She is a great teacher. I took her summer course and she was probably the most helpful math teacher I have ever had. She grades easy as well. It is not hard at all to get an easy "A" in her class.

All I can say is WOW! Before entering Mrs.Forbes class I hated math and had a terrible time trying to learn it, since entering her class I have gotten A's on all the tests. She is really committed to her students doing well and does everything possible to help us out! Great job Mrs.Forbes! :-)

Mrs Forbes is the best math teacher ive ever had, before taking this class i hated math and never did very well.Now i get A's and B's with no trouble. Shes always willing to help you when ever you need it. I would definatly take her again. Thanks Mrs Forbes for being such a great teacher.

What a great teacher and a great person. She will do all she can to help you not only get a good grade in the class, but to not go insane in the process. You can retake tests that you've done well on for a better grade. She's honestly a phenomenal teacher. You're crazy if you don't take her class.

What a great teacher! In high school, I didn't understand Algebra at all, but now I do. She does go fast, but you just have to be alert and take lots of notes. I liked taking her b/c she hands out review sheets that have the exact same type of questions that she has on the tests. Its very helpful!:)

If you do not understand math, take her class! Very friendly and helpful, and is always willing to go back and explain something! Take her class!

I HATE math, but I ended up getting an A in the class. I'm definatly not a math person at all but she really does everything she can to help you understand things, she's very clear and easy to understand and unlike some, she's very approachable if you have any question! TAKE THE CLASS!!!

Wow!! I can't say enough good things about Melanie, were so lucky to have her at grcc. She does everything she can to help you, she is very approachable. I've NEVER been good at math and to this day, I'm still not, but Melanie has such great people skills and has helped me a great deal!! Take her!!

She is the easiest teacher I have ever had, study the practice tests because that is pretty much the test.

Excellent prof. I hated my 107 teacher and got my first ever C, took Melanie for 110 and easily got an A. Not because it's an "easy" class like she doesn't really teach you anything, but she just explains things so well it is easy to understand everything. She is also very willing to help you individually.

The best teacher I have ever had, plain and simple. Do the homework and the practice tests and you will do fine. I failed Algebra in high school but I got a B in her class. If you dont understand something just ask her and she will spend as much time with you as neccessary.

She's extremely helpful. Her passion for teaching is obvious and that made me try hard in her class. She explains EVERYTHING before you take your test. Literally minutes before you take it..This lady rocks... I never even texted in that class because I wanted to learn.

Easily the best math teacher I've ever had. Melanie is insanely helpful. Her test reviews are pretty much the same as the tests just with different numbers and she posts videos of how to do everything online in case you didn't quite catch on in class. If you get a chance to have her for a math teacher, do it FOR SURE.

She's uses the computer to much she has got to just teach us about math not how to use the computer. She also uses blackboard to much it's not like this is the only class I'm taking she puts to much stuff up on black board and if you don't do it, it'll kill your grade but I DON'T HAVE TIME TO GO AND DO HER STUPID QUIZZES.

She is great! I took this class before and just barely passed, retaking it to raise my GPA was a breeze w/ her, she offers extra credit for doing your homework on time and prepares you well for all tests.

OMG this is the best teacher I have ever had in college! She is so helpful and sweet! She is understanding and will do her best to explain. She uses many techniques to show how to work out problems, not just one. Overall she is an amazing teacher! I highly suggest getting her!

She does extremely well at explaining things on a basic level, which I would imagine is something that is very helpful with somebody that is bad at math, however me being somebody that is good at math found her almost too simple to the point it was very boring. But although I found her boring it doesn't mean I don't think she was a good teacher.

Good Prof. Very helpful. Very nice to students. Posts the lecture online incase you miss or need to review. gives a lot of resources. It is a class with a good amount of homework so make sure to budget about an or so hour per night. to get it done.

i would recommend this professor, she is very nice and it's easy to understand her and if you miss a day then it's online. her quizzes are online to but they are not hard at all i would recommend her to anyone

Ms. Forbes is an amazing teacher. I a horrible math student and have put it off for as long as I could. Took her MA 107 online class. She not only was patient with me while I struggled but she put up videos of how to work problems I was having issues with. We used ALEKS online so we didn't really use a book. Great teacher.

Mrs. Forbes was the best math teacher I think I've ever had. She goes over everything that will be on the tests! She posts test reviews online that are exactly like the test. She also makes sure everyone has an understanding of what she's teaching before moving on. Please take her if you get the opportunity. Awesome lady!

She is such an adorable lady. I am so happy I received her as a teacher. She is extremely helpful and very friendly. She's almost like a friend instead of a teacher. You can tell she cares about her students. Plus she gives candy during test and emails you saying good job if you received an A on her tests!

Forbes is a great teacher, she's very clear and shows a lot of examples. She also records lectures from the day and posts them to blackboard so you can go back and watch any topic over again, it's really convenient and above and beyond what other teachers I've had have done. If you can take a class with her, definitely do!

Great Professor! Ready to help you succeed! Super nice! Gives extra credit for homework, gives review guide, goes over test before you start, records every classposts on bb, gives like 3 partner questions to do at the end of class for participation points so you have to stay until the end to get credit for that. Best professor I have ever had. She is so clear on what you need to do to do well and is so helpful. She wants you to learn and is excited about it. Would recommend her to everyone and anyone.

Prof. Forbes loves math and you can tell. I took her class for pre-calculus and while the homework is difficult at times, she offers at least half of her class to answering questions. She gives practice tests that are carbon copies of her actual tests, so there are no surprises.

You could tell she really cared whether her students learned. She went out of her way to help us understand the material & lets you retake all your tests along with extra credit for doing your homework. She is not only a great professor but an amazing person HIGHLY recommend!

She is by far the best professor I have ever had at GRCC. If I could, I would take another math just to be in her class. She is so very helpful and took time out of her busy schedule to help students like myself who are not very good at math. She also provided very helpful online material AND plenty of extra credit opportunities. She rules!

Loved Prof Forbes! The class is overall extraordinarily easy, and she gives a lot of extra credit. You don't have to go to class to pass (you do get points taken away if you don't go) because she puts all of the classwork online in video format. She is a very nice lady too, I would definitely recommend!

A truly wonderful teacher. She gives so many options on how she grades material and so many second chances that there is no excuse to not get an A in her class. tests, homework, projects are allowed many second chances. All lectures have an outline provided for note taking as well as being recorded for student reference.

Melanie is one of the best math teachers at GRCC. She works with her students to make sure they are doing well. Outlines the homework, records lectures and test reviews. Allows retakes on only the portion you missed. She is always willing to help, and breaks it down for you.

Melanie was a great professor and the class was so easy! she records all of her lessons so you don't have to go all the time either. Review guides are exactly like the test so as long as you study that you will be good. such an easy A, 1000% recommend her she's so nice and really wants you to do well.

I enjoyed Professor Forbes PreCalc class, which I took over the Summer. She went the extra mile and recorded all of her lectures and posted them on blackboard. Most importantly, her class adequately prepared me for Calc 1, which I also received an A in; that being said, be sure to do all of the homework if you want to do well. Use the study guides.

I LOVED this class, and I normally DESPISE math. Professor Forbes makes everything very easy to learn and encourages you to do your best always. Gives out candy before every single test, as well as records each lecture and posts it, which is incredible for people like me who are horrible at math and need to go over it a few times. 10/10!

Absolutely amazing professor. She is super willing to help with anything before and after class. She will also respond to any questions emailed to her. The homework is overwhelming at times but that might also be accredited to the aleks program and being in an accelerated summer course

All the work was done through ALEKs but she had her own notes for each topic with a video. The said videos were helpful and every move made was explained.

Very structured and organized! I've taken her class in person and online (College Alg and Pre Cal), and she runs them both the same. Her lectures are straight to the point and explained well. She's very clear on what needs to get done and she gives out a guide for online students to know what needs to get done. She allows a page of notes for exams.

I am a dual enrollment student so sometimes I feel a bit behind college students in math. I also have a unique schedule because I have to go to high school too, but Mrs. Forbes always makes time to zoom with me and help. I usually am terrible at math so honestly my grade is all because of the wonderful help she's been to me.

A professor who cares about her students, and making sure that they understand the material. Prof. Forbes would always answer my questions and emails. She does her homework through both BB and ALEKS which is honestly really good. I think it was a good way of learning, and every students "Pie" is different and tailored to your understanding. 10/10

I didn't interact with Forbes much because I took an online class, but she was accessible when I had questions and clear about what was expected from students. Class was almost all on ALEKS and well organized. There was a lot of material - long lectures, notes, homework, extra assignments, and tests - but it was manageable if you're efficient.

Forbes is super nice and always willing so help. She is a great teacher and explains things very well. Due dates are always explained clearly and with ample time. Tests are fair and quickly graded. Homework isn't too bad either. Overall, she is super nice and an awesome math teacher.

TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER!! She is a FANTASTIC teacher!! She is patient and accommodating and cares! Not only does she offer retakes but she also offers a sheet of notes! She wants you to succeed and is also very understanding.

She is easily available outside of class if you need extra help. Her lectures can move kind of fast but she's always available if you need more help one on one.

Melanie Forbes is probably the best professors I've had after 3 full time semesters. I did horrible on an exam, she took the time to make a video going over every problem I did wrong and let me take the test again. After each exam you have time to try again, she will give partial credit based on your scratch paper. She is incredible, 5 stars.

Professor Forbes is an amazing math teacher. Her lectures are clear, and she's always willing to help. The workload is manageable if you stay on top of it. I found Unstuck study super helpful for study prep.

If you are not strong in Math, take any math class with her. She moves a bit fast but is so willing to help you understand with emails, videos, before and after class. She has helped me with some personal issues at the beginning of the semester and kept me pretty confident throughout the semester. She really is a great professor. Smart and caring.

She's awesome! Class used ALEKS which I didn't love but other than that the class was great. Allows retake in the questions you got wrong during tests, goes over the tests beforehand. Definitely cares that her students understand the material. Don't fall behind in the ALEKS Pie.

Mrs. Forbes is one of my favorite professors! She personally took time out of her day to meet with me to ensure my success. I could not have made it throughout the course without her! She truly cares about each and every one of her students. She walked me through any problem I was struggling with.10/10 recommend.
