All around good professor. Definitely helps if you take notes.

A pretty crammed summer course, but doable. I rented the book but never opened it. Passed with a 91%. If you're taking summer class only take notes over the PowerPoints each day. there's a mandatory book report so start reading right away! Good teacher.

She gave really good lectures. Related the metal back to her own life experiences helping the metal to be a lot more relatable and understanding.

Class isn't boring. Tests are easy if you study for them. Make sure you take notes off of the powerpoints. Quite a few writing assignments, but they aren't too bad. If you don't like public speaking then I wouldn't take this class, but if you don't mind it then I would recommend taking her.

It was a really interesting class and she clears things up pretty well. It wasn't a difficult class, just make sure you study for the tests. She makes things easier for the students, and clearly does the best she can to ensure the student's success. She was pretty much a perfect professor in my opinion. Good luck, and have fun! :D

Professor made class relatively easy. Tests usually consists of about 3-5 chapters. I bought a book and used it a couple times, but the professor's power points are online and have everything you need so I wouldn't suggest buying the book. Every test has a review of all the info you need so the tests are very straightforward and consist mostly of multiple choice questions. I also used Quizlet which I found helpful and have all the flash cards needed for every chapter and covers 95% of test material so if you take this class and would like to use my online flash cards you can contact me via text 512-903-4681. Also on every test day we had to turn in 1 page journals about each chapter and how we can relate to them which I found to be very easy and never received less than a 100. I took this class as an elective because I always wanted to learn psychology after a friend telling me about it. If you are looking for an easy A this is definitely the class for you, but if you're truly interested in making a deep connection I feel this class only offers mostly factual information where I have seen others with professor who made the material a lot more fun and relatable. Either way it was a informative and easy class to start college and would suggest this professor if you're taking this psychology.

This class is not very hard at all. Simply read the textbook chapters, pay attention, and study for the tests - you should be golden. Briones shares many personal stories and it really helps make the class more intriguing and relatable.

Best professor I've ever had. Very caring, clear grading criteria and review gives everything that will be on the test. Highly recommend taking this course. Only used the book twice for more insight. Show up to class and turn everything in and you will make an A.

study for the tests using her review guides, don't skip class, do the assignments on time, and you will get an A. she's challenging enough to be interesting but not enough to be TOO difficult, which i appreciate. kind of slow on grading, but she teaches a lot of classes so be patient w/ her. you have to give a speech at the end so be aware of that

This class is an easy A. You still need to study to do well, but the material is mostly simple and easy to grasp. She has very clear grading criteria and is overall an easy grader. She's super nice and she keeps her lectures interesting.

Prof. Briones' course was enjoyable and easy to follow. There's a multiple choice quiz due every Friday, four short response papers scattered throughout the semester, and a book review at the end of the course. Do the readings, take the quizzes, do the assignments. Very easy to get an A if you just do the work. Definitely recommend her course!

I found Professor Briones to be a very warm and supportive professor! Her lectures and grading requirements were always super clear and direct, and her homework assignments were challenging without being, like, brutally hard for no reason.

Professor Melissa Briones Psychology, Was an Impeccable, Outstanding Professor I really enjoy being in her Introduction to Psychology class. I learn so much about Mental Illness and how to recognize it when I see it. I loved her writing assignment because for a long time I kept my feeling and my unpleasant experience growing up locked away.

At the beginning of the week, she sends out reminders of what is due at the end of the week. Moreover, when you reach out to her she responds pretty quickly. She stays on track with the schedule and syllabus. One of the best professors I have ever had!

Professor Briones is one of the kindest, approachable and understanding Professors that I have ever had. I also loved her clear grading criteria and that the assignments were all self-reflective. The lectures are ok, its mainly just reading off Power Points that come out of the book. Study and turn in your assignments and its a super easy A!

This class is farly easy and you wont find anything difficult really, just read and watch the videos and study in advance for your test which are only 4 of them and the last assignment is a presentation which is even more easier i recomend this teacher.

Professed Briones was great. Everything that you go over in class will definitely be on blackboard, and if its not, tell her and she will make sure it is. You have 4 2-paged papers due over what the lecture was about/ certain videos and 4 exams. No final comprehensive exam. Also a 5 minute presentation/ book report. Attendance counts as well.

THE BEST TEACH I HAVE EVER HAD. Go to class, pay attention, turn things in on time, and there is no way you wont ace this class. I actually ENJOY going to class.

Prof Briones is a fair grader she gives 4 test with a study guide that allows for focused studying. Reading the textbook is helpful but not necessary as she gives lectures with power points posted on blackboard, for easy reference.

Professor Briones gives weekly updates outlining the tasks her students should undertake, including assignment due dates, which has been very helpful for me. Quizzes are based primarily on the text, but essays were based mostly on supplementary material. Professor Briones responds to emails quickly, and is accommodating. She is a great online prof.

Lovely teacher who cares about her students and how well she's teaching them. Not a hard class if you show up, take notes, and complete assignments on time. Reading the textbook helps, but you can easily get a good grade just by listening to the lecture.

Professor's Briones ultimate goal is for the students to learn the big points in Psychology while they learn and discover about themselves. Learn for quizzes and that will prepare you for tests. Also, start reading the book at the beginning of the sem. That will ease your final weeks. Would take again!

I had Mrs. Briones as my Dual Credit instructor and she was absolutely amazing. The only grades we had were our 4 Unit tests, 11 online quizzes (make sure you do these), 5 papers, and a book presentation. Sounds like a bunch, but was set up so it was extremely easy to complete. She's very laid back and likes to joke in class. Would want her again!!

Shes a really great Professor. You get points for attending and also she gives out a test outline for things to study for that will 100% be on the test. Using the outline helps a lot when taking notes and she cracks jokes in class to make it enjoyable. I highly encourage taking her for psychology its the best psychology class ACC has to offer

Professor Briones is AMAZING! I took her Human Growth & Development class as an accelerated summer course which I knocked out in 6 weeks. Her syllabus was straight forward and her feed back was incredible! I really enjoyed taking her class!

Professor Briones is a very kind and considerate instructor. Even though this was an online summer course, she made it a point to get to know us through an orientation. She made the class interactive through lecture discussions. There were weekly readings, trainings, short essay assignments, and quizzes, but no exams!

Although this was an online course, this ended up being one of my favorite classes. There are no tests, just quizzes, discussions, and two projects. Despite it being online Professor Briones is extremely helpful and communicative. There was never a time I was confused or felt like anything was unclear in her class.

I took this class over the summer and she made the class easy to understand and learn. Gave a clear rubric for every assessment but know she is very picky about how the discussions are written and how you respond to your classmates discussions. No Test! just quizzes, discussion boards and two projects but be prepared to read a lot from the textbook

Discussion posts are 30% of the grade which was extremely subjective. Quizzes 20% with 2 attempts - one hour times and you can't go back to previous questions. If you finish assignments early you'll get a better grade. Show some level of vulnerability in your discussion posts/papers you'll do alright.

I took the 5 week summer course. There were 4 discussion board essays (easy if you read the chapters), the quizzes and assignments for each chapter on mindtap. The Mindtap was costly, but the homework was easy to do. Just do the work, read the chapters, and it's really easy to pass with an A.

I took it online with her. I had no problems with the professor. It was easy.

This is the second psych class I have taken with Professor Briones, she is amazing! Both classes I received an A. You just have to put in a few hours outside of class time to do the work and ask questions if youre not getting it. She is very understanding, especially during this pandemic.

Not a bad course to take at all. Prof. Briones is laid back but you can tell she takes Psychology pretty seriously. She's always open for questions and help, and will give constructive feedback on your discussion writings. As long as you attend lectures, take notes, and engage in the discussions you will succeed.

She was very accomodating throughout this online semester, very understanding and caring. The class was an 8-week so it had a lot of work, which isn't unusual for a class done in half of the time as a regular one. But she was very nice and understanding throughout the whole semester and I really enjoyed having her as my professor.

At first I was worried about taking a class during summer, I knew summer classes are usually fast but taking this class was one of my favorite thing todo during summer. Prof. Briones was the best Professor I've had and I was always engaged by her lectures. There's no finals, only one to two quiz's, a week and four discussion boards a week. Great professor, very good lectures and answers all questions. Discussion posts are worth 5 points and tests are worth 20, you can retake the test as many times as you want within the deadline and if you turn in the post early she will give feedback and allow you to edit it before the deadline. Read the textbook and pay attention in class!

Quizzes each chapter (one a week) with unlimited chances and discussion boards every chapter. Discussion boards cannot be unlimited chances but if you turn it in early you may edit to improve your grade. Overall feedback was received and straight forward instructions. Attend class and do work on time you will get an A

She's a fantastic professor. The assignment schedule is always given ahead of time and doesn't change. She also grades very quickly. She is a very kind professor and will listen and pay attention to her student questions and ideas.

Great course you're graded on two things, quizzes and discussion boards. You get unlimited try's on the quiz but can not go back to questions once answered. The discussion board grading is a little subjective but she is honest and fair when grading. If you put fourth a little effort when writing the discussion board you will do great.

Overall professor Briones is amazing. We spend one day doing lecture where we go over her presentation PowerPoint and then the other day having a class discussion. Work is very easy and not very stressful at all.

A fascinating class taught by a fantastic individual! Her lectures were interesting and there was a group discussion every other class, which was very fun to partake in. Our grades came solely from our participation in discussions and weekly twenty-question quizzes. This structure made Professor Briones' class easy to stay on top of!

I took her for Psychology and Life span growth and development. I enjoyed her lectures and her test were very straight forward. As long as you participated in discussion boards and took your test it's extremely hard to walk out of these classes with anything lower than an A.

Professor Briones has everything planned from the start of the semester. Keep up with the weekly quizzes and an A is achievable. There were no tests, no projects, no papers. A weekly discussion was held. Attendance is her only strict rule: plan on attending. That said Professor Briones is understanding. Recommend if you are interested in Psych.

I had her as a professor for Intro to Psychology. She communicates clearly, has no problem answering questions, and demonstrates a caring attitude for her students. She doesn't give many assignments besides weekly quizzes, which aren't difficult. I would definitely recommend her to anyone doing an online course, and I would take her class again.

From the beginning, Prof. Briones was very comfortable with us. She gives us all the resources we need, including PowerPoints and in class activities. She goes through the PowerPoints and explains them very well, as well gives real life examples. The weekly quizzes are very easy to take and understand, I would 100% take this class again.

Although there were many lectures, it was delightful. The class felt like a conversation rather than a lecture which is RARE to come by! I highly recommend taking her class but do be prepared for weekly assignments, and don't stress too much, as long as you go to class you will be okay!!

This class was so easy, there is one assignment and one quiz a week and she is very nice. Only issue I ran into was I turned an assignment in via email the day it was due (like she told me to) because I missed class from traffic and she never agnkowlaged it. I turned it in the next class period because I got no response and was given a late grade.

I took the 2301 course this semester and I have to say this professor did an amazing job from the start of the course until the end. She is straight to the point and every lesson kept the students engaged. I feel this is a course everyone should take and as long as you have good attendance and do you work everything is easy.

As long as you show up to the classes and take the weekly quizzes (which can be taken repeatedly), this class is an easy A. Professor Briones is very caring and knowledgeable, and her lectures are very well put together and entertaining. Classes are engaging, but she doesn't put you on the spot.

Professor Briones made my class for psychology a great experience and fun to learn about what psychology means and what it stands for. Her class is overall easy and enjoyable if you do your work and weekly quizzes which can be taken infinitely. The lectures are well organized and engaging if you need help understanding.

Class was easy to understand, and the lectures were interesting. Not a lot of homework and doesn't have tests which makes the class much less stressful. Overall, a great experience with a caring professor.

There is one discussion and one multiple-choice quiz each week that counts toward your grade as well as attendance and participation during discussions. Professor Briones is understanding and the material of the class is interesting. In my opinion, the class is overall an easy A.

Professor Briones is very understanding and open to peoples opinions. Grades in the class are made of weekly chapter quizzes and class discussions. The quizzes are nice because you can retake them till you get a perfect grade. The class discussions are also laid back and if you participate in class and turn in the assignments, you will do good.

Overall Professor Briones is an amazing teacher! She cares about her students and she teaches us students very clearly, always making sure that we understand the material. She is always willing to help us. I would definitely recommend Professor Briones!

Professor Briones was very helpful in explaining the topics and always gave good feedback, the classes were easy to understand and she would always be available for help.

Great teacher, she's chill and very nice. The textbook is free and easily accessible. She gives online lectures for you to listen to if that's your preference. There's a weekly quiz and discussion, but you're given unlimited takes, so you'll do fine. Just be there and don't miss out on the work, and you'll pass this class.

This professor is a very understanding and great professor. I like that her teaching style is relatable and often funny. It's really easy since it's one quiz a week and you can take it as many times as you want to get the grade you want.

Easiest class ever. Overall I had her in person and in the beginning of the week she had a lecture and then the second time you see her she had a paper assignment with max 5 questions. You discuss it and get to leave. It's hard to fail this unless you literally don't show up. attendance matters but she gives to 1 free pass which helped.

10/10 class and professor. Professor Briones gives clear expectations and directions, but is easy going. Class lectures are actually interesting and I really enjoy the class discussion. The reading is kind of a lot, but if you stay on top on it it's not too much! Definitely recommend taking her course.

Excellent Instructor

It's very easy to get an A+ in this course and the professor is very clear about assignments and what you need to do in order to succeed. Think clearly during discussion papers and don't fall too behind on quizzes.

Professor Briones is a great instructor overall, and I strongly recommend taking this course. She is very organized and makes sure to send out a schedule every week with what assignments we are going to complete this week and when they are due. She is also very understanding as long as you communicate with her beforehand.

Best class I have ever taken! I recommend you to take her course you won't regret it! Gives paper every 2nd class of the week, but not difficult, some are opinion-based! Quizzes every week for each chapter but lectures are super helpful!!

Mrs. Briones made the guidelines from the course very clear and didn't make the course test or project-heavy. As long as you take notes during the lectures, do a bit of the reading, take your quizzes on time, and work hard on the group project, you'll do well.

Professor Briones, has really good lectures that really help you develop an understanding of the concepts of psychology. Her grading rubrics are clear and easy to follow and most importantly her course work is not heavy work.

She is very laid back, as she only gave us 2 assignments per week, as well as a big project. Easy Workload, and not much you need to worry about in this course. 10/10 definitely recommend to others.

Her teaching style is very understandable with an even split between lecture days and discussion days. Her quizzes are easy and she gives all information.

There were 2 assignments due weekly, and the discussion portion was done and usually turned in at the end of class. And a quiz due every Sunday night by midnight. Honestly minimal and easy workload. I personally really enjoyed learning new things in her class.

Took intro to psychology, likely the easiest class I have ever taken. She's super chill, and the assignments are easy. Just quizzes, in-class discussion, and a single group project. Don't forget about the quizzes like I did, and you'll get an easy A. Teaches from the textbook, but reading it yourself isn't really needed to pass. Awesome professor.

Professor Briones was fantastic this summer. She truly understands that students have responsibilities outside of school and is mindful not to overload us with work. Her lectures are thorough and informative, and the class discussions are engaging without ever feeling intimidating I'd absolutely take another class with her if I get the chance.

This was my very first summer class and I don't regret it! Professor Briones is amazing! She creates a very calm, safe and welcoming environment for her students. most days include power point and paper at the end which is open notes. And quiz at the end of every week sometimes two but all quizzes are open note and you have unlimited attempts to get a 100. all in all great professor and easy A

the best professor for this class, responds to emails promptly. this class is hard to fail, you can very easily pass with a High A. Each week a quiz is due(unlimited attempts) & a class discussion. She understands students have an outside life from school. lecture slides line up perfectly with the quizzes. Ms.Briones is awesome, highly recommended!

You will not regret taking psychology with her! She is very knowledgeable and makes the lectures interesting to listen to. Attendance is mandatory, but not only do you get a couple of freebies, but she is very understanding, so if you have to miss, just talk to her, and she will accommodate! I really enjoyed her class and it was very informative.

Professor Briones was amazing! Taking her class this fall was the best decision I've made, she made the course fairly maintainable and would definitely recommend her class for anyone needing a Psychology credit. There are weekly quizzes, mandatory student assignments due in class, and final paper.

Always looked forward to going to this class. Very engaging lectures and provides a lot of interesting recourses. Work is light and similar to lectures, and often time you will have class time to spare. Ms.Briones is awesome.

The lectures are the key to the quizzes! Read them closely; all the answers are there if you look carefully. You can take them as many times as you'd like, so take advantage of that! This class is so worth it, especially if you don't have a lot of time because of other classes! She's also great at answering questions and loves to talk!

The class itself was a good and easy class. She is such a caring and reasonable person. You will be able to get A if you complete all the quizzes and discussions ( In class) that she gave you once a week. And the attendance is very important in this class!!!

As long as you show up, the class is very easy. Quizzes can be taken as many times as needed, and discussions are not harshly graded as long as you attempt to answer the questions. Attendance is the biggest thing, since the lectures contain all the information you need.

Very gentle, respectful, and vulnerable in her discussions. One day is a lecture, and the other is discussions, written on a worksheet. I appreciated that the students were able to share their knowledge and self-reflect without having to speak out loud. There are weekly quizzes, where you have unlimited attempts for a perfect grade.
