nice enough person, but class seems to be a little unorganized. Tests aren't too bad, but labs are not explained well and she doesnt give very good direction.

She made the class interesting and it's obvious that she has a passion for the subject. The main problem was her lack of organization. It was difficult to keep all the changes straight, however it didn't prevent me from doing well in the class. I still aced it. THANKS MRS. R.

She gives way too much info, no study guides for tests ever, long & confusing labs, pretty easy tests though, tough grader (esp on lab writeups), makes it very clear right away.. it will be a hard class & she will not help you.

No, don't take her class. She uses her old DePaul tests (Finally realized this after she mentioned she taught there) This teacher smiles when she sees her students stuggling. EWWWW. No not very good.

She doesn't do a very good job explaining anything,her notes don't make much sense,very disorganized,when you ask a question,or try to, she doesn't really answer it.She seems nice but if you are going on to do anything in since and you need to understand bio,then i wouln't recommend her.She gives a lot of work too.Be prepared to work your tush off

she is the worst science teacher i have ever taken in my life. her class was useless and unnecessarly attnd. All she does is read of the power point, which doesn't look like she made it because she most of the time have missing pages. NEVER TAKE HER IF YOU WANT TO PASS THIS COURSE

She just reads off the powerpoints which she hasn't even made herself. Out of 35 people 12 remained at the end, we had an optional final exam, I got a B, but honestly did not learn a thing! She is so loud & boring. Tests are ok, only if you read the book, cause that's the only way you can pass!

all she makes you do is take notes all class time and doesnt teach hardly

I would not recommend this teacher. Her exams are very hard and she is not very available for help. I think she (wrongly) assumes that no one in the room cares about learning biology. Seems like she has a lot of practical experience, but she doesn't bring it to the classroom.

She was the worst professor... She made bio boring and hard.. she lectures using the powerpoint and class hrs only consumed by copying... she dont explain and no elaboration of the concepts.. and exams were all HARD! tho she dropped lowest one but still it's not enough! I got C tho.. i regret taking her! but she was helpful at times! Dont take her!

Very nice person & you can learn a lot if you have time to do a LOT of homework & studying. She doesn't have office hours to help when you need it & VERY tough tests even when all multiple choice. She uses the text often with homework & by often throwing in exam questions not always covered in lecture. Careful-she could ruin GPA of an A student.

This is a very difficult professor. Lectures were very boring and test were VERY, VERY HARD! You will have to work incredibly hard and memorize everything if you want to do well with her, if not, your GPA will suffer.

she goes through powerpoints and doesn't make it interesting so its hard to pay attention. She also goes through them too quickly and if you ask her to put them on blackboard she laughs in your face saying if i did that no one would ever come to class. her tests are hard and she doesnt offer much help when you ask her question. AVOID THIS CLASS!

No lie, I took this womans class about 3 years ago and I had to come on this site to tell the truth about her. She is not encouraging. She is stand-offish. Her work, labs, and tests are beyond difficult and if you ask her for help she really seems aggrivated and uncaring.She once told the class that being a teacher wasnt her 1st job of choice.

She is a terrible teacher,, if that's what you call he. She is someone who shows up to the classroom but is a spectator. She is not qualified to be a teacher and College of dupage needs to really examine there teachers before hiring them. She needs to be removed from teaching.

She expects a lot of interaction and try's to be hands on, but in a 2 hour class she only lectures for maybe 15 minutes. Everything I've learned in this class has been learned outside of the classroom. She gives you everything you need to know for the exams, so as long as you study you are fine. However, nothing is actually taught in the classroom

She doesn't teach... She relays on you to do a lot of ch. questions before class. All she does it a lot of group work and tries to do "fun" activities. By the end of the semester there was only 20 people left out of 60. By mid term the whole class was failing. She is every strict on test and lab reports. Don't waste your time or money. Only take her if you are willing to teach your self biology in great detail. You must have a great understanding of biology before taking this class in general.

Robinson gives about 7 exams throughout the semester around 65 questions, short answer and multiple choice. You're assigned homework every night and expect to understand it all. doesn't review the chapter in lectures deep enough for comprehension. I need to understand science for my major, and I didn't learn a thing. I would not recommend Robinson

She assigns almost an unrealistic amount of reading each week. I'm talking three chapters a week almost back to back. I had class Mondays and Wednesdays, lab Tuesdays, and there was a chapter due Monday and two chapters due Wednesday. She won't curve tests and takes points for attendance. She does have previous tests online, which are helpful.

Not a great teacher by any means , struggling to maintain a B , test averages have been low 70s and mid 60s for my class . Gives way too many tests and does not , i repeat does not prepare you for whats on the exams. Past exams provided are very hit or miss and she forgets to post the answers to them.a lazy professor who doesnt care for students .

Melanie Robinson was mediocre at best. Her tests were nothing like her homework so you had to prepare using YouTube and different professors. Had a monotone voice the whole lecture so it was very difficult to sit there for two hours. Did provide extra credit which helped out a ton. Just make sure you complete your hw and study 5 days prior.

Lots of group projects and lots of reading. She can come off as rude but its whatever. Class material was unorganized, but maybe that was just the college's website and the other sites they used. I understand online school can be hard, but assignments were all over the place and on different sites. It was very hard to keep track of.

Absolutely no. Instructor comes off rude which is whatever but it makes you not want to ask for help. She does give extra credit but homework and labs are scattered across like 3 different platforms. Don't take this professor if you struggle with biology!

This class was tough, for an intro-level course. There was a decent amount of reading, and a lot of test questions focused on deep reading facts, which no course does. Also, sometimes she would make up assignments just to make sure that class would not end a minute early, and she is a tough grader, especially on lab responses.

Starting the semester MR gave out her #. Messaged her: my book order being late & asked for more time to finish an assignment w/ a clear understanding that I would get my data from someone else. Her response was "First of all they have the books in the bookstore so I don't know what their issue is. Second, do your work you cannot turn it in later"

Would not take a class with her again. She is unorganized, does not respond to emails, is rude, and unhelpful overall. Participation/attendance is a large part of your grade, and she is very strict. This class is homework/reading heavy. The homework is questions from the textbook, but it poorly reflects exam topics/difficulty. Oral exams frequent.

She's not as rude as many reviews suggest, but she's not a great teacher, either. She reads her slides verbatim, her homework and labs are disorganized, and they may not align with the exam content, which can also contain errors. Extra credit is given only during tests, and expect filled notebooks. Overall, she's mediocre and not very engaging.
