Super easy class and interesting! Easy for non-science majors too! Also offers extra credit opportunities. Does some in-house participation thats good to be there for. Also does a few super easy projects, basically find a website and say how biased it is etc, which boasts your grade up!
Extremely easy class - detailed lectures make it worth your time attending. Many opportunities for extra credit, a few simple assignments spread through the semester. Overall awesome professor who deserves high respect.
She is a very nice woman. Lectures are very interesting and are posted online. Plenty of extra credit! Very easy and interesting class! I would take her again!
By far one of the BEST professors I've ever had. HIGHLY recommend taking this class with her. Tests are easy, lectures are easy to understand and posted online, lots of extra credit opportunities, few small easy projects. Loved this class! She is super nice and actually cares for her students. Also responds timely to emails which is helpful :)
Extremely boring class and material but fairly easy. Attendance is not mandatory but there are "surprise" participation points every now and then that you don't want to miss. Tons of grades & extra credit to buffer tests if needed. Drops lowest test grade. Overall a good teacher, just not a very interesting subject(in my opinion).
Class is soooooo easy, she is good teacher but you dont learn anything in class, not mandatory but she has surprise participation, the tests comes from her notes, 150$ book is not needed. Easiest A at UCF
She is really nice and sweet. Tons of extra credit (volunteer adds 5 points to your grade!) and simple exams. Lectures from slides and the slides are online, so you don't need to go to class, but there's a participation once a week. Overall really, really easy and a nice professor.
Easy, big lecture class. I would recommend it to whoever needs to get Gen. Eds done in an easy manner. PPT were online, no attendance necessary. Extra credit available, easy tests. No homework. She told my class to buy textbook - I only used it once. So careful with that.
Easy class, tests are pretty hard though. Lots of extra credit offered.
Super easy class, just stay on top of work.
Super easy class. Her tests are based on her lectures and its mostly memorization. She also gives you up to 15pts in extra credit assignments. Don't need the book, I didn't use it and I breezed through that class. There are quizzes every couple of weeks but those are a breeze too
She reads right off the powerpoint. The tests are much more in depth than her lectures. Most of my class doesn't even show up to lecture any more.
Like seriously, she does nothing. There's no point in going to class, in fact 3/4 of the class is never there. She reads right off thee powerpoint and then her test have all this info that she never talks about and aren't in the book.
Professor Donnelly is one of the worst professors I've had. She reads straight from the powerpoint and gives little clarification. Her exams have nothing to do with what is discussed in class, and her "reviews" do not help whatsoever. I go to every class, and the lectures are pointless. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR
She reads straight from the powerpoint. There's seriously no point going to class. I had to use another Professor's study guide to even study for tests because I have practically failed all of hers. Awful professor. Doesn't help at all and you have to teach everything yourself. Buy the book- it does help clarify things.
Donnelly basically read straight from her PowerPoints, and she posts them online, so there's really no point in going to class. However, I found that actually hearing her talk through the PowerPoints helped. Tests were somewhat difficult. Definitely need the book to reinforce what you learn from the PowerPoints.
She would ask that we wait until after class, but each slide builds off one another, it's hard to move on if you do not know what is going on....Also, tests were NOT a good reflection of what was taught in class. Nice person but not a professor I would recommend.. Plus reading off of power points does not mean you know the material.
Donnelly doesn't realize or look up from her lectures to see when people have questions so just ask after class. Her slides are helpful but you should use the book anyway because her test questions are pretty difficult. Just study from her slides and the book and you should be fine.
Professor Donnelly is a nice woman but there is no point to attending her class. She reads DIRECTLY from her powerpoints which she puts online so you can read them for yourself instead of wasting time. She does give a few extra credit points but its not worth the wasted time. Her tests are difficult but as long as you read the book you'll be okay.
Professor Donnelly is a great instructor to take for ecology. She offers participation points with the clicker, online quizzes, and lots of examples when it comes to the math problems involved in this course. She also offers a great deal of extra credit. Her exams come straight from her notes. Take her class if you can!
This class made me change my major, she READS DIRECTLY from her PP.But be careful she does random iclicker quizzes so you have to go through the pain and actually attend her class.Book is not needed, shes nice but I hate teachers who just read off their PP, ended up with a B but didn't really try so I guess if you want an easy A go for it. Useless!
Her lectures are extremely boring because she reads off of the slides the whole time but you have to go to class with an iClicker to get attendance points. As long as you attend class and take advantage of the EASY extra credit then you will get an A no problem. Definitely take her!
She just reads off the slides during lectures, but you have to use your iClicker for attendance. Easy extra credit. EASY tests. Easy A.
Overall really easy class. So much extra credit offered. Tests weren't horrible. Only thing is she has clicker questions and doesn't always ask them.
she was great, lectures were ok but the study guides help oh so much. just make sure you get and DO THE STUDY GUIDE and you'll do fine in the class. it's not hard and the i clicker questions are graded every day for attendance. the tests can be harder than you'd think but they aren't bad. textbook is not really needed either.
TAKE HER! Point blank. Unlimited time quizzes with two attempts just open the slides in a new tab. TONS of extra credit. I did the study guides the night before each exam, even after universal knights and got a 93 and a 100 on my two highest exams. Go to class and bring something entertaining.
Very easy class. She gives the most extra credit opportunities than any teacher I've had. Tests are straight-forward if you study. Going to class is only necessary for participation points. No need to buy the textbook, everything's posted online.
Professor Donelly is absolutely wonderful!! She's very clear, offer extra credit pretty often, and most of the info you need to know is on her powerpoint slides. The book is helpful with explanations, but I barely used it. Got an A in the class and I learned alot. She tells you exactly what will be on the final exam!
She's great! Here's the nitty-gritty: 1) Very easy class. 2) Her grading is very straight forward, and her tests are very general and fair. 3) Her lectures can be pretty boring, so I bring my phone. 4) She posts excellent lecture notes that are all you really need. I don't have the textbook. 5) Participation points based on iclicker questions.6
I loved (soon to be) Dr. Donnelly! While lectures can be boring, she posts all slides online and is open to questions. Very approachable. You really have to be putting zero effort forth in order to fail. Drops 2 lowest participation grades and lowest quiz grade. I wish I could take more classes with Dr. Donnelly.
Professor Donnelly is a great professor. Her tests are pretty easy if you just read through her slides and pay some attention during lectures. You have to buy an Iclicker for the particip. attend. grade. She drops the lowest participation grade which is calculated weekly. She also drops the lowest quiz grade. She also gives an extra 30 points EC.
She is an amazing teacher! She offers so much extra credit because she understands what its like to be a student since she was just in school herself. She knows her material and loves it which shows through her lectures. If you like biology, you'll love her ecology class!
She's great because she makes sure that students will understand her lectures. Her tests are very straightforward, where everything will be on the powerpoints. And before the tests she would have a study guide for them. Taking her class was quite enjoyable, and she will give many extra credit opportunities to students!!
Pretty easy. Just show up and answer the clicker questions and read the slides and you should be good. Tests, quizzes, and critical thinking questions are pretty easy. She offers extra credit by doing environmental volunteer work but I never did it. This is a great class if you're just looking to get those science GEP credits out of the way.
Awesome teacher to take for biological principles! I've taken the class with another professor and hated it. Took it with her and it was like a completely different class. You will not regret taking this class with her! She emphasizes environmental conservation and cares a lot about teaching about how to protect and preserve the ecosystem.
Dr. Donnelly is a great professor! It is a clicker class so you have to go to class, but she posts the power-points so don't bother taking notes. She gives A LOT of extra credit and she a very nice and genuine person. TAKE HER.
Her class may not be the most exciting, but she is helpful and it's an easy class. Go to class because you do get clicker questions, but you don't have to take notes because she posts everything online. As long as you read and study the power-points you should get a good grade in the class. She also gives a lot of extra credit so take advantage
I was dreading this class since I'm horrible at science. I ended up with a 95% because of how easy this class is. Her study guides are the best I've ever had in college, and all of the information is on the powerpoints, which she posts online. Could have easily passed this class without going if participation didn't count. I highly recommend her!
It's obvious that she really knows what she's talking about and that she is genuinely interested in it. Her lectures are interesting and she doesn't give much homework. She posts all of her lecture slides online, so if you miss a class, it's easy to catch up. She does short quizzes for in-class participation though, so don't skip too many classes.
This class was pretty easy. She drops the lowest exam and a bunch of other stuff. You have in class participation so you have to go most of the time. The quizzes are online and easy. She puts the slides online and has a review day before the exams and final. There's also extra credit. I'd take her again! DO NOT get the book.
Only 4 exams (lowest gets dropped) and a final. The quizzes are all online with 2 attempts. Many opportunities for extra credit. Tests are pretty easy and all the powerpoints are posted online. Takes in class participation grades. Overall easy class.
Prof is great! Very caring and sweet. Not going to lie this class isn't hard and she really enjoys what she does-even offers extra credit that involves helping her with her outside research. Would definitely take this again. She straight up tells you that the textbook is a waste, she posts all her lectures beforehand but she does take attendance.
Donnelly definitely wants her students to get an A. There are up to 30 points of various extra credit opportunities via volunteering, YouTube videos, etc. Material is not extremely challenging nor are the tests, the only downside is there are frequent participation quizzes that require you to attend class but the lectures are terrible.
Professor Donnelly is a great lecturer even though her lectures can be boring sometimes. She's a fair grader. Attendance is required in the form of participation quiz (each counts 2 points). She uploaded the exam review a week ahead before each exam. Questions come directly from those reviews. She has a lot of extra credits too. Easy A, indeed.
This class is very easy. Her lectures are boring and she puts all of her slides on web courses, so the only reason to go to class is participation (which is random.) She gives a ton of extra credit, so my grade increased significantly. If you study the study guides she gives you for the test, you'll get a high B on each test.
Professor Donnelly is great! This class was so easy. You have to show up to class because participation matters. 4 tests, lots of online quizzes, lots of online discussions and multiple extra credit opportunities. She posts her lectures online so just review those before the tests are you'll be fine. No book. She also drops lowest test and quiz!
You'll make an A if you submit all assignments. She drops lowest grades like most science professors and offers several extra credit assignments. All tests have study guides and most of the information is online. Could easily make an A without showing up (except attendance is mandatory). No book. Funny and helpful. Would take again.
This was honestly the easiest science course that I've taken at UCF. Most of the material was very conceptual and her tests are very straight forward. She also uploads study guides for every test. If you go over the powerpoints and study guides thoroughly then you will easily get an A or a B on the tests. You can also get by without the textbook.
Great teacher. Come to class to get your participation points which do count! Overall great teacher, straight foward tests, I went to SI sessions which helped so much.
She was awesome. Gives study guides for the tests and the tests are based off of her lectures. Didn't use the book once. Weekly online quizzes but they're straightforward. The only downside is she does iclicker for participation but it's not graded for correctness.
Wonderful professor! She was well organized and easy to reach. She's a very clear and concise professor. I would definitely take her again if I had the chance. She also offers plenty of extra credit. Had I done one more, I would've had an A. Go to class for the clicker questions.
She's a very good professor, the class was just extremely dull to me, many people loved it though. She makes it clear what she wants you to know, and her tests are very fair, but study all of her powerpoints. I didn't pick up the book once, not necessary at all. She is super helpful if you have any questions, definitely take her.
She was probably the easiest professor that I have ever taken at UCF. This class is definitely an easy A. She gives study guides for every test with everything you need to know. If you can definitely take her.
She's one of the best professors I had this semester. She posts everything on Webcourses, but her lectures help so much in understanding the material. She's always willing to help and if you do her study guides, you'll be set for the tests. Take her if you can.
Prof Donnelly is okay. She lectures from a powerpoint and you take a test. She gives study guides but sometimes it seems like they don't prepare you that well. Every assignment is important and take advantage of the extra credit. No textbook was required but you need an I-clicker for participation. Not the hardest class but also kinda boring.
Very easy class, professor Donnelly was available to help if needed, and she provided study guides for the students to use which were practically what was on the test. Great teacher and easy to follow
If you study the lecture slides and follow her outline/study guide, you will get an A. Quizlet will be your best friend for this course since it's mainly just memorization, Iclicker is needed for attendance, online quizzes every week, 4 exams (final is NOT cumulative). Overall great class, great professor!
Attendance is mandatory and used to give extra credit. No need to use the textbook at all, her ppts are everything you need to get an A. She adds on to the ppt information and gives examples in class so attending will only benefit you. I got an A on every exam just with the ppts and her lecture notes. Final is NOT cumulative. VERY EASY exams!
Honestly if you show up on review days before tests and pay attention youll pass. Tests are worth most of your grade. She drops lowest scores for almost all grading categories.
Prof. Donnelly is outstanding! She has very clear grading and drops the lowest grade is dropped for basically every category. Do the study guide and actually use it and you should have no problem. She does iclicker questions so attendance is important and she offers a ton of extra credit.
Attendence isn't really mandatory since her lectures are strictly from the powerpoints which she posts online. But you need to come to class for clicker questions (which she doesn't do every class) Be sure to do the study guides for her tests but her tests are strictly from the notes.
This class is lecture heavy but Dr. Donnelly is an AMAZING lecturer. Shes very well-versed in the subject and clearly enjoys it. Theres clicker questions every class, but you get 2 free absences. The grade is mostly dependent on tests but she has extra credit opportunities. She makes study guides for every exam which will get you an A on them.
Attendance is mandatory for the class recorded through iClicker. Do not buy the texbook. There is a lot of material but they are available as a PDF on Webcourses and it's all you need for the quizzes and tests. The class is one giant review of everything biology you've learned before UCF into a semester. Also fast reply emails and helps students.
Attendance is taken by Iclicker. Missing class will only hurt you by a few percents but these percents could be the difference in a letter grade (was for me). Lots of extra credit oppuruintys that help your grade a lot. Complete the study guides and study them you'll get an A or B
Donnelly made bio easy to understand. GO TO HER EXTRA CREDIT! I scored okay on her test, and I only went to one extra credit, and I managed to end the class with an A. I did go to her office hours and tried to put a name to the face. She's the sweetest lady and wants the best. Clicker questions can be found on the tests. Quizzes aren't horrible.
Gives lots of extra credit opportunities! Easy A, gotta show up to class to do clicker questions. Tests are pretty easy if you study, she provides a study guide. Reuses a lot of quiz questions on tests. Quizzes are all online and you have multiple attempts to do well. Shes really nice and understanding and her class is easy. No textbook needed.
Easy A as long as you show up to do the clickers, complete the online assignments, and review her study guides and quizzes before exams. She drops the lowest exam grade, but the final is mandatory. Shes pretty chill if you have a problem with something.
I took Prof Donnelley for bsc 1005. I am terrible at biology, but she made it fun and relatively easy for me. She is very caring towards her students and easy to approach. Her exams are pretty easy, just do the study guide and look over the powerpoints.
Reads off from slides. Slides may not contain the same content as the book. I had a quiz where the book had 4 bullet points, the slide had 3, and was quizzed on it. I went with what the slide said, and she stated that the fourth point was apart in the next few slides. Exam questions can be text heavy, and options for multiple choice too similar.
Professor Donnelly is one of the best professors I've ever had. Bio 2 is a lot of information and if you don't show up to class, study the book/lecture notes YOU WILL NOT PASS. This is not the class to be lazy in. Her test are fairly difficult but if you study and put in the work you'll do fine. She genuinely cares about you learning the material.
Honestly, there is no point in coming to class because she reads right off the slides. She gives study guides before the test but what I found that helped me do good on tests is print out all the powerpoint material for the test and overlook it as well as study the study guide. She really tries to make it possible for you to get an A in the class.
I went to lectures & all she just reads off the slides. Theres only 4 exams, she puts 6-10 chapters in each exam and each chapter PowerPoint is 40+ slides. Your only grades are the exams and the quizzes. If you dont pass the exams you fail the class because i got 100s on all quizzes. No extra credit, no curve, and doesnt drop any exam.
Bio 2 is a hard class on its own but, all Donnelly did was read off the powerpoint. I learned more in lab than I did going to class. If you want to pass start studying early because it is a lot of information. Her tests were very difficult for me and most of the 42 questions were huge paragraphs and had to be done within 50 minutes.
Great class easy and simple. People are lazy in this course and complain but it takes minimal effort and I mean MINIMAL to get an A. Simply go over the study guide before exams make your quizlet using it and do the quizzes youll do fine
She posts all her lecture slides. Make sure to go to class because it helps to boost your grade at the end. If you study from the study guide, you will get an A in the class. She does offer a lot of extra credit. Amazing professor.
Dr. Donnelly was a fantastic professor. Her lectures are easy to understand and she creates a study guide for every exam. There are plenty of opportunities for extra credit, both on and off campus. I would definitely recommend taking her class.
This was my second time taking biology and wouldn't want to take it with another professor. So many extra credit opportunities and all her slides are online, tests are exactly like the study guide. You really have to try to not pass biology with her.
Professor Donnelly is one of the best professors at UCF. She is super nice and caring and also gives you PowerPoint slides of exactly what she is going over. Also she gives study guides for her test which are super helpful. Attendance is "mandatory" but you can honestly do the participation thing from your room. Lots of extra credit/dropped work!!
One of UCF's best for Biology. Clear to understand, good and solid lectures, loads of notes but well worth taking them to get a clear foundation. Highly recommended and would take again at any time.
All she does is read off the slides and is not very engaging. The test cover 8-12 chapters at a time and are very specific. Would not recommend at all. Very difficult and tests are worth 60 percent of grade.
Very solid professor, always tries to make herself available for anyone that needs help. Tests on too many chapters at a time in my opinion (usually around 8-10), but the material isn't difficult at all and the tests are multiple choice so not much studying needed
Prof. Donnelly seems very nice and genuinely cares for her students. Your grade is only 4 tests and a couple quizzes. The exams covered a lot of chapters and were pretty specific even when she says they aren't. Reads from the slides so you don't really have to go to class except for random participation quizzes that she posts on canvas before class
She does participation quizzes almost every day and you need the code to access them. She pretty much just reads from the slides though so it is frustrating to have to go to class for participation when I could be at hoe reading the ppt myself.
Professor Donelley seems really nice and caring but as far as teaching all she does is read off the powerpoints. Her tests are over 8 chapters at a time and are very detailed questions. Going to class is pointless because you can review the powerpoint on your own. She doesnt curve, drop, or give extra credit. Good luck.
Prof Donnelly seems to really care about the success of her students. If you need help in the class I would def recommend doing so. That being said, her study guides for the tests are not very helpful. The tests tend to go much more in depth than the study guide. However, the quizzes do help you study for the exams.
She is an EXCELLENT professor. If you took biology 1 and did well, you'll definitely do well in this course. Sometimes the exams do have 8-10 chapters or so of information but the concepts aren't difficult and she makes study guides for every single exam. Go to lecture and do the study guides and yo'll be just fine.
Pretty easy class. Mandatory attendance. Lectures are informative and cover what's on the test, although sometimes they can be boring as she mostly reads off of the powerpoint notes that are posted online. Study guide goes over most everything that's on the test. The tests are not hard as long as you do some studying.
She's a very nice lady and the class is pretty dry, but easy. The exams are very similar to homeworks and quizzes, so they should be very easy if you just read over the main info. She bases her exams more on her lectures, but textbook gives good backing info (which she gives for free btw). The lab is also a piece of cake
Prof. Donnelly is the best bio professor I've ever had. Her course work structure is very organized and you know what to do every week. Tests are based off home works, quizzes, lectures. Tests are open book/note. Final wasn't cumulative. She's very caring and understanding. She made online class very manageable and basically stress free. TAKE HER!!
I took her class online and its not too hard. the questions on her test can be a bit confusing but overall she's great. you have weekly quiz and you have 2 attempts. she let you use notes during the test. the powerpoints slides are not long and she email back fast. take her, she's good.
Lecture videos are super long. Very few assignments and exams count for the majority of your grade so you have to do very well on those. Exams have tricky questions and many have more than one right answer. It is stressful enough to have to answer so many questions within a short time frame.
I took this class during COVID and this teacher was the MOST understanding one I could have had. She allowed open book and open notes and went through our assignments with us before we turned them in. It was great to have a teacher that actually cares for her students. Definitely take her :)
Dr. Donnelly is a super solid choice for Bio II, especially during COVID. Her course accommodates her students well, given that you read what she provides. Her lectures are long, but you don't even need to watch them. Her module notes cover everything. She also provides the PowerPoint to her lectures, so you're given everything you need to pass.
Not super hard. Tests are kinda hard but quizzes boost your grade. Read the power points and review the chapter and you should get an A.
Very understanding during COVID. Tests were on lockdown browser but you are able to use notes as well as the textbook. She also gave out extra credit which really helps if you are borderline (88%) Do good in the Lab as it is 25% of your grade. As long as you study the powerpoints, quizzes, study guide as well as active learning an A is very easy.
Super nice lady. Class was well structured. Make sure you use the SI resources and read the book. Only had a few classes that took place torwards the end of the chapters to go over her Active Learnings. They move pretty fast paced so do them before she goes over them. Read the book and you'll be good to go.
Take this professor for bio! One of the easiest core classes I've ever taken. Assignments and study guides perfectly prepare you for exams and lowest one is dropped. Lectures were not mandatory to attend, just read PowerPoints and study what she gives you for quizzes/tests. Final exam is not cumulative. I finished this class with a 98 no problem :)
Prof. Donnelly is one of the most kind-hearted professors I have had, she just radiates good energy. As for the course, its very insightful! Really dissect each of her lectures and take good notes and you will fly through the course like nobodies business. I really appreciate the effort she put into online learning, AMAZING professor!
Prof. Donnelly was great Very accessible and quick to respond to emails. I took her online so obviously things will be different, but studying for exams is ESSENTIAL. Exams are heavily weighted towards your grade, so develop some effective study habits and know the material. Know how to apply it.
Loved professor Donnelly. Lectures were always thorough and informational. Tests and quizzes were all open note and book, but wasnt really needed as she did prepare well for the exam.
Dr. Donnelly is amazing! She made the information we needed to know for exams very clear with short, to-the-point lectures, and she even posted the important/relevant sections of the textbook to webcourses so we didn't have to filter through it ourselves. Would definitely recommend!
She is a great professor and made the online experience very easy. Quite a bit of homework but all the other assignments help you grade and the your grade in the class isn't heavily weighed on tests. Class is easy to manage and clear cut.
Amazing professor, took her online and if you study her videos and add notes of things she says to her slides you should do well in her class. It's clear on what she wants you to study. Had her in a cohort class and second professor's material was very overwhelming and not clear, it burnt me out, so I do not recommend a cohort class.
Lectures are perfectly structured, not too lengthy with all the information you need for exams. Would definitely recommend her. The only thing that was unfair was that we got a new professor in the middle of the year and she had a completely different teaching style which was a curveball for us all.
Professor Donnelly really cares about her students, and she was so accommodating with teaching over zoom. Make sure to read each module multiple times and you can definitely do well in her class!
She is pretty easy going professor and minimal studying is required for her class to do well because of how well put together her lectures are. That being said you have to go to class. Her test mimics her lectures so if something seems to stand out or she is focusing on it then you probably need to know it! Great teacher all around.
Professor Donnelly is an amazing professor and I would take her class 100 times again. She has very clear and easy-to-understand lecture slides that pair perfectly with the (free!) textbook. Test and quiz material is always covered in the lecture and she dedicates the lecture before the exam to review material and answer questions.
I didn't show up to class once and got A's on all the exams by just attending the reviews. I had a really strong background in the topics of this class though. The quizzes and the participation assignments are also pretty easy, but open note if you have trouble. This was a class that allowed me to focus on my other hard classes no problem.
Professor Donnelly was amazing. Her grading is pretty clear and she has everything easily laid out in canvas. Her tests are pretty easy as long as you take notes, and you can use them on the tests! Class isnt mandatory but its still fun to go! Shes very interesting.
Professor is passionate about teaching and gives PowerPoints that are easy to follow with. She makes the lectures actually interesting. There are 4 main test worth 88% of grade, but you can use notes and textbook during it. There's a quiz each week but you can also use notes. You honestly don't need the textbook, (I got A's without reading it)
Dr. Donnelly was passionate about ecology, and she is super sweet. She gives 5 tests that are 88% of your grade, however, they are open notes. There are weekly quizzes that were not hard and a one-question participation quiz that was super simple. The powerpoints were short but informative. You do not need to read the textbook to pass.
Definitely one of the best professors I've had. I've never liked the nature side of biology that much, but her lectures were very interesting and easy to follow along. There were weekly quizzes, but they were open notes and very easy. The tests were also taken online and open notes as well. With a little bit of studying, the class is an easy A.
Love this professor. She gives plenty of extra credit (including some during class) and makes marine bio an easy course. Her multiple choice exams are based on online material, and the article presentation is graded leniently (just stay within the time limit). She has a lot of experience in marine bio, so her lectures are super interesting!
Amazing professor who truly cares about students. She wants you to succeed, & she's passionate about marine biology & conservation which is shown through her lectures. She gave extra credit near the end for attendance. I learned a lot in this class & it was low stress. Quizzes & tests are online & open note. Highly recommend her, and go to class!
Amazing professor. There is a lot of reading done for the course because it's bio2, but if you pay attention it's impossible to fail. You can tell how passionate she is through her lectures. I wish I could take her for all my science courses.
She is passionate in what she speaks about and it shows.
Attendance is not "mandatory" but theres a participation quiz, but doesnt kill grade if not taken. There was a quiz every week (lowest drop), 4 exams (lowest drop) and final not cumulative, a few active learning exercises (lowest drop). everything online including tests and quizzes. Exams are on lockdown browser but no cam, most answers not online
Fairly straight forward class. Gives extra credit. Very nice teacher, she knows her material.
Good lectures, there is a textbook but it isn't needed to get a good grade. Quizzes and exams are easy if you have a basic knowledge of ecology and review her powerpoints. There are in class quizzes but missing a few lectures won't tank your grade. Definitely reccomend taking this class
Dr. Donnelly is an amazing teacher. She has a great passion for the subject and brings a ton of knowledge to the class. Her lectures are fun and she is more than willing to answer any questions and walk you through the answers. The only real criticism is that she moves fast so you better write fast in the lectures.
The reviews don't lie, Donnelly is great and really teaches bio 2 well. Additionally your lab grade is like 25% of your overall grade in the class so be sure to do very well in the lab portion of the course. Overall, she was a good professor.
Such a lovely professor. She was very accommodating and truly knew what she was doing. Loved learning more about conservation and plant biology. TAKE HER if you have the chance. There is a bit of homework and quizzes (but they were due every two weeks or so- so it's not like you're doing work every day; it's not overwhelming).
Good professor and teaches well. Class is easy overall, but test are a little hard.
Great professor. She teaches the concepts well and there aren't any surprises when it comes to grading. There is some homework but workload is very manageable. I would highly recommend taking her.
Organized, open notes online exams, good extra credit on the end of the semester, no need to use textbooks. Lectures can be boring if biology is not your favorite subject tho
Prof. Donnelly is the best! Super easy class, explains concepts very well, and actually cares about you as a student. She has mandatory class quizzes that are password protected, so class is mandatory. Her quizzes and exams are all online, The final was not cumulative and only covered the last unit.
Love this prof! Textbook required but I barely used it; she does a great job covering the material in lectures. Exams are worth 88% of the grade, but they're pretty easy and she has super helpful study guides. Weekly quizzes with 2 attempts based on ppts and participation assignments. Extra credit from in-class participation questions helps a bit.
Literally the sweetest human ever. Tests and assessments were really easy and true to her lectures!
She was super sweet and her class was easy yet informative. Her quizzes and tests were pretty easy too
Sweet teacher who knows what she is teaching and gives you what you need to succeed. The tests themselves aren't easy I would say. You have to actually know the material if you want to get a high score. If you're aiming for mediocre then it's really easy.
Exams are very easy and material comes directly from lectures. Some textbook reading is required to understand more nuanced concepts, but the majority of the content is covered in lectures. In-class participation is a thing in her classes, so be prepared to attend the majority of her lectures.
Queen
Dr. Donnelly was awesome! Her class in Marine Biology was very memorable to me. She is super kind and gave out halloween candy near halloween. Make sure you go to lecture to stay on top of content. She plays videos sometimes to help with learning.
I waited multiple semesters to take her specifically and haven't regretted it once. She's mastered the art of getting through the whole lecture precisely by the end of class time. Incredible lecturer, super reasonable with workload, and tests are on Canvas, open book, all MC. Loved her TA too. Ask questions!!!! She's happy to clarify or elaborate.
I love Dr.Donnelly, she's simply the best. Her lectures are interesting and helpful. Her class structure is organized and thoughtful. She puts in extra care to make you feel welcome, heard and attended to. You'll have no regrets taking her class as its simple and straightforward. Obviously attend all lectures and study. We love you Dr.Donnelly!
This class is unnecessarily hard, there is no reason for the questions about the environment should be this hard. While she is very passionate about ecology, I would say many people who take her class are not as invested as her. Having this be my lowest grade while taking classes such as immuno and orgo is something that should not be happening.
Donnelly was one of the nicest professors I have ever taken here. Her lectures are nice and to the point and everything was super organized. Tests are worth 88% of your grade, but they are open note and online. Just go to class and you can get at least a B.
she made this course such a breeze, and her lectures were a joy to attend. everything is open book, but if you read the textbook and take notes you honestly won't even need that perk as the information is pretty straightforward. very easy to get an A in this course, but i slacked a little near the end. take her if you can, you'll be in good hands!
she was very excited to teach and you can tell she likes what she does. her powerpoints were very helpful to study for the exam. she also holds a review before each exam. Just study what she teaches you and you will be fine.
There are attendance quizzes in the middle of each class, so be sure to go. She gives extra credit as either a research project or research paper. The tests are 70 questions, 80 min online open note tests, they are basic level topics in comparison to what is being taught.
Dr. Donnelly is amazing! Her exams are fair, and her lectures are great. She does participation quizzes in class, so attendance is mandatory, but she gives out the answers for them in class (easy points!). She provides many different opportunities for extra credits that can add 5 points to your final grade. I really recommend her!
My 3rd class taken with her and she's great! She's passionate about what she teaches and each class has been organized, w/ online access notes, clear lectures, and explanations in class so you really get the topics. Tests are online and are easy if you study. Also went to an off-campus volunteer event with other students and it was so fun!
This professor is a very sweet person. Doing well on her exams requires you to spend 3-4 hours a week taking notes from her slides, & even then getting an A can be either just out of reach or barely attained as the slides aren't fully reliable for getting an A. Smaller assignments are few & easy, & the lab assignments are many & easy-medium diff.
She was great, all tests had lockdown browser (no camera) but open notes so it was easy to get As on her tests. Quizzes had no lockdown and were also easy, some of the quiz questions showed up on her tests. Final was non-cumulative and every lecture before the test was her going over answers to the once per module worksheets. Recorded lectures.
Everything is online and exams are in lockdown but NO camera. Each week is 3 lectures/ppts, 1 quiz, and lab assignments. Lab is pretty straightforward. Content can be a lot but exams are open note, so there's no way anyone should fail this class. She's nice but I never talked to her or attended class. You can learn the material from the ppts.
Probably the easiest professor for Bio 2 ever. Assignments and labs were pretty straightforward. The exams were also pretty easy as long as you knew the lecture material. Professor Donnelly is very kind and it's very hard to get through this class without an A.
Only about 2 assignments per week which were fairly easy. She records and uploads her lectures for you to watch. The exams are open note with lockdown browser. The lab portion however was a lot more work than the lecture portion but wasn't too bad.
great professor. exams make up a lot, but are open note, not face recorded, through lock down browser. the lab portion is online, and can sometimes be annoying and glitchy, and makes up 25% of your grade. but in my opinion, you would have to TRY to get a bad grade in this class.
overall a good professor! her lectures weren't that helpful to me because she talked too fast for me so I didn't learn much from them but attendance isn't required. open note for all the tests and non cumulative final makes this an easy course.
She offers chances for extra credit and is flexible on due dates. Her exams are on a lockdown browser, and her material is easily comprehended. She also responds to emails on a timely basis. One of the best online professors I've had.
Professor Donnelly is a sweetheart! Open note tests, easy quizzes, just don't slack. Lectures are informative, and are recorded if you can't attend the Zoom. Not a Cumulative Final. The Lab was the worst part about the class, very annoying/glitchy. DON'T miss the Essay Questions. Active Learning before each Exam helped a lot. Awesome Professor.
The class was okay since the material is mainly about plants, animals, and bacteria, which I am not really into, but it's an easy A. The labs suck, but that has nothing to do with professor. I think she's a bit boring, but that could be due to the material. She also crams a lot into one lecture, so be prepared. The final is not cumulative.
Super easy class. Professor is nice but material is boring. The lab is a Lott of work but easy assignments.
Dr. Donnelly's class was one of the highlights of my semester. As a Biomedical Sciences student who jumped straight into Bio 2, this course was a perfect and easy refresher of the key biology concepts I hadn't seen since high school. The class was fun, manageable, and I highly recommend her!
