shes nice..good professor
She's nice, easy going, understanding. Just do what you have to do and you will do fine in the class. If this is what your interested in doing you will do fine in her class. She doesn't ask much. Just do your job and you'll get a good grade.
Wonderful is the description for a professor as her. she goes the extra mile in order to facilitate you whenever you need her assistance no matter what it is she always finds a solution. If she realizes that you are experiencing difficulties she will make to effort and find the time a method for you
she is sweet and nice. no homework or tests. just do a decent speech and you get a good grade. attendence is real important. i got an A .
This professor is really nice. you can get an A eassily if you take her. you really don't have to kill yourself doing homework
She has a horrible teaching style. You always have to guess or force out of her what she wants in projects. She seems to think that if you made it to ENG. 122 you don't need to learn anymore about English. If your taking a computer assisted class, don't expect to use the computer to write. She only has you do basic English online quizzes.
This professor is really the professor to take. she's cool with grading because as long as you put effort, she understands you have tried your best. she is also very easy to socialize with and funny. she made english fun and that's what a professor should do. sign up for her class and you won't be sorry.
She's a fun teacher to have. She is nice, and will give you a good grade if you try your best. She's pretty funny too and cracks jokes. take her class.
A really great teacher. For Journalism: Be prepared to dish out a story a week. I recommend only taking this class if you are really interested in journalism, it is more than just an intro class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you need to stay up to date on what the class is doing. Edwards is really nice, really laid back, and pretty funny too.
Very nice teacher, she makes an effort to make class fun and interesting. Gave me a good deal of latitude in my writing assignments. Grading reflected effort and ability so if your not the best student you can still do well if you try.
Good professor. Very helpful and clear, gave allot of interesting assignments. There were allot of papers to write in her class but she gives high grades if you put effort into your work.
one of the best, communication is key
Great professor. Very helpful. There were a lot of papers to write but they were all fun to do. She gives high grades if you put effort into your work.
Mine is an online course,u'll enjoy it .......
Prof. Edwards is great. I have her for ENG 121 online. The assignments aren't that hard, and she helps you with whatever you could need. She's is very prompt with grading, and is very generous. I would take her over and over again.
Took the internet class and it was fairly easy. Do the work and if you know how to write a research paper your money. If your not sure how to do a proper research you can get by with help from the textbook, but your grade may suffer.
Pretty good professor, excellent if you're interested in journalism. She's pretty lenient with assignments and ALWAYS open if you need help with anything. I highly recommend her even for just an english course in general.
Professor Edwards is great! I just completed her online Journalism course and it was very good. I got off to a rocky start but I finished with an A and I am very happy. Professor Edwards is another MCC professor who is very knowledgable and really moves the assignments along very well. The work is challenging and you have to put effort in to it.
Great teacher. Always trying to help. Great if you're into journalism.
Great professor! I took the Internet course; very intense and you have to pay attantion to DEADLINESS but it's not that hard. She leads you to write a perfect research paper (sometimes her answers comes too late though). However, I would take her again!
Very kind professor. Eager to get you published and has good advice about journalism industry and jobs. You can get your stories in the school paper if you pay attn. to deadlines, which are all online. If you're not self-motivated, this class will be a challenge. Looking forward to more courses with her in the future.
Took ENG122 online. She never answers your questions, email or Message Board, no chat, even though she posted thread "Questions for Professor", and this is internet class! DEADLINES! She will never take anything after deadline. Her deadlines are made to confuse you, ie. Jan 15, 12AM, which is really Jan 14. It's not a big deal to change it.
Took English 122 internet course in winter session. Barely responds to the Student Question board. All work needs to be submitted on time and the due date for assignments is at 12am so watch your dates and be organized! Do your work and you will be fine. Would recommend this teacher. Just be on top of your game. Easy.
she is amazing. one of the best teacher's i've ever had. i'm a journalism major and she really helps you with understanding everything you need to know about it and wants to see you move forward.
Very easy! Took the online course. Work had to be submitted in time and it took awhile before receiving a grade. However, the grade was always generous and she left little notes on how well you did or tips on how to improve. Would definitely recommend.
I've taken ENG 205, 206, 231, and interned with Quo Vadis for ENG 214. I cannot think of another professor so eager to see her students do well. She absolutely HATES excuses, which teaches RESPONSIBILITY for one's actions. Definitely take all her classes if you want a future in journalism; she prepares you for the classroom as well as real life.
Took her class online over summer, literally finished ALL assignments in like, a week.. including the final and the research paper! Then again, english is my thing.. but anyway lol.. made my life soo much easier! Would definitely recommend!!
took her online and well it was a pain. she takes forever to answer emails and post grades but when she does it's helpful. i mean there's not much else. just hand in your stuff on time
I took her online class,a bit frustrating because there is little feedback. Alot of writing so be prepared. She is probably a better teacher in person than online. Grading is fair. Not the worst, just be prepared to work.
Took the online class. Found it to be relatively easy but I do not typically struggle with English. I did not like that you do not receive your papers back to see what you did incorrectly. Especially, since she does NOT respond to your emails.
Took over the summer online and it was the easiest online class. Couple of writiing asignments and 1 research paper. Hand in your research paper a month in advance and get a whole letter grade higher.
I took the online course, and she doesn't respond to emails at all. She doesn't answer questions, and the assignments are incredibly vague and hard to understand. Be prepared for a lot of writing and little understanding.
You'll learn absolutely nothing in her online class. She's nice and understanding if you meet her in person, but takes forever to respond to e-mails. Nothing is taught, and you're really just assigned some bookwork and really easy essays. If you want an easy A without learning a single thing, take this professor. Besides, it's no different than 121
really disliked this class. no interest in doing my best, although i did surprisingly well. i would not take it again although it was easy. really boring and no desire to attend. you do get to skip thursdays though so thats kind of cool
Took this class online. Ridiculously easy class. I posted average responses and got As on everything. The only thing I got a B+ on was the midterm. The final is just your own words on how to create a good research paper. Didn't have to try hard at all but it annoyed me when I would ask for feedback and she would ignore me.
Took her online class this summer. She graded everything quickly and provided feedback. There were only 3 short essays and one research paper. If you put effort in you should get at least a B. I found that she responded to me quickly, one of the best online professors I've had.
supper easy to take. we do absolutely no work and just talk the whole class. All assignments that she asks of you is in the syllabus and you have to hand it in through campus cruiser. She has little assignments and then one research paper. only reason to attend class is to have her help with your research paper which is due at the end of semester
horrible! it was easy but she would make you fail, even in online class.
Prof. Edwards is an amazing teacher. She doesn't like excuses and she expects you to act like a college student. She's understanding, and very approachable. She sat down and talked to me for a full hour during Lab time. Just do what she asks and you'll get an A.
Took the online course. From my experience, lame teacher. Totally unhelpful. Takes forever to respond to emails and when she does, SHE DOESN'T EVEN ANSWER THE QUESTION. Class is easy though. Just do the work and submit before hand.
Worst professor to take i never do this but i hope none ever takes this teacher. She isn't helpful at all never responds tip after the due date. She let us redo a paper if we didn't do so great but by the time we received our grade the course was over and wasn't able to redo it..NEVER TAKE HER!!!
I took Eng 205 and 206, joined Quo Vadis and most of the assignments were specifically done for the sole purpose of the paper. It was a pretty fun course, I would recommend.
Her instructions can be vague, but email her for clarification and she'll respond. Do not miss any assignments. She takes off for red-tape guidelines, such as the Introduction not being the correct length (mine was too long) or not putting the author's name in the summary, but as long as you can write coherently, you will pass. I liked the course.
The class was pretty easy. I liked that she submitted feedback to all assignments so you know what you needed to work on to receive a better grade. The only complaint was the syllabus and assignment instructions were not always clear; however, she answered her emails quickly and rectified any issue(s) that the class had. I would take her again!
I'm taking her now, and she's a cool teacher, and she lays out all the assignments, and her deadlines aren't strict. and in class, she tells you what she expects of the certain assignments. I would deff take her again. the books you barely use, waste of money.
I took her for both ENG 121 & 122, both online. I would definitely recommend Prof. Edwards to anyone. Her classes were easy, instructions straightforward, & she submitted feedback to any assignment that didn't receive an A so you knew what to improve on. Just do the work and you will pass!
First of all, I got a B- for my English 010 class so I was really nervous about taking English. After a lot of hard work and help from her emails. I received an A in this class. I will be taking her again for 122 as in the spring.
Took as winter course. Syllabus assignments were different from the actual assignments. Very vague and short instructions, but she's an easy grader. Easy assignments, though you have to type a lot. Got an A on everything. Just be on top of things, and email her with questions days ahead of time.
Whole class is one research paper that she splits into a large number of assignments. The first assignment is to select your topic, good enough. The second is to write your thesis, so she expects you to write your thesis before you even did any research. This is a terrible way to write a paper and the paper is the whole class.
This teacher is serious. She teaches only journalism and online. If you are not ready to do any work, you will not like her. You need to take responsibility for your work and be willing to be a college student. For journalism, she is patient, hardworking and dedicated.
This teacher is great for 121 and 122. I had her for both classes. If you want an essay class, don't take her. If you are a serious student, take her. She does answer your emails and if you mess up, you get another class.
This teacher will try to keep you engaged. Come to class if you have her face-to-face. She teaches online and face-to-face. She is kind and understanding if you have problems.
This is the new journalism class at MCC and it is good. I am excited about it. I have it right now and I am really enjoying this class. She is totally trying to motivate us on a daily basis. If you want to learn something about journalism and you are in a county college, you need to take this professor.
This is the first semester of this class and it is impressive. This teacher knows her stuff.
took prof Edwards for both Eng 121 &122 (online) 1 course during the winter n the other the following semester n honestly really liked it,gave assignments in the beginning of course n finished them fairly quckly, caring, gives good feedback but not so great with email replies fair grader easyA if put in the effort would def. take again
This teacher goes above and beyond to teach her classes at MCC. I have never met a teacher more hardworking that this professor.
Taking ENG-122 online. She does not respond to any emails. & the one time she did, she told me that it's not her job to help me. (what?) She is lazy and clearly not a good teacher. Be prepared for a LOT of writing. The class itself isn't too hard, it's 8 assignments for one research paper and a few other essays. Just be prepared to teach yourself.
I have this class online. I am not use to online classes, but this is fairly straightforward if you don't overthink things. She will answer emails, but don't ask for favors. Do you work and you will pass. Get your work in on time.
Gives no detail for assignments. Doesn't answer emails at all. Entire class is one paper broken into parts. Would be fine if she gave any direction, her intentions are not clear. Wait weeks for grades and then no feedback, just letter grades. Can you learn to write from that? At least not a tough grade; I don't know how this prepares for 122 though.
I had this class online and although I received an A, her class is frustrating. Most of her assignment instructions are one sentence. If she responds to an email, it is usually not a very helpful response. If you are already a decent writer, the class is easy. However, if you need help do not take her class. Also, she does not grade fast at all.
This is THE journalism teacher. Take her and you will not regret it. I promise!
This teacher is good with instructions. They are simple and straightforward. Take her class!
By far thee WORST professor I've had. Assignments are not detailed, doesn't grade assignments until the end of the semester, THEN tries to give feedback after the semester is basically over which affects your overall grade, difficult to get a hold of, barely answers emails. If she does respond to your email, make sure to keep proof of ALL discussio
I think this professor thinks her students are mind readers. She gives little direction then takes increments of 11 points off and takes off whole letter grades for the smallest details. Keep track of assignments, emails, and journal responses. You might need it at the end of the semester. If I could give her a 0 rating, I would.
I can honestly say, I have learned nothing in her class. Her class is more frustrating than any other class I've taken at MCC. I don't know how this is suppose to prep us for 122 or any other future English class.
This class is easy. She tells you what to expect and lays everything out for you. If you do what she says you will get an A. She grades on 4 Essays, 14 small research paper, Midterm, Final, and small assignments dealing with the research paper. If you follow her instructions you will do fine. She just doesn't take any BS.
She is a really good teacher. Do all your work before the deadline and you will be fine. Its a lot of work but it can easily get done. Enjoyed the class and would take again. (Andrew)
I took her for eng 122. My first assignment wasnt a good grade... She guides u to success. You have assignments to make up shaky work. Shes def a good one.
I took winter class with this professor, it was my first online class ever. Assignments was clear to understand, all the requirements was written under the assignments. Its important to submit everything on time. She is not a tough grader, so I will be looking forward to take her on my 122 as well.
Took the class online. Prof left up deadlines for past semesters which was confusing. Used no curriculum, only libguide. Offered no advice. Just about impossible to get in contact with. Graded very late, with arbitrary grade criteria. One exam had only one sentence explaining what to do, so was mostly in the dark. Passing is all luck based.
She's the best professor and hoping to take her for ENG 122. Her online set up is amazing because you have enough time in between each assignment, just do the work and you'll get credit. She's caring and not out to see you fail like most professors.
Makes you wait about 2 weeks to get a response back. Wants you to be on time with your homework (which is understandable) but waits 2 weeks to grade one assignment. Completes the glass before you get to see all of your grades for final grades. Makes a mistake putting in you grade but doesnt fix it even if you email her. Terrible!!!!!!
I loved this class! Every assignment and rubric was very clear and concise. Be prepared to work hard and put the time in for the grade you want.
Honestly one of the easiest courses I've had to take, given it was my first semester. The essays were broken down into smaller assignments making the actual writing process extremely easy. She was fairly lenient on grades and I would recommend for anyone looking for an easy A. Just be sure to get the work done.
It is English Comp 1, so of course, there are so many writing assignments, but I wound up having 2-3 things due a week, some short, some lengthy. Decent feedback on grading, responds to emails very quickly. The only complaint would be she is a slow grader--two months to get some grades.
Professor Edwards is a great professor! She is a very kind soul. This course requires a normal amount of attention. She is also very understanding when it comes to grading. Maintaining contact is must for she will be more understanding if an emergency occurs. Do your work, keep her updated, make friends with your classmates, and you will do great.
Professor Edwards gives clear feedback. I think I wrote 3 essays during the fall semester, she gives you plenty of time to finish them. Instructions can be sometimes hard to understand, but you can always email the professor for extra clarity.
This was my first class at Middlesex County College, and Professor Edwards truly made me fall in love with English again. We had many papers, and our course was preparing us to write an 8-page research paper and it definitely prepared me well. I did well in this remote learning class and my favorite part was the podcast we got to create on our own.
She takes her courses seriously. She will not let you out of your work because it is important to get the fundementals, but if you want to be a journalist, you need this. I recommend this professor and this program.
There is no question that a capstone course in journalism is difficult, but this teacher mentors you and helps you. She believes that you will succeed and your time at MC will make that happen! I recommend MC for the journalism program.
This teacher takes you seriously. This is an advanced course for people who want to be writers so you have to come with it! I highly recommend this course. You will not regret it.
This is a class that requires some work, but if you are studying journalism, you cannot do without it. This teacher does give some homework, but she tries to give you plenty of time to get it done. Don't let yourself get behind and it will go well for you.
I have taken professor Edwards during COVID-19. It is hard overall, but she is available and fair. There are not too many assignments, and they lead up to the research paper, which is important. I would take her again.
She is good at writing comments and responses to your papers. She is also always willing to meet with you!
She is fair.
She was honestly my favorite professor. Yes, she gives a lot of work; however, it's all easy as long as you stay on top of it. Being a student of her gets you automatically on the school paper which is amazing. In my first two weeks there by doing the homework I was a staff writer. Definitely get the physical AP Stylebook, you'll use it a lot.
I had professor Edwards this past winter. All of the coursework was clearly defined and organized. If you are a good writer, you could definitely do well.
An awesome teacher, loved her teaching style, gives good feedback, will reply to emails, overall I would take her class again.
I was very disappointed with this class. This professor never actually taught us- there are no lectures or textbooks! You're just given weekly assignments with little to no instruction and have to hope for the best. If you're already good at writing, you can easily pass. If you need more instruction and want to learn, take someone else for sure.
This professor doesn't care about the students. I feel as if she doesn't care if you fail. She is rude and shouldn't be teaching. I felt as if she hate her job. No help.....teach yourself attitude. I would not recommend.
This professor hardly explained how to do any assignments. That is until after she graded it and criticizing what you did wrong. Honestly, it didn't even feel like there was a teacher when I was taking this course. She was a pretty slow grader as well, and very disengaged from the class. Not very friendly or easily accessible.
She never really explained any assignments you hand stuff in and pray for the best. EXTREMELY SLOW GRADER it will take her weeks to grade stuff and by then it will be too late to do anything about your grade. Her assignments, however, are easy in theory she isn't consistent with grading and she doesn't reply to emails.
Her grading criteria is unclear, not accessible at all , never responds to emails etc. Her assignments are easy, she never explains them just assume they are in MLA and need citations. I had her for ENG 121, same exact assigments for 122 she just grades tougher there. So fi you want consistency and rely on past assignments take her for both.
It was not easy, but she was fair.
1)Late feedback which doesnt help your grades 2)Little to no guidance, gives great feedback if given 3) Gives similar assignments 4)Do not grade every assignments, still have ungraded assignments after the course is over. 5)Says give extra credit, I havent got any.
Despite her having a doctorate in English she is very unprofessional. When you're in need of help she takes forever to answer emails and is very unclear about what she expects on her assignments. I did the extra credit and she never graded it! The extra credit would have brought me to an A-. 1/10 wouldn't recommend.
AWFUL at staying on top of grading. The midterm from March was not graded until the day before the end of the semester, as well as tons of other assignments from March/Feb. Gives 0s for assignments that were never mentioned. You have no idea where you stand because she doesn't grade anything until weeks/months after submission.
Professor Edwards didn't give me clear feedback about my assessment but judged me very poorly and harshly. I am still trying to understand why. I feel humiliated and disgusted. I do not recommend this professor, and I have to drop the class and take the same subject again, but with a different teacher. Unfortunately, I lost my time and money.
Good luck to anyone taking this class. She's insanely rude and doesn't care about the well-being of her students. She doesn't grade any assignments until the last week of the semester.
This professor is very unclear with her instructions and expectations of this class. When she says one thing, she contradicts herself. She doesn't take her students into consideration. If you take this class, you will be in distress and frustrated especially if you have more classes on your shoulders.
-responds to emails 2 days later -very unclear with initial instructions -spaces out assignments to make building your paper less all at once -not very considerate of spacing out midterm assignments and research paper assignments -SUPER ez just listen to her feedback and follow it Overall I would definitely take her again for winter
We were taught nothing. The class was 4 or 5 wks long & there were several assignments leading up to the final research paper essay. She taught nothing and still expected a lot. I submitted my work a day late and she gave me a zero instead of a grade I deserved minus the late penalty. She turned my A into a C and dropped my GPA. Worst teacher ever.
no lecture or feedback from the professor
If I could go back and not choose this class I would. She grades extremely strictly and gives unclear directions on what she wants from assignments. I received a 0 on the assignment for submitting it a day late and was messaged that to receive credit for late assignments I needed a doctor's note which is not mentioned anywhere in the syllabus.
She accepted a day late work throughout the winter semester by subtracting 5 points then all of a sudden flipped and straight up refused to accept the final essay that was a day late. I worked so hard when most were enjoying their winter break and she took away my A and turned it into a C, then showed attitude when I asked about it.
This course was pretty light. The professor was nice but late work is a no-no without a doctor's note. When you submit quality work you get a good grade so the other reviews were probably thinking this would be an easy English course, but this is a higher-level writing course so I understand why she graded the way she did. I would take her again.
If you want to get a good grade submit everything on time. She does not care if there is no note, does not matter even if somethings going on in your personal life. Make sure you submit the assignments in full because if your missing something even just one small thing its an automatic D.
Do not remember which course I had with her but I will say she cares more about her journalism courses than her english courses and she emphasizes how she has tenure and it definitely shows! Turning everything in on time is important & she stresses it from the very first day. Definitely TALK to her as much as possible, otherwise you might struggle
Professor Edwards doesn't sugarcoat things, but her feedback is valuable. The workload is manageable, and unstuck study proved to be a helpful study tool alongside the materials. Overall, it's a solid class if you're willing to put in the effort.
Looking back at it, this was the foundation of the college education. If you can't write a paper or research a topic, expecting ChatGPT to do all your work and Grammarly to finish the rest, you are not ready for college. She makes sure you become a writer, as to how good a writer, that's up to you. Respecting the work you put in is self-respect.
