Currently taking her for human reproductive bio. It's not that bad, just study the powerpoints really well and you should be good. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you're not there to answer clicker questions, it'll negatively affect your grade. One thing I don't like is that she constantly mispronounces words.. It just throws me off :/

The class isn't that hard, and she's an ok teacher. Just study the powerpoints and study guides and you'll do good. But be prepared for constant mispronounciation and more than a few typos. I also didn't like the way she lectured. It seemed like she was talking down to us. But, she is quick to respond to emails expressing questions or concerns.

She's an okay professor. Tests not hard, so as long as you study, you shall be fine. Textbook barely used. Big lecture class. Clicker questions are somtimes annoying cuz every one of them can hurt your grade

Her class is relatively easy compared to all my other classes. You do have to study regularly, but if you do get behind in studying its easy to catch up. I didn't buy the textbook $241... I think I'll pass. So basically I use the pp and the study guide plus bioportal and your good to go. Her class is fairly easy if you study. I'm passing with an A

Hullender is a good teacher- I had her for Human Reproductive Bio. She moves pretty fast but if you attend class and read the textbook you will pass! I read my book and studied and got a A, so it is possible. ATTEND CLASS and copy the powerpoints! The tests are the powerpoints and her knowledge combined. I thought it was interesting and good.

Took her for 1107,and she was fine.1108 was different.Her tests were WAY too much in depth."Which fish has this type of system?" She was so obsessed with fish,she forgot that we should have been tested on the systems themselves- not individual fishes.So many people failed. I got a B, but that was too much work for a non bio major. Don't buy textbk

Professor Hullender is one of the best biology professors at UWG. She actually cares about her students and wants you to pass. The iclickers, homework, and study sessions help a lot! Her tests are easy if you sit down and study the material. This class is an easy B. ATTENDANCE MANDATORY, ICLICKER ?'S EVERY CLASS YOU MEET :)

Hullender will not baby you but she will do everything she can do to help you. Class is mandatory because of IClicker which really helps your grade, 2 attempts on online quizes but no study guides on test.

Dr. Hullender was any easy teacher to understand, but her test were a little hard. Read ALL material she gives you, study and take notes and pay attention. She helps as much as she can. She was also a huge advocate for animal rights which I am not.

Very clear about what she expects from students. This course requires work and effort on the students part. You won't make an A if you're lazy. You have to work for it. She can come off as a bit mean in class but in her office and one on one she is a really great person. She is willing to help if you're willing to work. Textbook needed.

The tests are worth a lot of the grade, however if you take good notes over the lectures and study them you will do well. Her homework quizzes are a lot like the tests so do them (they're required). She cares about your success, and biology, but she won't just hand out grades. clicker quizzes at the start and end of every class so you have to go.

Tough professor. She gives it to you how it is, no sugarcoating. However, she is very thorough in lectures and helps you out a lot at the beginning of the semester to transition from high school. Go to class, take notes (seriously), and study, study, study. You will pass.

She does use the icliker to take attendance. This class was super informational and I really enjoyed it. It is a class you MUST work for what grade you want. If you slack off your grade will show. There is SI sessions and take advantage of those even if you have an A or a B. She knows who is going and who is not.

Professor Hullender was one of the best professors I have had at West Ga. She wants all of her students to succeed, but she does expect alot of us. If you take this class, make sure to read the textbook outside of class as she teachers the chapters in class. This helped me to be successful.

I had Hullender my first semester freshman year. Almost dropped the class based on her reviews on here. SO glad I didnt. People say shes hard but those students are just the ones that dont take advantageous her NUMEROUS study aides and extra credit opportunities. 10/10 recommend her for bio 1107. Most effective teacher for that course.

Professor Hullender is a difficult professor, but is not impossible. She is very blunt and may come off as rude or arrogant, but she does care for her students. Her lectures are good and thorough. Her tests are somewhat difficult, but if you study you will be fine! She is very clear on what is expected of you and very fair. I would take again!

I thought that Hullender would be super hard, but it just depends on the type of student you are. I made an A on all of her tests because they are exactly what's on her powerpoints. She does not post her powerpoints, but she does give a summary of the class every day if you miss. Does daily clicker quizzes (5 questions) for attendance.

Prof Hullender was literally such an amazing professor. I absolutely despise biology and science-y things in general, but her teaching style and dedication made me love this class. The class was about human reproduction, so it was relatively easy, There is a lot of homework, but they're there to help you learn and it is extremely helpful.

Her passion for biology is contagious. She is intelligent and knows what she is talking about. She provides a lot of tools in the class to help you succeed but you have to be willing to put in effort. She can be strict at times but she cares. I love the class.

Professor Hullenders class isnt too hard if you take good notes, though the first few chapters for 1107 you have to do on your own, which was pretty tough. Lots of quizzes, make sure to look at your notes before going to her class. Make sure to watch the podcasts again too, lots of info there

Professor Hullender was a great professor. She really cares about her students and their success. Beware there are iclicker quizzes before and after each lecture so I recommend going to class. You can pass the class without reading the textbook but if you want a solid A or B I recommend reading for topics that weren't covered in class.

Hullender was a great professor. At first I was not crazy about her because she was rude in class, but once I went to her office hours I found her to be much more approachable. Make sure that you are ready to work your butt off in the class. She is not easy but she is worth it!

Hullender is a great professor who goes above and beyond what is expected to help her students succeed. The negative ratings on here are likely from students who either did not put in the effort to learn the material or are not ready for college level courses. If you want to learn introductory biology, I highly recommend this professor.

This professor may seem tough but at long as you write down the lecture notes and study them you will be fine. I didnt study as much as I should have but my grade is still okay. Turn in all assignments on time because you wont be able to turn it in late

This class definitely had me working for the grades that I earned. The key aspects are to study and review ANY material she gives out (like the Podcasts especially!) I used the book a few times but wasn't that big of a deal. She's sort of intimidating but also she knows her stuff and you will learn A LOT in the class.

Prof. Hullender is one of the best Biology teacher because she not only fully help understand the topic but encourages you to work harder because high grades cannot be obtained easily. Two quizzes every lecture are done however they are not extremely hard its just something to boost your understanding and your grade. Take good notes and FOCUSED!

If you don't study or pay attention to her lectures you'll fail. She is not a bad professor at all. She obviously cares about her students and will give extra credit, create zoom's out of class time to review, and reaches out to students personally. Her lectures are thorough and the worksheets she gives are very helpful.

Some students complained about Professor Hullender, but I honestly had zero issues. Just go to the lectures, do your homework, and you should be fine. her dog showed up sometimes during online lectures which made me happy!

As a non-traditional student with an undergraduate and graduate degree, I have had over 100 teachers, professors and other instructors throughout my academic career. I rate Professor Hullender as the #1 professor I have had during my extensive academic career. She is tough and she is demanding but she inspires you to learn!

If your major doesnt require biology DONT TAKE IT. I would spend 2-4 hours a week on the assignments and study the material for weeks. The test are a lot like the powerpoint but you have to study everything on there. SIs are life savers go to every session. Mrs Hullender was a good teacher she said what was expected and communicated effectively.

Professor Hullender, while she gives what can easily seem like a good amount of work especially if you fall behind, was very understanding when I didn't turn in work on time and without asking questions gave me extensions on about 3-4 homework assignments AFTER telling the class she wasn't going to anymore. As long as you are diligent you will pass

I am shocked to see so many negative reviews! She was so sweet and generous with extra credit as well as diligent in teaching the material. She gave out prizes after exams and she offered special assistance to people who were failing. She was an amazing person and she explained every concept thoroughly and carefully. 10/10 take her course!

Honestly surprised that her reviews are so low? Her lectures can be wordy and all over the place, but the textbook assignments and study guides from the SI will be more than enough. She seems genuinely passionate about biology. Her syllabus makes her seem strict, but she gives extra credit, extensions, and provides the SIs with study material.

In the beginning I failed her tests and thought it was horrible, but you just have to go and talk to her and go to the tutoring center. She is helpful if you go out of your way to make a connection. The test were very hard because you really have to study and know everything in and out. She will help you, but really use all of your resources.

Idk why there's so many negative comments on her cause i honestly liked her class. Just pay attention and take notes during the lectures and do the homework and you'll be fine. She provides helpful youtube videos and her exams are easy if you payed attention and studied the material. Don't just take notes from the slides also listen to her talk.

I really enjoyed Professor Hullender! I thought her lectures were very organized. I can see why people weren't a fan of her, or her class overall - but if you study the material well, do the assignments, do well on IClicker questions, you should be fine!!
