed solutions, which makes lectures really hard to follow and overwhelming. But, he's a very kind professor!

He is a very kind person but the way he gives his lecture and explains the concepts makes it difficult to follow in his class. A lot of the students I know have the same problem that we find it difficult to absorb what he said in the lectures because of the way he explained and we had to read and study a lot on our own.

Taking 330 with him in the past with no issues led me to taking his class again. But somehow he dropped the ball with gems such as the midterm will be like the midterm (with no mock or previous midterm to reference). When asked if the ref sheet can be double sided replying with "one page" and giving a MT with half the marks on a erroneous question
