if you're planning on goin to class and keeping up with all the assignments ull get a definite A. she makes you think.... loll!!
She gives discussion questions and Rp's based off the reading. Readings can be a maximum of 12 pages. Lectures are very clear, she makes the lectures interesting, and has some videos to show occasionally on philosophy. Midterm was a little difficult, she gives extra credit to help out. Take her she's awesome, just do the work and attend class.
she's all over the place very lost unless you know this subject really well than take the class if new to philo hard class.. she's very nice but hard to tell what she want us to study for exams.Covers everthing!! too much info. 1 debate 2 project assignments outline and final essay. Two essay format 1midterm & final the h/w is easy.
To much work and study and it puts me to sleep. Exams are unclear. Her lectures put me to sleep. Take this class ONLY if you like Philosophy (or like tto work A LOT).
Dr. McQuitty is a very fun and interesting teacher. If you show up to every class and do the work, there's no reason why you shouldn't get an A. She doesn't give that much work, but she wants you to think. Don't take her if you're lazy or show up late or not to class at all.
She is one cool cat. Very interesting to listen to, she really cares about students level of envolvment and if the students are enjoying the class and learning something. She is also very helpful, I emailed her about a million times throughout the class with questions and she always got back to me quickly and with very helpful answers.
Really nice teacher; taking clear, organized notes & attendance is important in getting a good grade. Two group debates on the positions of certain philosophers, weekly discussion questions for homework that is based off that week's reading, outline for final essay and the essay itself, & midterm/final. Readings range from 12-20pgs; just skim it.
Dr. McQuitty is the proverbial sh*t! Very helpful, very into her subject, pretty clear, pretty fair as far as homework/reading/testing. She's pretty hot too, so she's pretty much got the whole package. Consider yourself lucky to get her!
McQuitty is pretty cool--she's spastic and can be vague, but in the end she's smart, fun, and a good teacher. She did remind me of an old girlfriend, so I didn't like her at first. All in all, if you're interested in learning from a fun standpoint as opposed to a more intellectual, by all means take McQuitty!
Dr. Mcquitty is a fun professor who is quite passionate about philosphy, specifically the philosophy of art. Very helpful, she wants to see her students succeed. Add her to the flavors of philosophy and you get an awesome class. 10/10
She opened my eyes up to the love of philosophy. You must do the readings and a paper is due at the end of the semester, but she's a GREAT/AWESOME teacher and provides good notes.
class is easy if you can stand to listen to her say "ok" and "right" after every other word for 3 hours. "this is rate my professor, ok, dotcom, ok...ok. if you go to this website, right.., ok you can read the truth right?.. ok, alright good" entire lecture sounds like that! assignments& exams are easy though. just be warned if you r annoyed easily
Her Phil of Cinema class was interesting but kinda boring...shes way to into artzy films and those are almost all she shows. She only gives a tiny break which sucked. Her lectures are somewhat fun shes very hyper and likes to involve people. Tests are very hard though, so study for them. So the class is fun at times and boring others...
McQuitty is an amazing teacher. her methods may be a tad unconventional and she may be kind of spaztic but you end up learning a lot. myself as well as several other classmates were inspired to continue philosophical discussions and debates even after classes. tests are easy, just do the work! whoever said they were hard just didn't do any homework
Great Teacher. She will make you love philosophy. Take her. She rocks!
Dr. McQuitty is one of the best professors at Pierce College. I highly recommend her Intro to Philosophy class. Make sure you understand the readings and write a well thought response.
HER CLASS IS AMAZING...SHE IS BEAUTIFUL! I was unable to finish her class due to personal reasons but I continued the work at home. Class can be long and tedious at times but she draws you into the world of philosophy and cinema so incredibly well. It helps if you are interested in these subjects. Be warned, she is a it hyper-manic.
I love me some McQuitty. She is truly an awesome woman. Really helpful, understanding and relateble... Just make sure you show up for class. There is a lot of work so things can be tedious but as long as you are willing to commit you should ace the class no prob. If you want an enjoyable calss (not necessarily easy) this one is worth your time.
She's a great teacher who likes to get to know her students and help them in any way possible. She takes attendance daily. There are readings/analysis assigned daily. There is only a midterm, final, and daily homework as grades, but she offered extra credit. She's great, but not an easy A. Her class requires a lot of effort, but its well worth it!
LOVE HER!!!!! one of my favorite teachers
DO NOT everr take her class if: you do not understand philosophy, don't care about it. She gets off the topic wayyyy too much, gets students very confused, does not tell the students what we need to know for the test. She does not explain the readings that she assignes, she just has discussions about them which are confusing.DO NOT waste of time.
She is the most dedicated professor I have ever, ever met. Her lectures can be a bit convoluted b/c she gets off topic and for those with no prior philosophy experience, it gets confusing. But, Philosophy of Art is an amazing class. If this is something that interests you, you would be shooting yourself in the foot to not take the class with her.
I did not like this professor one bit. She is always off topic and random. The assignments have little to do with what we do in class. I can't believe this lady calls herself a Dr. she is more like a high school teacher who plays favorites and just hangs out in class wasting all of our time. Also, I have no clue why she has a chili pepper. AVOID!
This proffesaur is asome. This is a class where one cannot **** their way through. So if you take her them get ready to do work. Some students did not like her because they got bad grades on the midterm and sometimes left on the break. Even in class the were not paying attention but in the end you get what you put in. But she is cool and will help if you need help. There is a tutor if you need clarafying. So yeah, Dr. Mcquitty you rock
most amazing teacher i have ever had! we went on field trips every other week and she definitely tried to relate our readings to the REAL world. She taught me how to read philosophy so if you don't take her advice and read it twice you will most likely fail. If you do the work & participate in class she will like you even if your opinion differs<3
She is too hot to concentrate in class. But otherwise awesome teacher!
STONE COLD FOX
This was an excellent class. The level of comprehension for the course is very high, so if you are looking for easy units, you may want to look elsewhere. However, her lectures are clear, and engaging. Definitely taught at a UC/CSU level. Don't join the class unless you are serious about school, she takes students screwing around to heart.
Boring & Confusing on her best day. Great class, if you already know philosophy; then you can be one of the 2 or 3 students in class that she constantly talks to because they are the only ones who understand what the heck she is talking about. Knows her stuff but has no clue how to teach it to first timers. But she is funny, cute & very smart.
Good class if you have an interest in this subject. She also has a tutor if you need help, and opportunities for extra credit. I got an A in the class but if you're not familiar with philosophy it may be tough.
Really great class. She definitely passionate about her subject and very intelligent. The material is pretty difficult and tedious at times, but I learned a lot and she's definitely a total cutie. She spunky and fun to listen to. If you are not familiar with Philosophy and have no interest, than this class isn't for you. A LOT of reading.
Amazing, vibrant teacher. Definitely relatable. I only took this class for the movie-watching. Learned so much about Philosophy, though. You have to read the homework and NOT slack off. Do the reaction questions, journal pages (a MUST), and the essays.
She's a good teacher, but not the easiest class. Attending is 20 percent of the grade. Homework every night, and she's quite out there. If you are just starting philosophy maybe try another class unless you really want to challenge yourself. Overall she's really great.
This class was life changing for me. Really teaches you to think critically about important issues in society. Daily homework, not too difficult, but her midterm and final are not easy but youll pass if you study. Also a paper. Lectures were very fun and enlightening, I would recommend this class for sure!
Dr. McQuitty is the best teacher I've encountered in my college career. She is passionate about art, and a dedicated teacher. Some of the readings are challenging, but if you come to class, ask questions, participate, and do your homework, you'll be fine. There are "field trips" for this class; Art Walk, MOCA, a play. They were all pretty great.
I went in to Philosophy of Lit as a LIt major, and left as a Phil major. There is a lot of class discussion reading. If reading comprehension is a problem, going to class and engaging in the discussion will truly help. Her exams are essay/short answer. I loved this class, and admire Dr. McQ for her enthusiam, energy, and drive.
Phil Cin is a great class for anyone seriously interested in film. There is lot of reading and writing. Not a class you can sleep through. Melanie is a great teacher; she can really break tough concepts down. She's fair, but you will have to work to get an A in this class. She used teach preschool, so her energy and style may not be for everyone.
Not the easiest class but you will learn a lot. There's a midterm, final, and final paper. Be sure to attend class and take GOOD notes.
I'm not saying she's a bad teacher, but I didn't learn a thing in this class. I tried my best even when it came to the tests. Also the grading is too harsh for the final paper. But as the others have said take good notes and read.
its okay, you'll learn more from listening to other students.i suggest study groups. 3 exams, a paper, and HW(questions on the reading) drink coffee write good notes and keep to the insight she offers, and dont write to much info on the test, keep straight to the point.
Really great class. I had never taken a philosophy class before but Ive loved every minute of it. She really lays everything out for you. It is up to you on how your grade is...but that just means you have to be ready to do the work. Will be taking more of her courses probably one of the best teachers on campus!!=-)
One of the best professor's I've ever had! Class is mandatory...if you miss a day...you miss ALOT! - NOTE the tests are based off of the lecture. Lots of HW, but you get the most out of the class when you do it! An "A" is attainable. Dr. McQuitty has a wealth of knowlegde and you will definitely come out of the class "wiser" than when you started!
Tests are hard, studying the notes will not help unless you discuss them and comprehend them with others. You can?t procrastinate for her exams. I failed the first exam and passed the other 2. Do the homework you get points. Attend class and do the extra credit you?ll pass. She wants you to pass.
Very helpful and nice teacher! If your taking philosophy take her! You can go to her for help and she will clear up all your questions. But you have to study a lot and you have a big 5-10 pg essay!
Loved taking her class! She is a tough grader and you must do readings, show up to class and participate so if you're looking for an easy A don't take her. But if you are interested in philosophy and want to learn something of value then take as many classes with her as possible! Very insightful, funny, helpful, fair, enthusias
I do not advice taking this class at all even if you love philosophy. The philosophers this professor assigns are extremely difficult to comprehend and very repetitive and dull. Mandatory reading questions every week and demanding essays (exams) and an impossible final. Avoid this class at all costs.
Professor Mc.Quitty is one of the best teachers I've had at Pierce. There are 2 exams, a final, and a final paper. Book is mandatory since there is a hw assignment every week that comes straight from the reading. Shes an awesome person who well informs you of what the exams will be on with specifics. Great intro class to Philosophy!!
She is a great gal! i really felt like i learned more than i should have and had a lot of interest in this subject. Just ask her questions when you don't understand and she will not move forward until everyone understands so don't hesitate. Oh and if your a good than you're golden and this will be a breeze.
I loved this class. Lectures were confusing at first, but she is more than willing to take time to answer your questions until you understand. You can't miss any classes, info from each class is on the exams. You must put a lot of effort if you want an A. She was very fun and nice. Makes philosophy interesting. Take her class!
Great professor. The textbook is used a lot. She really gets into her lectures with passion, making it interesting to listen.
I have never taken a philosophy class before her Phil. & cinema class and she made everything pretty simple to understand. Throughout the semester, we took two tests, wrote a 1 page essay per reading/film and wrote in a journal. It was all pretty easy if you understood the lectures and discussions. She was very awesome! Take her!
She gives ridiculous amounts of homework. Exams are tough and 40% of your grade. Drops you from class if you miss 3 times. Locks the doors right on the dot and screams at anyone whose late. Very bipolar. Mono-tone speaker and extremely boring lectures. All I'm saying is don't take her class if you really don't need to trust me, you will regret it!
Professor McQuitty is an amazing teacher! Her class requires A LOT of work and effort on the students part, but it is all worth it because when you do the readings you get so much more out of the lectures. She is very clear and articulate and answers all questions in a very thoughtful and respectful manner. Just make sure you are always on-time!
Just do the homework and take notes during class (meaning you have to show up!). Writing down what's on the board is enough if you review it at least once. She has a lot of recommended tips to help you pass like classroom or studying behaviors and if you listen and talk to her then you'll be fine. Best way to study is with a group, so make friends!
She is awesome. As an international student this course seemed to be hard for me. At the first day of the class she explained her class regulations. I followed all she said and i got an A with hard work. She teaches so good. She makes the hard content of philosophy, crystal clear. If u r not a hard worker student, dont even expect passing. No free A
I have never had a more rude professor. She will yell at you as if you were a child if you didn't hear her whisper to you from across the room. Her tests are a tiny fraction of what you learn in class and she will have you study everything. I highly recommend not taking her class. She is very, very rude.
Hard class, but great professor.
Hard class.
I learned a lot in Prof. McQuitty's Phil. Lit. class. If you like A's, go to class, participate, be prepared to read, do your homework, and study for the tests. She is a tough, but fair grader and tests are not easy, but if you want to learn, she's "the man".
great and fair professor, test are not easy but if you read and do homework test are much easier. inspirational teacher will take again. recommend if you are serious about school.
Mcquitty is the best teacher at pierce please do yourself a favor and take one of her classes
Hardest class I have ever taken. Professor Mcquitty was harsh and brutal in email responses and hated when people asked "stupid" or "obvious" questions. Since it was a winter online course she refused to meet outside of class to help clarify coursework. Her syllabus and assignments dont match up. DO NOT TAKE HER
Tough class, but great professor!
Dr. McQuitty is a fantastic professor. Phil 1 is a very involved class with a good amount of weekly reading, but she clarifies everything in her lectures and will help you out personally as well. She makes the material very interesting, and I ended up learning a lot. Very enjoyable class. If you do your part, this class will not be a problem.
Professor McQuitty is all over the board. Took her Philosophy 5 class over the summer, online. Her syllabus and instructions never matched up. When asked questions, she was rude and did not hesitate to make u feel like an idiot - claims she wants to make the course an enjoyable learning experience, but she did everything but that for her students
She is a good professor, but the class is extremely hard.
Dr. McQuitty is probably one of the best professors any student will ever encounter. My favorite classes that I took with her where in the branch of aesthetics and I might be wrong in assuming that aesthetics is her specialty. This class in particular was amazing because she paired some great philosophers with amazing films.
Professor McQuitty is fantastic. I took her Philosophy of Art class and it was truly incredible! We not only read and discussed an array of interesting and original texts considering what is art, creativity, etc, we also had the opportunity to apply the knowledge we learned with trips to the MOCA and LACMA. I'm a phil major now, thx to McQuitty.
Respect for Dr. McQuitty. Taking Phil. Art, Phil. Cinema, and Contemporary Phil. with Dr. McQuitty has shown me that I encounter and am involved with Phil. on a daily basis. Dr. McQuitty's classes has lead to a fuller/richer understanding of the arts, the world, and of myself. I recommend any class that Dr. McQuitty teaches. Prepare to think
GREAT CLASS!!1
This class definitely isn't an easy A. It is by far the most difficult class I have taken at Pierce, and the only one I didn't have an A in all semester. Lots of tests and writing assignments that she grades difficultly on. However, if you actually do all the reading and put in a lot of effort, you'll leave the class knowing a lot about philosophy
Professor McQuitty is a nice professor. She knows what she is teaching. She is an expert in this field of Philosophy which I think why she grades hard. She require students to be more specific in their writing and analyze arguments based on different kind of theories. It is extremely important to read read read in this class. Overall, she is great.
Don't waist your time by taking this philosophy teacher. When you ask her questions she makes you feel dumb and her responses are rude. If you find a grading error on one of your blogs and you confront her where she was wrong, she will make it hard for you to pass even if you worked hard on your blogs. Waist of my time, don't recommend.
If everyone in the world was half as awesome as McQuitty, the world would be a better place. Her lectures are crystal clear, accessible, and quite fun. Moreover, she's NICE. She doesn't talk down to you or purposely talk over your head. She's only interested in teaching the concepts well.
I respect professor McQuitty, however she says one thing and means another. In her blog post discussions she states there is no wrong or right answer, but when she gives you feed back she makes you feel as if your answers were wrong. Its very difficult to get a perfect score score on any of her quizzes and assignments. She's a know it all.
If you're looking for a simple, easy class to take this is not the class for you. She assigns a lot of boring material to read and if you don't write in the discussion forum or blog posts the way she wants you to she deducts points. It's pretty hard to get an A in this class, I would suggest saving yourself the misery and taking English 102.
Great Professor with a passion for Philosophy. Don't mistake this class thinking you're simply watching films. You'll read chapters from different books from different philosophers. Midterm and Final are worth 20% each so you better do the homework and learn the material.
This class may seem overwhelming at first, but I found it was much easier to get through than anticipated. Professor McQuitty was often available to ask questions, offer clarifications on reading, there was an online Q & A which offered further understanding. The readings can be long, but it is all worth the work. Trust. Highly recommend, & enjoy.
I will admit she is one of the hardest professors I've had by far, but philosophy is not my forte. She is a tough grader, but I believe her intentions are to prepare you for other courses. Overall, she is a very nice professor and wants you to excell. She is very accessible and is always willing to answer/ clarify any questions or material.
I thought she may be easy because it being a philosophy class and online. Quiet the opposite, shes one of the toughest graders I've ever had. She takes assignments way to serious; correcting grammar and is particular about everything. Take someone else
Incredible knowledge of her field! Easy to communicate with on tough subject matter. Be prepared to read, write, participate.
My online class experience was really good. She is well organized and all the assignments are kept in one section. She answers all your questions right away, it didn't matter how simple the question was. I was impressed with all the material we reviewed during the short semester. She was great, I learned a lot.
I'm a philosophy major and I struggled all throughout this course. A lot of the material is difficult and the movies are fairly dull. There's a weekly writing assignment but she is a tough grader if you miss the point or don't understand the concept fully she will mark your work down. That being said if you go to tutoring this class will be easier.
An interesting class but a huge time commitment. Cons- A lot of field trips with driving downtown. A strange talent show at the end, you are graded. Short paper due every class meeting. Pros- Very interesting subject and good choice of reading selections. Knowledgeable, passionate & friendly professor. Good class atmosphere.
Overall one of the BEST professors I have had so far. She's such a doll and hilarious, and made Philosophy very fun. She chose great films, which got me invested into David Lynch. The homework isn't much: some reading, write a 1-page weekly reaction paper, and some journal entries. Her lectures are very clear and we have lots of class discussions.
I consider myself to be an enthusiastic learner, and was excited to learn more about philosophy, but this class completely ruined any interest I had in exploring the topic any further. The content itself is incredibly hard to understand, and she provides very little background info on it given it's an online class. An A is possible, but taxing.
One of the best professor I have had at Pierce college. She is will not give an easy A, but if you really try with the material she will do all the she can to help you succeed. She even offers extra credit if you go to work with the tutor!
Amazing philosophy professor, can't rate her highly enough. I very much so enjoyed my intro to philosophy class last semester, just pay attention and you'll pass. Highly recommended
I thought this class was going to be easy, and I was wrong. The tests aren't even based on the readings. The lectures are EXTREMELY boring, and because of that your grade will show it. DO NOT take this professor, at all!
Her grading standards are not productive, her criticism is not constructive or conducive for learning. Her quizzes seem not to gauge your understanding of the text, but feel almost like trick questions. Some of her feedback is condescending and she is not easily reachable--at all. I am am "A" average student and do enjoy philosophy, not her class.
She gives big reading assignments for homework, sometimes ranging either 10-30 pages. If you do not do the reading, you will be completely lost in lecture and you will not survive the test. She cares about the students, and if you talk to her after class, she will help you try to achieve your goal.
She is the best professor ever. I am learning a lot from this class, and at the same time enjoying it. She knows what she is talking about unlike most professors at College.
She is the best professor at Pierce. If you really want to learn, take her classes. She is very inspirational and loves philosophy. For the first time at Pierce I had a professor that taught me a lot. If you are looking for an easy A, you probably haven't understood life at all!
Very easy course, barely 10 pages of reading per week. McQuitty lectures well and makes the subject interesting and accessible. Tons of extra credit for going to tutoring and turning in optional essays. Homework weekly, but no essays.
I thought this class would be interesting to take as a extra GE class, but unless you are a philosophy major, or want to sit in a class where the majority of the class is her class tutors who debate with each other,it is not for you. the class was 1 hour a week and the rest online. She sets horrible deadlines, and gives no make ups or extra credits.
Class is heavy on reading, assignments due almost everyday (winter class). Each reading there will either be a quiz or a discussion/blog post asking for detailed responses to dense reading material. Tough grader, make sure you follow prompts precisely. Professor makes quizzes more confusing/deceiving than necessary to trick you, not a fan of that.
Professor McQuitty is amazing! Her class is very eye-opening and enjoyable. There will be lots of reading but she is very clear about her grading guidelines and gives incredible, detailed feedback! Take her class and u will not regret it!!!
I took the online course. She grades assignments and gives useful feedback immediately. It's not a hard course if you put in the effort to study. Her teaching aren't hard to understand. The workload is not stressful.
I took her class online during the Winter session and I loved it. The class was really interesting and thought provoking. Lots of discussions, fair amount of reading, and one 10-12pg final paper. I wouldnt necessarily recommend taking this in such a short term because its a lot of information to take in, but its doable and worth it.
Shes a harsh grader and does not go by the rubric
Took this course online. Professor McQuitty was very knowledgeable in the subject. Read the lecture modules, take notes, as well as view the videos she provides, and you will be fine. At first, I wasn't sure if I was going to pass this class, but it was fairly easy.
She's really nice in the beginning but once you begin to do annotations she grades harsh for no reason. I've done 20 through annotations but received a C yet she'll give full credit on another student who highlights simple words for definitions. Don't recommend at all
She's basically trying to be a Harvard Prof. and dish out 20 pages a week with 3 assignments like she's the only class or work we got in life. But like an army sgt. she'll right your posture through rigorous work so if you're into that go ahead. But as a dyslexic and attention deficit loser, this class is hell. Needed to put 3x the effort to pass.
Encourages students to use the Q&A Forum but doesn't answer until the assignment's due date has passed. I'm a reader; the amount of reading is overwhelming (5-wk class). It's a 3-unit course but it is taught like it's 5-units. Leaves no time to take any other courses. Has to correct her own dated/irrelevant instructions consistently. Wordy/lengthy.
Although the amount of reading in hindsight seems a lot, you can get by without doing more than half of the readings and by skimming through them or looking up online summaries of the things you are learning about. She grades fairly and allows you to resubmit for a higher grade. You get 2 attempts for the quiz. midterm and final are open notes
The instructor was helpful and explained the material well. There is a lot of work so I wouldn't recommend taking this class in the winter/summer. The instructor is accessible online and usually responds within a day or so. Taking thorough notes is imperative. And I recommend citing your notes too so it's easier to quote in an assignment/test.
Second online class w/McQuitty. I honestly think she is the epitome of what an online educator should be. She is highly knowledgeable regarding Philosophy, responsive, class is clear and organized, and she's kind. She's made me want to study Philosophy in my free time, and also take her classes in-person. One of my favorite Pierce professors. 10/10
She's very difficult but fair grader. Best to take this class in the fall/spring to fully learn the material. Her grading is more objective so please make sure to read the assignment prompt and lecture readings (especially in the blog and argumentative paper assignments. Took me until half of the semester to figure it out so please pay attention.
Makes you work, but makes it worth it! Definitely the most difficult of the philosophy teachers, she makes it clear that this is a "philosophy" class not an "intro to film" class: you will be reading a lot. However, she turns her lectures into very fun discussions and is very clear in her review of the week's reading.
Took this class last year but came back to review it after taking other honors classes because this class was so much easier in comparison. If you're a proficient reader, this class should be relatively light for you.
online classes with her lectures are important because participation is a big part of the final grade. She does cold call if no one volunteers and it is mandatory for cameras to be on. She expects students to understand the material before lecture and she posts about 3-4 assignments a week for the 8 week course. Is difficult, not impossible.
Professor McQuitty is very generous and understanding. Offers several extra credit opportunities. You will definitely have to do reading. Understand the content at least to a level to explain it to someone else. Quizzes are easy. Group projects have assigned members. You will learn a thing or two you might not have known, I did. Gentle yet firm.
Never know how or when she will grade assignments. She chatters away and has a problem staying on focused on discussion. I did well because I smiled and always thanked her. If you take her don't criticize, smile and say thank you.
Her grading is kind of weird at some points but as long as you follow all the assignments each week, you'll be alright
Critical Thinking and Composition. She is genuine, no ego, and caring. This class was very inspirational for me, it essentially opens your eyes, making you smarter in discerning between facts and everything else in business, family... Helped me find my true passion, I switched to Psychology.
At first I had interest in philosophy, but after taking it with her I never want to take any Philosophy classes again. She is a hard grader and assigns a good amount of work. EX: She gave a 20-question expecting detailed answers for a benchmark while assigning a reading, a quiz, and a write-up assignment on top. The list goes on.
Professor McQuitty's PHIL005 class was an engaging and thought-provoking experience. While the grading can be tricky at times, the course material is genuinely insightful. Unstuck AI proved to be a helpful study tool alongside the readings.
Good professor just a lot of work. a lot of reading and al to of assignments
Had an absolute terrible experience with her. She uses some crazy AI software and claims flags all the time that are totally bogus. Like for a movie critique that 80-90 percent of students would come up with. She is mean and condescending. I would avoid.
This class includes numerous assignments, quizzes, discussion posts, and lecture outlines each week. She also requires Blog Posts where you need to use an outside source, such as TikTok or YouTube, to find information for the post; this can get very stressful and annoying. The professor is good at providing feedback and addressing any questions.
I never hated philosophy as much as I did in her class. She is not a bad professor but the assignments are ridiculous. We had to find a video clip online that demonstrates one of the topics and that is just one of the weird homework she gives. Lots of reading that will start to rot your brain and make you hate socrates. Just take someone else...
Very chill, if you can handle the reading
Professor, would accept late work in an asynchronous class. I could not log in on my computer and emailed her, after I had retuned from Europe. She said she would have to drop me if there was any missing work. (First week of class).
The professor is extremely rigid. The content of the class seemed fun and engaging. Unfortunately had to drop the second week, due to technical difficulties. Would not take this professor again.
Genuinely awful, 90% of the homework is annotating on an awful website. Nitpicks everything. Everyone in our Discord hated her. Homework during Thanksgiving break. Nitpicks. Everything. 7-15 hrs of work per week easily. So many better professors. NITPICKS. EVERYTHING. I have a 97% cause I grind like crazy, so this isn't laziness or slacking. RUN.
An easy grader but gives a lot of work.
