She is an excellent professor, and explain everything like a small child class. With her I am pretty sure that you going to learn what do you need.
I have never written a review of a professor, so this post should hold weight. Dr. Ulrich is an outstanding professor. I'm taking her Microbio class & am enjoying it. She is engaging, VERY helpful, down-to-earth and very intelligent. She provides review questions for her exams & they are straight forward. She is outright awesome. Take her classes!
Professor Ulrich is awesome. I have her for Bio lab. The labs are usually quick and easy. Her tests are pretty straight forward. Make sure you study because she always has short answer parts of the exam. She is great about answering emals and is very accommodating.
Dr. Ulrich is by far one of the best professors that I have ever had. She really enjoys Biology and it makes you want to be as enthusiastic as she is. She is not going to hand out an Easy A, you really have to work hard in this class but I learned a great deal. She is encouraging and will help you in anyway that she possibly can. Take her!
Best teacher I ever had in the science realm. Taught a lot of material that not only made sense but was actually fun to learn. I highly recommend her class although I must warn you to DO HER REVIEW QUESTIONS FOR EACH CHAPTER! Isn't an easy A but it is a great class.
Not an Easy A and she makes you work for it but she is Awesome in helping you understand the information. Best teacher I ever had! Loved her!
class is fairly easy as long as you do your part. She explains everything in a way that makes sense to everybody. She gives study guides to all her test. attendance is mandatory! I will defiantly be taking her for micro.
This professor has been very helpful to me through the entire semester. Her tests are fairly easy if you use the study guides she provides. Barely need the text book. All power points from lecture are posted online. Will mark off points if you don't attend - attendance is a must! One of the best professors I have had at Edison!
She was awesome. cant wait to take her for micro. she is clear and patient and if you do her test reviews then you should have no problem passing her tests. She's always there to help and a pleasure to have as a teacher.
I took her for lab and it was not super easy but it wasn't hard either. Just do everything she ask you to do, study the reviews she gives you for every quiz and test you have and youll do fine. She is a little meticulous on her lab sheets but she is great! Highly reccomend for lab and i wish i had taken her for lecture.
She is very nice and willing to help her students. this is not an easy A course. you have to do your study guides if you want a passing grade on exams. You barely use your book, most of what you need is in the power points.
GREAT PROFESSOR. Is clear on material & provides the PowerPoints on the portal. Do the study guides & you'll pass the exams. 4 exams and 1 cumulative final along with a MasteringBiology assignment for 20 chapters. She has a true passion for biology. It isn't easy, but with a few hours of studying each week you'll get an A. TAKE HER!
You have to study hard but she is a great Professor!
Prof. Ulrich is a great teacher! I do not have her for lecture but her lab is super easy and she gives you the steps to every experiment so that you understand how to do it. If you do not understand, she is quick to help. Her tests and quizzes are easy as well. Her classes fill up fast as well so enroll in her class quickly.
Professor Ulrich is an amazing teacher! If you can, take her for both lab and lecture. She's always willing to help, so take advantage of her office hours. Be ready to study and prepare for her exams!
Professor Ulrich is a very nice teacher and is very clear on the material showed on PPT. The exams are hard, she gave reviews that are not helpful toward the exams. Don't take her if you are not good at science!!
Dr. Ulrich is amazing! Think you didn't understand biology before? Well look no further because she is so passionate and willing to help you understand and doesn't get annoyed (or shows it) when she has to repeat herself 5 times. Great patience and she has experience with biology. Take her study study and listen.
Great Professor. Very nice and makes biology easy to understand. Her tests are short response and mulitple choice and are the study guide, so make sure you study. Has a pre lab quiz before each lab (5 questions and very easy) then a lab report which is also easy. You could pass this class with an A or B. Definitely recommend wish I took for lecture
Dr. Ulrich is a wonderful professor. Very knowledgeable and passionate about biology. Posts power points and reviews on canvas. Homework assignments on mastering biology website. Don't skip classes, pay attention, ask questions, do reviews for exams and you will be fine. It is not an easy A. You get what you put into it.
This was a divided lecture/lab class. For the lab section of the class the professor was great. Lecture, boring! Would just read from power points and then tell side stories about her family/friends. She doesn't feel that anyone who earns an "A" learns anything, so she likes her class averages to be around 75 C! She's a buyer beware professor!
Dr Ulrich is an amazing professor. The material is not easy & she is not kidding when she told us the first day of class this would be a minimum of 6 hr study per week. Do the study guides & try to get the best grade possible on homework to help average out grade with test. Taking her for Micro in the fall. :)
She's a nice lady but the tests are really hard and her review questions do not help on the test!!
If you are majoring in biology then I recommend you take her class but if you are taking this class because it is required DO NOT TAKE HER! I Took this class and failed.. She thinks her students are biology majors, this class is super hard no extra credit, no curves on tests, doesn't drop lower grade like other biology professors at Edison. Her exams are short questions, only a portion is multiple choice, so if you don't have a job and don't do anything else than attend Edison then take her.
Dr. Ulrich is a very nice professor but I would not recommend taking her unless you plan on devoting all of your time to bio. Review questions do not help on exam, she does not curve tests or give extra credit opportunities and the hw barely makes up any part of your grade. If you're a bad test taker. you're screwed.
Her tests are a little hard but her class is pretty much all lecture and she grades pretty fairly giving partial credit on certain questions. I would recommend her overall.
Dr. Ulrich is a wonderful professor. This is not an easy A but if you do the reviews & study them, do the HW, and prepare in advance for her tests you will do fine. Her tests are not easy but that is the point! Show up to class & pay attention. Gives partial credit on test questions & give bonus points on tests. Cumulative lab&lecture finals.
Good Professor. Go to class and do her study reviews before you go to class or do them while in class. This helps alot. She will help you if you need it. Gives extra credit on exams.
Professor Ulrich is outstanding. The tests are made up of the reviews she gives out and come from the PowerPoint's. Don't focus on the homework. Goes through PowerPoint's at a good pace. If you don't understand, she'll clarify. Gives extra credit on tests, also HW assignments help out your grade. Study & go to class, you shouldn't have a problem.
All she does is lecture. Makes the class boring. Hard to comprehend. Homework and tests are hard.
Professor Ulrich is awesome! Definitely recommend her to anybody who has an interest in biology. She's very personable and is extremely willing to help you if you don't understand the material. Her tests are fairly easy, if you know the concepts and where everything fits- application wise. Biggest piece of advice: DO THE REVIEW QUESTIONS!
I took Ulrich for Bio Lab and she was very clear on what she did and did not want. As long as you show up, you'll do fine.
One of the best professors I've had at FSW. She's very passionate about bio and really got me interested in it. I learned a lot in this course!
Tough! But you learn ALOT! Tests are from powerpoint and some from homework. Use study guides! Extremely helpful! Tests are straight forward and she tells you some questions & extra credit. Attendance is mandatory. Wear closed toed shoes for lab part. Just study the labs for lab tests are all short answer, the first one is hard, but they get easier.
She is very very tough, but amazing! You have to deff. work for your grade. If you just talk to her through out the term you will be fine. make sure you do the homework on time. great proff.
Really easy! She gives plenty of extra credit opportunities if you attend class! She's not lenient on due dates for Connect assignment so stay on top of those and ask for help if you are confused. Study guidesreviews are provided for tests; complete those and an A is attainable.
Her tests are hard. you must study. wear closed toed shoes for labs. if you miss a class good luck staying on track.
IF YOU TAKE HER PREPARE TO STUDY 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE TESTS, AS SHE calls them exams not tests exams!!! Extremely tough exams hence plural. I'm not writing this to scare you. I'm typing this to warn you to find someone else for bio. Overall ,she is nice but her lectures are boring and dull. Dont take her if you want to study day after day of bio.
Super nice and easy for bio lab!! Everything that you need to know are in her LECTURES that are in the beginning of each class (and in the lab manual of course) so make sure to pay attention and write down notes!! Gives out extremely helpful study guides. Tests contain part multiple choice, part short responses, and sometimes extra credit.
Very helpful with her students. A lot of studying required. Gives review sheets to study from, which are helpful. Fair grader. Pay attention in class and read extra credit readings. Fun class, but gotta work hard and don't take AP2 while taking this
Melanie was a amazing professor in my opinion her test are hard but they are exactly what you study from the study guide. Don't be upset if you fail the first test because i started out with a D and I passed the class with a B. It is possible to pass you just have to put effort and study weeks in advance.
Professor Ulrich was honestly the best science teacher I've had during college. She always gave us powerpoints in lecture and she would make reviews for the tests. The tests would only be on the reviews she made, no surprises like how some professors do. She is super friendly and helpful. Wish I could retake regular biology with her!
Definitely one of the BEST professors anyone can have! Very organized, always prepared, power points are clear and well-explained, and tests are (although difficult) are ones you can prepare for because she gives you pointers for review. I learned a lot from Dr. Ulrich! FSW should hire more of the same caliber!
I have taken Dr. Ulrich for both biology and microbiology and love her! I have learned so much from her, I wish all teachers worked as hard as she does. For microbiology work hard, record lectures, and study reviews and you will succeed. She does not spoon feed!
4 exams + finals, the Pre-lecture homework and post lecture little quiz really helps your grade. She does extra credit in class. Last but not least she makes sure you understand the material, she's very understanding.
She not an easy grade, so you really have to study at least two weeks prior to each exam. Her reviews are 100% linked to each exam, so make sure you study those and you're set. She reads directly from powerpoints in class and posts them all online so you don't need to attend each class, but she offers EX.C on some days only when you are present.
I have taken Dr. Ulrich for biology lab and lecture and now microbiology. She has been amazing. Her lectures are interesting and she makes them fun. She gives review questions which her tests are based off of them. She is very helpful outside of theclassroom. Her class overall is great. She is not so big on attendance for lecture but lab is a must!
Lab is easier than lecture. Reads off power points and tests are hard. For each class print out the study guides to bring to class because that is how you will pass the class. Drops lowest grade if the final exam is better than your lowest test. Overall you have to work for your grade, nothing in that class is handed to you. Study in advance!
She's a very sweet person but the tests are pretty tough. I also don't like all of the online work she uses
Professor Ulrich is by far the best professor I have ever taken at FSW! She truly loves what she teaches and is very helpful. Her lectures are very detailed. In order to get a good grade you have to study though, her tests are not easy. She does give review guides for each test though. I would definitely take her again!
Dr. Ulrich is one of the best professors I have ever had. Her exams are not easy though and they require a lot of studying. All homework is done online, there is pre-lecture reading with questions and post-lecture questions. A perk of coming to class is that she offers extra credit. By the end of the semester I earned about 30 extra points.
She is an amazing professor. You learn so much and she puts it in a way wear you really get it!!! Would take again.
I'm not sure if she is a human or an angel. I loved her class, she gave me hope for my future. She is intelligent, sweet and helpful. Love this woman! She gives great study guides, she always thoroughly explains everything, she is always willing to help you and answer any questions.. Basically she is a saint. Taking her for microbio!
BEST professor @FSW. She made me love BSC+MCB, like I wish I could take more bio classes. Has field experience/quick stories to make it relatable. Do the work & you'll pass. Firm but approachable persona. Stickler for close-toed shoes in lab. She puts a lot of time/effort/care into teaching& wants you to succeed. Register for her class. Right now.
Clear lectures which are supplementary to the lecture component of biology. Doesn't use the whole 3 hour block, like most. She's very kind and will answer any questions.
She's Great!!! I highly recommend Dr. Ulrich is funny and makes it easy to understand the material. She goes off the powerpoint, so the book isn't necessary. And her tests are on the reviews only!! make sure you do the reviews, best to print it and bring to class!!! then it'll be an easy A!!!! and don't procrastinate!!!
Professor Ulrich is a really awesome teacher. You have a lot of opportunities for extra credit if you attend class, and the STUDY GUIDES ARE BASICALLY THE TESTS. Seriously, take time to answer all of the questions (she actually goes over them during the lecture) and there should be no reason you fail any exam. Definitely would take her class again.
Dr. Ulrich best professors at FSW. exams are based on power points don't buy the book only the lab book is needed. Many extra credits are offered some people don't take it, but it really helped my grade. One easy paper. A lots of home work that prepares you for the test. Don't skip lab you will not get credit for it however they are not mandatory.
One of the best teachers I've had at FSW. I'm in her non bio major lecture/lab and I love it. I dreaded this class because I hate bio but she really changed my perspective on it. Lab's are mandatory but lectures are not. Word of advice, GO. It will really help your grade. What you put into this class you will get back out.
Professor Ulrich is an amazing choice for Microbiology! She made the class fun and interesting. She brings her real world experience into the class, which makes it easier to understand. DO NOT SKIP LAB! You will not receive credit for the labs you miss. The class is a lot of work, so make sure you study the review questions!
She's a great professor. Provides review questions (great for exams). 4 exams, cumulative final, and paper. She also assigns chapter homework on canvas which are helpful for exams. She is really clear for lab. 2 lab exams, 1 final lab exam, and labs. Participation is not required for lecture but it is for lab. I recommend going to lectures.
Prof. Ulrich is an amazing professor. She condenses the material which can be overwhelming into fair study guides and gives us on hands on lab projects. I feel like I actually learn something from her, and I am actually upset that her class is ending!
Dr. Ulrich teaches based on power points, gives an assignment for every chapter. About 8 chapters per test. She'll give reviews for her test, but they're broad. Wish she was more specific. Her test are tough. You will hear everyone complain about how hard it is to study for her test. There's just so much material. Do not take her class lightly.
Prof. Ulrich is AMAZING. I took her for Bio and Microbio and she never disappoints. She gives you a study for every chapter. Show up, print the study guide, she'll tell what to write down, study all questions, and get an A. The study guide is the exact material on the test, not word for word but it is the same concept. She makes it fun to learn.
Professor Ulrich is GREAT! I had her for Microbiology and she is very informative and helpful. You will have to study ALOT for her class, she gives a lot of opportunities to bring your grade up w/ HW but her tests are difficult. You don't need the book, I would just rent it from the Library just for potential bonus questions on the test.
She really knows her stuff! I personally am not good in science courses, but her set up of the lecture and lab was perfect and super easy. As long as you take advantage of the study guides that she gives you and pay attention in class, you'll be able to pass.
Get to class, show you care, takes notes, smile and participate! Loved her lectures, literally the review questions are all you need don't buy the book! Extra credit: gives you small articles to read, pick out the general facts and move on. Don't be afraid to mess up during lab, you're only graded until the end. Trust me, you'll love her.
I thought I was going to struggle in Micro, however she was a great teacher. Everything that is on the power point will be on the test, you just have to study and take her class seriously. Extra credit is included, only textbook you need is a Lab book. Lecture isn't mandatory but lab is. Lab was easy just pay attention and show up.
Professor Ulrich is knowledgeable in her field and overall a caring person. The material is interesting, but you need to understand the material, dont just read the PowerPoint. She doesnt require attendance for lectures, but I recommend attending. She will walk you through labs. Only the lab manual is needed for the course.
She provides you with everything that you will need to know to pass her class. Lectures are not mandatory but I would recommend going to them. Everything that she lectures in class and that is given on the study guides will help you pass the class. In other words study and show up.
Dr. Ulrich is the best micro professor!!! Highly recommend it! I learnt much more than I expected!! Attend every lecture and study, and it would be an easy A. Lab was very simple, again all you have to do is actually SHOW UP to class! She gives great feedback!!
Best micro prof don't go for anyone else. Seriously she highlights every key word you need to know for the test and will test you on it. Her online assignments are usually on quizlet and the question reoccurs on the test. No surprises. Make flashcards and memorize! Literally easy if you put in time and show up. labs are easy too she does it w you
Dr. Ulrich is an amazing professor! I would love to take another class with her. It's not mandatory to attend class, but does help. Lab is mandatory. Lectures are from power points you can print w/ key points to highlight/study. If you study, you'll pass with an A. She is helpful, caring, gives extra credit, & funny.
EXCELLENT PROFESSOR, CARING AND RESPECFUL. BE PREPARE TO STUDY, TOUGH SUBJECT BUT SHE HELP YOU A LOT. AMAZING PROFESSOR!!!!!!
Dr. Ulrich is a wonderful professor she is extremely intelligent and caring. She is also funny!! There is a lot to learn for this course but she makes it all seem so easy. She teaches with passion and love. Labs are fun just listen/read all instructions. HIGHLY recommend her.
Very hard class but very good teacher. gives study guides for each chapter. Do the study guides and study them and you will pass. She also gives the answers to the study guide questions during lecture.
One of the best professors I've ever had. Microbiology is a difficult subject and there is no way around it. If you study hard and show up to lecture and lab every day you'll make an A.
She is like the best of the best. Highly recommend her for microbiology. Shes awesome. Labs are mandatory attendance , clear grading criteria.
Professor Ulrich is the one of the best professors I've ever had! She has four exams, a simple case study, and short Canvas quizzes for every chapter and lab. The exams are not too difficult if you use her study guides, write down the things she highlights in lecture, and take the time to study. She is very funny and caring. Take this professor!
This class through online has given me a headache with no constant help on how to pass the tests or guidance for better improvement. I felt I was set for failure since things are set as self teach on what may or may not appear to be on the tests.
I truly enjoyed taking Professor Ulrich's class. You can tell she is extremely passionate not only about microbiology but about teaching. Her lectures were always interesting, funny, and actually makes student want to participate and have conversations. She was also very patient and understanding during this difficult time of the pandemic.
Professor Ulrich is the best Microbiology professor! she cares about her students success to pass the class and always willing to help out. She responds to emails quick . Her lectures were not boring and she makes it fun. Please do not cheat on her exams she'll catch you and take it to the furthest extent it can go. Your gonna have to study
A professor who is obviously passionate about teaching and microbiology. She truly cares for her students success.
I took this class on Zoom, meeting were mandatory, she interacts during zoom to know who is following along. she reviews a lot for tests, and cares about her students
Took her start of pandemic , she was rude , horrible. She would say how much she didnt like doing this online. Dropped her as fast as I could .
Ulrich has been one of the best professors I have ever had. She is always willing to help and absolutely wants the best for her students. She goes above and beyond to help every student and provides great feedback on assignments. You definitely have to study for tests but she gives a very helpful study guide. Take this course!
Professor Ulrich is a great teacher. If you are going to take her Microbiology class prepare for homework. She allows you to skip ahead as much as possible. If you are looking for an easy A, this might not be the class for you. She is a fair grader and gives you feedback necessary for you to succeed.
Only 4 exams. Exams are worth 55 percent. Exams are PROCTOR, includes multiple choice, selected all that apply, written question etc. Maybe cover 3-4 chapters in each exam. Picky grader. This is far the hardest class I have taken.
Professor is a tough grader so you better put a lot of time into the class. If you are looking for a slow pace class this is not the one. The test are proctored and it's hard to study when everything is online. Assignments are fair however, there is a lot of them. She can be very hard when it comes to grading assignments so be aware.
Teaches from power point and has review, study guide send out. But there's Lots of homework, quiz weekly, discussion post, pathogen assignment. 4 Exams 1 final PROCTORED select all that apply, written, matching, multiple choice. About 16 module, each probably cover of 3-4 chapters. Final project. Not about memorizing but UNDERSTANDING. Tough class.
Dr. Ulrich is an amazing teacher and she really cares about her students. Microbiology is not an easy course but she really goes out of her way to make sure you understand it. I enjoyed her projects and the only thing I could complain about is remembering to turn things in before 1 pm.
I was worried what this class was going to entail but Dr. Ulrich made the content easy to understand and was always available to help! The weekly Zoom meetings were extremely helpful and she really wants all her students to succeed. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to really learn Microbiology or Biology in general.
She is not a bad professor, she will help you as much as she can. Her material is super heavy, I struggled more because she would flip the question around to see if you know it. Exams are proctored and worth about 55 percent. Another thing is that she has one assignment due everyday at 1pm. Be ready to be active, study super hard! Not an essay A
Professor Ulrich is wonderful! Microbiology is a hard class, but Dr. U explains everything clearly and makes it understandable. There are lots of assignments, but they are all designed to help you understand the material better. Lectures and power points are posted online, so you can review them. She gives you everything you need to be successful.
This course is very heavy on lecture. I took this class online using webex, please make sure to pay attention to what she wants you to learn. Mlm will have excessive information that is not needed. Very HEAVY test, 55% of your grade. Take advantage of practice questions for tests. Not an easy A, and 4 proctored tests plus final.
Dr. Ulrich is wonderful! The course requires you to not memorize but to understand the concepts behind the material. She provides Power Point presentations as well as video lectures and weekly online Zoom meetings that are a BIG help in understanding the chapters. I would absolutely take another class with her again.
This is probably one of my favorite teachers. The only down side I have is she has assignments due at 1pm throughout the week. They are very easy to complete by then. Her zooms are optional but if you attend them she sends you review guides she goes over from the zoom. They have questions from the test. Do the chapter notes w/lectures.
Most test questions aren't even multiple-choice, they are written and you have to explain your answer. I got a 65 on the first exam and emailed her about it. She congratulated me on doing better than the average score. The study guides are excessive with so much information that it's hard to pinpoint what exactly you need to know for the tests.
The class material is heavy. There are about 12 assignments due weekly. You have to read the textbook for each chapter, lab, and take three or more MANDATORY practice tests, discussion, a lab quiz, and a chapter quiz. Also, do a study guide with PowerPoint and watch a lecture video that does not help you with the exam! IMPOSSIBLE TO PASS. DO NOT TAKE
So sweet and extremely helpful. Her class is easy but only if you do the work and pay attention to the lectures because her proctored tests have written responses. She also gives extra credit and study guides that correlate well w her tests. Best micro professor at FSW!
Very tough class, you are better off reading the whole chapter straight from your book because her tests have nothing to do with her powerpoints
It is very hard online. She uses ProctorU which is an extremely stressful platform. You have to know specifics on the test, a lot of free responses. Lots of assignments. probably could've gotten a better grade if I put triple the amount of time in. I work full time and got a B-, but it took a lot of my time.
Dr. Ulrich knows what she's talking about and I enjoy her lectures. With that being said, it's a lot of work. Microbiology is not my fav subject tbh (it's also a hard course). If you don't stay on top of your work you can easily fall behind. My advice: try to do and turn in all the assignments, study and stay on top of your work.
Dr. Ulrich is the most caring professor I've ever had. She will make time to meet with you if there's something you don't understand and she provided extra credit. My only complaint is that a few of the questions on the exams are on things she didn't mention in the lectures. I was worried about the cumulative final, but it was the easiest exam.
Professor Ulrich was a great professor, there were a lot exams to take and a lot of assignments. There is multiple assignments, but it is very worth it. I am not a great test taker but having lots of assignments helps balance out the low scores that I achieved on tests. She is very helpful, so dont be afraid to reach out.
Dr. Ulrich is a PHENOMENAL Professor. She's caring, loves teaching & is always available to her students. Her class is tough & material-heavy, but doable if committed. Sadly, there was a death in my family (left the country ASAP), while abroad my daughters were in a car accident (needed surgery), etc. I couldn't withdraw in time & got my 1st F ever
I am not sure if her teaching style was not a match for my learning style or if the class itself was difficult. Overall, this is the hardest course I have ever taken and I will probably have to retake it at some point. Make sure to watch every lecture and take notes, this class is not one that you can breeze through. Good luck.
Want to keep a good GPA? DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. Does not grade until end of semester. Exams require you to write why you think the answer is correct (no criteria). Homework due everyday, at 1PM. Makes YOU throughly grade your own PEERS, yet still does not grade timely. Professor is enthusiastic on the subject, but makes you hate it with work load.
Took Dr. U for micro and it was extremely stressful. Lots of assignments due in a short time period & they were hard. Did not grade assignment until last week of the semester making it hard to know if you are doing it correct. We did a review session before tests, but for the final, she canceled the review the day of and never rescheduled.
I took this class in the fall of 2024 as a live inkine for micro. It was extremely stressful. Exams were 65% of your grade we had such a heavy workload. The fact that most these assignments weren't graded until the day before grades were due amazed me. You had no idea what your grade was going into the final exam. It just was very discouraging.
Dr Ulrich was a good professor when I attended class. She shows that she is caring and really loves to educate about the topic of microbio. I think she was a little distracted the fall 2024 semester because her husband was sick a lot. It took away from class time because she canceled class and even canceled the last review for the final.
Her exams are super hard she makes you type and explain answers. Shes in the group me which she isn't supposed to. She watches your exams back when she's grading*most teachers don't so good luck she takes online teaching way so serious for a teacher who is horrible at teaching. Don't recommended at all !!
Hard exams but micro is hard. If you study, look at study guides & clicker questions you will be ok. Great lectures. She answers any questions we have in groupme & flexible when we had technical issues. Do packback to get extra credit. Good time management is a must as stuff dues at 1. Reach out to her if you have problems with the materials.
There is a lot of work, and the way she has everything set up between Canvas and McGraw-Hill is so confusing. I'm currently taking this class and wasn't able to get a laptop for class until 3 days after classes started, and by then I was already behind on 20 assignments for her class!
Dr. Ulrich is by far one of the most caring professors I have had in my 7 years of college courses. She is open, honest, and very helpful. She narrated video lectures for my specific class, and I found it to be more useful than simply just posting them. She was accessible for any questions, and even offers discussions for extra credit. 10/10
This is probably the worst professor I've had. All the work is due at 1pm everyday which is not convenient for online learners who value flexibility. She goes through and rewatches everyone's testing videos that are already proctored and comments on them. It's excessive. If you can take someone else I 100% would. I don't recommend her at all.
Professor Ulrich is incredibly caring and makes a hard class fun. Love her. Microbiology is a HARD class. This class is not about memorization. You actually need to learn the concepts. There are extra credit opportunities. There is a LOT of homework. Use your calendar and work ahead. Pay attention to the study guides, clicker questions, and Kahoot.
Would not recommend taking her. Takes about 4 weeks to grades exams so if your an anxious person RUN. LOTS of homework. Everything due at 1:00PM. Exams are 50% Written. Lectures helped but more cons than Pros :(
This is a college level course, so of course it can be difficult. However, she made this so much easier to understand by breaking it down and providing students with mnemonics. The online zoom class is the way to go. The test is heavy on clicker questions, kahoot, and identical to the power points. I LOVED her! And she provides tons of EXTRA CREDIT
Dr. Ulrich, by far, is my favorite professor here in FSW. She made everything easy and will help you if you need to. Her exams are worth a lot 65% but the other 35% you can easily maintain a 100 on really.. She offers extra credit and 5% packback if you do it. ALSO, do the ZOOM classes. She dumbs down the material.
Dr. Ulrich is a great online professor, but the exams are not easy. Microbiology is heavy and memorization won't work. Lectures help only if you read first. Assignments are easy but everything due at 1 PM. Exams are tough and unique, so do all extra credit, use office hours, and avoid taking this with anatomy if possible. Good luck!
