She was a pleasant prof. Covered material in great detail. Exam was fair and easier than most. She offered assistance when needed. Great course!

Knows her literature! Friendly and accessible, but strict policies in syllabus. Do your work, submit revisions, and you will succeed. She is funny, too.

Had her for two english classes, 105 and 106. Very strict but if you do what she askes she is fair and you will pass. Very easy to deal with. Knows her stuff!!

This prof is super helpful and creative. Her classes were always engaging. She grades hard, but gives you a chance to revise. Don't be late, though.

At first I was scared to take her class because of the rumors that I heard, people say she is very hard. Don’t get me wrong, her class is a lot of work, but you learn a lot in just a few weeks. Now I feel a lot more confident when I have to write a paper for a class.

Professor Turanno is a fantastic teacher. She is very helpful and if you pay attention to her short notes and ask questions, you will do great in her class. If you are thinking, "I can't wite, this class is going to be terrible." Don't worry she will help you understand what you are doing and tell you your mistakes.

I enjoyed Professor Turrano. Her class was definitely a challenge, but she is always available for additional help and direction, regardless of the question. I chose to enroll in ENG106 with her again because I really did enjoy her the first time around.

Turrano is the best writing teacher I have had. She helps you out alot. She isn't one of the teachers that just grades papers and hands them back not telling you what you did wrong or how you can improve. She loves her job and students and she is always available if someone needs help with their writing. If you need a writing a class take Turrano.

The professor has a passion for english, and wants to share this passion with students. Notes provided are clear, professor is always available. This is an online course, professor should edit all rough essays to help the students learn to the fullest extent, leaving it up to the students is not a good idea.

I took English 105 online with Professor Turrano. She was the only instructor I had that held regularly organized chat sessions for help.

Class was well organized, and although not an easy class grading was very fair.

I took Turrano for creative writing online last summer. I loved that class (mostly because I love to write). There is some creative non-fiction, so, if you're like me and aren't comfortable writing about your own life you will struggle at first; but, hang in because the creative fiction and poetry come soon after and it?s great. I recommend her!

I took this class online. she is very strict on deadlines for papers. She will not grade all of the grammar because she believes it is your responsiblilty to go to educational support services. I have taken online classes before, and I think this is the better online class. The teacher responds quickly to emails,etc. Easy A if you work hard for it!

Melanie Turrano is one of the best teachers I ever had. Brit Lit was not a subject I wanted to study but she made this class a lot of fun. She was able to relate our readings to today's society. The class was a lot of in class discussion which made everything easier to understand and made the class a lot more fun. I would strongly recommend her.

I took this class as well as ENG105 with Prof Turrano online and both times I was impressed with how well she laid out the material on the website (some online classes I've taken have info scattered all over!). She is good about responding quickly to questions but deadlines are strictly adhered to. :-)

Professor Turrano is an AMAZING teacher. I did ENG 105&106 online with her. She helped me out and guided me throughout the course. Despite the #of emails she probably had to respond to she never let me realise that. I felt like i got personal attention from her even though it was online. She is absolutely amazing!I bet U will not regret!

I had Professor Turrano for English 105 last semester and loved her class so much I signed up for English 106. Her course is extremly well organized and as long as you follow the course content you should do great. I have taken only online classes thus far and her class is laid out better than any I have taken before.Get ready to do peer editing!

She was very thorough. She made some really good points regarding the necessary formats of papers. She made writing papers easy. I wouldn't have been half as prepared for Grad school as I was if I hadn't been taught by Melanie Turrano. I graduate this May with a Masters of Divinity from Evangelical Theological Seminary. Professor Turrano was a helpful teacher i will give her that, but if you are unable to hand something in on time because life comes up, she threatens to drop you from the class, and doesnt really try to work with you.

Prof Turrano was organized, thorough and helpful. In regard to the rating left below, I have to say that I completely disagree. She has a weekly assignment schedule posted that explains exactly what is due and when it is due, and she responds very quickly to emails. Grow up, this is college...maybe you deserved to be dropped.

I took her online class. This is a very work intensive course, but Professor Turrano is very fair and understanding. She really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. It is refreshing to know that there are teachers who still care about their students.

Pr Turrano was extremely helpful throughout the class. When I expressed my difficulty understanding a concept, she took the time to further explain it until I had a full understanding. It really helped!

I recommend Prof. Turrano, highly. I took her for 3 classes while I attended LCCC and she knows her stuff. She may come off harsh, or as if she has favorites, but that's not the case at all. Since transferring to a 4 year university I have used every skill she taught me. If your willing to learn, she is one of the best Professors I have ever had.

Ms. Turrano is a great instructor. Had her for English 1 - 2 days after class was over, I was challenged with direct quotes and citations. The class paid off. This was a great summer online course. Presentation of the course was complete with an outline of the required readings from the start. You could work ahead or just maintain the required week's work. Presentation included useful information and insight that allowed the student to be successful and develop an appreciation for British Literature.

Took Brit Lit this summer. Professor read many poems to us, used video, and even recorded some lectures. Brit Lit is not a course that should be offered online, but Professor Turrano did a great job. Students must do reading and bio reading of authors. Good summer course.

Professor Turrano is fantastic. She is not an easy professor - her expectations are high, but, she is good at what she does. If you're not a slacker, and put forth your best effort, you will do well in her course.

She is a great teacher! In English 105 she really spells it out for you how to write good papers! She sticks to her rules, and attendance is mandatory; she has high expectations but if you do the work it's an easy A. I definitely learned so much in her class that is important for other classes too.

I was not looking forward to taking an English class, yet I had 2 with Professor Turrano. Both ENG 105 and 106 were hard, with a lot of essays, but Professor T as an excelent way of setting up the online work, that made it a little easier. Prof. Turrano was a reasonable professor. She doesn't give out an easy A, but if you show that you are willing to do the work, she offers help. She was lenient with some students who gave good excuses for late work, but don't press your luck. She is sweet and a great teacher to have for your first college English course!

Great teacher! I would definitely take Professor Turrano again. She is very fair with grading and gives students an opportunity to revise their work if they did not do well the first time. Professor Turrano has a very good teaching style. She forces students to actually read the material by giving quizzes often, and she loves to hear people's opinions when it comes to stories read in class. My only issue was her grading. She would grade a paper, I would make corrections and hand it in, and then still recieve a lower grade.

Professor Turrano was one of my favorite teachers because she inspires you to become a better writer. She even gives you the chance to revise your essays for a better grade. She is stern when grading but fair. I found her class refreshing and would take it again!

The classes that I have took with Professor Turrano have given me the tools, knowledge, and resources that I have used to succeed in many other courses. She is a passionate professor who goes above and beyond to help her students. Genuine and funny. You will enjoy coming to her classes. Her courses are not the easiest, but believe me, worthwhile.

Tough but fair grader. She cares about our writing and wants us to be better. Always about a month behind on grading. Always responds to emails and is available for outside help.

In Turrano's online class, you should definitely read the writings for quizzes, but other than that I didn't really use either book; I did not touch the Easy Writer book at all. She gives amazing feedback on essays and really wants you to succeed. It may take her a day or two to respond to emails but she is eager to answer any questions.

Professor Turrano was my favorite professor so far. She takes the time to really help you get the best grade possible and she is very personable! I would definitely recommend taking her!

Professor Turrano is tough but fair. I gained so much from her class. The biggest difference is more confidence in my writing skills. She is very accessible outside of class and will answer any questions you may have. She will also provide help outside of class hours by email. I am taking two more of her classes the next semester.

Dr. Turrano is a good professor. Although she can grade somewhat hard on papers, she is very fair. Allows you to resubmit papers after giving feedback rather than just giving you a bad grade.
