Mendy McClure is a wonderful professor. This was my favorite class. The class is informative, and interesting. I learned a lot from SPED 524, especially because of McClure's instructing. Highly recommended class if you are interested in Special Education.

This is a great class!! The instructor is such a sweet lady and really cares a lot about her students. The class really teaches you a lot about people who have disabilities. There are assignments due each week but they don't take a lot of time and are simple. Most important thing is to show up to class. grade will suffer if you don't.

This was the best class that I have taken. It was the one class that I was always looking forward to going to. It was such an eye opening experience with all of the guest speakers. Many of them really touched my heart. I think everyone should have the chance to take this class.

Prof. McClure is an asset to SDSU. TAKE her class and learn to be humble and know what life is like on the other side of humanity. Attendance is a must, have summary of lecture done each week in class. 15hrs community service which was fun and rewarding, if you can't do it then there is extra credit to supplement. Easy A! If you want to lighten your load, take this class! It is a good class to sit through and it can be pretty interesting with the guest speakers. Some assignments, one project, 15 hours of volunteer work, one paper, and one final. No midterm. Mendy is a super nice professor that is willing to work with you to help you out.

SUPER EASY! You have to go to class or you'll miss points, but she 2 offers extra credit things if you do miss class. All assignments are laid out day one so you can start them as soon as you want. Easy A class. Attendance is not necessarily mandatory, but there is a response at the end of every class. One project that is easy, one final that is super easy at the end, and and 15 hours of community service. It really isn't hard to complete the CS and you can donate money too. Really interesting class and the guest speakers are amazing.

U have to go to class because you turn in an inclass assignment everytime. Some classes were really interesting and some classes were super boring. Lots of easy assignments due like every other week. The final took me 15 minutes to complete. I recommend doing Easter Seals 4 your volunteer requirements. I liked this class and it was easyl.

I agree with the other comments posted here.this class is fairly easy and ton of great info regarding people with disabilities there are many presenters that share their stories of survival that can change your outlook on life.something that I took from this class is that we humans are known as TAB= Temporarily Able Bodies make the MOST OF IT!

This class is full of speakers the whole semester along with small responses after class to check for attendance and full of volunteer work 15hours or buy your hours along with continual fund raisers. One project easy to do and mostly busy work attend class do assignments and easy A.

Easy class. There are 7 assignments throughout the semester but they are not hard. Every class is a different speaker and their stories are actually interesting. You have 15 hours of community service you have to do but its easy to fill. She lets you buy hours literally. Take this class if your looking for something easy!!!

Mendy is sweet, intelligent, funny and encourages you to step outside your comfort zone. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!

I learned so much about special ed programs and the referral process through this class! It will be an invaluable resource going into the future. Mendy used many different instructional methods, and they really helped to solidify info. 4 written assignments, 2 group projects, 3 quizzes, and 1 exam (based mostly off PP lectures). I got 100%.

If you need a very easy class with one incredible professor, take this one. Not only that but from a human perspective you will take away a lot from the class. Class attendance is required to receive participation points. 5 easy assignments and 1 very easy final. Highly recommend this professor and this class, you won't be sorry. Extremely easy A!!

GS 420 is the best class offered at State. Professor McClure provides information that will change your perspective about disability in society. Guest speakers provided interesting and touching stories about their personal experience with disabilities. Audience is mandatory. Assignments are easy. Before you graduate from State, take this class!

GREAT GREAT CLASS

If there's on class that you will remember 20 years after you graduate, its this one. If you aren't sure what this class is about, its pretty much a class that teaches you how to react with people that have all sorts of disabilities and how to act in certain situations. Something everyone can use. Do not hesitate on taking this class.

Work wise, there are 5 assignments which are all very valuable and easy to do. And 15 hours of community service required. Sounds like a lot but it really isn't and she presents you with all sorts of great ways to fulfill those hours. 1 final, very doable. You take away so much from each assignment that they don't even feel like assignments. Easy A

If you need an exploration course, highly recommend this class you learn A LOT and scored 95% on it!

Life changing class. Each class has a guest speaker. Lets you out about 30 mins early. You write a response such as "what did you like best from the presentation" for each class. I think we had 2 projects and the final was online-if you pay attention in class you do not need to study. Oh and she doesn't even make you buy a textbook.

Well respected Professor, well organize, long lectures, amazing speaker presentors that gives insight about disability and rules. Provides extra credit opportinity, use of blackboard, dont need a book but do be present all the time cause participation points do count towards your grade. Send an email she will answer promptly.

Yes it is an easy A but the content learned goes far beyond that to put life into a whole new perspective. Written responses as attendance. Lectures can seem long tbh but most of the time are eye-opening and filled with passion. Really opens your eyes more to the real world and to respect as well as be more comfortable with persons with disabilities. Amazing class! Amazing Professor! Class is pure guest speakers and you just have to write a tiny summary after each. You only have like 6 assignments which are usually small writing assignments. McClure is dedicated to promoting disability awareness. I think everyone should take her class if they have the opportunity. She allows people with disabilities to advocate for themselves so that students are allowed to get experiences directly from the source. She is a fair grader and sincerely wants her students to learn.

I was very glad I took this class. There are guest lecturers every week and it truly opened my eyes. It helps break the stigma of people with disabilities. You will hear lots of inspirational stories. There are a few easy assignments and you have to volunteer, but it's definitely an easy A. Every student should have to take this class!

She is one of the best teachers. She wants to inform and make everyone aware of the topic taught in her class. However, mindy is retiring and beware of this course with the new teachers taking over. i would predict the two teachers taking over might make this course have more work and more difficult. enjoy retirement mindy!!

AMAZING!!! Best professor I have ever had at SDSU. This class is amazing as it teaches you about the disability experience. I highly recommend this class! There are presenters that come in each class and you have a response at the end of class. There is one volunteer experience but easy to do. Great class and highly reckoned seriously, the best
