Going into college I was nervous about having an English class. I am so glad I took Professor Keith's class. She grades fairly and moves deadlines all the time. She understands that things happen and times change. She is very open minded and free spiritied. I definitely reccommend her! I'm taking her again next semester for 1102!
I would recommend this class to all first year 1101 students. It is a lot less writing than the other 1101 classes and you will appreciate that. She is always happy and understanding. A lot of class discussion. 4 big essays, not too hard though.
Good Teacher
Great teacher, highly recomend her. She is very passionate and always has great class discussions. She is very willing to move deadlines and always wants students to come to her for any help. The essays are short and easy and she is very fair on her grading. Definitely get this teacher if you can!
LOVE HER!!! she is the BEST sooo sweet and caring..she truly loves teaching and it shows. tries very hard to make things clear and has great discussions. i will take her again for SURE!you have to read 1 book and 5 essays..but they are easy and there is quite a bit of out of class reading but its not all boring
English has never been so difficult. So much reading comprehension, you really got to be an expert at literary analysis. So hard!!!
DONT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!! IMPOSSIBLE CLASS!!! Tons of reading and really hard papers. Take someone else!!!!!!!
People who say she is easy- WRONG! I have never hated English so much. I dropped the class 2 months into it. NO WAY I COULD PASS WITH A "B" do NOT take this class, not even if it's your only choice..
This professor is so incredibly hard. Attendance is absolutely mandatory. English is my favorite subject and I failed 3 papers. All of the readings are ridiculous. I DON'T recommend AT ALL!
A WONDERFUL teacher. She is always available to help her students after class, assigns interesting readings, and has a refreshing focus on women in her curriculum. She obviously loves to teach, and is extremely knowledgeable about literature and poetry. She's always pushing her students to think outside the box. I highly recommend her!
Is wonderful!! She actually reads your work, and comments are very constructive and fair. Her ideas are inspirational, and makes you think. You do have to read alot and analyze every piece that is read(4 works a week) Alot of writing(15-20 page research paper),with an oral presentation at the end of the semester.Very helpful and will make time to help
I have taken many ENG classes, and this one has been my favorite thus far. INST willing to sit down at anytime to discuss your papers. I found the readings to be interseting and full of topics that I would have never thought to read. I loved your class Mrs Keith, good luck to you!!!!!
Prof. Keith is the best teacher I've ever had!She truely cares about her students! I've never had a teacher like her before. The readings she assigns really make you think outside the box, and broaden your ideas of the world. She is the hardest working professor I've ever had! Ifyou have a problem she will work with you! She is an amazing person!!
While this professor is laid back and easy going, she does require critical thinking. She assigns essays and readings that encourage students to think on a much deeper level. She cares a great deal for her students and is there to teach them and make them happy.
One of the best english teacher I have ever had! There are four major essays, one major quiz and no test. A lot of discussions on the readings and random things. She truly cares about teaching and her students. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
An absolutely fantastic professor. She really is understanding about how sometimes life just happens and is willing to move deadlines when necessary. Strict attendance policy but is necessary for the discussions that really expand global awareness.
if possible avoid at all cost
Prof. Keith is amazing, and her class is not hard. People who say this class is hard and is impossible to pass are slackers who want to rebel and not show up to class. You have 5 days to be absence. Other than that, all the work you do is four papers in one semester, and you get to CHOOSE WHAT YOU WANT TO WRITE ABOUT. She's lenient on deadlines too
If you are wanting to be prepared for 1102 then I would avoid this class. She has alot to offer and is very interesting to listen to but she does not review the readings assigned from the books and she is easily confused with grammer rules.
I have to say being out of school for almost 8 yrs I couldn't of asked for a better professor!Yes you have a lot of hw, but the thing is this woman really wants her class to do well. I hope to take her again. Also she gives you plenty of extra credit work if you want it. If you show your trying she is fine with you.
Omg...great professor...LOVED HER!!! She is very helpful. She helps you come up with your topics and explains to you how to make your paper interesting and not boring. I recommend this class to anyone
She is AWESOME! As an English major, I would have to say that she is probably one of the best English professors I will ever have. Miss 5 classes, though, and you fail the course, so don't be lazy! Mostly discussion in class based on the assigned reading, so READ. There are 4 essays, and the final is a 5 paragraph essay on what you've learned.
Professor Keith is by far the greatest english teacher I have ever had. She is extremely nice and is always willing to help with situations. Not to mention you will become a much better writer.
She's a great professor. She's very nice & very helpful. She does take attendance & there are many readings from the book, but the class is easy. She also helps students be aware of issues around the world, which I thought was pretty cool.
I'm an international student. I stumbled into her class just before the registration deadline, as the others were full. I think I'm right to say that I stumbled into the right class. If you have a choice, make THIS choice.
She is extremely helpful. She takes time out of her day to help you develop ideas in your paper. She only assigns 4 papers throughout the semester. The textbook is a must because you have to write a reflection on what you read. The class is 100% discussion based, make sure to talk or she will call you out. DEF take her.
Awesome teacher!! very helpful and clear. Can be a little spacey but overall an amazing person and teacher. Truely enjoys her job. I'd take her again in a heartbeat!!!
She's a great teacher, very entertaining! Readings are long. 4 papers and one quiz and a project. If you dont mind going to class everyday you'll be fine.
She's a great teacher, very entertaining! Readings are long. 4 papers and one quiz and a project. If you dont mind going to class everyday you'll be fine.
Prof Keith is obsessed with Literature. She also cares for her students, and wants you to get a good grade. Class is mandatory, you HAVE to go to class and take notes in order to do good on the tests. It is not an easy class unless you really pay attention to everything and study a lot. There are no novels to read, 1 essay, and 5 tests.
Awesome professor!!! Class is discussion based and she makes you think about something from different perspectives. Loves teaching and it shows! However, there's a lot of reading but i would definitely take her again!
She is a very sweet and lenient professor! She is easy if you just put some effort on the research essays. There are 4 papers on the same subject, and you pick the subject which makes it enjoyable. I really enjoyed her class and i am NOT a writing person!
Easy class. Anything that she plans to put on the test she either says over and over again or you identify a reading. Min effort required for an A. GO TO CLASS 5 Multiple choice Tests and 1 Essay. Lots of Extra Credit ops if you need them. She loves lit & actually made me enjoy it as well. I actually learned in here, unlike other lit classes.
I heard great things from this teacher, however i completely disagree with previous posts. She is a caring woman who loves literature, however she is not organized what so ever. She has been so difficult to follow in class, and I rarely have that problem with teachers. she requires attendance but i have literally not learned one thing in class.
Her class seems intimidating. But if you read the material, come to class, and take notes, you will do fine! Don't take her if you're not going to put forth the effort. Tests are VERY specific, but the material comes straight from class notes.
This class seriously isn't difficult. No novels to read, just a lot of short poems/essays/stories. If you do the readings and take notes in class, that's the test. She explains everything many times and emphasizes the important ideas. I HIGHLY recommend her for this class. She is so sweet and ALWAYS willing to help. You can tell she loves teaching.
I completely disagree with the previous post saying that Prof. Keith is disorganized and difficult to follow. Anyone who has difficulty in this class just isn't willing to put forth the effort and expects things handed to them on a silver platter. Sorry, that isn't what college is about. She is an amazing and passionate teacher. I highly recommend.
It's refreshing to have a professor that is actually passionate about their subject. Professor Keith is a sweet, enthusiastic lecturer. She knows her stuff and she cares about her students. Her class isn't impossible at all. Just be sure to read the material, come to class and take notes. That's it!
Very enthusiastic and intelligent. She's very cultured and willing to help with anything you need. She never puts you down, even if she disagrees with you. Very easy class, if you try.
Her class is super easy if you actually read the material. The only negative thing about her is that she is HIGHLY enthusiastic about teacher, which can be annoying if you have her early in the morning. Otherwise, it's a nice and easy class.
Professor Keith loves literature and while it may rub off on some students it didn't on me. With that being said her class is easy but also easy to space out in. Bonus questions on 3 of the 4 tests made it easy to get an A on the test by just reading the given material. Would probably take her again.
Shes an awesome teacher, makes the boring literature subject fun just because she gets so excited about it. I definitely recommend her. Tests are not too bad if you do the readings and pay attention in class. Take notes! this will help you a lot.
She is very passionate about teaching! Her classes are kind of boring, but you need to go to them. Grading is alright.. If you meet up with her for your papers and build a relationship with her I definitely think that will help you out!
She is very passionate about what she is teaching, but tends to loose students because she has a certain way of thinking that she is trying to teach(very far out of the box). Lets you have 5 absences, and test requires you to identify lines from readings. (author/poem name)
She has the passion that most professors lack. Sometimes I questioned if she was on another planet, but she is the sweetest lady. Her ideas can be a little out there sometimes but if you do the work and pay attention, you will end up with an A or B. Def not an easy A type of class though.
DO NOT TAKE. Grades extremely hard and not helpful. I am Dyslexic so written language is automatically difficult for me. The writing lab didn't even understand why she graded me soooo hard. They thought my paper was a 'B' but she failed it.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND Professor Keith is a wonderful professor. It is so hard to find a professor like her that cares so much about what they are teaching and your success and growth as well. If you are willing to put effort into it, you will do great in her class and appreciate her as such a great professor that cares about you and wants you to succeed
Professor Keith cares and is passionate about what she does. She tries her best to save her students money by posting most of the assignments online. Her class is a piece of cake and what we read is interesting. She's scatter-brained, but it's bearable. Take her! No essays for the big classes!
Word of advice: take Dr Keith!
Awesome teacher. She is very passionate about literature. Class discussions were interesting and I actually enjoyed them. Tests were pretty easy. But attendance is mandatory. If you go to class, take good notes and read required stories, poems, etc you'll be fine. She sometimes gets off topic during lecture though. Overall easy and enjoyable class
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Professor Keith!!!! She is not only passionate about the course and teaching, but also cares about the students (talked with me for over hour during diff time) & saves them money by posting most assignments online. I was afraid of this course, but easily got a B. She is a great teacher and no essays!
If you can't tell, Professor Keith is wonderful. She is a little rough around the edges until you get to know her. She goes out of her way to help her students in every aspect..as long as you care, participate and show some effort. The class in general is difficult, but her door was always open and she attended our weekend study sessions! Take her!
Probably the best professor at Kennesaw. She is so sweet and actually cares about her students. This is a fairly easy class as long as you read and go to class and she also does her best to make sure that each student does well in her class. I highly recommend her
TAKE HER!!!!..she is very passionate and truly care...I learned more through discussions in her class than I have from most professor, she is also very readily available to meet and discuss grades!
AMAZING. AMAZING. She is SO passionate. If she could teach every class I have I would take her. I wish she taught other classes in my major. SO nice and caring. I don't know that I will ever like a teacher better than her. As long as you listen, read, and take good notes (BE THERE TOO) you'll definitely do fine. Did I mention that she is AWESOME???
This Professor's grading system is ridiculous. She has no clue how to even work it. You have to go to class because she takes attendence everyday and you always have pop quizes over the reading. Will lower grade if you miss class. spacey, jumps around, unorganize, but really intrested in what she teaches! Willing to meet with you anytime, and nice.
Dr. Keith is brilliant and a very good professor. She is fair and if you read the assignments and take notes in class you will make an A. Excellent professor. I highly recommend her class.
This class is easy as long as you read EVERYTHING, take notes and attend class everyday. Not only does she take attendance, but there are pop quizzes at least once a week. Instructions are sometimes confusing and unclear, but she is more than willing to go out of her way to meet with you for extra help.
I did not want to take world literature because I do not really enjoy reading. However, Dr. Keith was so interesting and enthused regarding the literature we were assigned to read that she made me want to learn and excited to come to class. One of the best professors I have had so far at Kennesaw
(I hate english)One of the best professors I've had. She's very passionate, empathetic and understanding; wants her students to learn. Makes English interesting, opens you up to new ways of thinking. A bit eccentric but that's definitely not a bad thing! As long as you go to class and pay attention you'll get a good grade. Little writing required.
I never felt like I could take in enough of what she was saying. I always looked forward to this class, and I learned so much from it. Dr. Keith is so open-minded, passionate, and interesting, and she finally gave me a reason to be glad I came to Kennesaw. TAKE HER CLASS, you won't regret it.
Amazing Professor! She is extremely passionate and caring. She knows her stuff and is excited to help you learn. Gives crazy amount of bonus points. Very little writing (two 1-page essays). You have to watch movies, and at least glance over the information to do well on the quizzes. Super easy, yet very fun! :)
she is harder than most teachers, but she is a wonderful teacher who really makes her students try to think differently. respect her, understand that she is a little scatterbrained and don't treat this as a throw-away class. there is a good bit of homework, bu it's not busywork and it is worth your time to do the readings.
I love her world lit class!! Dont slack and do what she assigns, and the class is a breeze. I think she has a great perspective on things, and you end up getting more out of the class than most normal, bland English classes. TAKE HER!
Dr. Keith is one of my favorite professors! She is so intelligent and PASSIONATE about her line of work. She wants students to learn. Her class is mostly discussion-based; no boring, static lectures! Attendance is mandatory! Not only will you have an attendance grade, but most of the test material comes from lecture notes. Keep up with readings!
Dr. Keith is an amazing professor! As long as you read and take lecture notes you will get an A! Tests are not hard at all. Allows substantial extra credit. Very passionate about her work. Although she is harsh on attendance, don't miss more than 5 days and you're golden. TAKE WORLD LIT WITH DR. KEITH! She's a little quirky but you won't regret it!
AWESOME PROFESSOR!! I would recommend her to anyone who needs this course! You'll watch a few movies and there is a lot of reading. Class discussions after each assignment, I recommend reading the material before class you'll learn a lot!! Take notes on everything she says because she tells you everything that will be on the tests!! Attend class!!
Super easy A. If you attend class she tells you everything you need to know for the test. If you skip class as long as you read and understand the assigned readings you'll still get an A. Her biggest drawback is she talks way too much and repeats herself a million times. If you're okay with that kind of teacher (or just want to pass) take her!
Everyone said this class would be easy, but it is the farthest thing from that. She assigns a ton of reading from several different books at once and requires you to watch movies that are so hard to find or have to be purchased on Amazon. I would not recommend taking this professor unless you are very good at understanding literature.
Dr. Keith is an amazing professor! She really cares about her students and her subject. She is not the easiest teacher in the world, and you will have to put sufficient effort in if you want to get a good grade, however, she is there to help you every step of the way! I have vastly improved as a writer, and I will be taking her again for world lit!
Attendance is 100%a must, her lectures are long, boring and she gets distracted very easily. you walk out more confused than you went in. the test are lengthy and very specific, asking for quotes or details about reading. you must watch several movies, read several books and hundreds of short stories and poems that sound about the same. Dont take!
Maybe Dr. Keiths smaller classes are hard but the large class is so easy. No papers, all you have to do is listen to her, and do minimal reading. Yeah its a lot of readings but they are like 10 pages each some not even a full page. I don't understand why people think she's hard, didn't buy the movies or the 2 books and still got an A in the class.
She's a good professor overall. Sometimes she may get a little carried away but if you stay with her you'll get it. She grades research papers rather leniently, and helps you through much of it, if you need it. She will encourage you to do better than you can.
DO NOT TAKE HER. I was in her large class.. like 250 people. LOTS OF READINGS. The tests are lengthy and very specific. Very easy to make a B in the class, but if you want an A, consider other classes. She gets angry at students oftenly.
Her class is not the easiest in the world, but she is so passionate about her work and truly cares about her students. She wants you to do well and she will do whatever she can to help. Take her. Her tests are not bad and she has study groups and discussion boards to help you along the way. All you have to do is read the material and listen.
The class is relatively easy, you must read in order to do well on the tests. You can achieve a B in the class relative ease by doing all of the reading. Her lectures are a little long and can be pointless at times. She does tend to yell at students for no real reason.
The only positive thing I have to say about her is that she's passionate. She is incredibly rude to students. If someone shows up 2 minutes late, she yells at them. She gives opinion based tests, but if you don't share the same opinion, you won't do well. Basically, choose any other professor except Dr. Keith.
Kind of shocked reading these other comments! Honestly this course is a joke it's so easy. All I did was attend class and i got an A. I never read any of the assignments, just listened in class. Dr. Keith is a very passionate professor who will pretty much do anything to help you or your grade if you just talk to her. Easy class. Easy A if you go.
A lot of people have said they do not like Dr. Keith, but I really enjoyed her class. She makes everything easy to understand and she really gets you thinking. Reading is required, and you have to buy a few inexpensive novels but the tests are really easy if you go to class! She offers review sessions and online discussion reviews before her tests!
If you read, think a little bit about what you read, and show up to class, it's an easy A. She's very eccentric and passionate about what she's teaching. Make sure to watch the movies.
Never had to write for this class. But I hated it so much. Made an A. But dreaded coming to class every single day. She yelled at students constantly and attributed all of her problems to being a women in today's society. Don't need to read if you listen and come to class every day. But I would not take her again, and this is my favorite subject.
I. Love. This. Professor. She is very easy going, but demands respect. (How can she not in a class of over 200 students?) Her lectures are very interesting and I have overall enjoyed her assigned readings. Very philosophical, inspiring class. Tests aren't bad as long as you take notes even when she's ranting- there's always a point. Worth going to.
If you do the reading and watch the films, you'll do just fine. If you don't you'll fail. Dr. Keith will make you hate everything about this class, including her. She's pretentious and condescending. She does offer help if you need it, if you can stand being around her. If you can get past her attitude, you'll be fine. Just show up and do the work.
Dr. Keith is seriously amazing. There is a lot of reading but if you come to class and attend her out of class study sessions YOU WILL MAKE AN A. I skipped many classes and relied on other students notes. Sometimes I wouldn't read the material and still made a high A on every testquiz. Her tests are really easy. Take her for World Lit!!!!!
She follows the English departments rules on attendance and being tardy. She is willing to work with every student. She is one of the best teachers I have taken since starting school here. I would say take her if you can. The final was a paper on a book, and the day before she gave a lot of the topics to write about, all you do is find quotes.
I LOVED her! She is by far the most inspirational professor I have had at KSU. She takes attendance seriously- so if you are someone who skips class, you won't pass. She is VERY passionate about what she teaches. If you are immature and don't care about your education, don't take her. If you enjoy literature and want an awesome professor, take her!
I can TRULY say I enjoyed this class, Dr. Keith is by far the most passionate and inspirational teacher here at KSU. She goes the extra mile and offers study sessions before each exam. She does go a random rants but they are funny. There are 3 test and a final and you do have to watch 3 movies but they aren't a waste of time. Take her! Easy A!
Mandatory attendance policy (as prescribed by KSU's English Department). Her lectures can be insanely boring, and the subject matter sometimes is just insane. Some of the things she says are so out there and make absolutely no sense. You have to show up, but she gives movie assignments instead of books. Read the material and you get an Easy A
Dr. Kieth is an excellent teacher. You can tell she thoroughly enjoys her job and the material being taught. She is tough on grading papers and occasional pop quizzes. She's willing to help at anytime. once you get on her bad side there is no going back. She will call you out in class for something & do a 30 min lecture on what u did wrong.
Dr. Keith is the kind of professor that really does care for her students. Often times it may seem like she repeats things, but it is to help reinforce good writing technique and challenge students to go deeper into their own thought process. If you take the time to meet one on one, you will find no better instructor. She put's in as much as you do
I took this class in the summer and wish I had taken it during a full length semester. So much love for this professor! I did not always agree with her opinions, but I still took a lot out of what she had to say. It's okay to not agree, she is still BRILLIANT!!!
Dr. Keith really knows what she is talking about but she can go on long rants sometimes. Movie assignments instead of readings. Attend class and write down what she says and you'll do fine. The lectures can be boring and long at times. No electronics allowed in class! She emphasises hand-written notes.
Dr. Keith is an absolute pleasure. Sure, in the beginning of the semester I didn't think I would enjoy her class, but she turned out to be my favorite professor. She's always clear with what you're supposed to be doing work-wise and shes super nice. If you're having doubts, don't. Take her!!! She's amazing
Dr. Keith really knew what she was talking about, and was very passionate. Although, her lectures would derail quickly and she often became distracted. Don't try talking during her lectures; she gave lectures on /why/ it was rude to talk during her lectures. Show her respect and she'll do the same for you. Head's up, she laughs unnecessarily.
Dr. Keith is my favorite professor I've ever taken. She truly cares for her students & will take time to help you understand if needed. She genuinly cares about our education! You don't find teachers like her often. She is inspiring & has had a tremendous impact on my outlook on life. Try to embrace this class, It would be a tragedy if you don't.
Keith's class is really easy as long as you go to class, and read the material before her tests. Take her as your world literature teacher!! She is crazy, and I love it. Her class is also very interesting and I learned a lot about stuff I normally would be bored with. TAKE KEITH. Especially if you want a good, easy, fun world lit class.
Dr. Keith is an amazing professor that really goes out of her way to make this course fun, engaging and interesting for her students. There are very few professor left at ksu that have the shear joy and dedication that Dr. Keith brings to the class room daily. Read the required readings, ask for help if need and above all maintain an open mind. A+
Dr. Keith is a professor who really cares about what she does as a professor. However, she makes it very vocal that she cares by going on a tangent every 20 mins in class about how no one cares about what she has to say and makes sure to tie in her political and social beliefs. The classes were terrible, but the tests were really straight-forward.
I definitely would not say this class is fun, but if you read what is assigned and study for the tests it is an easy A. At first I almost dropped her because she goes off on tangents and her style of lecture is kind of hard to follow but once you get used to the way she teaches it's not bad at all!
She's very kind and a forward thinker. She hates it when students talk in class, but if you stay on her good side she'll give you secret extra credit.
Terrible teacher who goes off on tangents and expects everyone to be a lit major. Tons of boring reading of poems. Tests are hard and scrambled. Stay away from this teacher if possible.
Dr. Keith is one of the best and most influential professors i have encountered to date. She is very inspirational and keeps you thinking outside your box!
This course was boring and tedious. Dr. Keith, however, was not. This was a class that I was not expecting to enjoy, yet Dr. Keith somehow managed to talk about these boring topics in a way that makes them interesting. Don't expect to enjoy the reading and assignments, but do know that she will make things much easier.
In order to do well on the tests, you have to write down almost everything she says. if you do that, tests are very easy. Reading almost every night, and she has the tendency to give quizzes when the class doesn't answer her questions about the reading in class. Quizzes on out-of-class movies that you have to buy. Very opinionated.
Dr. Keith is a great professor. She is really passionate and comes at the material from unexpected angles. You cannot fake it with her so you will suffer if you don't read. She taught me a lot & pulled reading from lots of divergent sources. WARNING: Don't diss Keats. I did & it was the one time she actually melted down.
Dr. Keith was definitely one of the most interesting professors I've had. She has a genuine passion for literature and can get heated at times, but as long as you read and have a basic knowledge of the material you'll do fine.
If you are not a "lit" minded thinker, not the professor for you. She will leave everything open minded and not concrete so knowing what to study is hard. Readings everyday, several books and movies to purchase. One essay, tests, and cumulative final. Def. treats ALL as if they are lit majors. If it makes it any better, she can be nice
AVOID. Her lectures are impossible to follow. She doesnt give you any guidance on what to take notes on. I came to every class prepared and had the readings done and I still was all over the place trying to take notes. Tests are extremely difficult because of that, even if you had written everything done. Accessible outside class. Want an A? RUN.
Dr. Keith is a very sweet woman that wants students to learn the woman side of life. Her class is an open minded one and you definitely need to read the works, but her lessons can be life changing if you're willing to really learn.
If you want an A, I would not take her class. She is attitude-heavy and honestly makes you hate coming to class
Dr. Keith has earned my respect as a professional. If you want to actually improve your writing skills for the future this is the class for you. I didn't go into her class with an open mind but i definitely left with one. Do the work. Talk to her (email, call, conference) she's very helpful and useful. Communicate and you won't fail.
Dr. Keith's lectures are inspiring. She really opens your perspective and helps you see into the literature of other cultures. She does have you do a different number of readings or watching a movie. Definitely take her!
Dr. Keith is a very inspirational prof. At first I was weary, but if you go to class and take notes you'll succeed. She writes her own tests that come straight from her words during the lectures.
No textbook just a few cheap book and a few movies that are mandatory. Some are available on D2L or youtube. Dr. Keith really knows her stuff. Her tests are easy if you pay attention and come to class. Extra credit available a few times throughout the year. Test and quizzes can be taken later if missed. Loved her class!
Her tests literally come right from the lectures, so write down everything she says. Everything. The class can be really easy, you just have to take notes and definitely watch the movies. She gives short, easy quizzes on all the movies and most of the readings. She knows what she's talking about and is a very helpful, smart lady. My favorite class!
Hated this class. Professor had extremely boring lectures, pop quizzes, and difficult tests. If you are not a literary minded thinker, this is not the class for you. She expects a lot from her students, and because of this the test can be very difficult. Multiple readings before every class!
Dr. Keith is a very caring lady, extremely open minded, and more than passionate about literature. That being said, she does expect her student's to do the reading and take very detailed notes in class, doing so will lead you to an A. If you have any questions or concerns she will undoubtedly hear you out and she also allows you to make things up.
Dr. Keith is a passionate lady, she's a little out there at times. She's a strong feminist but wont classify herself as that. She's willing to do whatever it takes to help students pass. Her class is really easy: No textbook, a few movies, and a lot of poems/short stories to read, one short essay, 4 exams. It's really straight forward. I enjoyed it
She's an amazing professor. She expects people to engage, but she makes the content engaging. Her focus is on works outside "the single story" of literary canon, and being able to go to a class and hear about the kind of writers our high schools would ignore is absolutely fantastic. I'm a math major, and I still learned so much. I feel enlightened.
I believe this was Dr. Keith's last semester teaching. However, she was a great professor. She truly cared about the literature we discussed in class and tied everything we learned into a few central themes to make the course more cohesive. If you payed attention in class and took notes, the class was not too stressful.
I really admired her when I took her last spring. If you dont like strong women this might not be the right class for you. I met her at the beginning of the semester and got to know her and she is so SMART! I definitely recommend talking to her one on one if you ever get the chance. To do well: read (gives pop quizzes), speak up, and take notes.
As long as you read and understand everything she assigns, you will be fine/ easy A. If you reach out to her for clarification she will not disappoint. Just keep up with all the reading and watch the 3 films and it's a piece of cake. Try and participate in class and she will do her best to keep it interesting.
Oh my goodness, I LOVE her. Best professor ever. Inspirational because she is in love with literature. Never had a professor inspire me the way she did. Stayed in touch with her even after I finished her class. Pay attention and do the reading and youll be FINE. I would take her again in a heartbeat if I had been given the opportunity to.
