Being honest the class is not so easy, but the professor is super helpful and caring. If you go to her for help she will help you a lot. Read the book before hand that is what will help with the clickers question. And if you are preparing for med school all this material will come for the MCAT

Learning about cells types , tissues and organ system was a wonderful experience for me. Professor Ribeiro is excellent! Yes, her test can be rough, but she is willing to help you for as long as you need in order to understand the materials. She provides good materials such as worksheets, Iclickers and PowerPoint that supplement the information from the textbook. The textbook is your best friend tho and reading before class is crucial

I really enjoyed taking histology with Professor Ribeiro. You really get a chance to solidify your knowledge as the graded clickers force you to read the book and strive to understand the material. Read the chapter before class and take notes. Trust me, it serves as a good way to familiarize yourself with the info before test time.

Class is very straight forward, if you follow her tips you'll do fine. Test are straight from the very small textbook and ppt slides, no tricky stuff AND she drops the lowest test grade. Lectures help incredibly, would definitely prioritize attending class.

I had Professor Ribeiro for Histology and Senior Seminar so I can attest that she is a great professor. She is well prepared for her classes and expects the same from her students. Melina Ribeiro is one of the best professors at FIU. The class is challenging and time-consuming but she made every homework, project, and presentation easy. It is a senior seminar class so there is homework every weak, but they are not heavy at all. The classes are mostly based on student participation, which helped me come out of my comfort zone.

The class was very textbook-based as you had to read the chapter before class to be able to complete the in-class assignments but the chapters were short (about 2-3 pages) to read and the assignments were done in groups and with the help of LAs. I really like Professor Ribeiro. Her class might be a little tough as reading the textbook is key to doing well in the class. I read the assigned chapter for the week every week and read her power points by the time of each exam and been doing well. Her lectures are ok and she is very caring and wants you to do well.

There was some negative feedback towards this professor, but it was after many students did poorly on exams. As far as difficulty goes, this wasn't a very complex course. The exams cover what we read from the book and/or covered in class. You can get an A if you read and do the assignments. Study group recommended if you find the material dense.

Coming from a business major, this class was easy. One quiz per chapter, 16 in total, and many discussion posts. You will only have to read and comment. Two exams of 50 questions. Only thing is that her "lectures" are long, confusing, and very specific. But if you do the work each week you'll get a good grade.

This is an easy professor to pick if you have to take this class its just 4 discussions and 4 seperate responses along with two non proctored exams, answers are online for those who are extra lazy but other than that this professor is really sweet and answers emails quickly as well shes also a fair grader.

This was honestly a very easy class. All assignments were easily found online and no tests were proctored. However, the discussions were kind of confusing on what she wanted. And the due dates for all assignments were at 9 am so be careful with that! Her late policies are very fair too. I would recommend this teacher to anyone that wants an easy A.

Dr. Ribeiro is an explendid professor. For anyone that is preparing for dense classes she is the perfect professor as she makes you learn from the book, although you must memorize her Powerpoints and try to understand each concept and specific parts of the "genetic machinery" from each possible angle.

Professor Ribeiro is a top professor that cares a lot about the students learning, the classes are both lecture and applicational. Group work and how efficient you understand the material are inspirational. In Histology I got to learn the content so well that I dare say you will even do expectacularly in Physiology if you take it.

She is amazing!! A great teacher this class was so fun to take and highly recommend to take with the lecture they go hand in hand and helps a lot to keep up with the work in lecture! She is a tough grader with the class activities but overall helps a lot for your tests!

I have already taken 2 courses with Professor Melina. She is so kind and respectful, I feel like I learned a lot in genetics and Histology thanks to her. She teaches really clearly and provides extra credit and opportunities for better understanding of the material. Definitely recommend .

The lecture class is organized well. However, in the lab course there were a few last minute changes in assignments but were quick fixes. Find your routine and you'll be able to finish the class ahead of time. Overall, it's not a super difficult class. Mostly quizzes, discussion boards, playposits, etc. Professor and TAs respond quickly to emails.

The class was a little difficult mostly because recognizing samples under a microscope is not one of my strength but Dr. Ribeiro help me every time I got stuck looking for something on a slide. This professor had a very simple class. She gave us 8 discussions which we could do at any point before the semester ended, as well as 16 chapter quizzes and 2 exams. The quizzes really helped with the preparation for the exams. The class was easy, but make sure to understand the key terms and topics. I took this class during the summer.

Really good professor and grading is as instructed in the syllabus. The course is fairly easy, if you do all your assignments there is no reason you should fail honestly. Human bio and lab were so easy with her. All u have to do is complete quizzes that are all open book and not proctored. U could hypothetically finish this class in a week if u wanted to, it's not a lot of work (all assignments for the semester open on the 1st day). The lab is a little more time consuming, but overall easy as well.

I had this professor for my Human Biology lecture and also lab, she was really nice, gives a lot of homework and quizzes, but you have half the semester to complete the first half of assignments, and the second half of the semester to complete the rest of the assignments a. Overall, not very hard, and a good professor that you can reach out to.

This was one of those light classes that made my semester breathable. Take the lab with the lecture because they go hand in hand which makes the exams easier. Use the textbook and learn how to identify the structures in the book and slides.

A lot of quizzes and discussions but that was all the class was about, plus they were all easy to complete. A lot of reading but no book is needed. The due dates also allow for flexibility on when you want to get the work done.

This was one of my favorite courses at FIU. Professor Ribeiro was very attentive and would answer and explain any questions you may have. She actually cares about the success of her students inside and outside of the classroom. The lab is not difficult, but tedious. If you enjoy working with microscopes and slides definitely take this course.

Professor Ribeiro is a great professor and you will learn in her class, but the sheer amount of work in her class can be a turnoff for many people. The biggest issue in the class were the lectures felt like a waste of time and i often tuned it out. The biggest help in this course was reading the textbook and going over past exams.
