Her class is very easy but her writing requirements are a little annoying.
very upbeat and loves what she does. helpful, and easy requirements. nice and quirky personality
The tests are super easy and the study objectives are very easy to follow so studying for the super easy test is just that much easier. She answers all the questions she can too.

Awesome professor and extremely helpful! Take her and you will NOT be disappointed!
Great Professor. Talks a lot. Attend class take notes and you'll be just fine. You do have to write 3 essays if u want a B or an A but they're pretty easy if u paid attention in class.
I like history a lot but I found her lectures very boring and really hard to take notes from. Her tests are very strange as well, and you have to do several essays incl. a book report to get an A. If you like hist I recommend you take a more entertaining prof. She is very passionate about her work but I hated going to class cuz it was so boring
Tests are multiple choise, if study-easy, Lectures interesting, very helpful. Compare to others - flexible, not very detaile, I would recomend!!!
I hadn't heard a lot about Bonafont before I took the class, but I can say that she's one of the best professors on campus. There are a lot of great ones, but she's one of the best. If you take her class, be prepared to do the reading and PARTICIPATE. She's great and well-worth the effort for an A.
She's a great professor. Hard, but also very helpful and always willing to lend you a hand when you need it.
She was an excellent teacher, one of the best I've ever had. Her tests are difficult, but if you studied and read the material, you should do fine. I brought a tape recorder to class which made the lectures easier to enjoy. I recommend writing the outline on the board down and recording it. Much easier to pay attention.
She is a wonderful professor. She is extremely excited about history and enjoys teaching. She gives you a list of about 50 questions weeks before a test, and uses 25 of those questions on the test. So you basically have the test prior to taking it. As long as you answer all those pre-test questions thoroughly for your studies, you have an A.
Requirements are annoying. Just outlines in class and details are in the book. Doesn't answer questions throughly. Cameron Addis is loaded with information and I suggest taking his classes for any history.
She's an interesting teacher and if you're willing you can learn alot. It can be alot of work, she makes you earn your grade. Most people who don't like the class are just too lazy to do the work.
Ms. Bonafont is a really nice teacher. She is willing to help you out if you are not doing to well on tests. A lot of reading is required so if you do not like to read then do not take this class. But over all she is really nice and excited about her class.
Funny, Helpful and nice. But her lectures are all over the place. They are either really broad or really specific. To get an A , you have to do a term paper. But to be allowed to do the term paper you have to get a "A" average on test. Not the worst teacher but i think i could have learned and gotten more out of another teacher.
you will love going to class
One of the best professors at ACC. She is like a muse, she brings out the best in her students. I found myself eager to get to class and disappointed when class ended. Warning: you might find yourself infatuated with her.
I didn't like her class. She's always very helpful with questions, but the classroom environment was dead. i learn best when i can have discussions not only with the professor, but also with classmates. and that never happened. despite that, she is a good teacher and an A in her class is easily possible as long as you read and study!!
i LOVED her. she made class so much fun. the tests were take home essays and as long as you pay attention in class and take good notes you will do well.
She's easy and funny, but her tests are confusing! They're very tricky and extremely confusing!Even though you have studied really hard on the learning objectives, you might still do bad on it if you got tricked by her test questions. And for an A, you need to have 22/25 average on 4 tests (which are extremely hard) and you have to do the Book repo
She's cool but her lectures are endless...really hard to take notes. Warning: knowing everything on the learning objectives does NOT mean you will do well on her tests! Because the questions are very confusing, they can fool you to choose the wrong answers easily. Do the book report only if you can get average 22/25 on 4 tests(an impossible thing!)
She is pretty cool and funny...but her tests are a little bit strange. Just make sure that you read the questions careful. It's very easy to get a B but nearly impossible to get an A!
She is alright... all we do is sit their and listen to her talk everyday....
The tests are easy, the only "confusing" part is most of the questions are "which of the following is NOT" type set-ups. She makes a horribly boring subject moderately interesting. You can miss up to 4 classes. You have to write a 6pg book report for an A, just do well on the tests for a B
not helpful and boring
Awesome teacher. She's really nice and funny. Lectures are a bit long tho but tests are easy if you do the learning objective questions and take notes during class. book report (6 pgs) is required for an A. I recommend her to everyone looking for a good history teacher that isnt hard but not a sleep through either.
I have zero interest in history but her lectures were sometimes interesting. Her mannerisms made it worth coming to class. She'd always say something wacky, like asking who wants to channel Thomas Jefferson's spirit so we could ask him questions. She was helpful, but the tests were tricky. Still an easy B, or A if you write the book report.
She talks and talks and talks and doesn't really explain why things are happening, just that they are. When she isn't talking, she lets the class take over discussion which ends up being 3 people over analyzing the most irrelevant things for 25minutes. Easy class though, if you can stand the sitting and listening.
Her lectures are alittle on the boring side but she can be interesting, all her learning objective study guides are really easy to follow. Tests too.
This is a solid class. I cant say anything bad about her, shes a nice person. The learning objective questions she gives before each section are great and pretty much let you do good on the tests if youre not retarded.
Dr. Bonafont is a great professor. She is well prepared and allows for plenty of discussion in her class. Her tests are not very difficult if you're prepared.
GREAT teacher! as long as you do your papers to the exact specifications of her directions then you will do great! Very nice and understanding!
She was nice and all. But the way she spoke was very confusing to undertanding and the lectures were quite frankly boring! I do not reccomend her at all!
Her tests are super hard. Class isn't mandatory, but her tests are 90% of her lectures. She's pretty funny and nice, but her lectures are boring.
Awesome professor, her class lectures were very interesting and if you take good notes and do the chapter objectives you will have no problem passing the class.
She's very organized. She is passionate about her subject. Knowledgeable and nice. Her lectures flow very well. Recommended.
If all you want to learn about is civil rights issues from the past, then this is the class for you. You have to do a lot of reading to find all of the other things that happened in history that she does NOT teach, but expects you to know. Take someone else!
Very organized, seems to like her job. She gives learning objectives for each test. If you read the book and answer them, you'll do beautifully. She also offers a chance for 10 ec pts. Lecture could get extremely boring, but its history... c'mon. NO homework, go to class and read and you'll be just fine.
Chill professor. Just listen to her lectures and maybe skim the book to get an A. 10 basic extra credit points for 2 additional papers. A pretty basic class.
Lectures are extremely boring.Doesnt stay on topic. Teaches stuff you don't need to know, might as well skip class and just read the book. Tests are hard due to her lack of teaching the right material. Approaching her after a test is pointless, you dont get real feedback. Highly dont recommend her!
Lectures are boring. But she tries to keep you focused and engaged. gives you outlines and follows them. Tests are hard... 25 multi choice questions that read "All of the following are TRUE except...." .. and an essay (prompt given before test to prepare) ... takes roll everyday... was understandable w/ personal issues. loves her job&enjoys history
She was really interesting to listen to and after we got past the Industrial period that class actually got better and better. Great professor and multiple opportunities for extra credit.
Fun and lively professor. Made material very clear. Take good notes (or record the lecture) and read the book for the answers to the questions she gives before every unit and you'll get an A!
I hated History, but her class was super easy. Tests are easy and the short answer essays can be written how ever you like! Her voice/accent is kind of distracting at first, but as the semester goes by, she's really funny! Wish she taught HIST 1302!
Dr. Bonafont is extremely smart but SUPER ditzy. She gets lost very easily when discussing topics and tends to flip-flop between chapters during lectures. She spends too much time on giving background of time periods and her required textbook SUCKS!
I think she is an excellent instructor and I am taking her for US HIST II. She only lectures, so having a recorder is important. Her supp teacher aid Grant.. SUCKS. Waste of time on him.. still got an A. Come to class, pay attention, read your book and take notes.. Easy A. 4 Multiple choice test with essay (kinda hard)
The lectures are quite drawn out, I would suggest recording her classes anytime you can. She is a really nice Professor but what I appreciate most is that she is straight forward. There are four tests, 25 MPC and a one page essay. She even gives you the essays before hand! There is no hidden work in this class, what you see is what you get.
Great teacher, keeps it interesting. Very straight forward, 4 tests (25 MC, 1 Essay). Essay questions are given ahead of time and she will review it with you. Gives study questions to answer with reading which will help with the test. Do the work and you'll get the A.
Professor Bonafont is one of the nicest professors I've had, and she does a relatively good job at teaching the material. Although she can get really off topic at times, she tries her best to explain what you need to know. that being said, you NEED to read the book if you want an A. she covers a lot in class but certainly not everything on the test
I really enjoyed her course and I learned a lot. She does get off topic every once in awhile and that can get confusing. Those she is nice and silly, she can get an attitude and make off-color comments to/about classmates that leave early or make mistakes.
Prof. Bonafont is very nice, but verrrrry boring. She just stands up there and talks at you. No videos, no visual aids, no fun assignments. Just straight lecture and book reading. I love history as a topic, but this class isn't my thing.
All lecture.. write quickly or you will fall behind.. took her for US HIST 1 and 2. She's not a bad teacher.. just goes through the material very quickly.. and if you miss a day.. GET NOTES.. her test are 25 multiple choice and an essay... Essy is pretty easy if you study the material... Got an A
Just talks at you for hours. Take notes and study the learning objecives. Short compare and contrast essays on every test are easy. Read the chapters as the class goes along and you'll have an easy time with the multiple choice.
Fantastic human being! Great teacher, even though I hate US History, so to me it was extremely boring. Moderately easy A. Just 4 tests: multiple choice/1 essay per test. However, if you want the A you have to actually read and pay attention during class, instead of surf Facebook/Twitter the entire time like many in my class did...and failed.
Bonafont is a great person to be around, but I found it hard to follow her lecture outline, I'm never sure if she's just going more into detail about a topic of if it's going to be important for the tests. I can rarely find what she was talking about in the text book.
Dr. B is awesome. Her tests are kinda hard but if you do the reading and study guides you'll do fine. She's really fun and makes history interesting.
MS B is awesome, her class is all lecture and you can easily fall off if you aren't paying attention.but id recommend taking notes on a computer for her class if you aren't really good at writing and listening. Her tests aren't too difficult but its important to study and id advice you write out her essay the night before! it helps!!
Definitely knows her stuff. She makes history fun. Make sure to reference sources in the essay and you'll get a 10/10. The tests itself are overly hard. Her lecture style leaves you with hundreds of pages of information with no idea what you would be tested over. Unless you're really good at reading comprehension, don't expect an A in this class.
Professor Bonafont is a super nice and understanding prof. Attendance is part of your grade, read the book and answer outline questions to prep for her exams, take good notes, and pre write your essays prior to exam time. Also read supplemental book prior to class for discussions. Lecture alone will not help you pass without all the above.
Very fair, made the content more enjoyable through discussion and activities. Look forward to this class if you have her.
I found her lectures to be quite confusing. She didn't really give clear answers to the learning objectives, which are the questions which are on tests. She made us read a chapter from a textbook of only primary sources in order to have a discussion in class, which I unnecessary. There was a lot of work to do with not much time.
Mrs. Bonafont was hands down my favorite history professor during my time at ACC. She has interesting lectures, cracks jokes, asks poignant questions, and encourages you to ask questions and participate in lecture. She has a silly sense of humor which makes the class fun. Each test has a short essay and multiple choice. Plenty of extra credit too!
I had her for 1301 and 1302, I regret taking her twice. I like how we have 10 extra credit points available and that each test has an essay worth 10 points but her lectures are really long and boring. It was hard to pay attention. often, the test questions were just worded really difficultly. Only grades you have are tests which is hard.
Wonderful professor. I took her for 1301 and 1302. History is not my strong suit but she made it make sense. There are options for extra credit. Participation does matter and you will need to read a good amount of stuff to do well in the class. She takes role at the beginning of class. i would take her again if I needed another history credit
I've had Bonafont for two classes now and as a future History Professor myself I must say she is an inspiration for me to continue my career path. I only wish I had more credit courses to take that she teaches.
For those who love history, take this class. For those who don't, well, it's everything you'd expect from a college-level history class. Professor Bonafont is very good at what she does. Her lectures are very straightforward. She also encourages class discussion over documents and controversial events, which can be extremely engaging and fun.
Really cool professor! she is very nice and good at what she does! personally i couldnt really pay attention to her lectures in class cause she doesnt use powerpoint but she's still good and i earned a mediocre A in her class and would definitely take her again!
Great preparation, materials; everything seemed to be well-prepared. UNderstand this is a history course so there is a lot of reading. There were many opportunities for extra credit that was worthwhile.
Professor Bonafont is one of the most helpful teachers i have ever had in my student life. She is always there to help. I asked her about a question not relating to her class and she answered it and helped without asking any questions. Simply amazing teacher. Participate in class its not hard, do essays before test, DO THE LEARNING OBJECTIVES.
Best history teacher ever!! She's very helpful and dedicated. You should definitely take her class.
Great Prof. Extra Credit available throughout the semester. Tests aren't bad but do include an essay on each test. You get to choose what essay topic you want to write about and you see the topic about a week in advance. Easy A if you can retain information.
Very nice and knowledgeable teacher. lots of reading but her class isn't bad at all!
Easy A if you do the learning objectives and write the essay out before each test (She gives you the essay topic 1 week before the test) Only complaint is that lectures are kind of boring, they consist of her talking and that's about it.
I did not do well because I did not try. I found her lectures extremely boring. But, she is a good teacher and gives clear instructions. Very nice professional lady. DO THE LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Prof. Bonafont has a simple syllabus that allows you to always be prepared even when the semester gets hectic. I took her for both of my US Hist. classes and I could not have chosen a better prof. She is the best and cares more about understanding the material and cultural impact of events than memorizing dates!
Expectations for her classes are very clear. She hands out learning objectives for each chapter and builds the tests around those. Come to each class prepared to participate in discussions over the reading and you will excel! I took her for HIST 1302 as well. She does a fantastic job of unbiased teaching.
Proff Bonafont gives test reviews around which she builds each test. There are a lot of extra credit options available though I did not do any of them due to laziness! Easy A , if you read each chapter, take good notes, and participate in each class discussion.
Took both her HIST 1 and 2 classes and made A's in both. Her lectures are pretty helpful but if you read the book and do the questions that go along with each chapter you will make an A. Each test has an essay part but she gives you the questions a week in advance to study. Overall a great teacher and would take her again!
I enjoyed Prof. Bonafont's class a lot. You must read the textbook and do ALL the objectives as they are all on the test. Attendance is mandatory because she grades your participation on the documents greatly. Make sure to have a good thesis in your essays and provide textual evidence from the documents. I did this and received 10s on all essays.
Her class is straight forward, although she's sometimes not very clear sometimes, and should be easy if you keep up with her lecture outlines and read both books required. Her test as somewhat hard just because she adds trick questions.
Honestly, I had to drop this class because of its difficulty, but if you are really good with keeping up with readings you are good to go. She's an extremely sweet human, she makes lectures interesting and she is great at meeting during her office hours. id recommend if you are a heavy reader. Her tests were extremely hard for me personally.
Lot of reading! But this is college so it shouldn't be a surprise. The study guide is key and yes the answers are super long. The test are really tricky so you need to have a clear understanding of what was going on at the time period. Essay is easy just back up your thesis. Participation and attendance is really important to her,so go to class.
Melissa Bonafont's class is solely lectures with no powerpoint and the grading criteria are only tests and participation. Make sure you keep up with the reading and don't blow off her tests because they can be tricky and those will define your grade. Nice prof with good sense of humor. Her lectures can be boring but don't skip!
She was a delight this semester! Funny, witty, and I really enjoyed the reading materials she chose. Seriously, do the reading and show up to class, you will barely have to study.
I don't like history in general maybe that is the reason that I didn't like the class. She is a nice professor and also passionate about the subject. You have to write essays on tests and they worth 10 points and multiple choice worth 25. She is grading based on tests and attendance so need to show up. If you don't like the subject, don't take her.
There is a total of 5 grades taken which are the 5 test throughout the semester and a participation grade. The test are multiple choice and one essay question. Keep up with the reading and it will be a breeze.
She's okay but her lectures can get pretty tedious. She requires two books (one for historical information, one for historical documents), with which the study guide questions come from. She's pretty laid-back, but she'll require some in-class participation to get an A+
Bonafont is an excellent professor who is really passionate about the subject she teaches. Her classes are mainly lecture, with a bit of discussion thrown in occasionally. I have found her lectures easy to follow, but she doesn't use any visuals, so beware if you need that to learn. Overall, I found Bonafont's class relatively easy and super fun.
She's passionate about what she teaches & simply wants her students to participate. show up to class and get ready to read ALOT. 4 test (multiple choice) Including 4 essays she allows u to skip 1 of 4 eassay & provides eassay topics a week in advance but you must use examples from the book in order to get a good grade on essays.
Bonafont is a great professor. Her course consist of 4 test (3 of which have essays) and a buffer test which gives you an idea of the her testing format. There are zero in-class assignments and the only hw are the readings. Her lectures can drag on a bit but overall a solid choice for a professor. Would take again.
I took the summer course, and it was not as bad. A LOT of reading but the teacher is very nice! The essays were not as difficult since she did not grade hard on them. It is honestly easy if you try and read/ pay attention to her lectures. It is kind of confusing to follow along but the tests are simple. Lectures are dreadful in somewhat way too.
Took a semester of History 1301. Was the worst decision of my life. Her lectures are very ongoing and seem like they never end, on a test that the whole class failed she went on a rant about how we were her worse class and did not curve it. Takes points based on participation which nobody actually does because she does not stop lecturing.
This teacher cant get any worse. Test have nothing to do with the learning objectives that she gives you and lectures for the entire class . I never missed a day of that class and still took off points for attendance and participation. Do not take her class
I felt like her lectures have been inconsistent. Many times she's been going off topic which really bothers me. Generally, the class remains quiet most of the time, very few students ever respond to her questions during her lectures. I don't recommend this professor.
Professor Bonafont is a very nice lady but her teaching style is insanely boring and ongoing. She lectures the entire class and half of the time she doesn't really make sense, so it's hard to follow. I got through her class by teaching myself, and doing the review for the tests. I would not take her unless you like heavy and ongoing lectures.
Only grades you get are the "Practice test" + the other 4 unit tests. She literally just rambles for an hour and a half and is prone to getting off topic. Very boring method of teaching, however, she is really nice and grades easy when it comes to the essay portion of her tests.
She's an amazing professor. I had her for US History II and I plan to take her US History I class in the fall. She gives 4 tests total (including the final which is not accumulative). The tests are 25 multiple choice and one long essay question. Her lectures are helpful and gives clear study outlines for each test.
I enjoyed prof. Bonafont this semester. She hands out learning objectives at the beginning of every unit and outlines to follow during her lectures. As long as you keep up with the readings and learning objectives then you're good to go! Having said that, you are required to purchase two books (they come in a bundle) that are vital to passing.
I truly enjoyed this class. Professor Bonafont is a great professor and I enjoyed her lectures. She encouraged participation and questions. She also hands out learning objectives and an outline for each section. It is a decent amount of work to get all the questions answered, but it will make the tests much easier.
Bonafont is the nicest professor at ACC! always so sweet and willing to answer any question you may have. Her tests are hard but if you read the book and study the learning objectives, you are going to be fine. Going to class is not going to help you if you are not reading the book!! No extra credit, only participation, 4 tests, and a practice test
I'd rather watch paint dry than attend this class. Her lectures were SO boring and focused a lot on class participation. I participated quite a lot and didn't receive full credit. History should be fun, but I dreaded coming to class every day. She lectured the whole 2 hr class, read boring documents, and had you memorize an essay every exam.
Prof. Bonafont has an infectious love for US History- she really knows her information and what the course is all about. She adds a lot of additional information. This class is only lecture, with 3.5 tests you're graded on. Heavy on the reading homework- but no papers or anything else otherwise. She's a wonderful teacher if you're ok with lecture.
She was a very nice professor, and super understanding. I do think she really cares about the success of her students. I will say, lectures are VERY BORING and every test you have to have an essay with 3 sources memorized. The lectures don't have any powerpoints or videos so I pretty much just taught myself from the book.
Amazing professor! 4 tests,3 of those with an essay that she gives options for a week in advance, she gives learning objectives for each unit test& outlines for each chapter u only need to read!NO PAPERS! Honestly if u read and take notes it should be an easy B or A. Her lectures are interesting pay attention & take notes. I've taken her before.
if you are fine with long lectures, whole bunch of reading. i mean reading two books come on i dont got time to read two books. there is no homework, no powerpoint, no extra credit. i wouldnt recommend taking this class if you dont like just lectures for the whole class. school is just a waste too just trying to get a degree and move on with life.
Bonafont is the best. Super interesting and engaging lectures, infectiously passionate about history. You will read a LOT from both textbooks but readings are genuinely interesting. Participation is important! Makes you work for an A, but gives you a true understanding of and love for history in return. 100% would and will take again.
I do not recommend her!! Please choose someone else if you got an option. LECTURES ARE VERY BORING. She never stops! Tests are very confusing and also have an essay section but she gives out the options a week ago. She def needs to change her lecture style. Nobody paid attention in class. If you are forced to choose her, good luck.
Took Prof. Bonafont's HIST1301 over the summer. 4 tests (25 MCQ each) and 4 in class optional essays, but only had to pass 3 essays to get an A. She gave us the essay prompts ahead of time to prep. There was A LOT of reading, and she lectured nonstop. She did cover most of the stuff on the test, if not just make sure to look over learning obj.
Great attitude, but horribly disorganized lessons and a lot of at home reading. The material she goes over in class is not on the test, its all the at home work
Prof Bonafont was by far the best instructor I have had at ACC by miles. She is very straightforward about how to get an A in her class and does everything she can to assist. Truly a gem.
Bonafont is really sweet but her lectures were boring and she talks very monotoned. You will need the textbook to pass this class but you can find the PDF online. Her tests were alright, make sure to study or you won't pass. You have to read before every class because we had class discussions everyday. Bonafont will help if you attend office hours.
I do not understand how I ended up with the grade I received. I gave 110% effort for this class. I read everything that was required which was quite a lot I even went above and beyond and read the extra documents. The tests had a lot of trick questions and the essays I wrote every week were worth basically nothing. This class is all about the tests
I barely got an 80 in the class and I'm normally good at history. The test questions are very tricky and the answers were process-of-elimination for me, but the discussions and essays are very easy to do. Be sure to read the textbook thoroughly and watch the lectures, or you might not do as well as you would like. Gives good feedback on essays.
Lots of reading from multiple textbooks. Tests are very important, however, the questions are tricky and study guides aren't much help. Her lectures are hard to listen to. Would pick someone else.
Professor Bonafont is very accessible if you need help and goes beyond to meet with students and explain thoroughly the material. There are 4 exams, lectures are very important, 2 textbooks (one to help for tests and the other for essays), as well as discussion boards. Very organized. Make sure to study often & you'll be fine!
Great online class, easy class if you like history and don't mind writing papers. I am not an elephant and so exams were harder for me.. but still made a B with discussion boards and writing two papers. She is a sweet teacher and provides videos with her lectures. I really recommend her and enjoyed it.
Very monotone, but the class was pretty fair. A lot of reading and have to post about what you read each chapter. 4 test, I recommended studying based on the objectives she gives you for each chapter. Tests are short so if you don't read you will not pass. Good thing is you only have to write 2 essays and they are graded for credit or no credit.
A practice test and 4 unit tests. Study guides for each unit and PowerPoint lectures. Advise good note taking and taking advantage of the Student Instructor study group. One paper and an extra credit opportunity essay. Tests are 20 questions and it's a lot of "all of these are correct EXCEPT". Definitely do the study guide and SI meetings.
Professor Bonafont was an incredibly nice teacher, and was always very engaging in her lectures. I usually am bored by history but she made it interesting. She stops several times throughout the lectures to ask about thoughts or opinions. The three tests aren't hard as long as you study the objectives she gives.
This was the easiest asynchronous class I've ever taken, but it was also very interesting. Professor Bonafont offers plenty of extra credit, and the assignments are very doable. Recommend this class to anyone who wants to receive the best possible grade for History while also maintaining interest!
She goes really into depth into the content, where she could be a good substitute for textbook reading. She always responds to emails quickly and is overall just a really good professor.
There's only one paper and the rest of the grades are tests. The recorded lectures were using Socratic method so no real information was being taught. TESTS DO NOT MATCH INFORMATION IN BOOK. There were so many questions asked in the negative, so confusing. I could read the chapter, watch the videos, take notes and still get a D on a test.
Professor Bonafont has amazing lectures while really going in-depth into the primary sources of the time periods that we went over. One big paper at the end and with the sources, you really want to write it. Lots of study material but hit the important notes over the timeline and the cause and effect of events. If you have time, take this class.
Depend on your textbook! It will be your best friend. Her tests are mainly process of elimination type questions, or "all of the following are this EXCEPT" type. Put a lot of effort into your essay as well, it is a big chunk of your grade!
Professor Bonafont was great! Her class consisted of 4 test, 8 discussions, and 1 essay. The test can be tricky, but as long as you pay attention to the lecture and read you will be fine! Honestly one of the easiest classes I have ever taken.
Professor Bonafort is the best, she is so good at engaging her class, the grade is based off of 4 tests and each test you write an essay with it (she is a very easy grader for the essays) Taking notes can be difficult sometimes but just try to write down as much as she says and make sure you read the chapter before class.
Amazing lectures with lots of attention to detail! Very easy going and understanding of life, attendance isn't mandatory but definitely recommended. Would absolutely take her class again!
The most exceptional instructor! Please ensure that you attend every class, take thorough notes, and refrain from using your phone. Each exam will include an essay that is relatively easy to score. Also, make sure you have the necessary textbook, 'Voices of Freedom', as it is the only one you will require to excel in this course.
I was honestly surprised to get a C, since I dislike history alot But managing to pass is a win, lol. Her lectures are a little boring, but honestly, she's not a bad professor at all. Her grades only consist of four tests and ONE extra credit assignments no homework or anything else. It's more about memorization the subjects she is talking about .
Professor Bonafont's class is engaging and manageable. Attend lectures, read the textbook, and utilize resources like Unstuck ai for efficient study prep. Her tests are straightforward, and the essay is a great chance to showcase your learning.
Reading on top of reading however, if you keep up with the reading and study guides you'll pass. Essay portion of test is open book so that helps a lot.
Bonafont is a wonderful and caring teacher. She provides a study guide for all 4 tests, you fill out the guide from the textbook. As long as you take notes during the lecture and do the reading, the tests are extremely easy. The essay portion of the tests are straightforward and open-book. She also offers alternative-assignments to make up grades.
Prof. Bonafont was very helpful and very kind when I spoke to her during office hours. When I got some questions wrong in my test, she explained the correct answer to me. I don't recommend taking this class as High School Dual credit as I had a full day of school, went home, and did two to three more hours of ACC class work. Be prepared to read!
Amazing professor! Her online lectures were informative with a little humor here and there, making them bearable. I didn't submit my last exam on time but since I had submitted everything else on time she accepted the exam with no penalty. Totally saved my life and made learning history great!
I loved Bonafont and wish I could take more classes with her. She's very engaging and knows what she's talking about. She's very helpful during office hours and she's also very sweet. Bonafont makes history come alive! She's kind, intelligent, patient, her instructions for the online class are qite discriptive and she's always available by email.
If you're bad at tests, this wouldn't be bad. Tests are short and balanced out with discussion boards. Would take again. Took as 5 week class and would take again
I made the mistake of taking this class as a high school dual credit student. I'm so glad I took it, and I really enjoyed the content and what I learned, but OH BOY did I do HOURS of homework after leaving school. To take this class, ensure you have the time to actually read all the material. Pay attention, the tests are kind of hard aswell.
