Excellent teacher!!!! Very helpful (I've even heard of students going to her for help in other chem classes!). Quant could have been a very difficult class without her help. Very picky about lab book procedures though (and grades them kinda hard). But be clean and plan out the lab book ahead of class and you'll do fune!!

The most INCREDIBLE professor that I have had EVER. Even though I am not in her class now, I go to her for help for other chemistry courses. She doesn't make difficult material "easy" (doesn't "dumb it down"), she makes it ACCESSIBLE; that is a sign of a great teacher. TAKE HER LAB! If she taught lecture, every student would understand chemistry.

Biochemistry Lab. She's been the most helpful professor I've had at UNF, and she's a great lecturer to boot. Don't expect an easy A. This class has an online quiz every week, 2 blackboard assignments, and 3 papers. You can the blackboard assignments and papers in the first 4 weeks if you want to. Great professor, I'd recommend her for any lab

I had her for an Intro to Chem Lab. She is the BEST professor I had this semester. She is VERY helpful and makes sure everyone understands the material. The way she explains the material is VERY clear. She is also one of the nicest professors I've met. The only reason I passed the lecture portion was because of her lab!

Taking her for cool side of chemistry. Goes over material quickly, but will answer any questions you have. I made a D on the first midterm and an A on the 2nd. Studied same amount for both. Final is cumulative but she allows two pages of notes. She's nice. Take her. I have a low A with the D because of all the labs and web assignments. EASY.

She is awesome. I am currently doing really bad in my lecture class, and she stays late and even opens the door for you to come to her office hours to assist with anything. (she is my lab professor, not lecture) I only wish that she taught lecture because she makes chemistry fun and easy to understand. She is very understanding of student needs.

Bush is by far my favorite professor I've had during my two years at UNF. Obviously, you have to actually try. It's by no means an easy A, but she will help you for hours if you need it. She explains everything in a way everyone can understand. Quizzes at the start of every class and lots of homework, but it's chemistry so duh!

She actually WANTS to be there and teach you. Will willingly sit in her office with you for hours until you understand the topic. She actually cares about your knowledge of the topic, and makes all of the labs crystal clear. If i could take her for every class I would. She is beyond helpful in both lab and lecture. I absolutely love Professor Bush! I have taken her for general chemistry II, quant, and now biochemistry I lab. She really cares about chemistry and the student. She is always available during office hours. A bit of a tough grader on the online quizzes for biochemistry lab, but there is no one else I would have taken for this lab.

There is a pre-lab, post-lab, and data from the previous lab class due every single week. There are also quizzes from the following week's lab. She does a great job explaining the material and really cares for her students. She is always willing to help and really wants everyone to succeed.

I took Professor Bush's class online to finish my Gen-Ed. I don't like chemistry yet I enjoyed her class and learned a lot. She gives a lot of assignments and expects you to do them well, but she grades quickly with feedback and answers her emails. She clearly cares about her students and is very nice. Mrs. Bush is one of my favorite teachers. Since your grade in Quant lab is based on your actual lab results it's hard to say what grade you will make, but she helps you in any way to bring up your grade. She cares about her students very much and I would highly recommend taking her.

Mrs. Bush is okay. Her tests are very difficult and she frequently gives pop quizzes. She is very generous with partial credit and is willing to erase your lowest quiz grade. She would be better for someone who has taken chemistry before.

Professor Bush is the best and awesome teacher for Quant lab. She is willing to help her students understand the concept of each labs and cares for her students. You'll do well in class as long as you watch her videos prior to doing the labs. She gives handouts for each lab, so you're even more prepared for those. GOOD LUCK!!!

She's amazing! She's funny, caring, and helpful both in class and outside of class. There's no reason to not take her if you have Chem 2 lab! Her grading is very forgiving and very clear. She drops one lab report and provided a small amount of extra credit at the end that won't necessarily bump you up a letter, but can help a little. Love her!

Bush is organized, and a great professor. She also memorizes names of many of her students in our 100+ person lecture, and that's the first time I've seen a professor even bother. She even hand-grades her multiple choice exams so that if you get the answer choice wrong, you still get credit for your work. I wish I could give her 6 stars.

Professor Bush is an amazing teacher I did awful in Chem 1 and was terrified for Chem 2 but she's great, she really cares for her students, her exams are challenging but not impossible she has free response with multiple choice and tries to give as much credit as she can. Take her!

Professor Bush is AMAZING!! She really cares for her students and wants you to pass. She gives great lectures and gives so many problems in class to work on. The homework is extremely easy and a great way to get extra credit. You do have to study for the exams, they can be a little challenging. Study and do plenty of practice problems. TAKE HER!!

Professor Bush is amazing. I had her this past Spring for Chem 2 lab and she taught me better than my actual Chem teacher. Her lab were very easy and she wasn't a super hard grader. She made the transition to remote learning very easy and uploaded videos reviewing the lab each week just like we were in class. I didn't like the simulated labs though

Professor Bush was great for Gen Chem 1 Lab. You will have to do some reading before class for the pre-lab quizzes, but she makes it very clear what you need to know. She was great for hybrid learning during Covid and would always respond quickly to emails. She is always open to questions and makes it very easy for students to do well in her class.

Had her for CHM2045L and for CHM2046L. She is great at responding to emails in a quick manner, especially when I was confused about certain parts of the labs. She is also accessible in office hours for lab help. There was no final exam in this class, which helped out a lot during finals week. There were 13 experiments we had to do in CHM2046L.

One of the most caring professors I know. Class structure: 13 labs with one pre-quiz each lab, then the actual lab, and then a post-lab. Her lectures are where she really shines. She will take time to make sure you understand and even go over topics she already stated so that you are 100% on the same page. Chemistry is chemistry, though.

Dr. Bush was the best lab professor I have had yet. She lectured the material prior to the lab to solidify the material while some lab profs believe you know the info already. She was super connected with the students and assisted with the labs whenever she could. She also was super quick to respond to emails. Take her lab class, you won't regret

Professor Bush required us to keep a detailed lab notebook for all experiments, which was time consuming, but ultimately prepares you for life in the lab outside of class. Be careful to complete experiments with accuracy and precision though as your grade in the class reflects the results that you yield in lab.

If you're like me and you are considering the night lab but thinking "oh, but I really don't want to be here that late..." JUST DO IT. Bush is amazing, she explains everything well, provides tons of info on canvas, she communicates well, is willing to explain anything several times, doesn't give you a hard time. Do yourself a favor, take her class!

General Chemistry II is a really difficult class/lab, but Professor Bush makes it extremely manageable. While she may not pass you with flying colors, the way she instructs is extremely helpful and diligent. Professor Bush is also super kind, she will not take off an absurd amount of points from your chem lab data like you would expect.

Bush is one of the best lab professors I have had. She clearly explains what is required, and will always respond to emails very quickly and even at late hours. She is my go to professor for anything chemistry related even not related to her class. Prepare for long pre lab lectures, and lots of work for lab reports though. But its worth taking her.

Dr. Bush was phenomenal and made chem do-able for me. She gave hand written feedback on every piece of work we did, emailed back quickly with help when needed, and was so personable and loving throughout the year. Speaking most for myself and probably the rest of my classmates, Dr. Bush makes you feel important to her on a personal level.

Professor Bush was SO awesome! She is very knowledgeable and grades very fairly. She truly wants you to succeed and makes chemistry fun. She even allowed us to use notes on pre-lab quizzes. I would recommend her any day, very passable class with her.

Bush was very knowledgeable about the labs. She lectures for about an hour about the lab and is better at explaining it then my lecture professor. She goes over step by step on how to do the lab and makes the labs very clear. Overall great professor!

Such a kind teacher, loved to answer questions, she would be very concise and helpful during labs and she would even take the time to help you with any questions about your lecture class as well! 10/10 teacher really. Take her if youre on the fence its 100% worth it!

Weekly quizzes in class, very nice, teaches better than the lecture professors. Lectures can be long and intense. Sit toward the front to see the board. Office Hours help alot she is always willing to answer any questions no matter how simple they are.

TAKE HER CLASS! Prof Bush is seriously one of the best profs at UNF. She's super friendly and gives off mom vibes (in the best way)! She gives a prelab quiz every class, followed by a 1hr lecture. Postlab work is not usually difficult, just time-consuming. If you need any help, her office hours are a great resource. Bush is the best!

Dr. Bush is a great individual, and I highly recommend taking with her any courses during the fall and spring. But not during the summer because the course is so much info over 6 weeks which make it hard to learn the info. Theres 2 hw weekly and a weekly exam. Exams are hard, so study wisely. Exams are online and open book so take good notes.

Mrs. Bush will be the best lab teacher you will ever have. She is so always willing to help and SOSOO knowledgeable about chemistry. I have had her for 4 classes now and I am very sad to not have her anymore. She gives a spiel in the beginning of lab and is there to help along the way. She's an angel. I love Mrs. Bush

summer course. 6 exams/ 1 per week for the 6 week course .about 2 hws weekly. drops only 1 lowest in each category attendance, hw, and exams. responds fast to emails. Grades fairly. Highly recommend to take course in a longer semester to retain information better. so much info, in little time. Great professor would take again.

Bush was a good professor but the test were really hard. The homework didnt match up with the lectures at all but the tests did. You dont really get a lot of practice though. All online homework and tests with no honor lock. The lectures are all recorded and she takes attendance just at the end. It was supposed to be hybrid but was all online only.

No lab partners; single submission. You can talk to everyone and her for help or clarification. Grading is based on accuracy and precision for the lab itself, but you also have research summaries + a participation grade that goes in. Always open for office hours and extra lab time is flexible. By far, it's the best lab professor you could take!!

GREAT PROFESSOR. So so sweet and wants us to enjoy chemistry. Take online and all you have to do is go to the zooms where she gives you answers to in class questions and most tests are on chegg, no honor lock. She is very knowledgable and willing to help at all hours. TAKE BUSH FOR CHEM 2. Homework is an online platform with answers found online.

Melissa was amazing! She had 7 exams over 8 weeks which sounds like a lot but wasn't bad at all. The exams were on canvas and not honorlocked. Her lectures were easy to follow and the homework wasn't bad. Highly recommend for chem 2!

I've had Bush for three labs now and can confidently say she is the best lab professor at UNF. She genuinely cares about each of her students, is always approachable and and ready to help or explain. From finding extra equipment to explaining the chemistry of the days experiment to demonstrating perfect titration technique Melissa is the best!

Prof. Bush is an amazing chem lab instructor. She's super helpful and friendly - almost like a mom! The class is a lot of work, but using unstuck study and the free textbook really helps. Definitely take her class if you can!

Professor Bush is an amazing professor she is a tough grader, but she is very reasonable about the way she does it and she clearly marks out any mistakes you made on a lab and will help you improve upon them. Almost every lab you have a quiz, the quizzes dont really matter as long as you do the pre lab and lab youll be fine, overall best lab prof.

Professor Bush is a great lab professor! She gives in-depth feedback on assignments, and teaches really informative lectures that stick with you. She clearly cares about her students and makes an effort to make chemistry interesting. There's a reason her rating is so high on here.

I was scared that I wasn't going to pass because I suck at chemistry, but she helped me a lot when we had to complete the data tables for our lab assignments. She answered emails right away (even at midnight), and she is very caring! I never felt scared to ask her question, which is the reason why I'm passing as of now. You won't regret taking her!

Professor Bush is extremely caring! Her lectures are clear and connect well to the material. Expect pre-lab quizzes almost every class in the first 10 minutes. Labs usually end early. Grading is straightforward and fair. Highly recommend!

Professor Bush is super approachable and caring. She takes a bit of time to lecture which can be helpful, but most notably walks you through the lab beforehand which makes things MUCH easier. Her grading may seem harsh, but even if your paper has a lot of marks on it, it typically is still a good grade.

Amazing professor, chem is just hard. She gives so many resources to students and is super helpful and kind. I had zoom class and she did an opener activity every class, lots of grade buffers, and went through exams with me in office hours (awarding partial credit on missed points). Would def take her again.

She's great. Gave a powerpoint lecture before each lab and after that she wrote on the board all the steps of each lab as well as the equations too. So this made the labs straight forward for me, for the most part. If you are confused or something, ask her to help, because she will help you.

She is amazing! She made a difficult class like Chemistry 2 seem easy. She was great at explaining topics, and you could tell she was really knowledgeable and passionate about chemistry. She was always more than happy to reexplain a topic or approach it in another way. Her exams were easy as long as you paid attention in lecture.

Professor Bush is by far one of the best professor's I've had the privilege of learning from, she's respectable, caring, always has a smile on her face and very motivated to help students. She does expect a lot of you from the lab reports, but they are incredibly fair. I'm enjoying the lab so far, and I very much enjoy her as a person. 11/10

Professor Bush provides clear lab procedure instructions and explains exactly how to perform all the data analysis. You do have to write 2 manuscripts, and she grades them pretty harshly; however, she tells you exactly what you need to add/change, and you can resubmit them within a week of your first submission.
