Very helpful and nice professor. Be sure to participate in all class activities. Wants you to pass so if you have any questions or do not understand something, communication is key. Essays may be vague but allows you to be creative and have a lot to write about. Class discussions are helpful. May assign extra credit. Makes english interesting.

She is a very good professor. The class discussions really aid in obtaining the material. The class is not extremely easy, but if an individual attends class and does online work your grades will show your participation. She cares about your grade. If you take this class you will gain knowledge in your writing.

Professor Jackson is interested in the success of her students by making herself available and spends a lot of time going over material. If a student engages and takes this class seriously it is a great class to enhance reading and writing skills. Simply put, this professor is passionate about her class and a student who engages will do very well!

Prof. Jackson is always there for her students. She is very compassionate and will do anything in her power (even meet outside of school and office hours) to help you. This is not an easy A course. I got an A but I worked for it. I went to every extra credit assignment and went to talk to her all the time about my papers. Put in the effort.

Prof. Jackson is a tough grader! She gave us 3 essays the whole semester. The first one had a minimum of 1,000 words, the second was 800 plus words, the third was 900 plus words. Make sure you participate!! Beware she is going to make you buy A Writers Reference book I think I paid 124.00 around that & you have to buy the subscription.

Prof. Jackson gives her students just enough information for them to still be creative and use their own ideas. Don't get me wrong, its a challenging class, but it's worth the work. My writing has improved exponentially from taking her class, and I will actually be taking her ENGL 1102 class next semester!

She is a great teacher! The work is challenging, but it is supposed to be! She is always willing to help and explain things to you. She is passionate about what she teaches and talks about, and that is a good quality in professors. I would take her again!

My friends, I have learned an unimaginable amount from this class. This being said, it is extremely involved and challenging. If you struggle, the key is to seek help. The more you engage yourself, the more you will learn and the better your grade will be. I would surely take this class again looking back.

she's amazing, most of the people writing the terrible comments on her having a lot of "work" shouldn't have enrolled in college. it helps to suck up some but don't do it too much. yes attendance is mandatory but if you miss a class or two you can make it up by attending one of the other classes that she has on the newnan campus, 20 min drive.

Mrs. Jackson is a great professor, all you have to do is read the assignments, attend, and participate in class, and you will make a good grade if you apply yourself. If you are struggling with an assignment, she helps you narrow it down and gives feedback on papers of what to fix. She also has extra-credit opportunities. Overall great class!

Mrs. Jackson is awesome and she really helped me a lot! Her class isn't hard and what she's asking for in the essays are not unreasonable but she's also not just going to hand you the answers and tell you what to write about. She expects you to analyze and interpret for yourself which really helped me! I would love to have her as a professor again!

M. Jackson is the best English teacher I've ever had(so great I even took her twice!). She pushes her students to think harder about specific topics and makes them strive to be a better writer. She makes herself constantly available for her students whether it's in her office, in the writing lab, or through email. Gives correction opportunities!

Great teacher. Hard class if you aren't the best writer or analyzer. Make sure if you don't understand you visit her during her office hours she is very approachable and will help you an unlimited amount of times. You can email her your essays or meet with her to understand the prompts because they are a little tricky and make you think deeper .

Mrs Jackson is one of the few professors who is passionate about her job. She is very helpful if you feel stuck or do not know what to write about, go to her office and she will help you. Participation does matter in this class be ready to discuss the material. It's essential that you have the book for the class.

I love this teacher!! She taught me how to use my writing skills in a better way. She also broke it down step by step on how to become better. Although her class challenged my intellect, it strengthened my writing abilities. You must put in time and effort to be successful. She is always available for help through office hours and email!

Professor Jackson has helped guide me through the perils of writing papers. Before her help my organization was horrid and i could never compose a proper thesis statement. She takes the time to speak with people individually about their essays and her feedback is always very helpful and informative.

Professor Jackson's class is a wonderful class that will give you many writing skills that you didn't know you already had. Her class allows you to express your self as a writer but with a purpose. She pushes you to see you ability to do your best. Overall I completely enjoyed this class.

Absolutely wonderful teacher and person, she is engaging, very accepting of your opinions, grades objectively. Keep up with the reading - daily short quizzes. You have an oral presentation, a mid-term, and an out of class final essay. An English class that is not politically driven, we actually read Am. Lit. what a relief. I highly recommend her!

Professor Jackson was one of the few English teachers I dont despise. Ive never been an English kinda guy, but Mrs Jackson made it easy to understand and was very good about telling us all what she wanted! The Grading is alittle strange but it works. As long as you do what she wants you to do there is no issue getting an A in the class

I absolutely despise English/literature classes, but i have had very good teachers and this is one. Although, we had three essays and in the middle of the working, she would change the prompt by words and not write it on paper or present it to us, which made it a bit tough.

Professor Jackson is one of the few good professors at UWG. There is a lot of independent reading/research you will have to do and sometimes what she expects can be kind of confusing due to how broad her topics can be but shes very helpful and wont stop helping until you fully understand what she wants. I would definitely recommend taking her!

English has always been an easy course for me, but Professor Jackson made me work a little harder in her class. She is a tough grader, but gives great feedback. There is a substantial amount of reading and research to be done outside of class, but its for the best. Make sure you don't procrastinate, follow the rubrics, and read everything required.

I thought the travel from home to class in Newnan at 730am would be a pain, it wasn't. Prof. Jackson is a great professional knows who knows her craft, respects her students, and is respected. Professor Jackson was not my first choice in professor for this semester, but she ended up being very professional and helpful. There were times where I was confused by some of the assignments, but in the end it all made sense. She was always there to help and made me a stronger writer and analyzer. She has prepared me for future classes.

Professor Jackson was great! She was the first English teacher that I've ever had that really knew what she was doing. She grades quickly, explains lots of topics, and gives ample time to get work done in class. Most of my ENGL1101 class loved her so much that we're all taking ENGL1102 with her next semester! Jackson is an excellent professor; however, the class was challenging at times. She is a tough grader, but it helped us write better. Jackson is available for help before and after class as well. Attendance is mandatory. There are three main papers and a group presentation at the end that is very easy! If you do the homework and try, you will pass!

I dont understand why shes getting negative reviews. Shes a tough grader, but she gives you everything needed to succeed and is available outside of class. Shes the kind of subtle badass professor everyone needs to give them that extra nudge to really grow. 10/10 would recommend.

AN absolutely inspiring teacher. I definitely carry heavy respect for her as a student. As someone who doesn't like writing papers, I would say that all you need to do is pay attention to the materials she gives you and the words she says. She literally hands you a pretty clear guide on how to get a 100 on every paper if you pay attention.

Mrs. Jackson is very understanding if there are outside issues keeping you from class that day, and she also gives great feedback on essays and project presentations on what is needed for improvement and how to fix our errors. I enjoyed the topics we discussed throughout the semester, and developing deeper thoughts on "Love" and "Perception".

I went to her 1101 and 1102 classes, and although I did not need 1102 for credit, I had such an incredible experience in 1101 that I had to continue with her. This was a year ago, and I still think about how amazing her classes were. I got As on all of my papers because she is so helpful and gives very clear instructions. Highly recommend!

I had her when I was a dual enrollment student, and she is so understanding and caring. Everyone has to do an individual and group presentation. Make sure you attend all of her classes and participate. She is always willing to help and she wants to see all of her students pass. Really good class.

The only homework we ever had was just three essays throughout the entire of the semester, as well as reading a novel and preparing one or two presentations. No tests. Keep up with your journal throughout the year. As long as you pay attention and do your best, you'll get a good grade. She is very caring and understanding. Discussion heavy class.

Never in my life have I ever had an amazing English professor at UWG like Jackson! I took her for English 1101 last semester and I knew that I had to take her again for English 1102 this semester because she is just that great! She is very inspirational and gives great feedback on assignments. Three essays and that's it! TAKE HER!!!!

I have taken both ENG 1102 and ENGL 2130 with Professor Jackson, and really enjoyed having her for both classes. She is awesome! There are only 3 essays and each one comes with very clear instructions about each essay. There are also extra credit opportunities and a lot of easy quizzes to help pad your grade. I do find the way she grades essays different than what I am used to, but the feedback is great. I definitely recommend taking her class!

In the classroom, she was very respectful toward her students and would help them learn at whatever pace was best for them. I took both ENG1101 and ENG1102 with Professor Jackson, and they were the best classes I had at UWG. She clearly cares deeply for all of her students and wants to see them succeed in her class and beyond. The coursework we did this semester not only allowed me to build important portfolio pieces, but also to network with professionals in my field.

I thoroughly enjoyed Professor Jackson's class last semester amd would definitely take her again. It wasn't a super easy class, however it was extremely doable as long as one applied themselves, and everyone was able to get an A. We learned things like writing, reading, and researching, all with a focus on the effects of AI on our future careers.

This professor has some of the most interesting assignments I have ever done. I took English 1101 with her and she used Meditations by Marcus Aurelius to teach intro english and critical thinking at the same time. Attendance definitely matters to her, but she is also available outside of class if you need help with anything.

Her passion for the subject and the works we were reading made the class so much more fun. Engl/Comp is by far not my favorite subject, but she made it worth it. Take her class. You won't regret it.

This professor was easily one of my favorite professors throughout all of my time at the university of west Georgia. She takes her time to get to know you personally and your writing style and how to work with it. She is great to take twice since she has basic grammar quizzes + a final that you can skip if you take twice.

Make sure to do discussions bc there's a lot and count the most. Do assignments on time because she does not re-open them. Not a tough grader, just do work. More homework than most 1101 English. she likes rough drafts and a lot of pre-work. fast grader! In her directions if you copying and paste them into chatgpt it gives her clues that you cheated

I LOVED her! She allowed us to make a connection even though the screen! She give thoughtful feedback. She can be stern about particular things but making a thoughtful insinuative to build a connection really helps! Overall would 100000% take her again!

The nicest lady. Very chill, understands that this is a required class. Knows that not everybody is good at English and is cool w it. Good teaching and feedback, learned a lot! (lots of extra cred and leeway for missing class). Participate at all and she'll love you forever. Not an easy A, but a manageable one,, and she wants you to ace it.
