i had her for Human Sexuality online. She was the greatest, she is very helpful and very understanding and easy to deal with! Requires a fair amount of work weekly, however, its nothing that you cant handle. I highly recommend her, I took one class with her and about to start my second! Take my word for it, she is GREAT!

i took online human sexuality.. and she is a good teacher. She actaully has a heart and understanding.once i missed a homework and she let me make it up.Shes also a workaholic. She teaches like 8 classes between online and in school and is still organize and she has a cute little girl. She does give homework but its a good amount.

I loved this course and the professor. She was extremely helpful and made the class fun. She always provided feedback and answered any questions that you may have. It is a lot of work, so be sure to keep up.

This is the second time I am taking her and the course is in the exact same format. I am taking her online and it is a lot of work. If you fall behind, it is hard to catch up. However, the work is not hard at all - basically just reading and your opinion.

extremely helpful and clear...Easy A, if u fail this class then you should just withdraw from school...online quizzes and critical thinking boost your grade even if you do bad on the test and finals.

amazingly easy professor...easy grader, lots of exttra cerdit and 2 chances on the qizzes. its impossible to fail. do the hw and quizzes and youll get an A.

She is the best psyc professor, very sweet i had her class early in the morning, and it was my favorite class. She gives enough work that is very simple to do and lots of extra credit. I got an A, you cannot fail her class!! Attendance is important! Online quizzes and critical thinking questions.

Not a bad teacher but most of the stuff is online. She gives you two chances to take each quiz and they are all online and after you take it the first time you get to see the answers you got wrong so the second time you always get 100 and the higher grade counts so basically, easy A

Relatively easy online course. Quizzes/exams are straight out of the text, not very challenging. Discussion topics are thought provoking, & supplemental reading's informative. Professor was defensive whenever I asked a question, regardless of what I was asking; that would be my only complaint. I would recommend for anyone who has to take online.

One of the BEST professors at WCC. Her class is so easy -- this is not because she is carefree, or does not give any work, but it is so easy because how good of a teacher she is. She goes over everything in such detail that it is completely understandable...PS she gives about 25 extra credits that take about 5 minutes long.

I guess she's mostly an online teacher so her lessons and work are all on blackboard. I didn't learn as much as I hoped, but the class talked a lot and she didn't control it to well. She's super nice though and everything is straight from the slides. Put in the time and you'll get an A. She super accommodating too.

Melissa is a good professor, her exams are on line and you have to do a discussion board for every chapter in the text book that's covered in class. She is very fair and offers extra credit on projects. I highly recommend her.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! This is actually my second time taking this course, and the first time actually learning since McGraw didn't teach at all... Acevedo knows her stuff and has everything on BB for you to access whenever. Her blue books are the best and Response card questions keep her aware of what the class hasn't learned before giving tests

Not sure how I feel about the class. U'll get an A if you put in work and I did learn. Her power points are great. I guess a class room isn't needed. She never makes eye contact, just looks at ceiling. Clearly knows her stuff, but I feel almost talked down to when I ask questions. Seems like her way or the highway. Do work and u will get an A.

I took her for my Online Human Sexuality class. I thought the class was so good and I learned a lot. It is online so have a calendar ready. No make ups for any of the homework, quizzes, and tests and she does not accept late work. When I had any questions I emailed her and she got back to me immediately. Great professor and loved the class.

Not a very great professor if you actually want to learn. However, if you want an easy A, take Acevedo. All her tests are online and she gives a TON of extra credit. If you go to class and hand in your assignments, theres literally no way that you can fail her class. EASY EASY EASY A!!!

She is an amazing teacher. At first I was scared taking PSYCH 101 thinking it was going to be hard to understand but with Dr. Acevado she made it so easy. This professor is a good teacher she give time to send your work through black board. It is easy going class to be and also gives extra credit packet to complete in the end of semester, but her exams, quiz, critical thinking, and the final be through black board. Just had her over the Summer for a 3 week course. I highly recommend her for a professor. Although it was online, she made everything clear and gave back good feedback. I enjoyed taking this course. She was very thorough on her expectations. I enjoyed the group activities and she was very encouraging when it came to making sure to ask questions if there was something we did not understand. Her critical thinking assignments are a bit lengthy but other than that her exams and quizzes were pretty decent.

Very very hard grader. At least she gives a lot of extra credit activities that can help you on the exams. the material was too much and I personally don't like the way she explains things so I had to work really hard to get that A (which was a miracle since she grade all my critical thinking's from 60-80). But overall, she's a good teacher.

She's really prepared when it comes to teaching. She does give out a lot of extra credit so you have many chances to improve your grade. You do have a lot of quizzes so be prepared for that. She does respond to emails after school if needed. There will be group activates in which it will help with exam so do them for your grade to increase.

Professor Acevedo is very smart, amazing, will offer help if needed. Rough grader but it's worth it. She offers lots of extra credit and is very passionate about her class. Strict yes, but is also understanding. You get what you give in this class. Her work is tough and work load is a lot. Would recommend.

Prof. Acevedo was a great professor. The only reason why I didn't rate her a 5/5 was because of how bland her lectures were. You honestly don't really need to sit there and listen as long as you read the textbook before taking quizzes (which are almost every week.) Other than that, Dr. Acevedo is very friendly and wants to see her students thrive.

"You get what you give" is an accurate description for her course. Her lectures are not super interesting but the assignments, quizzes, & exams are fair if you take advantage of the resources given (review PPTs & textbook). All chapter assignments due the same day so don't wait until last minute. Many extra credit opportunities so take advantage!!

I had Professor Acevedo for psych 107 (social psychology) asynchronous. She gives helpful and detailed feedback on assignments and is easily reachable. I would highly recommend this course.
