Her first time teaching I believe. Very incompetent. Post her powerpoint late. Review session blow and her TAs suck and were rude. The only interesting about the course is material. I wish someone else were teaching. Have no sample test or question. Her homework has little relevant on the exam
professor is pretty interesting in class but she grades very specifically on the exams. you must memorize her powerpoint slides and DO all review problems. this will probably get you a B in the class.
Terrible teacher. She probably single-handedly want to make me change majors. Her powerpoint lectures are ALWAYS late. TA's just solve problems (there is no "review" of what is happening in the class). The book is boring. I seriously wonder how she got into teaching because she quite frankly sucks
test are too long, and questions come from left field
Totally confusing. She's constantly messing up. I know she's doing her best, but she gets flustered really easily and it doesn't help the class.
she is enthusiastic about the course but seems to have trouble with getting her point across.
I haven't heard a single person say they liked her or the class. Kinda butch, super aggressive....she could probably beat up my dad. She's super confusing and unclear in class. Her midterm had wayyyy too many questions on it and she changed one of the questions midway through! Horrible.
138A was OK, but she is all over the place. 100A had to be the most confusing class I have ever taken, and the material is not that toughh. She's a great example of how intelligence and knowledge of the field does not necessarily make a good teacher. Won't even give answers to practice final, WTF?
What a crappy teacher she is....I feel bad for those who fail and have to take her again (she's the only one teaching 100A). I predict the curve for the final (today) will be INSANE...just like the class!!!!!!!!!!!! Famulari spells out F!!!!
confusing subject, even more confusing teacher. her tests are really hard and the online hw is annoying. if you want to do good on the final, start studying week 2.
this class is very very hard. she has long powerpoint presentations that are all economic theory with mathematical notation and absolutely no explanations. she makes the final damn near impossible and gives you no time. she acts as if everyhing is so obvious and tries to cover EVERYTHING. AVOID!!!
WARNING: DO NOT TAKE. First of all, she doesn't teach. She just points at her powerpoint slides and restates what is already seen; no explanations. She used an experimental Aplia online assignment website on us [terrible + $40bucks]. Her tests are long and contain irrelevant problems.
if possible, do not take her. She even admitted that she can't teach very well. She is unclear and expects the class to know what she is teaching from the get go. Her final is worth alot of points so study hard for that.
If you can, AVOID taking her class. just trust me on this.
This teacher sucks!!for real!!!!!!!!
This was a difficult class... Prof Famulari is pretty scatterbrained, so her lectures are pretty disorganized. Anyone who hates aplia should avoid her like the plague. On the plus side, she gives tons of examples, and exams are pretty much straight off of them.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! she is crazy, her lectures are all over the place and she hands out star stickers like in 1st grade. Her Final is extremely hard and worth a ton of points. She is also a test nazi, making you sit a space apart, and making people uncomfortable with her scary stare. AVOID THIS TEACHER AND THIS CLASS IF POSSIBLE.
Warning, this prof like, totally gives tests and stuff. She requires her students to like know the material. My parents didn't pay for me to go to UCSD so I could spend almost 12 hours a week learning material in my chosen major! I'm under so much pressure to graduate someday and this professor isn't helping with her "tests" and stuff.
pretty hard. Dont take it.
OMG.. it was so horrible. This lady should be back doing her administrative job rather than teaching econ. She asked so many craps from us, it is not even funny. DON'T TAKE HER
very unorganized and very picky.
The lecture are directionless and her style is all over the place. The book sucks too, so you have to go to the problem solving sessions to keep up with the class. I would avoid this teacher if you can.
I don;t know what some people were talking about I studied maybe 2 hours before each of the midterms and had not problems getting A's and this isn't even my major maybe since the last reviews she got way way easier. on top of that the class was very intresting.
Worst professor I've ever had. Her lectures are the most scattered and confusing things I've ever been to. She doesn't really use her Online board to answer any questions. What's it there for if she doesn't answer them! The Ta's aren't all that helpful either. The review sessions were so unorganized. DOn't take her. Stay away.
Horrible style of teaching. Quite possibly the most horrible prof to listen to during lectures as they are useless. Worst of all, lectures don't run parallel with the book. On top of that, she doesn't reply to webct questions and requests.
The material was hard, and her lectures were totally unorganized. Horrible teaching style. She assumes students should know everything. Her midterms were impossible. Her final was hard, too. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! Taking this class is like shooting yourself in head. Very Stupid. Since ppl all did bad, one good thing was the class curve.
Famulari's class was very difficult, but I feel like I learned a lot. Her tests really force you to understand the material well, and I feel that some of her lectures go beneath the surface of the material (which is both good and bad, because we learn more but the material gets harder). Overall I wouldn't mind taking her again... hard, learnd alot
Truthfully she is a very hard teacher, but not all bad. The material itself is not impossible, she just makes it harder than it is because she can't teach it right. Class was very hard and her tests were long and arduous. Make sure you know all the material before venturing to take an exam
I don't think she's that bad despite all the negative comments from people who don't study. The material itself is not easy, so you can't blame her for the difficulty. If you go to lecture and do the problem sets, you will do fine. She and her TAs are pretty helpful too, so go to office hours if you have questions.
She's very nice and she really wants her students to do well. But she just can't teach. She's awful. Her lectures are very unorganized and hard to follow. Messy scribbling everywhere with no uniformity. The notation is never consistent nor were her steps to doing each problem. Lectures were very frustrating. I don't reccomend her.
Eventhough she is hard, it's not like she's trying to trick you on the tests --all questions were fair. I think previous reviews might have said she was unclear or going too fast, but by switching to Blackboard lectures (vs. Powerpt), she has made this quarter's pace much more managable and facilitates note taking.
I don't know why everyone thinks this class is hard. Material is basic calculus and she is a good teacher. I havent read the book and got 2 A's on the midterms. I think it's one of the easiest classes I've taken but I am a math major and this class is all math.
She is not all that bad. I was worried because I read all the bad reviews, but honestly, if you go to class and do the problem sets, you're good to go. The material is not that difficult...you just have to practice doing them. Lecture was hard to go to, because the material is...not all that exciting.
I think that it's just the material(the math part) that some may find hard. She's really a great prof. She explains concepts really well and thoroughly. She really knows her stuff and her exams are extremely similar to problem sets. So if you practice those, you're good to go.
her final was 400 points. she is difficult and i think slightly crazy. avoid at all costs.

If you go to class and pay attention to the homework you should get at least a B. Her tests HEAVILY reflect her homework. Also, she is WAY helpful. She is really great at explaining things, encourages students to ask questions in lecture, and there is a weekly homework review! Take her if you can (especially over Machina... Machina = REALLY Hard)
fantastic professor, very good at clarifying difficult material. Moderately difficult test but they are fair.
Most seem not to care for Famulari's enthusiastic behavior, but I believe it represented her true concern for her student's learning. Her handouts are key to understanding everything. Also, problem sessions are the best way to score high on tests because the TAs know what to expect. I can say I did well in the class.
Best econ prof at ucsd
Prof. Famulari's lectures were clear and concise. She always made sure everyone understood the material and was willing to backtrack if you didn't. This class isn't an easy A, but it you work hard you'll do well. Her midterms are straight forward, but make sure you review past midterms as well as the hmwk. Final was hard, but she grades on a curve.
My favorite prof at UCSD. She is clear, actually cares, approachable, and actually likes teaching. I took econ 140 with her, just to have her again.
great professor. very clear. always outlines what shes gonna talk about before class starts so keep a record of that. her tests are straight off of her in class examples. very hard class, but just do the practice problems over and over
She is the best Econ teacher I have had at UCSD. Her lectures are crystal clear and her exams are representative of the lectures and homework. I wish she taught every econ class. By far my best econ teacher at UCSD.
I took this class with famulari last fall or winter quarter (fa06/wi07? forgot...) and i'm so glad i did! i have a hard time with econ classes because i'm not interested but famulari has made it bearable for me! i'm used to getting Cs in econ classes b/c i simply don't understand what's going on in class but that changed with this class! take her!
took econ140 with her after taking 100a with her the year before! i love her teaching style! you can tell she wants you to understand the material because she takes the time to fully go through each topic! i'm currently taking her for 141 and it's been just as awesome as the other two classes! take her if you get the chance!
i think she is the best professor in UCSD econ department, if u attend the class, take her notes, you can get a B or above. Exam is striaght forward, sometimes it may be a little bit hard, but the grade is fair
I dropped this class right after the first midterm! Horribly hard! There was 7+ questions with only 50 mins! Too little time, there was no way I could finish the test!:/ She's a great teacher thou!
Dr. Famulari likes to makes sure you really know the material, so she'll go over topics until you understand. She encourages questions and discussion, but does not appreciate falling asleep in class. She's a tough teacher and her exams are in depth and long, but if you do the problem sets, the questions will look familiar. Thorough teacher.
I absolutely agree! She regraded my test in her favor, so students won't have an incentive to ask her for regrading. Famulari, if you read this, you should know that you are a terrible professor! You're incomprehensible! You make me depressed! I am so happy to drop this class even though it's week 7. she should not be teaching!
OMG, I'm so glad I didn't submit my test for regrading. I was hoping to raise my B to B+ too. Her tests are kinda hard, but it seems like people do pretty well in this class, as the median score was a B- right?
Prof.Famulari is not a friendly, approachable professor but I think she is a very fair professor. She provides many old exams and actual exams are very similar to them. No homework and straightforward questions in her exam. Take this class if you want to get easy A.
pretty easy... if you go to lecture, you don't really need the book!
The raters who got a D and claim she has a southern accent are just a tad bitter. (Her English is completely standard.) She tells you what you need to know for the test. I've never needed to use the book. Go to lecture! Do the problem sets and a few of the previous exams and you're good. But if you get Jenn Chen as a TA, try another section.
Honestly I did better than I thought I would. Both midterms I got a little bit higher than average, maintaining about a B to B+ before the final. I screwed up studying for the final, however, and was hoping to just pass. I ended up getting a B in the class, and was really thankful for that. She does weird things, like the bad grade insurance
She is the best! Lecture is very clear, you will be able to understand the material by studying her lecture notes. Her class isn't boring at all, and she gets her interesting way of letting students to earn extra credits. Great class!
Took Famulari SP09. Very clear and simple teaching style, and manages to keep you somewhat involved. Exam questions are extremely straightforward; just go to class and solve the old exams and you'll do fine (no need to read the book). Would highly recommend.
She's GREAT! She makes the class interact with her and she explains things very thoroughly. Don't miss her lectures. She provides plenty of practice problems... DO THEM ALL~! Tests are similar but she also throws couple to check if you REALLY understood
I loved her as a professor. She explains things in a way that is understandable. She uses the chalkboard to write definitions and draw diagrams that clarifies what she is teaching. I never had to read the textbook because if you go to class you will understand everything fully. Tests are fair.
She's a really good teacher/lecturer. Don't read the book just go to her lectures and take notes. Midterms were ok, not too bad if you studied, but final was pretty hard.
She is so mean, she pretends very nice and seems want to help you, but it is totally not. she gives pretty low partial credit and she tries you to stay in her class after final without any help. She wont help you at all, she has a lot of power cuz she is department chair. Her attitude is doesn't care about student, put extra difficulty on the final
I'm an Electrical Engineer. Econ is a joke compared to all the EE classes I have taken. It's quite sad how people think this is a hard class. What's so hard about taking a derivative and graphing it? Easy A if you know BASIC math.
Not too easy. You have to go classes. But you will be fine if you study well. Midterms and Final were ok.
If you go to class, take good notes, do homework, and know how to do problems it should be an easy A. Quite reasonable curve. (Disclosure: from a computer science major).
She's still working out the kinks for economics of health consumers. She had a whole syllabus laid out for us and we only got through about 1/3 of the material on there by the end of the quarter. But I like how she posts previous exams for practice. Her lectures are a little dry though.
Tests you on things she never taught. Gives you homework on things she never taught.Talks too fast in class. Won't give you answers to practice exams. Was interesting in the beginning of the year, now rushes through topics. Has the crazy hair. Sometimes I get so angry that I want to poo on her.
I have taken this class before...you would be hard pressed to find a teacher better than Dr. Famulari. Don't miss class and you will be very successful!
It seems Professor Famulari hasn't changed. I took her Microeconomic class Spring Semester 1995 at The University of Texas at Austin when she taught there. Her exams did not contain much of what she covered in class and the final was no exception. She is a good lecturer and makes a lot of sense, but she is not student oriented. Avoid her class.
Hard class on a hard subject but she understands this and grades accordingly.
She's one of the best econ professor ive taken in ucsd. Her lecture is very clear and she post all the previous midterms and finals on ted. Her midterm and finals are very representative of her previous exams. So just do them all and MAKE SURE YOU GOT THEM CORRECT and then you will get an A! hw are helpful too, but not as much as the previous test.
Awesome professor. I wouldn't say it is easy to get an A, but it is completely do-able. I went to every lecture and did the old exams as my only studying and I ended each test getting way over the curve cutoff for an A. Honestly, she cares and her lectures are clear. I would definitely recommend her!
Not sure what class others were experiencing -- this is one of the most frustrating teachers/classes I've had to deal with at UCSD. Even with old exams posted to review, our class averaged a little over 50% per exam, which, even though all is curved, shows me most were theoretically failing regardless of study time put in to prep.
She is such a nice professor who really cares about her students. She explains material clearly in class, which means you do not need a textbook. She gives big curves on every exams(maybe b/c she makes them hard ) They are not that hard if you attend lectures and review sessions.
She is not helpful at all, although she tends to have TAs work a lot. She looks nice but not kind from heart. You should try to avoid this professor as much as you could. TAs or econ tutors seem much more helpful.
Genuinely cares about students' learning. She doesn't provide answers to practice midterms and makes you work for them on Piazza, which is a great resource for working with other students and really helps you gain a deep understanding of the material. Lecture style can seem unorganized, but she explains concepts pretty well. Appreciated her class.
Professor Famulari is one of the best professors at UCSD. Provides an outline on her syllabus as to what is covered in class each day and has online videos of her lectures each day. There are weekly homework sets that are not graded but reflective and neccessary of test questions. Not a class you can cram for but if time in budgeted, easy B.
I liked her. She's really cool, and her material is super easy.
Avoid at all costs. She is very disorganized and honestly not helpful at all. Her tests are not representative of the material taught in class.
crazy class and hard. you read you did
If you want to have a painful experience in UCSD, take this class
Famulari is a really nice professor. Econ 100A is hard in itself but Famulari makes it really easy to understand. Gives mathematical reasoning and verbal reasoning for whatever she does. Have to know both. Homework and practice midterms are really very helpful and prepare you for the test!! not a recommended class but recommended professor.
In a class of 100+ students, the curve on the last exam was that 60% was a B. If this does not say something, then try going to class and just listen to her talk. She is a sweet woman and tries to relate to the students, but misspeaks so frequently, the notes are incorrect 75% of the time. Absolutely terrible. Disappointed in UC San Diego.
Difficult tests, decent curve excellent lecturer! Go over her old exams and old finals right before the tests to do well!
One of the best professors I have ever had. Extremely clear and concise in her teaching. Incredibly difficult tests but her curve is very generous to make up for it. Will take her for any class required of me.
Amazing lectures and inspirational! She's always there to help you understand better of the materials. Need to work hard and do her practice exams. Her exams had very similar questions on the actual exams, especially the final.
She is a great professor! Honestly, as long as you show up to class, take good notes, and practice on the problem sets and past midterms, you should be fine! Her curve is very generous and she is very accessible outside of class. She really cares about each students' success. Also, go to section since they go over concepts rather than problem sets.
Wow. A real gem. Honestly. Truly. Love her!
Really cares about her students. Other reviewers on here are being dramatic. She teaches upper division microeconomics at a top rated school, you thought it would be easy? Massive curve, I'm a dummy and I did fine . People leaving negative reviews should ask themselves how hard they really tried and stop blaming her for their lack of understanding
I don't know why her score is so low, her lecture is super clear and understanable. This class is not an easy class which is true but definitely not hard as long as you go to the lecture and listen carefully to what she is talking about. TBH her exams are all about what she has taught you. Just make sure you truly understand the materials ur fine
tough all around. Try to avoid
Its so unfair , this is the most stupid class I have even taken before. The professor make two different versions midterms but only give Circe on one exam, this is so unfair for the students who took another version. Dont take her class, its so ridiculous
Makes an easy class painful. Takes all the useful fun out of Econ. They need to bring in an expert to reorganize this mess. Maybe she made sense last century but shes repeated herself so many times all her words are useless.
She's there to torture you. Her class is unable to petition, unfair and difficult. She's treating her students as mice in order to finish her new paper on how grading affect students' well-being. She could be a nice professor if she focuses on teaching instead of doing her KKI style experiment on us.
Really love Prof. Melissa. She makes his lecture crystal clear! Her Final 2 was a bit hard, but also curve generously! Really love her!!
unclear lecture some too detailed knowledge are tested some awkwardly hard computation useless discussion but quiz and HW are useful
Terrible professor. Only teaches theories in class so when she puts questions on the midterms and finals its a huge pain to solve because she never went over examples in class. Tests are also incredibly hard and the curves are huge in order to curve the class for a "bell shape" standard for the econ department. Don't take her class.
Professor Famulari delivers crystal clear lectures and explicitly tells you how to study and what to do to do great on her class. You have to put in a lot of work to outside of the classroom including homework, pset, and the videos online. If your a slacker and fall back on homework or skip class, you won't do well. use your resources wisely
Fair professor with fair lecture but wonderful video. Test is hard but there is a big curve for it, so you just need to do better than other students.
Best Econ Prof at UCSD. Econ 100A is a hard class so you need to study hard. Make sure to go to her office hours
don't take her, she is very demanding and she is not giving any partial credits on midterm. If you miss one number, she will take off all of the points, which means you get 0 for the whole questions. Take care!
Take care!
No podcasts. No MC questions, all free-response exams. Random attendance check-ins for credit. Will separate the class in groups; Group A has too watch online videos for credit and Group B does not. Homework is not for credit. Cling to your TAs to pass.
Final was pretty difficult, but midterms are fair if you do the problems sets. With a nice professor like Famulari, you can easily have the support you need to put in some work to pass.
Prof. Famulari gives really really clear and amazing lectures, which involves both intuition and calculus that you definitely need on exams. Tests are hard but big curve given, also 100 series are all hard so its just a fact. A good TA is super crucial for your success in this class. Speaking of which, Danil is the most fantastic if you have him.
Econ 100A is a tough class (no matter which profs you're gonna take). So, if you can't do well in this course, don't blame Dr. Famulari. She is a great professor who can always explain the materials clearly to students. All the fancy videos she posted online really helped me understand the concepts. Just working hard, go to DI, you can get an A.
100A is tough in general. Hard tests, but generously curved and fair. Expect to put in work if you want an A. Dr. Famulari provides a lot of different resources to use outside class, and her OH are helpful. Don't fall behind, and DO THE PRACTICE EXAMS! Previous exams are very similar to the actual tests, so make sure you understand them! Good luck!
Econ 100A is the toughest class in the 100 series, but Prof Famulari will carry you through as long as you put effort to study. She is probably the best teacher I ever had in UCSD. Super clear lecture. Make sure you understand everything on the practice exam and you will do well.
Prof. Famulari is an amazing professor, but her class was definitely NOT an easy class. Lectures were super clear, best lecturer I've had at UCSD. Tests are hard, she is a VERY tough grader (answer has to match her answer key almost exactly for all points). She will make you learn whether you want it or not LOL
I'd say she's the best lecturer I've ever met in UCSD. Her lectures are very organized. She made nice study videos for students to prep or catch up. She guides you in an intellectual way so the you can understand the concept. Her class definitely needs A LOT OF EFFORT to do well, but those who failed her class and said it was her fault, come on.
She is one of my favorite professors at UCSD so far. 100A is a difficult course no matter who your professor is, but she really introduces each concept from the scratch, gives you examples to build intuition, and connects different concepts together. 10/10 recommend her if you are passionate about Econ. She made me love Microeconomic Theory.
Even though I dont have her as my professor. But in my class we use recorded video she made as supplemental instructions. She explained things so clear and her videos are much more helpful than our own lectures. I will take her class in future.
always talked to me outside of class when i needed help, responsed to my emails, and was very understanding of outside factors. campus wifi was down the day we had a quiz and she let us drop the quiz if we did bad because of the wifi issues.
very sweet but class is very difficult if you do not put the time or effort in to learn the concepts. all lectures are recorded so you can watch on your own time which is nice, but don't let this freedom allow you to fall behind. homework is optional but that along with attending discussions is crucial to success
I loved taking professor Famulari's class. The material is hard but she is a great lecturer and makes the material very interesting. She responds to emails and is understanding. Tests are hard, but they are curved and pretty fair.
Prof Famulari is a good lecturer but they mostly consist of examples that you'll have to know how to do on the midterms. Quizzes are not to bad and are grade boosters. You don't need to read the book but it helps. Def go to lecture bc she explains the math/way to do problems on the midterms/final. The tests are kinda hard so u gotta study.
Good class but you have to work hard so don't take it if you want an easy A. Great lecturer, clearly interested in teaching. Weekly quizzes are easy credit. 2 midterms and 1 final that's worth 40% of the final so you have to test well to score well in the class. Both midterms/final are cumulative so you have to know the material.
I feel that the structure of the class was mediocre at best. She explained things in an order that if anything confused me more than before. She is accessible outside of class and very caring but I would recommend she restructure the topics and gives mandatory homework
Lectures were very clear and interesting. Made me like econ a lot. Only thing, if you want an A you have to work extra-hard.
Dr. Famulari is a great instructor and cares about her students. She does write her exams with the intent of tricking you, so beware of that. The material is made clear and the exams are reflective of it, albeit you may have more difficult problems on the exams than what was shown in lecture. However, the optional homework is great prep for exams.
Great professor, really cares about her students, and interesting lectures that made me enjoy econ. Midterms and final are difficult, so study hard.
She didn't assign any mandatory homework but we had quizzes nearly every week; they aren't too bad though as long as you keep up with the reading, and lectures are interesting enough. She's really passionate and seems like she really cares about her students and wants them to learn, but her class is pretty tough if you're new to economics.
AVOID her, please! No answer keys for all of the practice, no notes available on Canvas, no recording, terrible handwriting. Really, no one understands what she writes, and sometimes she just writes the notes without any explanation. I have no idea why she doesn't give us the answer key for practice.
Limited information is provided for the class. Materials are easy but tested tough.
She is a very good lecturer, but lecture material is not enough for exams. They are tough and the problem sets are limited. No access to solutions for any of her past exams. You will surely be surprised by her grading rubric when grades are posted. Her handbook videos are good, but you can get it with others as well. I would AVOID HER AT ALL COST!!
This professor is terrible, no reason why she is allowed to teach two quarters in a row. Her tests are graded way too hard and lectures do not make sense. She also has terrible handwriting so going to lectures is pointless. She takes off points for regrading and if you do not have the exact answer, she marks the entire question wrong.
Wow. Avoid her. The curve goes crazy.
WORST Professor Ive had during my time at UCSD. I am an Econ major and I have loved every Econ course I have taken, but this has been the worst experience without a doubt with Dr. Famulari. On top of how HORRIBLE she is at teaching, she does not care about her students. She is always criticising her students publicly in her class and in exams.
Avoid this professor, the material itself was not hard, but she makes it ridiculously hard, if you thought you're whole life is just smooth and easy, try this class
Melissa Famulari's 100A can be challenging, but engaging with her teaching style pays off. The lectures are informative, and using resources like Unstuck ai for study prep made all the difference in mastering the material.
The professor does a well job with introducing the topics but when it comes to the actual exams, there were topics that was not mentioned in the lectures. Grading was very strict. I felt like sometimes she brushes over the material without going into full details about them. Take a econ course at a cc or with a different instructor.
Lectures kind of boring and sometimes she doesn't explain math concepts thoroughly. However, overall she's a decent prof. Took this course because I heard Econ1 was a ez grade booster, NOT the case with Famulari!! Tests are hard, and they're worth a lot of your grade. Made the mistake of not prioritizing this class, so I ended up with a poop grade.
Not a lot of work outside of lectures, grade consists of biweekly quizzes, a group project, 2 midterms, and 1 final. She does curve the overall grade of the class. Lectures can be very boring sometimes, I found it better to watch the podcast on 3x speed. Overall the material can be hard to learn, but Famulari is a very cary professor.
One of the most under rated professors in the ECON department. She is really phenominal. Helped me out a ton with learning the material, was flexible. I know she can seem intimidating, but she is actually very kind and accomidating if you just talk to her and tell her what you need. Overall fantastic presenting skills, def my favorite professor.
I love her. Class is quite engaging and she explains every concept clearly. (also, she really care about you as a student. I went to her office hour and she was willing to talk to her students)
Character wise, she's just a sweet elderly lady, but her lectures were extremely boring. If you are a STEM major and are only taking this class as a GE, you WILL struggle. The math itself is easy, but the economic concepts are so difficult to grasp. The exams are hard, and she designs them in a way to trick you. SAVE YOURSELVES!!
60% of the lecture material is going to be on tests and the rest is unimportant unless you're really into Economics. Tests are not too difficult as long as you use the worksheets and quizzes outside of class. Lecture and discussion attendance is optional, but if you miss lectures it's going to be hard to understand what's going on in the class.
Curve is very good for this class; tests are kind of tough though but if you ride the curve you can pass.
