She's a great teacher, very easy going and most of the time she ends 5-10mins class early.
She teaches a bit fast, and her accent is a bit thick at times, but I really like her. She is a good teacher. Be prepared to take LOTS of notes.
great teacher... grades easily... very specific...take her!!! you will love it . she is really a good math teacher and very cute!!
DONT TAKE HER.She doesnt know how to teach. She makes everyone work in groups. When you ask for help she makes you feel stupid.
I was extremely unmotivated about taking math until I took this class. After not seeing a math book in 13 yrs I found an instructor who made every effort to make sure the material was understandable. Amazing board notes that kept me from even having to read. If you are great in math or like I was you'll enjoy this class for what it is worth.
TAKE HER!!she a very organized lady. didnt have the chance to finish the class but learned alot from her. quiz every day(extremely eazy). she gives review sheets which are helpfull because they are similar the test! she reviews everything and is clear on the material..strongly recommend her she gives very good lectures and notes!!
She is a highly intellegent and knowledgeble professor. She makes you feel good about learning math. She makes the clss enjoyable and fun. I highly recommend you taking her class.
She really wants her students to learn and she will answer ALL of your questions. Her study guides are exactly what will be on the test so pay attention to those. I studied my butt off and got an A. She's super nice too!
She is a very nice lady and cares about her students. She explains things pretty clear and step-by-step. You only need the book for hw. She gives 4 tests and one of them can be dropped. Materials are not easy to master and you really need to do the hw. The test problems are extracted from hw!! Final is cumulative and worth 30%!!!!
This class was easy but boring.I didn't go to class because the prof was confusing, and I felt I could learn the stuff faster by myself and I got an A.Tests are from the book and study guide. She drops the lowest test, and if you get an A test average, you don't have to take the final. She's a picky grader, tho and takes many pts. off for small errors
Poor english skills. Unprepared for class. Syllabus was incomplete, only 5 lines with limited information. Unprepared during office hours. Arrived to class at the last second and left at the stroke of the dismissal time or before. Did not use her web site. To her, it is just a job.
She may have a heavy accent but still understandable. She writes alooot on the board so be prepared to take lots of notes. Test questions comes from homework/study guide so make sure you actually do it and understand it and youll pass the class with atleast B Shes very helpful and even gives extra credit points from time to time.
Bad english skills, unprepared and unhelpful. If you make an appointment with her during office hours, be prepared to only go over one problem. She doesn't have patience. Test questions come from homework and study guide.
If you can avoid taking this teacher... please do so! I had to study and learn everything myself because she is so difficult to understand and she really puts you down if you try to ask her questions... she makes you feel dumb!! I managed to get a B in the class with no help from her! Please do not take her... you'll be sorry!!!!!
don't take her class. she doesn't help you at all . it seems she only care about the good student.she teaches so fast and she doesn't care if you understand or not.
Overall Pretty Cool
if you need a good math teacher take her because she knows all the material .you just have to do your homework to do well in her class.Yes she does have an accent , but this is not an English class!
This is a good teacher. Be sure to take notes and do all homework. There is a lot of homework. I took this class on Saturdays for 4 1/2 hours and I don't like math but I did okay. She does go very fast and it sometimes hard to keep up so that's why her notes are so important to write down. Good luck!!
She is a good teach over all. She assings hw every class meeting, but collects them at the day of the test (sometimes she does and sometimes she doesn't). Sometimes you have to refere to ur book for more clarity. She is not the hardest or the easiet teacher. You do have to put effort in this class or in any math class. I would recommend her :)
teacher lets you know in beginning this class is hard. she bases tests on homework verbatim..if you do all homework which is basically every chapter odds you will do fine. she is very helpful..gives extra credit and reviews before test. highly recommend her. she is very nice and next semester you will be able to do work online.: )
very good professor. highly recommended. a little hard to understand sometimes but very smart on the subject. she normally teaches on sat.
K. 15% of your grade is based on in-class group work. FIFTEEN PERCENT. Groups of 3-5, turn in as a group and everyone gets the lowest grade. Some of these idiots can't even copy your correct work correctly. I never would have taken her if I'd known about this. It's her job to teach morons, not mine.
i want to start with saying DO NOT take her for trig unless you have to. SHE admitted her self she HAVENT DONE TRIG IN OVER 10 YEARS. you will survive, but expect to learn more on your own than her. ALMOST TOO MUCH WORK. you will spend 2-4 hr/week on her class. i can do basic calculus but i felt lost to point i wanted to drop.GO TO LEARNING CENTER
Good teacher, ok book. Come to class do the homework, practice the test section in the book before each test and you should be just fine. Pity that Almost all Math teacher rely on books with website that might make their life easier but cost 4 times an equivalent second hand book with no "web help".
Professor Rashidian was AMAZING! I totally recommend this course. Cirriculum is very structured. If you attend class, do your homework and study, you'll do fine. She is fair, very thorough and an excellent professor!
She totally favored some students over others and I could not figure out the reason. Favorites were allowed to make up missed tests and the rest of us were not. I would not recomend this teacher!
I don't know how she is for the algebra classes but I strongly advise you NOT to take her for math 240. WORST math teacher I have had in my life. I had no idea what she was talking about and I don't think she did either! Now I have to take trig again next semester cuz I'm dropping. And I'm not even bad at math! Don't take her. seriously.
too bad............
horrible teacher/ makes tests harder then should be, WORST teacher i have had
I've never seen anyone so stuck up. She uses tactics to scare off students, trying to get them to drop early. She moves VERY fast, without giving us a chance to breath and get familiar with the section. She assumes that all of us took the prerequisite for this class, and doesn't acknowledge that some of us got tested in here. I'm teaching myself...
She's really nice, helpful and her teaching style is concise and clear. I don't recommend taking her if you're a lax studier or a slow learner, but effort will get you a long way in her class.
she is very good she makes time before class to help you and offers tutoring in her office. she is also fair and reminds you when things are due. you use the book in class alot and you also use my math lab which i hated but overall she is a great teacher and i passsed and i am not good at math.
She is a good professor, expects you to work for your grade. The subject itself is hard but if you visit her during office hours, she will explain for you. Do the practice tests and make sure you do the online hws and quizzes because they count. DON'T miss a class or you will be lost!
She is the worst professor I have ever seen in my life!! Her questions and explanations in homeworks are different from what you'll see on final exam. Its just wasting time!! She never answer your questions in email!! Basically she doesn't teach you anything!!
Professor Rashidian is probably one of the best math professors I've had. If your not a Math person but need Statistics to transfer she provides you with all the resources you need to pass. She is always available to help and provides lecture notes and study guides that will make you successful on the exams if you do the work. Great professor.
You have to deal with 3 different lectures, the book, Pearson, and hers. Her lectures and her only extra credit is stolen from Csun instructors. Even though I had an A in her class, the cumulative test brought my score down to 79% and she didn't help me with 1% I needed to get a B. She focuses on giving everyone a C or less. STAY AWAY!!!
Rashidian is a good prof. Made everything clear. Four exams which she posts study guides for which is awesome. And a final, which you should study your previous exams for. Trust. Online quizzes and homework. I got a C which I won't complain about since math is hard for me . An A is easily attainable but didn't study as hard as should have.
Very good professor. Extremely professional and well educated in what she's teaching. She expects a lot from her students which is good, this isn't high school. She made statistics easy to understand and she cleared any confusion anyone had regarding the material. I would take her again
So she grades super strict, she will mark a test Q wrong just if its not written how she wants it. She's stares out the window as she lectures, she's very serious, tries to scare you, strong accent. Tough tests. Stay away.
Just took her Math class. She was not a kind one. She only seemed to like the smart ones only. I cannot believe she is still a teacher after all there years with her attitude. I had to drop her class because she did not help her students. Never take this professor! Pearson Math Lab was also a pain plus her bad attitude towards students.
This professor can't give a proper example on how to do the equations makes you feel lost. I really don't recommend taking her if you're trying to learn math.
Do not take her classes! She does not like helping students that seem to have a hard time. Wasted a month of my summer semester with the wrong teacher.
the worst professor and rudest person I ever met and had for class!!!!! Stay away from her if you want to learn SOMETHING take another profs!!!
Took her over summer and its a lot of work and fast paced but she's a really good teacher. As long as you do your homework and study in the class you'll do fine. If you ask questions she'll work with you until you understand.
Took this over a Fall semester and it was the greatest experience with an online math class! You practically do all the work, assignments, homework, and tests on MyMathLab and then take the final at Pierce College at the end of the semester! If you are going to take Math 125, take it with this professor!
Want a fast paced class where you'll be left breathless? This is it. She's the worst. She doesn't take her time teaching you. Onnly works at her own pace for herself. You're struggling? Yea mymathlab helps out more than this teacher.
Doesn't give notes or even teaches well.
Way too much homework!!! :((
With the rest of the math professors using mathlab/webassign it's refreshing to see a professor still using the book. Professor Rashidian is an amazing professor that makes you work for your grade. Attend class, do the homework, take notes during class and you will get an A. Half the problems assigned for homework are seen in the exams. Good luck.
explains lessons very clearly, and always welcomes questions! Never makes you feel intimidated when you don't understand something. Homework is assigned per lesson, but not due until the test. Tests are easy if you do the homework! Attendance is not required, but missing a lesson really sets you back.
Took it in Summer'18. All lectures were from lecture notes, plus online homework, so actual book wasn't really being used. The lectures were clear, lots of tips with loads of example and fast(of course, it was 5 weeks session). The professor was actually quite kind and ready to answer your questions and concerns regarding the course.
If you do your homework, you will BE FINE. This teacher is one of the most straight up and best teachers I have had. For a high level math teacher, this is as good as it gets. I don't understand why her rating isn't as high as it should be. If you do your hw, the test questions are much easier. She also give points for starting a problem and tryin
She teaches fast-paced which can be overwhelming at first, but as long as you do your homework and set aside time to study before tests youll be fine. Theres a lot of exams after each section and she grades a little tough, but you learn a lot through them. As long as you put in the work, youll be fine. She keeps her canvas and grades updated!
Professor Rashidian is one of the best calculus professors out there! She assigns alot of homework so be prepared to work in her class. She gives 6 exams throughout the semester, so be prepared to get tested. She explains it fast paced, but again, use her office hours, they save your life!
Prof Rashidian is straight up the best professor for calculus 2. She is extremely clear about her grading criteria and her homework problems are THE EXACT same as her tests. She throws in a few problems in her lecture notes as well, but if you pay attention and attend office hours, YOU WILL PASS!! 10/10 would take again
Professor Rashidian is one of the best professors at pierce for math. Her homework problems show up on the exams, so if you did your homework, her class isnt terribly hard. She is definitely one of the professors that I will remember. Take her, you wont be disappointed!
Professor Rashidian is an amazing professor. She really knows how to teach and cares about her students. She gives bonus question on the tests and gives partial credit. For calc2 we had 6 tests and a final. I highly recommend taking her :)
Professor Rashidian is truly one of the best math professors at Pierce for calculus II! I went to her office hours to ask for help/ talk about math and she was extremely friendly and welcoming. Her tests arent hard, literally just homework problems that she pulls and some lecture examples. Shes a fairly easy grader and gives you LOTS extra credit!
Summer Sess.: Lots of memorization of all of the different formulas. However, Rashidian covers a lot of diff. examples in her lecture notes so you get a good feel of what kind of questions to encounter! Most of the time, the HW seems much hard than in class ex. The tests were questions from class and the HW. Leave time to study, you'll be fine! :)
I really liked her a lot. If you do the homework and actually understand it you would easily get an A. It's not a course that you can study for the night before so study from a couple of days before and go to her office hours if you don't understand something.
honestly, she is one of the best math professors EVERRRRR! math 262 is hard so you shouldn't expect this class to be easy but if you actually do the HW and know how to solve the problems, you can easily get an A. She also gives one extra credit. the office hours would also help if you are willing to put the time and there.
Best Math professor
She is the best professor. Read, practice and practice. Go to her office hours she helps you. You pass with A if you do test practice she posted.
Must attend lectures. She is understanding. She adjusts the syllabus if the class needs it. she cares about her students and will take time to help them as long as they are nice to her. her tests are the class and textbook examples. taking her again for calc262. pay attention and put a lot of energy into studying and you'll be good
AVID THIS PROFESSOR!!! She make online class harder than on campus & Lots of HW & Harsh Grader!!
Difficult and just goes very fast enough explaining clearly, did not enjoy this class sadly.
so hard
I hate her teaching style so much.
Probably the worst math class ive been in all my life, unfortunately barely learned anything at all. Incredibly difficult and bad teaching.
Horrible Horrible experience. Just to put into perspective, Ive been amazing at math since middle school, did amazing in my high school math classes, and even thrived in Calc 1, Got As and B+ on my exams, however in this class I didnt pass any exam, the professor doesnt know how to teach any single topic. Save yourself, take someone else please!
Calculus II isn't an easy course so don't treat it as such, but she is an excellent professor. Very clear lectures providing tons of examples, responds clearly to questions, and super helpful during office hours. Straight forward tests/quizzes w/ extra credit. Do the homework, review lecture notes, and practice the problems and you'll do fine.
She is the sweetest woman and highly respected but unfortunately cannot teach math therefore I had to drop to save my GPA. Calculus II is extremely difficult and I understand that but at least for my learning experience she was not able to get concepts across through a screen. She's sweet but would not take her again.
Took calculus 2 with her at Fall 2020. Even we were online, she teaches everything clearly and simple. The way she teach makes me feel very comfortable during the zoom meeting, it's like we were in the real class. I like when she teach with a camera and writing with her own hand. Exam was easy if you study enough and A LOT OF EXTRA CREDIT.
Had this teacher for Calc 1 and Calc 2, and she is able to teach the material well enough, but some of the topics particularly in Calc 2 will be hard regardless. She goes very fast, with rarely anytime to actually take in the info you are writing down. The tests are difficult, wileyplus is awful, but she works with what she has.
Professor Rashidian is good at taking complex topics (well, as complex as Calc 1 can be) and guiding her students through discovery and exploration of these topics. This locks in a deeper understanding of the material, better equipping her students for further journeys in math than just "memorize formulas." An A+ teacher, strongly recommend!
We had an online class, and the way she did it was that you had to have open notes. But you had to strictly follow those notes, and if you used any other method, she wouldn't give you points. I think that was fair, but honestly open notes made the course really easy. However, there is a lot of work to be done in the course.
Made sure she gave you the opportunity to speak up in class if you did not understand the coursework
Absolutely loved her! Statistics can be very hard but she was really good at explaining everything thoroughly and always allows questions if you are confused. Not too much homework and tests at the end of every few chapters but if you do the practice quizzes you will pass because they are almost identical to the tests. Would take her again!
11 chpt. in total, quiz after every 2 chpt. (index card for every quiz), homework for every section (but doable). Prof. R explained all her material THOUROUGLY & any confusion she was willing to help! But the class was DIFFICULT; make sure you take your own time to focus and really understand the material. (i spent hours studying but well worth it)
Very good professor. Stats can be pretty hard but she does explain things well, ask for help and she'll provide it well. The hw and tests are very similar, put in the work for studying and doing the hw/chapter reviews and you should do well. Lets you use an index card on tests which honestly made me get an A in the class, great professor!
The first few chapters were very clear and well taught. After that the last 4 months of the semester were rushed and most of the class was left with questions, then she just threw out tests and when people did poorly she blamed everyone for not studying. Materials were very unclear past the first month and she dropped the ball with the final.
The embodiement of average-ness. Straightforward, slightly difficult, fast-grader. Nothing special. Nothing terrible.
Difficult but doable. We were allowed a 6x4 flash card for every test, which we had every two weeks. Ask questions and she will explain. Typical stats class experience.
She is very straight forward in her approach. Her tests always have what is on her lecture notes- and there are no surprises. She genuinely cares about you retaining her information and the essentials for each lesson. I sadly cannot take her for trig, but I plan to take her for calculus and pre calc! Very good teacher if you apply yourself.
She is a tough teacher. She does not give extra credit when I asked and I went to her office hours everyday as I struggled so much. She is a fast paced note taker. We learn at least 2 lessons per day and 10 or more questions for each lesson a week is due Sunday. I would NOT take her again. It seems like she doesn't care about her students enough.
If you're a slow note taker, or if you have difficulty understanding thick accents, do not take this class. As someone who struggled with both, I struggled throughout this entire class. I recommend making a study group early on. She does a section a day, and 15-30 homework questions per section, so expect a lot of homework every week.
Professor has. teacher style that is hard to adapt to. The class is hard and required alot of individual time to understand. She is very nice when it comes to questions and homework help. She teaches you how to use the calculator to make tests easier. Personally spend hours studying. Isn't the best professor but also not the worst.
she is a great teacher and she explains everything very clearly. we have 4 exams during the semester and they are all from what she teaches. the final exam is from the beginning of the class through the end but it's so easy. she answers every question and she is very patient. you have to do the homework and she provides you the notes
I personally have never heard of an online course that has to "participate" in zoom calls. Any math teacher I had never willingly put out participating in class as part of your final grade. She randomly calls out your name at the most random times and if you don't understand or can't figure it out she gets very upset by it.
If you are a slow note-taker, don't take this class. We averaged 2 -3 lessons daily. They were all very poorly explained to the class. She would just go along with her PowerPoint, solving everything, rarely stopping to explain. Test heavy and hw never reflected what we learned in class. Just seemed like she didn't care enough for her students.
She's actually just the worst. Doesn't teach a thing, blitzes through her powerpoints like it's a routine, and god forbid she explains what she's doing. If you don't buy her 80$ WileyPlus subscription, congrats! You failed. You could ace a quiz and your grade will go up by half a percent, but if you get two questions wrong it goes from an A to a B-
Bruh, all reviews hella valid!!!!!! She can't teach for s*** and she runs through everything faster than sonic and acts pissed off by default. Definitely not the teacher to just go and ask for help without feeling like she finna yell at you. She then randomly asks throughout the class people to come up and answer questions. BEWARE!!
a very sweet woman with sub-par lectures. defo ask questions in class and go to office hours because she tends to skim important details during lecture
She's an okay professor. However, she does go through topics really quickly. Her grading on tests/quizzes are very strict. She isn't very forgiving if you make small errors, as those will cost you almost 1/3 of credit. Hardly any extra credit. No mcq's on her tests, everything is frq's. She does make errors herself, so be patient and ask questions.
