She is such a good professor! She is hard but her tests are what are on her notes, so go to class and listen!

Melaney is an extremely knowledgeable teacher and lectures very well. Her tests are difficult, but if you actually study and attend her lectures, you will do well. No homework ever, attendance isn't mandatory, however she does have weekly quizzes. They aren't worth much, just there to help you know how much you need to study. Highly recommend.

This course is tough but as long as you attend the lectures and go over the lecture notes, then you should pull a decent grade from her course. I highly recommend her and I look forward to having her for Physiology in the fall.

I loved taking Physiology from Melaney. She's a great teacher. People say that Phys takes as much study time as anatomy, but I found this class to be extremely easy. Just make flashcards for every vocabulary word on her notes, memorize, and you'll be fine. I got A's on every test and didn't need to take the final. Physiology is incredibly cool.

Although attendance isn't mandatory, she does have quizes you have to take with a clicker in class. If you have an A in the class before taking the final, you don't have to take it. I took Anatomy and Physiology from Melaney at the same time thinking it was going to be a crazy semester and she was incredible. Read her notes, watch each video twice, I did great so do you. There is no reason you cannot pass if you put a little effort. I started learning english 4 years ago, I did really well in her class. I got anatomy overall 95% and physiology 96.5%. I received tremendous knowledge from her.

I wish that Melaney was my teacher for all of my Biology classes! She makes her lectures educating and interesting at the same time! Melaney is a fun teacher and really knows physiology. For the most part I enjoyed her lectures. However, her tests are super hard, and that wouldn't be much of a problem if we had enough time. Usually 65 MC questions, but there's also a written portion that takes up half the time to complete. Other than that she's an excellent teacher.

DONT buy the book waste of money, does quizzes with a clicker that are 10% of grade. I really liked this class. Kinda like solving puzzles about the human body. She uses a lot of evolutionary biology as background, which made it make sense for me. If you're anti-evolution or something, choose somebody else.

Very effective teaching style. Crass and funny. Teaches in terms of processes/putting pieces of the puzzle together. Gives context as she teaches. I usually ask teachers lots of followup ?'s to tease out context, but I hardly ever had to do that with her. Tests come straight from textbook notes which is literally her lecture on paper.

She was awesome with giving note handouts for each chapter and being very specific for what would be on each test. Lots of opportunity for learning online and basically presents her lecture twice: once in the video, the next a review in the next class. Tough stuff to learn, work hard!

Take this class with Melaney! She is an amazing professor and helps you to really understand the content. The course is pretty difficult but she gives you opportunities to get your grade up. Melaney is also really funny in class and makes learning this material interesting and fun.

I would 10/10 recommend this class with Melaney. She really cares about how well the students learn and understand the material. It's probably one of the hardest classes I have taken but if you put a lot of effort into studying and take the time to understand it, you will do well.

Exams are everything as far as grades, quizes every lecture, def do the reading to pass. ��

Melaney was amazing. Her lectures are the best part of the course, she puts so much time into them that they are genuinely interesting. She is down-to-earth and just.. raw. I had to retake the course after getting sick (early on) the last semester and comparatively, she is so much easier to follow. Snag a seat!

This class was quite challenging in that there is a LOT of info to cover! Melaney is straight forward and really wants you to succeed, but you better be putting in the necessary work! Go over the TopHat quizzes to study and try to stay ahead on material, it's easy to fall behind. Phys is hard but you got this!!!

Melaney is the best. I took Anatomy TWO times before realizing all along I needed Melaney. Her lectures are AMAZING. She is so organized. Instead of cramming material in your face, she really does make this course seem manageable and actually fun to learn. Anatomy is VERY difficult for some. Please save yourself time and money and take Melaney. :)

This is the BEST teacher I have EVER had. She was born to teach. Shes passionate about her subject and passionate about her students

Melaney is a 10/10 I'm not kidding. I've heard horror stories from other students in different lectures and I just feel like I hit the jackpot with her class. She makes you work for your grade, but you LEARN. Her tests are multiple choice, and so well written! Make sure you study her lecture notes, and you're GOLDEN! She offers great extra credit!!

Anatomy is hard, especially if you take physiology at the same time. I was told that Melaney was the best so I took her for both classes. I am so glad I did! She is willing to take the time to answer your questions and truly cares. She is so relatable and makes A&P fun. I 100% recommend taking her classes. Hands down best professor I've ever had.

Best professor I have ever had! I took anatomy and physiology with Melaney, and let me just tell you do not even bother taking these two classes with any other professor because they are not easy. She truly wants you to succeed, and makes these two classes somehow manageable. Her lectures are very informative, and super fun.

Pros: Super organized. Makes difficult topics understandable. Drops a test. Lots of bonus points available. Cons: 3 essays/ semester. They suck, but they're useful. Material is HARD. Probably hard with every teacher though. Class is hybrid, but coming once per week didn't work for me. I think she's great. This class is hard, though.

She cares and works hard to help her students succeed. She communicates well. She is fair. Everything on the test is in the notes she gives out. She gives videos of the lectures. The 'essay' (can just be bullet points/super easy) is given 1 wk before test and is open-book, open-friend, and has a clear rubric. Best prof. ever! Loved her class!

Melaney offers everything for a perfect grade. Offers recorded lectures, in person lectures, lecture notes, top hat quizzes w/ answers, office one on one, zoom one on one, worksheets w/ answers, a Teachers aide for help. No book to read. Essays are simple, can be bullet point, drawing, 1 to 2 paragraphs, just need to explain process. Offers E.C.

She is amazing! I would take her class again. This subject is hard and you have to put alot of work into it but, she wants her students to succeed. She has so many resources and she makes her lectures fun! 10/10 would recommend!

Melaney is an excellent professor, but tough. If all you want is an easy A, look elsewhere, you have to study for her class. Her lectures are really informative, so pay attention. You'll be alright if you DON'T FALL BEHIND. She includes interactive activities on her lectures notes, If you are a hands-on learner, take advantage of this. Good luck!

INCREDIBLE instructor. This class is hard, but so interesting. Lectures are on youtube and she gives you notes. It's a very time-intensive class. We did 3 papers, which were very technical but excellent for studying. 4 exams plus a comprehensive final. The lowest test score got dropped. There were extra credit projects at the end of the semester.

Honestly loved Melaney!! She's an amazing professor that made anatomy super fun. She really cares about her students.

Melaney is literally the best professor I've ever had. She cares so much about her students and she is understanding. Anatomy is tough but she makes it better. You have to work hard and show her you want to succeed and she will help you. I would take her over and over again. TAKE HER CLASS.

Super challenging class, but I ended up really liking it. Farr did TONS to help us through it - participation credit for in-class stuff, bonus at the end, take-home part of tests. I feel like this is the class I learned the MOST from. But it's just not easy material. I feel really smart after her class, though!

She is NOT an easy professor. You have to work for your grade. That being said, she has all the tools you need to succeed set out for you from the very start. You have to actually use them to succeed though. I struggled for my A but I would take the course again from her without a second thought.

Melaney is my favorite professor so far, her name is on the front of the lab manual for a reason ;) Everything she will test on is in the notes she gives you. She teaches for every learning style, drops lowest exam, and provides a couple extra credit opportunities! I wish I could have taken Phys with her!

Prof Farr is an incredible professor. She is passionate about what she is teaching as well as the success of her students. Anatomy is a brutal course and you HAVE to study diligently, but she makes it understandable and interesting. I will probably compare every future professor to Melaney Farr because she is SO GOOD!

Amazing professor! Her tests were straight from her chapter outlines. She was great at explaining concepts and helps you if you don't understand. Super quick at getting back to you with emails. Would take her again 100%, best teacher I have ever had!

Melaney was amazing! Her teaching style is incredible and she simplifies phys enough that you understand the concepts but aren't overwhelmed by unimportant details. She provides so many resources to do well: pre-written lecture notes, interactive activities, take-home exam essays, drops lowest test, and a big extra credit assignment. TAKE WITH HER!

Melanie is one of my favorite professors. She is an entertaining speaker and is able to keep students engaged really well.

This is a great professor, this class is hard so you will need to put in the time to learn the material. Melaney is a great lecturer and if you need help she will help you, she wants you to do well in her class. This class is definitely not an easy A, but melaney makes it seem less hard.

I could not say enough positive things about Melaney. If you need to take anatomy- take it with Melaney. This is a difficult course but Farr makes it possible. Don't get behind, and spend time with the material daily. Farr is great at what she does and gives you everything you need to be successful (Extra credit, exam drop, credit for attendance).

It is not often you stumble upon a professor like Melaney; one whose only goal is preparing students for successful careers, and who loves doing it. Phys takes work, but she makes it incredibly clear, provides all needed tools, makes lectures ENJOYABLE, teaches understanding - not memorization, knows her students. Honestly the best professor EVER.

Melaney is by far one of my favorite professors! Her lectures were super fun and engaging. She gives you her lecture notes when you start the unit and everything you could possibly need for exams is found on them. Her tests aren't difficult as long as you study. You have a take home essay for 3/4 of the exams and other small, easy assignments.

Melaney is the queen of physiology! She is one of the best professors i've ever had, she is so passionate about biology and really gives you all of the tools to succeed in her class, as long as you do the work and study you will do great. Don't take phys with anyone else Melaney is simply the best!!

Melaney is the best! Take w/ her if you can. I wish I could take another course from her. She makes a difficult subject digestible & is entertaining while doing so. Lectures are engaging & interesting. Offers extra credit at the end of the semester to give you the possibility of earning an additional 25 pts added to an exam. Lowest exam dropped.

TAKE HER!! She is super nice and is very passionate about teaching and her students. Drops lowest test grade and offers extra credit towards the end. She teaches in a way that makes it easier to understand. Doesn't have study guides so might need to make them yourself but there are practice questions you can do. I would definitely take her again!!!

What you need to know: - Prioritize your time with this class, it is SO easy to fall behind - Extra credit worth up to 25 exam points back (saved me so much) - Drops lowest exam score - Exams are: multiple choice, select all that apply, write in sometimes, and in the end, you write about something you learned very well that wasn't on the exam

Melaney is wonderful! Amazing lectures! She provides detailed notes for each section and tests directly from those notes so you know exactly what to study. She is funny and caring. She also has videos of all lectures on her youtube channel which was an invaluable study resource. She makes difficult concepts easy to understand. 10/10 take from her!

Melaney is a gem. I compare all of my professors to her going forward and no one lives up to her yet. She's super funny, makes lectures fun, and you can tell she actually enjoys teaching, which is great because she's fantastic at it. She also really knows a lot about what she's teaching. Easy A if you're ready to learn, come to class, and study.

Hands down my favorite teacher!! She explained things in a way that was easy to understand and uses humor to keep you engaged in class. She is super chill and funny. She is also very helpful when you need it, and she responds quickly to emails. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend her! I wish I had her for Anatomy.

MELANEY WAS THEE BEST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD! IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE ANATOMY OR PHYSIOLOGY TAKE IT WITH HER!! She is absolutely amazing at teaching difficult concepts and makes them sound easy. Her guided notes and lecture videos are very helpful, so take advantage of them! I love Melaney so much, and I honestly can't recommend her enough!

I was super intimidated by Melaney at first but she truly cares about all of her students and doing what she can to help you pass. She is super passionate, crazy smart, and can help you whenever you need it. This class is a reasonable amount of work for physiology which doesn't mean she gives too much. There is a 30-40$ subscription one time.

The MOST amazing professor I have ever had. I took her for anatomy, and physiology. She is awesome. She is passionate about what she teaches and is incredibly knowledgeable about what she is teaching. Wish she could replace majority of the professors that I have at SLCC. 10/10 would take all my classes from her. Lots of content, so STUDY.

She was an amazing professor. She knows what she is talking about in depth. There are a lot of notes to study but that's to be expected with physiology. DO NOT FALL BEHIND, once you do it is hard to catch back up. Another thing that is nice about her class is that she drops your lowest exam grade and gives opportunities for extra credit

Professor Melaney was an outstanding professor. She made the class so fun, and she is absolutely good at teaching difficult concepts. She made it easy to understand and fun to learn. You will do great in her class if you watch her lectures, videos, and notes. I recommend her class 100%. SHE THE BEST.

Best professor I've ever had and probably will ever had. I wish she could teach me everything!! I go out of my way to pass her name on to other students. You HAVE to take her class. Homework, in person practice questions. 4 exams, 1 final, 2 essays. A great workload but difficult material. But you actually have time to study!!

Honestly, good professor. Class was tough, but she kept things honest and made it so you have to know your stuff. Made things fun tho! Overall I'd def recommend her for Physiology!

Melany is hands down one of the best professors at SLCC. She is someone with a lot of passion and energy for HAP. Additionally, she is one of the funniest people I have met in higher education. Melaney expects a lot of you, but for good reason. I can also say that she fiercely cares for her students. My life is better for having her as my teacher.

She is willing to help please take her, is not an easy A but she will give you all resources to actually learn and do good on the class. She is amazing!!!

Best Professor! She's very knowledgeable and gives you all the resources to be successful, you just have to put in the effort. If you do well on the exams, you don't have to take the final. She has videos of all the lectures so you can always go back and study the content more with her lectures. All test questions come from the notes she provides!

Melaney is amazing! Anatomy is a difficult course, but she makes it very enjoyable. She WILL teach you. Once you leave her class, you will understand anatomy. Her lectures are great! As long as you understand the material, the tests and homework are a breeze. If you need any help or anything she is willing to help. I cannot recommend her enough!

Farr is the best professor I've ever had. I took Biol2420 a few times before taking with Melaney and before taking her class I believed I just wasn't smart enough to get an A. Although this class is challenging, she provides all the resources needed and doesn't try to trick you on exams. Don't fall behind and make sure to study before/after class.

I loved this class! Melaney is a FANTASTIC teacher! She give amazing lectures that really keep you interested and has great resources to study outside of class. She is on your team and wants you to succeed. You have to put in the work for an A. But if you study and listen to all her provided notes and lectures, you can do it! 10/10 recommend.

She's an amazing professor and her class is really fun, but it's challenging. If you learn slowly or struggle with concepts, be ready to put in a lot of work. Focus on understanding, not just memorizing, use the Google Docs she gives, and start studying early. Finding yourself a study group will help you a lot. Overall, it's tough.

I took Melaney's class for physiology and anatomy this semester and LOVED IT. Her lectures are engaging and there are in person practice assignments which are very helpful when understanding the material. She will draw things out on the board which helped me a lot as a visual learner, definitely would take again.
