Dr. Shoemaker is the best Psychology Professor at the North Campus. She is a phenomenal lecturer and breaks everything down to little pieces in order to ensure that everyone understands. Gives you outlines to follow along, and her tests cover exactly what she teaches, no more. Highly recommended.

i had her once a week (every Monday), you have four graded assignment but she only count three, One paper & three test, all is to do at Home (sweet). didn't need no book, she used powerpoint, and she's not boring. my lowest grade of the four was 96/100. highly recommended.... you will not regret it.... oh huh, she's funny and super coooolllll..

Never a dull moment. She puts her students first. She's a live, humorous person with a passion about her work. It was a joy having her. She does assign tests and papers but out of four assignments, the lowest grade is dropped and then the three are averaged to your final grade. She covers the material constantly and gives you notes.

Professor Shoemaker is the best professor I've had. I had her 8am class. Even though 8am is early, I was always looked forward to going to her class. She's funny, and her teaching skills are CLEAR. If you listen you WILL learn. She teaches only relevant material that students NEED! I was blessed to have her as a professor. I LEARNED A LOT!!!!

I looked forward to every 8 a.m. class. She makes the lessons easier to understand with attention grabbing stories. All the quizzes were based off of lectures and packets she gives.

Saw many reviews on here. Glad I did, she was an amazing teacher. Taught you in many different ways and made sure she explained it well (went as far as acting it out). I would definitely take her again for any other subject i need that she teaches. Took her at 8am but she kept the class alive and well.

Dr. Shoemaker is pleasant. She gives opportunities to up your grade with extra credit questions. She also gives study worksheets packets, so, if you are low on cash you can pass without the book. She does a review at the start of every class, if you missed a class you should be fine. Lastly, she lets you know exactly what is on your quiz/final.

This is my second time having Dr. Shoemaker and she is still an amazing professor! She makes the class easy to learn and understand plus makes it fun! I just had her for the "Sex in the Summer" class; sex can be an uncomfortable topic at times for some people, but she makes it super comfortable for everyone! I wish I could take her again!

Her lectures are fun and engaging. Key word: lecture. If you don't attend where she literally hands you the notes, you will have a very hard time passing. But her lectures are what separates her from the rest. They're more like discussions and you almost forget you're at school.

I don't usually take teacher back to back like I did with her 9:30 abnormal psych and here 11AM advanced psych. At first, I was worried about having two advanced psych courses in one sitting but she eased all of my fears once I went through a week or two or her lectures. THERE NOT EVEN LECTURES! Well worth taking. Don't need book. Just show up fool

Shes literally the best teacher Ive learned so much from her. Theres 4 exams 2 take home and 2 in class. If you pass all 3 you dont have to take the 4th one which is the final and extra credit, she really care about everyone and interact with everyone. Dr Shoemaker is a very caring and funny teacher. She is a psychologist, so she is an expert in communicating with you. There are only a few tests. The assignment can be done at home. There are extra credit assignments too. I finished the class with a 100% A+. As long as you do what your suppose to do it is easy.

SHES AMAZING! I took her for sociology (SYG2340) now advanced psychology & shes far most one of my favorite professors. Im not sure of my grade now but Im sure Its an A or B. Professor Shoemaker is really sweet! Her psychology lectures are entertaining and she tells you EXACTLY what you need to know (and provides you with notes to follow) for the very few quizzes required for the duration of this class. That's it!

One of the best professors at BC in the Behavioral Sciences department, hands down!! I can't wait to take Human Sexuality with her in the next few weeks. You just have to do 3 exams, but the 4th (final) exam is optional and you can use her notes. She also offers extra credit. Her lectures are EXTREMELY interesting. I repeat them all the time lol!

If you have the ability to take her then do so. She is such a great prof, you will get an A if you listen while she is teaching. She is specific about what she likes and wants from you. Since she is an actual psychiatrist she brings her knowledge of her cases into it and that helps with understanding the work much more.

Definitely one of the best professors I have had! She makes the lectures super entertaining and enjoyable. The classes do consist of a handful of notes, but it's nothing to back out on.

Easiest class of all time and super kind professor! The only assignments were a midterm and final which were both take home. Attendance is not mandatory, but her teaching feels more like conversations than lectures which made me want to go to class! She even prints out the lecture notes for the whole class
