good professor!! she is very clear in the material....and she doesn't confuse you at all...and she goes at a nice, steady pace!! take her..its hard to find a good math teacher now-a-days!
Class was boring and she gave too many quizes in a day... we have 12 once.
she is the worst math teacher, she made us write 4 papers about what we learned in class, gave us a quiz each week, too much book hw, and a packet of problems to do as well.not clear in her teaching, she just does it and youre supposed to copy it
good teacher, she was pretty clear and helpful. I got an A, and she called my house to say I didn't have to take the final exam!
i thought she was anexcellent teacher. her packets were not hard and she was slow enough for slower learners, yet kept a good pace for the poeple who were taking her class as an easy math credit. i loved my a at the end of the semester!
very nice and helpful plus she wants you to pass and will do anything so you will pass.
she is really helpfull and does anything to help you pass the class. stay until the end of an exam period, she usually helps you and sometimes she gives you the answer. great teacher. when she tell you you dont have to come to class DO it TRUST ME.
Very hard to follow. Some of her teaching methods are somewhat childish. Needs to work on grammer skills. Too many quizes that counted for alot of points, which many students failed due to poor teaching skills.
great! I will take a class with her again! she's very helpful!
I thought she was an outstanding teacher. She wrote notes on the board that were easily understood and that I could look back on when I was doing the work outside of class and really understand what I was doing. You can tell that she really loves teaching the subject. I definately recommend her.
WONDERFUL TEACHER!!!! I think that anyone who is signing up to take a math should def. take her. Made the class very interesting. I wasnt bored at all in her class. Helps you out as much as possible. Doesnt mind explaining herself more than once. Tells you exactly whats going to be on the test.
Ok Professor but she plays favorites way to much.People in the class that had her before would do the HW together after she said not to copy each other but she still accepted it even though she knew they where working together.Doesnt seem right that I got a lower grade then the cheaters...
she's ok... not like mean or really a BAD teacher. But alot of stupid annoying big assignments. I hate math to begin with so maybe i'm biased... but if you're like me and you hate math i wouldn't take her
She is really clear about her teachings and her tests are exactly like the reviews she hands out. Her tests are easy and all her assignments are too

i used to HATE math and was so anxious about taking another math class, however, after taking this intro course, concepts i could never grasp in high school became soo much clearer, she really was one of the best, kindest, clearest teachers i had all semester, i always recommend her
I love her she is the best math teacher I have ever had! She does give alot of homework and stuff, but it's all easy and helps your grades. The only thing I hated was (and she does it alot) when you get to class and she ends it after only 15 minutes....I LIVE 45min. AWAY! That drove me nuts. But I highly recommend her. P.S. If she says u dont have
She is very helpful. It was very easy to follow the material. She would & does show the class the easiest way to do a problem & trys not to make the problem more difficult than it already is. She is very clear on what she expects from the class.
great teacher!
She is a very wonderful teacher. I had her for MAT 012 for the Summer Bridge Program and I hate math but she made me love it. She cares about her students and is very helpful.
She is an excellent teacher. If anyone is bad at math, take her class. She explains step by step on how to do problems. She will not move on until everybody understands a topic. She gives a lot of homework, but thats good in that it helps raise your grade if you do bad on tests. She tries to act like a mean teacher for humorous reasons. Take her!
Take this class. Spurlock clearly cares about you and how well you do because she provides many opportunities to succeed. Her tests are moderate but if you go to class and pay attention everything connects and makes sense. Pay attention to types of problems that are lenghty and you only have done one example, they will more likely be on the test
Is an ok professor, she sometimes is confusing and doesn't explain herself very well. However her goal is for every student to pass so her assignments and tests are not hard at all, you just have attend class.
Really good teacher
SHE IS A WONDERFUL TEACHER. SHE GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND TO HELP YOU . SHE WILL EVEN HELP YOU ATER CLASS. SHE GIVES WIERD HOMEWORK BUT IT HELPS YOUR GRADE AT THE END. TAKE HER. WONDERFUL TEACHER TAKING FOR MAT 131 IN SPRING.
Wonderful teacher! I highly recommend. Writes very clear step-by-step directions on the board. Tests were a little tricky. She also requires a couple of written assignments. I strive for A's-challenging but not impossible. Will help you after class if she can. One sheet of paper with notes (both sides) for final.
a great teacher. would take again
she is an excellent teacher!
Womderful and helpful teacher
WONDERFUL TEACHER, WRITES STEP BY STEP DIRECTIONS, LETS YOU REDO THE TEST WITH THE CORRECT ANSWERS FOR EXTRA CREDIT, HELPS YOU ALOT, I USUALLY GET D'S IN MATH, TOOK MS SPRULOCK AND I GOT A B IN HER CLASS, NOW WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU?
She is very helpful and very nice! Many extra credit opportunities and many easy ways to get a good grade! I recommend her highly!
Excellent opportunities for extra credit. Gives homework, expects on due date. Flexible instructor. I would recommend professor.
She makes it easy to get an A/B but if you really want to learn the material this is not the right teacher. She moves fast & doesn't really review. She'll ask if anyone has questions but as the class is trying to work on a problem to see if we have any questions she solves it first & says see? So you just copy it and realize on the test you have no
She is such a great techer! I have withdrew out of this class for about 4 or 5 now. With Spurlock I finally passed the class with an A.I test really bad but she gives you a review sheet with poblems that are identical 2 test,so there are no suprises, the only thing she changes are the numbers. also give take home test and she grades homework.
Wonderful teacher, very nice and helpful
Excellent teacher! I did not like math before taking her class. She is very encouraging and gives many opportunities to learn and get a good grade. Best Math teacher I've ever had! Wish she taught Chemistry also.
She is a great teacheer, very clear and very helpful if you ask questions. Couldn't as for a better teacher, but remember don't mess with her, because it will backfire...BAD.
She is great. It took me a little while to get used to her teaching, but she is extremely helpful and very funny. Not an easy class, but she will certainly do what she can to help you.
Best Math teacher i have ever had by far. Gives tons of examples, random group work during class, easy tests if you study and pay attention during class, online homework that she gives u a week to complete and you can ask questions about it before it due. Would love to have her again.
Lets just say when i took college algebra with a different teacher, i failed. When i took her, i passed with an A. She is an excellent teacher, she teaches you exactly whats on the test, and even gives you what you need to know. LOVE HER, if you suck at math...you will pass as long as you go!! whoo hooo for mrs spurlock!!
Took stat w/ her. Most exams were open book and open note. Just go to class most of the time and should be able to get atleast a high B. Very clear and very helpful. Take her for any class.
I hated math and had no confidence in myself with math, but Mrs. Spurlock changed that. She comes off tough as first but if she see that you are actually trying, she tends to get a little more lieniant with you. Great teacher and will help you until you understand the lesson. Her problem questions are a little more tough then the ones in the book
she goes over the material and if you dont understand the problems she will take time out to help you and if you go home and try the problem she will give you extra credit.
great teacher-wanted you to get through the class(some profs don't care)-final was hard but she did everything to get you through it-my advice is to score higher test grades at the start of semester when material is easier and do all hmwk and ec-sounds obvious but you will need all those points to counter your final-great teacher though.
funny teacher, light-hearted n made class enjoyable. pretty clear in explaining, VERY helpful if you ask for it!!! very patient as well. tests were hard as hell-bombed the final thas what brought me down. study your @ss off n ATTEND EVERY CLASS n you'll do well.
you show up to class everyday you will pass and make sure you do good on test or you will struggle just study for all the test and you will do great
Okay.Dot listen to the other fools on here.Shes the best Math Teacher anyone could hope for.Shes here to see you pass and understand what you learned. If you have problems she wont haisate to help you.She LOVES numbers and you will to[Even if you hate Math Youll Grow to love it.]Very clear and dose a number of differnt methods to help students
Excellent teacher. Gives extra help when needed and stays after class. Very reasonable when it comes to understanding the problems
cool teacher. her teaching methods are a little different than your typical math teacher but overall nice lady and always there to help you.
This yeacher is amazing. She is helpful when you ask her. She uses many examples on each section. Having a calculator is good for her class. She gives many opportunity to bring up your grade if needed.Make sure to keep your cell phone on vibrate or there will be a pop quiz. If you are concern about taking math, relax with this prof.
she is an amazing teacher! loved her class. I would take another class with her in a heart beat. she offered help to students before class in case they needed it. she doesn't tolerate laziness though so pay attention during class.
Love her she is the best and always helpful. She care about you and wants you to succeed. So don't give up.
Professor Spurlock is one of those instructors who really cares about the success of her students. She is a sweet, genuine person who loves teaching math. She gives take-home assignments which are worth a lot of points, so make sure up keep up! Overall, just a fantastic professor.
Prof. Spurlock made math fun and if spend some effort it will be rewarded. She by far is one of the most enjoyable people to be around and she is a true asset to AACC. I would highly recommend taking math with her if you can. She will help you succeed.
I did not enjoy her at all. I could tell from the beginning that she was already picking favorites. Her teaching skills are one way or the highway. Way too fast paced. Just didn't learn a thing. Not worth the aggravation.
She is a very helpful teacher and i like her teaching style
the opposite of rain is NOT "NOT RAIN"
Thankfully her class is super simple because if she had to teach anything complicated we would all be completely lost. She NEVER fully explains anything. Her communication skills are horrible. On many occations she has been down right rude and unproffesional to our class.I wouldn't take her again because her class always puts me in a bad mood.
She's not a bad teacher. She does want everyone to succeed and tries to help everyone and makes sure everyone participates. She's really knowledgeable when it comes to algebra so use her expertise!
Best class ever.i hate math but she was so helpful and nice.she wants you to pass.makes math more understanding.best math teacher i have ever had anywhere! I would take her class again in a heart beat if i needed too. stay away from riordan and go to spurlock it will be worth your money and gpa.knows what shes talking about
The final was too easy, you learn so much in this class but the professor does a great job at teaching all the material. I enjoyed this class very much even though math is a tough subject.
She seems tough at first but she is really nice. Don't buy the textbook because we never opened it. Ask a lot of questions otherwise she will call on you. Never let your cellphone ring otherwise she will give you a pop quiz. Take all advantages of extra credit like the group work assignments. All quizzes are take home.
She was hard to understand. Moved to quickly & didnt seem to care if her students learned the material or not. She is the worst with contacting you back with e-mails. I would definitley not reccomend her.
She is the best! She was very nice and clear in the way she teaches. You don't need your textbook and all quizzes are take home which is nice. If you pay attention in class you should pass with flying colors. If I needed another math I would totally take her again!
Great professor. It's not an easy subject for some, but she makes it more interesting and less difficult. I would recommend this professor to anyone thinking about taking precalc.
I had her for calculus, and she wqs awful. She would just start writing stuff and not explain it. I took a calc class in HS, so I at least had some prior knowledge. She'd give you a 0 for the day if you didn't know the answer to a question. Hello you're the one teaching it! The fact that we don't know the answer reflects on her teaching, not you!
HORRIBLE TEACHER! Wouldn't recommend her to anyone! I wrote her an email on 3 different occasions and NEVER responded to any of them and when asked about it all she said was "oh I forgot" like really?! Should have listened to a friend of mine when she warned me. She's also HORRIBLE WITH GRADING PAPERS (some will have your overall grade and some the papers grade so it gets messed up) . A lot of quizzes. Not a good teacher unless your real good at math!!!!!
I had always thought I was bad at math but after this class I realized that I am actually pretty good at it. Her handouts are really helpful and to the point, no unnecessary information. I really enjoyed being in her classes.
Absolutely amazing professor. Had to take 2 remedial classes and college algebra. I had her for all three. Would definitely take her again for any math class. You will have to work for your grade, but the availability for help is there if you do not understand something thoroughly.
Fun to take class with and not a difficult A even though math isn't my strong suit. She gives example problems and then the tests are basically the same. She always hands out an exam review guide which tells you most of what's on the exam. She doesn't really use the textbook.
I didn't have professor spurlock in class but she was my tutor and she was amazing she saved my class! She is always willing to help and test you so you really understand the information
I did not like this professor much at all. She was very harsh with grading and gave a lot of quizzes especially if someone was caught with their phone out. I am someone who struggles with math so sometimes an extra explanation is necessary. She however, made me feel dumb. She does give reviews for tests , so that was helpful. Overall, poor.
Would not take this class unless you are good in Math. She chastises you if you do not do well. Quizzes every class. Does not use MyMathLab. No feedback on what you get wrong. its just wrong with an X. I struggle in Math and this was the worst class, had to drop. No encouragement.
Huge curve on the class. She doesn't actually teach concepts; instead, class time is spent going over problems without explanation. More of a memorization exercise than a learning experience. Tests are not realistic - questions are difficult and lengthy. She also laughs at students for giving wrong answers and covers only about 1/3 of the material.
Nice person, bad teacher. It was almost as if she knew the material so well that she couldn't convey how to do it. She lectures the whole class which is definitely not the way to learn math. I am usually very good at math but absolutely struggled with her teaching. Had extra tutoring and it still didn't help. Wish I had dropped the class.
She is a great straight forward professor. Her lectures follow along with the book so you can easily go back to see where she is working from.
Knows what shes doing, but she lectures the entire class, never reviews anything, if you get something wrong there is no explanation, moves very quickly, offers little/no extra credit. If you're pretty good at math, go for it, you CAN do well. But her teaching style may not click with everybody...
Feed back from homework, quizzes, and test were horrible. Would mark right or wrong and you wouldn't know what you did wrong or how you could fix it. Won't respond to emails. There's a lot of homework (which is expected) shouldn't be a shock. Don't expect any favors or help with a grade you did poorly on. Overall, doesn't care if you pass or fail.
Horrible. Will not work with you. Ignores you and looks at you like you are stupid if you don't understand. If she sees your phone she will take points off your grade
Um.. good luck. I'm horrible at Math and tried my hardest in this class. She knows the material but doesn't convey it very well. She expects you to remember everything from last class.. Textbook not required.
Professor Spurlock is one of the best math teachers i've ever had. she's a tough grader but makes every effort to get you to pass.
She summarizes each lesson and notes are easy to follow but you need to practice to actually be able to understand and prepare for tests.
Excellent professor, highly recommend
Not only does she give us several homeworks, a quiz review and quiz online for each chapter but also a paper packet that we must turn in each chapter. She grades these harshly based on correctness and is not willing to change the style or work at all even with complaints by many students.
Mostly online
To whom it may concern, I strongly suggest that you do not take her class. -she grades harshly based on correctness -knows the material but can not explain it -no extra -disrespectful -ask a question/question her work and shell look at you like your dumbest person ever -no review Choose wisely, chances to pass are slim! Thank you
Didnt help you understand how she got the information. If you asked questions she would say guess you guys need a quiz on this. Said you needed to practice problems 20-50 times to understand it.
Would NOT recommend if math is not your strong suit, she understands the course material but does not give insight into how to comprehend, will just tell you you need to practice and try problems 20-30 times before you understand it (But doesn't give practice materials, Mathway etc.) test are 50% of your grade so if you bomb one good luck.
Professor Spurlock is a tough grader and tests are huge in her class. Fail one and you will spend the rest of the semester recovering. Does not give great help in lectures or notes. When the class does not understand something, she thinks a pop quiz in necessary when really we need explanations and help.
Worst professor I have had so far at AACC. If math is not your strong suit, just do yourself a favor and avoid her at all cost. Actually, avoid her regardless.
She's old fashion paper and pencil and doesn't use the textbook. She gives out thick packets to work through and take notes, but doesn't give clear instruction. She expects you to know a lot from previous years, so be prepared.
The way professor Spurlock teaches is disgusting, and the fact that this college still has her employed is quite sickening. I've had better teachers in middle school. She teaches out of thick packets that have nothing but definitions, and then problem examples on them. She rushes through these packets, not explaining anything but rather --continued
Just reads off theorem definitions instead of explaining them. Laughs and repeats "Huh?" when students try to answer her questions. After a pathetic lecture, gives pop quizzes to "reinforce" her garbage teaching, and then harshly grades them- the homework too. Who grades HW strictly? Seriously, its pathetic. She feeds off of you not knowingmaterial
I still don't know what a basis is, and I also don't know basically everything else pertaining to linear algebra. I received an A in this course. If you are taking linear algebra, please memorize the equivalent conditions for non-singular matrices. That was on basically every test. When we asked questions, she laughed. That scared me.
Do not take her class if you have not already mastered algebra, or don't take her class in general. Teaches out of heavy packets, just does the problems on the board and expects you to follow. Laughs at you if you ask a question and says "you should already know this, i'm not explaining it". Tests are huge part of grade, multiple pop quizzes.
She gives homework packets that are based on the lectures, so if you miss a lecture you are screwed. She is an extremely tough grader, and her criteria are not well-outlined. Good luck!
Professor Spurlock is extremely strict with grading. You must follow certain steps & formats for submitting work or she will take points off your assignment. Tests are a HUGE part of your grade. She teaches by using packets. Problems she goes over are NOTHING like what you will see on the test. Use the videos to actually teach you in order to pass.
She teaches everything out of packets, and most of the questions from homework, quizzes, and tests are not covered in class. I was really good at math, but her instructions are so unclear that it was nearly impossible for me to do well.
This class was terrible. She was not understanding at all when we were confused, and her tests/quizzes/homework consisted of completely different questions than the packets she taught from in class. I am glad I dropped the class early on.
Overall, Prof Spurlock is a good professor. I did not do well in her class, but that is because I am terrible at math. There are lots of opportunities for extra help. She gives you guided notes to go along with her lectures, which makes it super easy to follow along. She also does not use the textbook and she even recommends not using it.
ONLINE SYNCHRONOUS Professor Spurlock uses a typical lecture and here is homework questions. Go into her class knowing all your algebra because she expects you to know everything going in. She is very lecture heavy and she makes none of it really interesting and I do not retain any knowledge. I only passed because I got a tutor.
Absolutely horrible at running an online class. Her outline is all over the place, assignments are unclear, she communicates in different ways instead of just IN THE COURSE. Does NOT grant extensions for work due to hospitalizations (perfect for COVID). Has no idea how to work Canvas. Uses bad videos from the 80s because she can't teach herself.
I'm GOD AWFUL at math & Professor Spurlock expects you to do well, it seemed really daunting and I BOMBED the first test. I almost dropped the class but was told to stick with it, I'm so glad I did-passed with an A but I worked super hard for it. She gives you extra credit but go to her office hours-it is the only way I passed!!
The worst professor Ive had at AACC.
If you work hard, you will succeed! Professor Spurlock inspires students to work hard and be better humans. She is available during office hours and takes time to give quality explanations.
Takes significant points off for wrong format, does not specify what you did wrong so you can't really fix it in the future. Voice is mundane and does lectures for every class. Refuses to help after 5 pm and on weekends, which is unfair because some people have jobs. Expects you to know basic algebra, even if you took algebra 30+ years ago.
Absolutely awful, all she does is lectures and most of the material on tests she never goes over once in class. Also very lazy and messes up her work about seven times a class. Her only grades are tests and chapter reviews and she never teaches you how to do those problems so you are screwed from the start.
If you are taking this class be prepared to go to office hours and struggle even if your good at math. The lectures she has do not correlate at all to assignments or tests making them pretty useless and doesnt give good enough feedback for you to improve. A real rating would be a 2.5/5.
Went into this class with high hopes. About a month in, and I am currently going to her 2-hour lecture where I learn absolutely nothing, and then I go to tutoring right after so I can learn the same thing. The whole thing is packets. She spends maybe 10-20 minutes on topics that take days to learn and she expects you to know everything. Terrible.
Professor Spurlock is great! She answers questions and goes through material if you need help. If you ask for help, she will happily offer you some. I'm terrible at math. I didn't expect to do well, but she definitely helped make learning a little easier. I dont know what the other reviews are talking about. I recommend taking her in person though.
The class is hard, but she always tries her best to help everyone understand. The class is lecture heavy and attendance is mandatory. Taking an in-person class is better for a class like this, especially if you aren't good at math. Don't be afraid to ask questions. She will even stay after class for a little to answer/ explain more.
No tech savviness and navigating her courses were rough in Canvas. She did not have set dates for testing in the syllabus and would send a mass email stating a test would be in two days with only a 24 hour window to take it, usually from 5pm to 5pm. I'm a multi semester Dean's List student, so it took a while to realize that it was her, not me.
I have taken Calculus 4 times. On the 4th attempt I had Spurlock and she made it so my brain was grasping the concepts and I understood what I was doing. She was very understanding and willing to make accommodations when necessary for me.
The worst professor I had in my entire life, I took her for a summer class because it was 1/2 classes I needed for my associates, worst mistake. She replies on canvas as if she has no brain. Do not take her! She should be fired.
Professor Spurlock is by far the worst teacher I've had at AACC. Be aware that she expects you to know a high level of algebra, even if you haven't taken math in a long time, and that she will take A LOT of points for stupid things. DO NOT TAKE HER! I passed because I am good at math and got a tutor.
Professor Spurlock is incredibly kind and willing to put in the extra time in class or during office hours to help you understand the material. I met with her at least once a week to better understand the material. I really struggled in the beginning but was able to push through and squeeze an A out of the class thanks to her help.
Do not take
If you pay attention and study, you will pass the class. She is extremely tough grader it seems impossible to get an A. She is unclear about expectations.
Professor Spurlock is super kind. She is willing to work with you, she explains everything step by step. She gives study guides for exams and final exam. Sometimes she is a bit spontaneous with "readiness quizzes" but it's always about what we learned. She loves doing group work & we go up and explain what we did. I would take her again.
A pretty good Professor. She was always willing to stay after class if you had questions. She was incredibly test heavy and loved group work. She did expect you to come into the class with a significant amount of background knowledge which made some chapters a struggle. She was very goo about giving out test reviews that were close to the test.
The way she grades each question is ridiculous and she takes points off for stupid stuff. With my whole class the only assignments she ever really grades were the ones everyone failed. In my opinion she was hard to approach.
This professor is not for the weak. She is 100% strict on cheating or using any other methods. doesn't do "pity points" and is harsh on mistakes. BUT, if you truly want to learn math and have it stick, then this is the professor I suggest. She will challenge you to be the best that you can be. Very kind and patient, and will email you back at 3am.
Professor Spurlock is great. If you take this class and don't understand the content, go to tutoring or her office hours. She cares about her students and will put in the time to make sure you know the work.
As a person, Mrs. Spurlock is very nice and easy to talk to. As a teacher, something just doesn't work. She grades everything like a test and takes off points for every little thing. Also, the homework and tests never matched up with what we did in class, so you could never even use your notes to help with homework. The mean on every exam was
Prof Spurlock's MAT-230 class is great if you are capable of locking in and spending time studying. If you have minimal math foundation then you may struggle. She is very caring and helpful. Also, I have not had many math teachers in the past who have the skill of explaining different concepts very fluently to people of different starting points.
This teacher was inflexible when providing helpful feedback. This teacher will also mark off anything you forget to write or display in your answer or graphs. If you have trouble understanding a concept learned in class that day, she will still test you. There are no make ups in this class, doesn't matter what the excuse is.
The lectures she provides are amazing and are super helpful to keep you engaged. She's really helpful outside of classroom hours and responds pretty quickly to emails.
If you are a shy student you can request to not participate in class which is appreciated. Use the study guides!!! the study guides have very similar questions to the test Go to every class, she hands out a quick test at the end of every class and sometimes allows your notes Communicate with her if you are struggling and go to her office hours
I personally did not like her because she came across as a little condescending at times. She does not take the time to fully explain what you have done wrong if you get the wrong answer either. However, this did not really affect my ability to understand the course.
if math isn't your strongest subject you will not benefit from this class she's not very helpful, and there is no textbook, no online work, just handouts, and no help. Also, she is not very friendly and her lectures are a waste of your time and somewhat degrading by her condescending comments.
Expect each assignment to be worth as much as an exam. You must turn in your assignments on the day it's due or else your grade is penalized by 25% if it is late. She is not helpful and sometimes does not understand the material being taught. She will also want you to find math videos with at least 3 examples. If you don't, your grade is penalized
First off, if you are a shy student and are planning on taking a class by her, I would not recommend it at all.. This professor is VERY big on random name calling. Expect a significant amount of homework, often times a packet taking up to a hour to complete, and its not the only one due. Very strict grader, and takes off points for small mistakes.
Prof Spurlock's class is challenging, but worth it if you put in the effort. Her teaching style may take some adjustment, but she's helpful in office hours. Using Unstuck AI and the free textbook helped me grasp the concepts.
A little bit of a heavy grader, but is very helpful to questions or concerns within material! Has a-lot of extra after class help for any needs.
If one rating helps you decide whether or not to take this professor im begging you let it be this. There are no explanations. none. She will pull numbers out of absolutely nowhere and tell you nothing about where they came from. She speaks in riddles and this single class is ruining my gpa and im GOOD at math like this is not normal okay bye
Wastes lots time focusing on motivational quotes, students not answering her questions when she gets many of the in-class problems wrong, gives many assignments that do not relate to the take home assignments. Very bad at updating Canvas. Knows the math but is terrible at teaching it, then blames the class when everyone gets a 50 on the test.
Was scared at first, she won't straight up give u the answer but that's ok but she'll make sure you get it. Very nice and eases into u. She was always caring of each student and made sure if anyone was confused that you do have help. Would take her class again.
No math class is going to be easy. This professor was nice and assigned little homework. Encouraged you to work with other students. Grades based on correctiveness did not weigh as much as completion. Lectures are mid.
Workload is insane.
One of the worst professors i've ever had. i've never been the best at math but she made it SO much worse. there were multiple instances where she gave us multiple pop quizzes with like 15-20 minutes left in the class. All she would talk about is having a “growth mindset”. The first 2 exams we took both had averages of below 50%. Don't take her.
She is very very strict when it comes to stupid things. Removes large amounts of credit even if you use a pen on an assignment(about 50%). Does absolutely nothing online. Does not reply to emails. Large amounts of papers, moves quickly, and doesn't give help very often. Lots of surprise assignments and homework. Not super comprehensible.
