Very clear during lectures, and doesn't mind slowing down a little or repeating something if you miss it. Tests are difficult if you don't pay attention to lecture. If you take good notes and listen to what she's saying you will do well in her class. Her review sheets are very detailed, and very helpful! I would definatly recommend her!

She is very good at her job but gives students lots of assignment. Be prepared to write your essay twice. I would not recommend her if you are not very fluent in English language. She loves research and takes the discussion forum seriously. If you miss the deadline to submit an assignment she would give you a 0 no matter your excuses.

She is direct of what she wants. The first day of class she was a bit intimidating but after that everything was fine. Her lectures are helpful, only sometimes there was not enough time to discuss everything. The books that were chosen were great and the class made me feel at home and ready to learn. I took composition I online and she was really helpful! Very clear and to the point, and if you try you will pass! Her assignments really help you grow as a writer! If you take her class online, just be prepared to write, A LOT!! But it really does prepare you for all the writing you're gonna have to do in college!

The class was a blast. There can be, at times, a lot of work- quizzes, tests, a paper and a project due around the same time. But these were all interesting and creative assignments and though not all of them were on time, she worked closely with me, as with anyone else. She gives really fun lectures and prizes and encourages class discussion.

I took Dr. Mejia's English Comp class the previous semester and it really stretched my abilities. Mexican American Literature went above and beyond that. I think most of us did not know what we were capable of. We were engaged, we argued, we had fun. Actual fun. We left with twice as many books as we came in with. It wasn't just another class.

Took this class online for ENGL1301 and I passed with an A!. I really liked her teaching methods and she provided very interesting readings( not many btw) . Just do the work ahead of time and you'll be fine. You have 4 major essays to complete but its really simple. Just do the work and turn it in on time and you will pass. Great Professor.

There was a lot of reading, but the text was amazing. The lectures grabbed my attention and opened my mind to different perspectives. Professor Mejia not only involves herself in her extensive knowledge of Mexican American culture and Chicano/a studies, but invites you to do the same through the readings assigned.

This class requires a lot of reading, and even when you do not understand what you have read she break it down so simply that you cannot help but learn. I really like this professor, but again be prepared to read, read, read.

Prof. Mejia is one of the best professor for Humanities course. She does assign reading homework but it is pretty easy. The exams are super easy if you thoroughly read the assigned essays. Apart from that she will always willing to help and understand her students need. If you work for an A, you will get an A on her course.

Dr. Mejia is a very clear professor . Her class is very straight forward as long as you read the books that she assigns you to read and show up to class and you should be okay. Her class isn't easy but if you get the work done it's a reachable A. She gives a few quizzes and reading "summaries" as well as a group presentation and 2 tests .

I loved Dr. Mejia's Humanities class. I took it during the summer and got an A. She is a great lecturer with interesting topics. Get the books and read them, do the assignments, and you'll do well. We did a fun project at the end of the semester. A tiny bit of group work involved. Would take her again.

Get side track easily-- I hate ENGL but managed to get an A - lots of writing (4 papers plus extra credit and group project. no test or finals.. just reading and writing - she gives really god feedback on your writings as well.

Please purchase and read the required material because all tests and quizzes come straight from them! Quizzes are timed under 10 min, so you need to know your information.

Took her for English Composition 1 online. The instructions and rules were very clear. When applying all the instructions to the assignments and essays (3 in total), an A is pretty much guaranteed.

She has a way of detangling the confusing parts of the literature assigned, particularly, in a very humorous fashion. The topics in the course are both central to Mexican-Americans as well as relateable to any race or ethnicity.

Shes is a good teacher, the key to pass her class is to do the readings assigned. If you dont have time make sure you at least look at sparknotes for a summary of the book or essay. I was taking this class on Friday so we had a quiz(simple one) every Friday. The midterm is probably the toughest part of the course but again if you do the readings

Dr.M is a great teacher! Shes super sweet and very understanding. Their are readings and their is usually about a week for assignment to be due. Theirs usually a test every Monday based on our readings and are 7 questions max but are super easy. Their is one group project and a creative portfolio which was fun to make. Take her youll love her!

There is a quiz due before the start of most classes but are extremely easy if you (at the very least) watch a crash course on the reading. Extra credit is given more often than expected. She creates an uplifting environment in her lectures. Doctor Mejia is one of the most understanding, kind hearted and most appealing to the youth.

Learned about Mexican American history, art, and literature. She uses videos and readings and some recorded power point lectures. I feel much prouder about my heritage and my experiences after this course. Quizzes are easy. Other assignments are a little time consuming but not too much. Loved that you could do your own creative responses.

She was so understanding of my speech issues. Her feedback made me feel validated as a student and encouraged me to keep going. Her class is super stressful because of the work, but it was an easy A. The final was simple too. All quizzes are open book and she gives 3 or 4 extra credit opportunities. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE

She seems to be caring about the subject. I would say she has not been teaching long or at least not this class. A good combination of reading, videos and podcast. DO NOT wait the last hour to do your assignments. The questions are # as 3 but nope, they are questions in questions. The work is easy, time consuming. The quizzes are timed. Stressful!

The entire class had many opportunities to interact with each other and it was honestly a good time. The readings are easy but plentiful. This class is easy if you just follow the instructions which go week by week. There is some reading, lectures and notetaking but it is not overwhelming, and is just enough to make you feel accomplished and like youre actually learning. The professor is very responsive and just ask for honesty, not ChatGPT lol.
