Very tricky. Rigid on positions. Difficult to work with.
If you want to succeed in nursing, take Ms. Miller's class. She is a wonderful instructor.

I WOULDN'T take her if you don't have to. Her test weren't on what she gave you in lecture. She told us it would get easier and it didn't. There was only 1 A in the whole class. Most of the class either dropped or failed. I studied and worked hard in this class and came out with a C. For your sake, please don't take her.
This course was hard, it covered a lot of material. That was told to us in the beginning of the course as a 2nd semester biology course. I did have to work hard, but Ms. Miller is a great instructor. The tests were challenging, but on the material if you paid attention in class and lab.
Definitely the instructor to take for A&P.
Great instructor!! Definitely the one to take!
Ms. Miller is a great instructor. I wish she would have taught me lecture as well as lab.
Ms. Miller has high expectations for her students, but she is very helpful. You must do your lab work, prepare for class and lab, and complete all assignments to have success in the class.
Ms. Miller is very smart and she knows what she teachers. She is very helpful, however, you have to do your work. It is very important to study EVERYTHING and be extremely detailed in lab reports. Hard class, but you learn alot.
Ms. Miller is an excellent lab instructor and a wonderful instructor overall. You must be responsible for your work, but she is excellent at explaining biological concepts and is extremely helpful is you ask her.
The best lab instructor on campus. If you want to learn the material, take Ms. Miller. She has high expectations and doesn't take excuses for not doing the work, but you will be thankful in the end. She is always helpful, if you come prepared and still have questions.
She grades pretty hard but you actually learn in her class.
You must come to class prepared and do your worK. You can't just sit in lab. When you get through this class you will realize that Ms Miller has really helped your future courses.
I had Ms Miller for both A&P I and II. The classes are meant to be rigorous, but if your are a prepared student, you will do well. There are high expectations in the course. The tests do cover what is presented online, so the student who said they aren't, should look back at all the material given out in the course. I am prepare for nursing.
I did well in all 3 of her biology and A&P courses.
If you apply yourself and put in the work, you will do well! You cannot just sit through the labs texting and expect to succeed. I will say that she lectures for a very long time in lab, in a 2 hour time period expect her to talk for about 1:45 of that and leave you 15 minutes to actually perform the experiment. However, it is doable.
Expect to sit in lab for an hour and 45 minutes of her lecturing then have 15 minutes to work on the lab. She definitely knows what she's talking about, but not the friendliest when asking for help.
The only reason a 2 was given for the easiness of this class is that this class was not designed to be easy, and easiness is a dumb statistic to rate a professor by. Mrs. Miller is a great and helpful teacher who gives clear and precise instructions on what is expected in her classroom. She takes the time to help all students who put in the effort.
Worst professor I ever had!! I will never ever recommend anyone to take her class. Not helpful at all!
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Biology was awful with her. Trust me!!!
OK, so I took Mrs. Miller for Biology I Lab. She loves to talk and leave you with a very short time to do your lab. BUT, she gives you a lot of good info and it will be on her practicals. She is very knowledgeable and she is approachable so if you have questions go ask her. I am taking her for A&P so she is a great teacher just loves to talk.
I took her online anatomy I class. It was not an easy class, but it is not supposed to be. Ms. Miller was very helpful and patient as I was new to the online class environment. She was a great instructor. I also had her for BIO lab face to face, and I felt prepared for the A&P content thanks to her lab class. You can't say that for others.
Great instructor! You must be willing to work hard, but Ms. Miller is a wonderful instructor who will help you succeed.
Talks the entire class. You have about 20 minutes to do a 2 hours lab.
You must be prepared for lab and get your work completed. You must pay attention and complete your lab reports, pre- and post lab work on Canvas in order to succeed. I would take this instructor again, and plan on taking her A&P courses as well.
Ms. Miller was a great bio lab professor. She does over explain everything. She talks for 90% of the lab time and gives you very little time to complete the lab. She also gives a decent amount of work to keep you busy every week.
Great lab instructor. You will need to do your work, but it is a great class to prepare you for your future biology or A&P courses.
By far the worst professor I have ever had at any college in any class that I have taken. Not helpful or easy to contact. Takes 3+ weeks to grade assignments. gives no feedback. leaves you completely unprepared. The tests and exams she gives don't correlate with any of the material from her notes.
I took Ms. Miller for A&P II. The class was difficult, but it was A&P II. She responded immediately to all of my questions, set up Zoom meetings when I didnt understand topics. The class notes were set up in Canvas and the course material easy to find. Her directions were always clear and easy to understand.
Took for Biology I. Great lab professor. I am taking her for A&P in the fall.
Professor Miller is very tough professor and gives a lot of homework. She takes two to three weeks to grade assignments and is very rude when you ask her for help. She also takes forever to respond to messages. I would definitely not recommend taking Human A& P online with her.
A&P was a tough class. I dont regret taking it, even though I originally did not want to do an online course. Ms. Miller was extremely helpful and available during the class and did Zoom sessions when I asked if I was confused. I am taking her for A&P II because her course is easy to follow and clearly set up for lecture and labs.
Great instructor!
Not well organized.
Ms. Miller helped me in this course each week. She set up weekly WebEx meetings with me to go through material and labs each week when I asked. You have to do the work and put time in on a weekly basis, and not wait until Sunday night to complete work, but did help me each week.
Take her class over the face to face classes. You will need to work, but an useful and good class.
Shes rude and unhelpful. Way to many test and lots of proctored.
Instructor Worked to help me succeed in a difficult class. Will be taking her next class.
Professor Miller never really helped me learn anything. Half the time she never responded to me. There was never a specific thing for me to study for the tests. That is why I did so bad in her class. I personally have always had either A's or B's but I struggled to even maintain a C. She honestly really did not help me.
Online class for the summer is BRUTAL. There were tons of assignments each week that really dont help your GPA at all. One week I had at least 8 or 9 things to turn in just for her. + quizzes and mastering assignments. If it wasnt for the extra credit assignments I dont think I wouldve made it. Im normally an A & B honor roll student!
I would not suggest her for anybody, horrible!
This is by far the worse instructor I have ever had. It takes 3+ weeks for assignments to be graded. Her exams dont follow along with the vague information she tells you to study. Over half of the work that she has you do dont even correlate with her exams. Doesnt respond back immediately if at all. Most students withdrew before midterms.
A&P II is not an easy class. I did have to put in time and effort. I did what Ms. Miller suggested to study for tests. Her test do come from notes so the Students who say they cant find what to study, are not following the module. I met her about every 2 weeks via WebEx for test review which was helpful.
Do your work during the week and dont try to rush through everything the day everything is due and read her powerpoints and watch the videos. I have an A in this online class doing these things. Do Your Work Throughout the Week.
Hard class, but follow the checklist each Week and watch her videos to Prepare for quizzes and tests. It is Helpful to know to take written notes before this Class starts.
Many opportunities to do well in the class if you pay attention to the course material, but it is a hard class.
Will be taking her next class.
Good to take for majors Biology.
This is the hardest class I've ever taken in my life. Quizzes and tests do not correlate with notes or what is discussed in class at all. I recently had a quiz that asked what the longest phase in the cell cycle was. Her notes said interphase. Interphase wasn't an answer. Asked her later and it was prophase. Didn't explain
Do your work, follow the modules and study guides. Trsts come from the notes in the module
She helped me out greatly in lab and writing correct lab reports each week.
Would take again.
I know Im prepared for my next majors course. Some people dont like the fact they have to actually work in this course, but it is a major biology course.
I enjoyed my time in lab, you do have to work hard, but it is a majors course. I know Im probably prepared for micro and anatomy.
Will take again. If you go back and review your test, youll find all of the test questions come directly from the lecture notes in the module if youve been paying attention. Someone posted about a Cell cycle question, The actual question was about my mitosis so prophase was the correct answer. You might want to fix that.
Her class was fine, but you definitely have to pay attention to the lectures because shell mention tiny details that are on the tests. For the study guides on the tests, hardly anything on the study guides will actually be on there. Its not even all that useful. Also, she doesnt let us see what we miss on quizzes we take.
Will take her next class. She provided feedback and reviewed with me the entire semester.
Great lab experience and instructor for lecture and lab.
Glad I took her for A&P II.
The best lab instructor, will take again for A&P!!!
Very organized and helpful class
Ms. Miller was so helpful for A&P l lecture face to face class. I was in her office weekly getting her help with the course material this semester. I am signing up for the summer class, so I can take her face to face A&P II class. Highly recommend.
I took the Intro to Forensics as an elective. It was a lot of work outside of class since it was an one day a week hybrid class, but I learned so many forensic skills. I enjoyed the hands on evidence portion the most: fingerprinting, hair and fiber identification, blood typing, blood spatter, and forensic DNA.
Great online instructor, but you have to put in the time and effort.
Great class. Ms. Miller had great videos for her tough parts of the course. She met with me weekly online to help me with labs and dissections individually as well as lecture work each week.
She was difficult
Melinda Miller was unrelenting in her assignments and outdated instructional guide. I am a straight a student. And while I was in her classes, I thought I was learning things, and then the midterm would come around, and I would know absolutely nothing on the test. Genuinely, I don't think she cares if students pass or fail.
The worst biology instructor I've ever had. She manages to make every lecture feel like it takes years to end; constantly goes on tangents about whatever comes to mind. She takes many weeks to finally get feedback for each assignment. Beware of the McGraw Hill assignments that take 4+ hours to complete.
I am a college graduate, and took this course as a returning student. I was prepared for college level courses. Be prepared to have hundreds of pages of notes, to teach yourself, countless assignments, time limits of less than 20-30 seconds a question on quizzes. I would suggest if this is your only option for course, to go to a different school.
DO NOT TAKE. Literally everyone I know, including myself cannot pass this lady's class. Most people drop the first week. She is also not willing to help if you ask.
I retook this course with another instructor and earned an A+. Her teaching skills, understanding, and willingness to help are horrible.
DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE WITH MILLER ! I'm an a\b student and ended with an F trust me save your gpa and just save your self the stress!
Awesome instructor, who went out of her way to help me succeed and get an A in the course!
I took this A&P II lecture/lab class as a 4 week summer class. It was a lot of work in a short amount of time, but Ms. Miller was awesome and spent many hours after class with those of us who needed extra time with lecture and lab content. You can do it, you just need to ask if you need extra help.
I took both A&P I and II over the summer in the 4 week classes all summer. Ms. Miller was great!
Great online class that teaches the content while also having the lab as hands-on labs. That was the best. Some of the other A&P online classes don't have hands on labs, and that was a disappointment in the other class I was in.
The classes are spent more on getting sidetracked than the actual material. Her work isn't difficult, but you must mostly cover the material yourself. There's not a bunch covered in lectures, but somehow, they stretch the entire class. She's nice and provides drop grades, but she also tends to be loud. I would recommend sitting in the back.
Very caring and knowledgeable instructor. I will be taking her Forensics class also.
Great instructor. I was so happy with the course and all of the hands on labs her class has as an online class.
Miss Miller is a wonderful lab instructor. She was easily acceptable out of lab and help me with my lab work throughout the semester along with lecture content. you will have to do the lab work though and complete formal lab reports.
You have three test including the final, so you only have 3 grade that can really help/harm your grade. On the second test half is open ended. SHE WILL TALK YOUR EARS OFF, SHE WILL NOT STAY ON ONE TOPIC IF SHE DO ITS NOT SOMETHING IMPORTANT. One time she spent 30 minutes talking about the recall on carrots. She will assign work and not grade it.
Great instructor for General Biology especially if you are needing it to take A&P, pre-med or pre-pharm.
You only take 3 tests over the course of the whole semester. Your final is one of those tests. You will have assignments you don't even know about in mastering. We were VERY behind all semester. I had lab and had no background knowledge of the subject since we were being. Takes a while to grade tests. Will talk you head off and be 15 mins late.
Great instructor for General Biology and lab especially if you are needing it to take A&P, pre-med or pre-pharm.
She wasn't a terrible teacher, but in my 2 hour long lab, we only spent 30 minutes doing the lab because she spent the rest talking. Some of it was relevant but a lot of it wasn't. She also only started grading lab reports about a month before the semester was over. She was always willing to help, though, and I appreciated that
