Prof. Berube is one of the best professors I have had at AVC. She explains material clearly. Yes, her tests are not the easiest, but she provides study guides that are directly related to the test questions. She also goes out of her way to hold extra study sessions with students who request them, and will sit with you until you understand.

She's a wonderful teacher. I like, comeplete enjoy her class. Yes, her tests are not the easiest, but the study guides that she gives are totaly related to the test questions.She stays with you after class and gives time to retake a test when i missed class. Great! I recommend her to everyone!

Melissa Berube is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She knows the material backwards and forwards and is always willing to help. The tests are hard and you actually have to study, but the study guides she gives help a lot. She's funny and very friendly. I'd recommend her to everyone.

I had her for lab. She is very kind and explains well. She also takes the time to make sure everyone understands. Go to the study session. They are helpful. Also study for the weekly quiz and it is easy.

Melissa is so supportive and helpful. She is what got me thru Biology this semester. She will meet with you outside of class if you need help. Print out the lecture notes (a lot of paper but worth it), do the study guide, and pay attention in lecture and you will do fine.

One of my most favorite classes she helped me out a lot and yeah its a hard class but its up to you to do the study guides which are exactly what are on her test!!

Melissa is honestly the best teacher I have had yet! I felt like I was struggling in the beginning, I reached out to her and she was there 100% of the time! I ended up with an A in the class!! As long as you do the study guides for lecture and reach out to her for assistance, you're bound to get an A! I suggest her lab as well. Shes AWESOME!!

If you need a professor who will take as much time as you need to go over the material, provide you with all of the necessary tools to succeed in the class, and spend her personal time offering study sessions/review sessions for each and every exam in this Biology class then this is your woman! She is amazing as an educator is highly recommended.

I had Melissa for both lab and lecture for Biol 101. You can't possibly fail her exams since she provides her lecture notes online, creates a fool-proof study guide for each exam, offers study sessions for every exam, and reviews the material as much as the class requests! If you are uneasy about Biology, this woman will make you love this class!

Ms. Berube is one of the best teacher's I've ever had. She will work with you and answer all your questions. She uses her powerpoint slides for teaching and the tests come from that. She also provides study guides and will review them with you after hours. She should be hired full time.

I entered this class dreading biology but with her teaching, I came to love biology class! She will answer your questions thoroughly during lecture and lab. If you study her study guides, it should not be hard to ace the tests.

This class was great and pretty easy, even though I took it over summer. I had her for lab and all of the tests were easy multiple choice (midterm and final were 30 Q). There were short 8Q tests everyday, which accounted for a decent chuck of the grade. She explains clearly and even has review days!

She's soo nice and there when you need her. Her tests are multiple choice short answers and long answers so be ready to study but overall I highly recommend her ohhh and she also drops your lowest test score

I found this class to be pretty tough, study study study I do know she tries to make sure everyone understands the material, so she is a good teacher she's just not an easy A.

Melissa is awesome. She is always there if you have questions and emails back promptly. Yes, you need to study for tests but we're in college.. you should have to work for your grade. As long as you do the study guides and actually study, you will be more than prepared for the tests. I would strongly recommend her. Also no textbook needed!

I had Melissa for Biology Lecture and its definitely not an easy class and she lets you know that at the beginning of the semester. But she is very willing to meet out of class and help with students who need it. She even had a final review night and brought pizza and coffee as she went over past tests and the final which saved my grade! S

This teacher is the best!!! You have to study and a lot but you will love biology and love to study it!! She is smart, funny and helpful! You will pass just really focus on the big huge study guide you will get an A. She will always be there to answer any questions and she emails you back right away at anytime! BEST EVER!!!

Sadly AVC lacks instructors such as Melissa. She is clear both in her lectures and advice. She in my opinion made the course as fun as can be, that being said her class is no joke. Shes always willing to help and clearly cares about her students. She covers A LOT of content so being absent is not something you want to do. 100 out of 10 -Agustin

Highly recommend. Her lectures are long and tough to get by because they are Saturday mornings but 100% worth it. Her lectures are interesting and her tests are exactly the same as the study guides. Half written, half multiple choice but if you study the material it's easy to pass the tests.

Melissa is an amazing biology teacher. You can tell she really loves what she does and she loves her subject. Class is long, but full of information. Gives study guides for some classes, when she does it's excellent. Study notes and you'll be fine. She's funny too, which can help during 9AM Saturday classes. AVC needs more teachers like Melissa.

Melissa is super helpful. I struggle with biology and she goes over every thing in the lab book step-by-step and she walks the class through the actual lab reports before we do them. We answer a lot of the questions as a class. She gives study guides and holds study sessions before exams, so it's really easy to pass.

Biology is a very tough subject! But Melissa is very helpful! Every class she gives a quiz, lecture, and then you do your lab. Her lectures are incredibly helpful! Also, if you need help... ask her and she WILL help you! You must turn in a pre-lab at the beginning of each class and she gives extra credit assignments if you need a couple extra pts.

Gives you all lectures before class through black board. Lectures can be printed out and are fill in the blanks for important stuff. Test are multiple choice and 1 long answer and two short answers. she tells you exactly where you need to study these answers. Post grades on blackboard. Best to get in her lab & lecture at the same time

I LOVED HER!!! Honestly she is probably the only reason why I got a high grade in my lecture class. She makes everything so easy for you to understand and can relate on your level. I love her attitude and overall teaching skills. I wish I could take her for all my sciences. Highly recommended. Do all her extra credit it will help tremendously

Loved Melissa, had her for lecture & lab, wish all teachers were like her. Her class is harder than some but she has an easier grading scale to compensate. Has study guides for all tests and will even review the study guides for you. There is extra credit on the tests and she offers extra credit in lab as well. Very thorough and wonderful teacher!

She was the best choice compared to the other lab instructors, make sure you have smart members in your lab group and not the lazy ones that do nothing . She's a tough grader on certain assignments, then again a lot of material was crammed into 8 weeks. Hard class, good instructor.

So all I have to say is this teacher is wonderful ! I would be there for every lecture and fill in the study guide as you go by chapters. If you miss lab hopefully your partners will give you the work, & expect quizzes of labs every week. Not to bad she gives you all the questions ahead of time. If you study the study guide 100% you will pass!

I LOVE this teacher. She was AMAZING. She does such a great job at explaining the material. Tests are 25 multiple choice and the rest is written but as long as you study it is really easy since she gives study guides. I would take her for all my sciences if I could.

Great instructor. Had her for lecture, and I'm very happy I did. One can tell she loves teaching as well as cares for her students. Grade in the class is based only on your exams, but she provides you with a study guide for each exam which mirrors the exams almost exactly. Provides you with the notes needed, so my textbook was not opened once.

She lectures and tests are based on the notes you take together as a class. You wont need the textbook for lecture but it is helpful to have in Lab. She is very competent in the material and it shows. She is happy to answer questions and provides real world context to the material and this really helped me learn.

Best teacher ever! She is funny! Her Bio class is well structured. Easy A because she explains everything very clear! All you have to do is be in class to take notes. If you miss one class, you need to get notes from other class mates, otherwise you would not be able to do get answers for the study guides for test.

I had her for lab only unfortunately. I really wish I could have had her for lecture. She is so easy to understand and explains everything in great detail. Learned more from her in lab than I learned in lecture. Would definitely take her again.

Wow what can I say, the best teacher I have had in my 35 years of schooling. Has you organized and ready to go. Lots of printing notes since the book is barely used. Honestly the best education I have received thus far.

I had the pleasure of taking Melissa last semester at College of the Canyons, for General bio 100, she will go out of the way to respond to questions outside of class via email, she sends grade feedback if you ask, and will stop to go over things students don't understand. Attendance isn't mandatory but it makes the quizzes & tests a lot easier

Melissa is probably the best bio instructor I've had. I took her summer class and while it was a fast paced class, she made it interesting and worth trying for. She explained everything clearly and her study guides helped. She also cares for her students. I would recommend her!

Melissa is the most thorough professor I've ever had. She is very clear on what you need to study and what will be on the exams. Some say that she spoon feeds everyone the info, but at least she explains everything thoroughly in class and does not go off topic. That doesn't mean that her class is easy tho. As long as you can memorize, you'll pass.

I love Melissa she is the most amazing professor Ive ever had! Though her class is tough its the best option compared to other Bio lectures at Avc. She take time out of her personal schedule to help me understand the material. If you actual want to learn take this class its worth all the hard work. SHE IS AMAZING

By far, my favorite teacher at AVC. It will not be an easy A, but there also will not be any surprises on your exams. Everything you will see on your exam will be in the lecture word for word. The trick is recalling the answers word for word. I gave her a solid 5 because I feel like I walked away with a solid foundation in bio.

I absolutely love Professor Berube and if she taught any more advanced Biology I would jump on the chance to take her again. She isn't just the best teacher I've had at AVC she is the best teacher I have ever had. Her class is not an easy A, you have to put in the effort but if you do put in the effort you will walk away with a solid foundation!

I love Dr. Berube!! She is absolutely amazing. I excelled in her class but I know a few people that didn't (but they didn't try very hard). All you have to do is listen during lectures and do her study guides and you will get an A. Her tests are practically the study guides so just do those and study them and you are golden.

comes off intimidating but isnt as mean as she looks. terminology is very on point and will at times have me confused( I am not the only one in the class) I wish she would break things down more and teach elementary biology and physiology like elementary biology.. some of us havent been in school for years and need a refresher.

Best bio instructor I have ever had! I was very intimidated by her at first but she cares about her students and goes above & beyond to help them succeed. She has an amazing ability of explaining difficult topics to students, gives clear instructions of what is expected on tests & is available for any extra help.I wish all instructors were like her

Her teaching style was extremely helpful. She is very clear with her expectations and her feedback to pass the class. She lectures the whole time with power points, but they are very informational. If you have a question, she explains very well. I'm happy to say I actually learned. Wish she taught more advance classes. I would def take her again!

I took Berube for anatomy lecture and she was great! The lectures are a lot but she explains things very well. She is always open to questions whether emailing her or going to office hours, she is always willing to help you. She gives clear study guides for the exams and as long as you know them you'll pass no problem.

I had her for lecture and she explains very well and tries to help you understand. She takes her time and helps when necessary. Exams are pretty easy if you study the study guides. Study guides are given basically during the 2nd week of class.

I like her class. She always tells you what you need to be doing and is always willing to answer questions. She releases all the study guides for the rest of the semester on the second week of class and you only need to fill in the blank for her lecture notes.

She is not an easy teacher....but ive learned from that i was very lazy and kinda dumb before her class. She challanges you and it feels hard but it helps your grow if your used to an easy A....you will have to learn to study hard . I tried my best and im doing well. She will help u pass with an A if you are willing to WORK for it!

If you put in the work and effort, you will be greatly rewarded. Anatomy is not easy but Berube teaches the content in such a simple and understandable way. You will learn so much from her class but be prepared to take class seriously. Gives the best study guides and is very clear what will be on the exams. No hw but you need to study for exams

Professor B is an exceptional professor whose professional abilities have greatly impacted my academic journey. Her teaching style is dynamic and engaging, making even the most challenging concepts in anatomy accessible and interesting. She employs a variety of teaching methods that are hands on, lecture study guides. Would recommend taking her!

Professor B is an awesome professor if your learning style matches her teaching. I took her BIOL 201 class during the summer so I cannot compare my experience to a 16-week course. However, if you want an easy A this professor may not be the one for you. Once you understand how to study for her tests your overall learning ability will be stronger.

Prof B is amazing!! She has study guides that are exactly like the test. She also has free-response questions, but not to worry; if you complete your study guide, she will check it for you. The class is hard because of the material & timing. Never failed a test but cried out of stress many times. No homework but study study study.

Professor Berube is amazing and I learned so much from her lectures. Study the material, do the study guides, and study a week prior to exams. I suggest for studying invest in a whiteboard and practice writing out the questions and answers, this will definitely help with spelling correctly and with the free responses on exams.

I don't usually enjoy science, but Prof. Berube made this topic interesting by using real life scenarios to explain technical terms. I also want to mention that she utilized Canvas well, and her materials were well-organized. Her rubrics and assignments were clear, and grading was fair. She responds quickly to questions.

I enjoyed this class so much. All the real life examples made it easy to understand. The projects were practical. I utilized the study guides, and they definitely helped me prepare for the tests. Prof. Berube always responded to my questions quickly. I've had some professors who were really confusing on Canvas, but she was very organized.

Prof. Berube made coming to an 8 week anatomy course ENJOYABLE. She does not assign homework, just gave non graded study guides, but they are the most helpful things ever. Only grades are your tests, so STUDY!! Very kind and helpful, never left anyone behind. Very clear, and never made you feel bad for asking a question. 100% recommend.

I can't say enough good things about Prof. B. She has been the best professor I have had at AVC so far. She tells you exactly how it is & what needs to be done to pass her class. She is upfront about the difficulty of this course but she always makes sure her students are where they need to be. Study guides are EXACTLY what's on the exams. 10/10!!!

So far one of the best professors I have ever had ! She is always willing to delve into topics to help you understand more and always ensures everyone understands before moving on! Anatomy is not easy at all , but she makes it simple !

I took her anatomy in the summer and I was terrified but I am so glad I did because she could not have made it easier all you have to do is actually try and put effort if youre lazy dont take the class but she makes the material interesting making you want to learn and I would definitely take her again

Biology professor Berube is amazing and wonderful professor she teaches human physiology in easy and short form simple. She does give wonderful study guides to study and prepare for tests. She is beautiful woman as well.
