Professor is very easy. Follow his syllabus and you will receive an easy "A". He is very good instructor and very patient with class. If you do not miss a day of his class, you will get a lot out of his lectures. He is very easy and he helps you out a lot when it comes to Mid Term & final. Enjoy

Mr. Stevenson is a good teacher. He makes every class interesting. He explanes everything so good. He also let's you know what material will be on the quiz and tests, and he tells us some interesting stories about his job and yes he did fly a helicopter for the L.A.P.D. If you don't understand you will when you take him. I do recommend him!! :)

He does have interesting stories, he gives alot of material to learn but he prepares you very well before exams. Hes very funny and you can ask him practically anything to do with tickets or whatever.

This has to be the worst professor in the AJ department. Don't get me wrong he's a great person and i love criminal justice but his classes are inadequate. The information we learn is useless and you feel unprepared when it comes to future classes. Overall, if you want a super easy A take him but if you're serious about school don't take him.

Mr. Stevenson is the best prof.! I took him for AJ 1,2,4,49, and 160. There are no surprises on his exams. He is very approachable, and likes to be asked questions. He tells alot of stories of past experiences while on duty...very interesting and related to the material. He goes over the material until it is clear to all.

By far one of my favorite teachers at ELAC! He is so sweet and kind. He really cares about his students. Learned ALOT! Plus he gave me some great advice on pursuing my career in Forensics. I'm super shy and don't really talk much but he brought me out of my shell and helped me a lot. He's definitely an inspiration.

Stevenson is one of the best teachers on campus. His class is mostly powerpoint and very fulfilling and you will walk away at the end of the semester with a knowledge of criminal law. A very funny teacher, he genuinely cares and wants you to pass not just his class but all of your classes. Take him for sure.

One of the best professors I had in ELAC. He's very genuine, humble, and great sense of humor. Attendance is mandatory for notes and no textbook needed. Although I'm a Soc Major I would recommend this professor to anyone. Looking forward to take more AJ classes w/ Stevenson :)

Only complain that I have with him is that he was constantly late. Other than that, he was a great professor, really interesting lectures, and had fun while learning. The textbook is not really needed if you write down his notes word by word.

Mel is an awesome professor. I took him 1st Summer Session. You need to attend class or you will miss notes. You need your notes to pass his tests. Police Report ,He gives step by steps handouts, gives you extra copies of police report forms. the report is not hard for the first time. Mr Stevenson is there to help you, if you don't understand. No book requires. Don't Used Your Phone in class he will get mad! midterm has to be typed. final is the same. i took it in Fall 2016 "A"!

It was nice to have a professor who did not teach off the books but taught by what he experienced and learned throughout his career as a police officer. 5 week online summer class. I would highly recommend this class to anyone. 10 quizzes, a midterm, a final, 3 discussions. Plenty of opportunities for extra credit.

Stevenson's insight and format for this course was amazing. Plenty of extra credit, and VERY simple and IMPORTANT slides that basically help you do great for quizzes/ Exams. Although the course was asynchronous, the discussion topics were fun and engaging (the majority of discussions were extra credit). Easy Course and GREAT GUY. TAKE HIS COURSE!!

I have taken many online classes with Prof. Stevenson and I can truly say he is probably the best at online classes of any AJ professor at LACCD. He assigns minimal discussions, a reasonable amount of quizzes, and recommends some fantastic films and tv shows.

He has recently moved to Lee College, he is amazing in every way possible. If you want to take CRIJ at all at Lee College I highly recommend it he makes it as easy as possible.

Professor at Lee College is amazing - makes the class super easy. Textbook not required, just attend class and you'll learn a lot. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for study prep too.

Assignments and expectations are clear.Not a lot of overwhelming or unnecessary assignments. Professor is fair with grading, engaging, and provides interesting attention keeping situational videos to discuss. Most importantly, professor is quick to respond. He offers extra credit. Last, his online setup makes you want to learn. Take him!
